Based on the damage I personally saw, there were wood chips and an indentation on the locker door that made it appear it may have been forced open with a crowbar or similar tool. Previous reviews have also reported vehicles being broken into in the parking lot, making the overall security situation even more alarming. What is even more frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. The situation was handled very poorly. Emails go unanswered, and corporate has been extremely difficult to reach or get any meaningful response from. After an incident involving so many members, I expected much better communication and support instead of feeling like everyone was left to figure things out on their own. Members should be able to work out without worrying about having their cash or valuables stolen in broad daylight. This facility needs stronger security measures, better monitoring of the locker rooms and parking areas, and more visible security personnel. If security is not improved and management does not start taking these incidents seriously, I will no longer be a member. The posted rules clearly state that the hot tub is for ages 12 and older, yet there are regularly groups of children who appear to be well under that age using it. Every now and then a lifeguard comes over and asks about their age, but by now the kids seem to know exactly what to say: "We're 12." The lifeguard accepts the answer and leaves. What's even more frustrating is that after the lifeguard walks away, I've heard some of these kids laughing about the fact that nobody can do anything about it. The issue isn't simply that children are in the hot tub. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with kids enjoying it. The problem is the lack of supervision and enforcement. On numerous occasions I've seen children eating in or around the hot tub, with pieces of food ending up in the water. It's unsanitary and completely unacceptable. I don't know when management and the lifeguard staff stopped caring, but when you're charging some of the highest membership fees in the area, members should expect much better standards. Rules should either be enforced consistently or changed altogether. Another disappointing change is the replacement of many of the water fountains with units that don't clearly show the status of the water filter. Members should be able to easily see whether a filter is functioning properly or needs replacement. For a company that constantly markets itself as being focused on member wellness and health, this seems incredibly ironic. Life Time positions itself as a premium fitness club, but the declining attention to cleanliness, rule enforcement, and member experience makes it harder and harder to justify the premium price.

They have Parents Night Out on the weekends and that's such a nice perk! There's also day camps, which has saved us a few times when we needed child care during a school break. The pool is also wonderful in the summertime. The cafe food is average. I'd love it if the quality was amped up just a bit. The only thing I really ever get is the vegan PB& B shake. It's delicious! It has peanut butter, banana, cafe mocha greens, almond milk, and vegan protein powder. I haven't been to the salon yet, but it's great that this is an option. They said that this location could have offered a courtesy pass but when I brought it up, the staff here, especially the manager Daniel, refused and acted like I didn't matter. It was honestly one of the most unwelcoming gym experiences I've ever had. To compare after leaving LA Fitness, I went to Planet Fitness nearby, and guess what? I'm not even a member there, but they gladly welcomed me in, offered me a free guest pass, and treated me with kindness and respect. Their staff was professional and accommodating, something this LA Fitness location seriously lacks. I've always had great experiences at my home LA Fitness in California, where staff are helpful and friendly. But this Raleigh location made me feel disrespected, unimportant, and embarrassed. I have…read morebeen a member there for just about 9 months and unfortunately sustained an injury that prohibits me from working out, instead of simply giving a doctors note to the actual location and facility I use, Gold's Gym will give you the run around and make you go submit a form with their 3rd party payment provider called Peak Payment Solutions, meanwhile Peak's support takes "5-7 business days" to respond and will keep charging your account. I find it strange that the organization and physical location of the facility you use is unable to do a medical freeze but instead will route you to a 3rd party. I have a suspicion they want to make the process so arduous that the member just gives up and they can continue to collect unjust fees. The FTC just filed a lawsuit against LA Fitness for similar practices. I have logged a complaint with both the FTC and the NC DOJ for bad business practices. If anyone has experienced a similar situation with Gold's Gym, I urge you to do the same and hopefully you don't get injured!!
