I called Rock Honda and explained the situation and without hesitation, Matthew told me they'd help. The Service Team was able to locate and rescue the kitten. They gave it water and had placed into a cat cage I brought from home. I dropped off my 2018 Chevy Volt on June 17 for a high-voltage battery repair. Timeline: * June 17: Dropped off my vehicle. * June 19: Called the dealership to let them know I would be on a cruise with limited or no cell service, so if my vehicle was ready during that time, I didn't want them to think I was ignoring their calls. * June 25: I received a text stating that the required battery module had arrived, my vehicle was back in rotation for installation, and it would "hopefully" be ready by Thursday or Friday. * July 3: Called for an update. * July 8: Called again for another update. * July 14: Called multiple times, left a voicemail requesting a callback, but never received one. * July 16: Called again, was transferred to my service advisor, left another voicemail, and again received no callback. As of today, my car has been at the dealership for 29 days, and the battery module has reportedly been there for about three weeks. I completely understand that EV repairs require specialized technicians, and I was told they only have two certified EV technicians. I can be patient with the repair itself. What has been frustrating is the lack of communication and the repeated promises that the car would be ready "next week." Each week I have had to call for an update myself, and my voicemails have gone unanswered.

I think he sensed that I wasn't willing to pay more than the advertised price plus normal government fees, because he kept trying to steer me toward other cars instead of answering the straightforward question: What is the out the door price on the vehicle I called about? When he finally answered, he said it would be about $30,000, although they might be able to come down a little. By my back of the napkin calculation, the total should have been around $25,500 after my sales tax, title, registration, and DMV fees. That means their unidentified add ons added ~$4,500 to the price (roughly 20% of the advertised price). Advertising a car for $22,995 and then asking around $30,000 out the door because of required add ons they won't even identify is absurd. I'm going to spend my money somewhere that doesn't play games like this, and I suggest you do the same.

When I got in there they lowered the interest rate and kept the same monthly payment. Effectively raising the price. Then they lied and said they never agreed to the interest rate blah blah. "Oh I forgot what the interest rate was". They literally said that when we confirmed in the phone that morning. Be careful of this little maneuver and I would advise spending your money elsewhere. If you hear the name Semaj, run far far away!

BUT I checked the VINs, which matched, and he backtracked saying he was new and didn't know. Second, the prices advertised online are not what you will actually pay. The dealership adds thousands in "dealer accessories" that were already installed (original sticker in glove box!) leaving you no real choice but to pay for them. This inflated our out-the-door pricing dramatically. Example: 2025 Hyundai Elantra SEL Sport (Intense Blue) * Internet listed price: $17,938 * Out-the-door: $24,350 * Original sticker listed the features now being "added on" by the dealer That's a dramatic increase and feels like classic bait-and-switch tactics. McKinley Grant was aggressive and apparently did not want to sell a single car to us that day. (We later bought two cars at Norm Reeves Hyundai in Cerritos!) On top of that, this nearly new vehicle had a faulty seatbelt--a serious safety issue and probably illegal to sell. A car with known defects should not even be offered for sale until fixed which was not offered. This experience felt dishonest and unsafe. Further to that, one of the staff started photographing the car and discussed within earshot of everyone that the car was sold over the phone. Very deceptive. I would strongly advise shopping elsewhere. Should've checked Yelp beforehand as this seems to be a pattern. By contrast, I visited Norm Reeves Hyundai in Cerritos. Check my review. Not only did they sell me the car listed on the internet for the actual price, I decided to buy a second car in the same transaction.
