For the second time, I have made an appointment at 'My Bicycle' to get my bike fixed and today was the second time I have walked my bicycle all the way from my house to the shop and there was no one there. After I discovered that the shop appeared to be closed, I thought that maybe Cameron might be at lunch or running a little late or something, so I called him. When he answered the phone, he informed me that he was stuck at an 'event' and would not be coming into the shop at all that day (which is what I was told last time he was a no-show at the last appointment that I made with him). When I made the appointment on the phone yesterday, I was assured by Cameron that he would be available all that next day, since he informed me that his shop would be 'closed for the next 2 weeks' after today. I was also told that he would be there to fix my bike for me that 'same day'. He made no mention of any 'event' at that time that he would be attending on the day of our appointment. What I really want to know is, what kind of 'event' he would expect to successfully attend when he made an appointment with me at his shop at 10:30 in the morning? I would also like to ask him how hard it is to call me (he has my name and number) and let me know that he was not not going to be able to keep our appointment, after all? I could have made other arrangements to get my bike fixed elsewhere today. I again had to walk my bike all the way back to my house (about a 2 mile walk, round trip) for nothing... I do not own a car and my bike is my only means of transportation (which I told him), and that my bike is not just for recreational use and is vital for me to get to work and so on. I only have 1 day off a week to get things like this done and I really didn't need the extra aggravation and disappointment. I only wish that Cameron would have just been honest with me on the phone and told that he was not going to be able to keep our appointment, instead of waisting my valuable time. I feel like a real idiot for going all the way back to his shop for a second time, but I really wanted to give him another chance, since I like his shop and it is the closest bike repair business to where I live. There is no way to leave negative stars. After searching for a bike shop open on Sunday, I looked up My Bicycle online. Arriving in the am I wanted a new tube, tire toughie lining and that's it. I was talked into 35 bucks and that sounded high to me. I got a bad attitude and long wait. Next day my commuter bike pops a flat. I return to My Bicycle and discovered they never put the tire lining in. Well thats probably why I got the flat. I knew I would be on a roughish road, so now I'm pissed that they weren't installed. They sold me tire truing, a wobbly axle and tire toughie in the front tire.no service charge since they made a mistake. It's not safe to ride without these changes. 98 bucks. 6 hours. This is my transportation. I did it. Wow. I should really be set for a while, huh? Two weeks later the tires they trued spokes fell out of socket. The back tire had a flat. The new tech said the tire toughie was twisted inside. Not functional. Total jerks. So, thank goodness for my reliable fri. Downtown long beach bike valet, Pedal movement who very quickly fixed all the gears, which were out of alignment. If I didn't know better I'd say the service manager was spiteful about me complaining that he didn't put my tire toughie in. He put two new ones in wrong (which wont protect the tire) and didn't even tweak the gears, ruined a bike wheel with bad truing, and all with a horrible wait, inflated pricing. Don't forget the way too negative attitude. I guess My Bicycle (up your bike) is for people who ride their bike 2 x a year and don't need a safe, working bike daily. p.s. I waited several weeks to calm down to ensure I didn't write in anger. However, I'm still angry. My Bicycle can just close. Hello all for anyone who has bicycle needs or need any assistance or advice, Cameron here @MyBicycle is definitely my go-to person in Long Beach. I even recommended him to all my biking friends and coworkers. This has been my second time going there for some assistance and he never fails. He's like Leonardo Da Vinci with a pair of Allen keys or a wrench on the cycles. He has helped me with working a new brake line and lever that integrates thru my carbon fiber bullhorn handle bars, and it came out pristine with fully functioning capabilities. I never mind the pricing due to the fact that Cameron is good at what he does, he's always reasonable on it. Brought my bike into this shop since I had a flat tire that I didn't feel comfortable with repairing by myself. It took the mechanic hours to repair probably cause other people were ahead of me. A week later, another flat. Not a place I'd recommend. Didn't see any fixed prices and it seems that the person working there was just winging it. Very unprofessional. =-( Ended up going to Biker Mania where they had multiple people so it was cheaper, quicker and easier! read more

Cameron is a true gentleman and uber honest. Brought my two vintage Trek carbon fiber bikes for tire replacement after long term storage. Cameron checked all four tires and said they were fine and even filled them for me with no charge for his time, air, and inspection. I think any other shop would have just sold me 4 tires without any inspection.. Will recommend him and his shop to every biker I know. Thanks Cameron, wish there were more people like you out there.. I met Cameron about 3 months ago,.. I was in search of my first Road Bike. From the outset he was knowledgeable and cordial. I did get a 2,000$ road bike from a shop in San Pedro , with a good reputation.. Turns out these guys did not live up to their reputation. Once I showed the bike to Cameron, he immediately began to point out all the things that were wrong with this expensive bike.. Fixed everything at a very reasonable price.. I'm new to Road Bikes and Cameron has been a Top Notch Shop Owner & honest broker since we met. The Bike shop that i purchased a 2,000$ road bike from, have been dishonest and pretty useless. A bike shop in San Pedro with a very good reputation I might add. Cameron came to the rescue and helped me get these guys to admit that they were selling me a bill of goods and shoddy equipment. Just read on a neighborhood posting site about two people finding their stolen bikes in this shop ... I would be wary of purchasing anything here as I do believe if it is later identified as stolen you may not have much recourse. Perhaps if everyone stopped buying used bikes at this shop it might result in a decrease in the current spree of bike stealing going on in the Belmont Shore area of Long Beach. read more

Should be 0 stars, this place may have a reputation for stocking/selling stolen bikes. Several local message boards report that bikes recently stolen within the area have been recovered from this shop. Follow up posts allege this has been going on for years. Support this business at the cost of your own conscience. read more

One stop shop for all things cool. Bicycles, custom skateboards, and hand shaped surfboards by the owner. Had my bike repaired and it was done lightning fast for a great price. AVOID. *Shady car mechanic turned bike mechanic* That has been my personal experience twice at this store. Take your chances. I would highly recommend avoiding this bicycle shop at all costs and to visit a more reputable bicycle repair shop like the bicycle stand, city grounds, or Jones'. read more

I brought my bike to this shop after bringing it to two different places without success, and I was pleasantly surprised. If you want a legitimate bicycle douche bag to work on your bike and rip you off, then you've absolutely come to the right place. If you've recently had a bike stolen, doesn't be surprised if the owner bought it from some cracked out homeless person for $20 so he can sell it for $400. read more

Great job done by Cameron to maintain my old bike ! It needed new brakes pads, spoke change on a wheel, and full cleaning/adjustment. All was done quickly and professionally and the result is a shining bike :) read more
