This was my encounter with Stanton optical on Sheridan. My wife and I went there because the last optometrist wouldn't accept the new insurance offered thru my place of employment. First of all, I called the phone number to arrange an appointment. The gentleman was very pleasant. Stanton could see us that day. It wasn't until I received the conformation text, that I found out the appointment was for McCallan TX....not Lawton OK....so another phone call ensured. My wife and I had appointments at the same time....it makes it easy. Had to answer the complete questionnaire...again, not an issue. I wear contacts, and so had to remove mine for a through eye exam. My wife wears glasses. So, after the exam, was when we found out that our insurances don't stack. My health insurance allows an eye exam every other year. The vision plan allows an eye exam every year. Because of this....we have virtually no out of pocket expenses every year. We found out that Stanton doesn't allow the plans to stack....so you can't use both to pay.....so we had small co pays....unusual....but not an issue. From reading everything, I was aware that the optometrist was telemed.....IE, you see and speak to the Dr over video....I WASN'T aware that we would have NO CONTACT with him at all. The physician is D.O.....not an ophthalmologist....nor an optometrist. The physician wouldn't fill the contact prescription because my eyes were irritated from taking out my contacts (and allergies), but I wasn't allowed to speak to him.....but I was allowed to come back in for another eye exam within the next 30 days (for free....after that I would have to pay). So, I paid for an eye exam, but no contacts. My wife had decided on the 2 pairs of glasses for 79 dollars....which wound up being 212.00. Multifocal.....polycarbonate, antiglare...etc (they upcharge you for everything) This is 212 out of pocket....never had to pay that before....but we were told that it would be more expensive if we used the insurance. My wife had broken her glasses.....so we had to do something.....so OK....FINE. A week later the glasses came in. We went to pick them up.....the girl there very nice, but the glasses were NOT fitted in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. So Lawton....RUN, don't WALK AWAY from STANTON OPTICAL on Sheridan and GORE. read more

Posting on behalf of my husband: My experience at Stanton Optical was not great in many ways. While the staff was friendly, the whole process was unclear and confusing. They refused to submit my eye examination to insurance unless I bought frames from them. I'm very confused as to why I cannot just get an eye exam and not be forced to pick out glasses on the spot. There was no doctor in the office, which I was not informed of prior to my examination. The examination was performed virtually and for the whole second half on my examination, the lenses were fogged up like a bathroom mirror after a hot shower. Despite me informing the provider, nothing was done to correct this issue and make sure I had a valid examination. Needless to say, I have zero confidence that the prescription they say I need is valid. The whole experience felt impersonal and like I was just being sold lenses the entire time versus actually evaluating this new vision issue I was experiencing. I do not feel great about this exam and will have to pay to seek a second opinion as I don't feel comfortable with my overall experience and don't feel like my questions were answered at all. Although all the employees I dealt with at the branch were very polite and helpful, not so much if you go higher up than that. I ordered some eyeglasses, this is my first time there and things just felt a little shady. From no doctor in person to an extra $40 in taxes added to my bill that they couldn't explain and said they would remove no problem. After I got home and had only been a couple hours. I called and canceled my order. She said no problem and refunded me my portion. However they kept the money from the insurance company and now I cannot get glasses anywhere else. I've been dealing with the corporate office for over a month and keep getting the same story. It's been sent to the highest priority and will be resolved within 48 hours. After four phone calls of that, I called my insurance company and they did let me know that it was only a matter of $120. So I just decided to pay the money myself because my glasses that I have waiting on order are more expensive. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company in my whole life. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

One year later, I don't think our prescriptions were ever right, my glasses "work" but I have to really adjust them in order to see we'll, and I completely wasted my money on the contacts because if I want to read anything I have to wear my glasses with them, what's the point read more

We had an appointment at 10 am. Walked in at 9:45. Nobody was in there. Had to make noise and yell hello. Finally a lady came out. Told me to take a seat in the waiting room. I didn't get called in til almost 45 minutes later. Then they checked my eyes with 3 different machines. Then I was put in a room by myself and with the Dr. on a video screen. After I was done with the Dr after the exam. I was told to wait Til the Dr. Signs off on the exam. I waited for at least half an hour. Then I was told the Dr. didn't sign off on the exam. And then was told I had to take the exam again with a different Dr on the screen again. After that 2nd exam I was told again to wait for this 2nd Dr. to sign off. I waited for another half hour only to be told that the 2nd Dr. Didn't sign off either. I never ever had that happen with an optomitrist. Then they charged me $79 failed exams and no glasses and no lenses. The Dr. eye exam was supposedly free the ad says. And 2 pair of glasses with lenses. So why was I charged $79 and got nothing !!!!!! IT'S A SCAM !!!!!!! IT SHOULD OF BEEN NO CHARGE AT ALL !!!!!!! read more

My experience was AMAZING! I needed help finding the best choice of glasses for my self and family. Madison was amazing in helpful of finding the best choices. She was kind and very helpful. She made everything clear nothing was confusing. I really advise more people to make reviews. This was a great experience and will be coming back for many more years. read more

Bought lenses 7 month ago from Staton optical of Lawton with great service and price. Broke my work glasses recently and thought I would return to the location where I bought and had lenses put in (I had my own frames). The manager helping me tried sell me lenses for $900.00 which are the same prescription that I had purchased 7 months prior. How did the cost of my lenses go $180.00 from June 2024 to $900.00 January 2025???? The manager told me that that the salesperson who sold me the lenses previous may have given me all these discounts and that's why the cost lenses were so cheap but oddly when I ask her to look up my information in their database to see what discount was given, she was very reluctant to do so and she didn't know the salesperson and she said the lady didn't work there any longer but she didn't know her name but made it clear she had been manager at that store for 2 years but didn't know the salesperson who worked there in June . Once I decided the store vibe was different from June 2024, I told her thank you and I'll go somewhere more reasonable and at that time she started to decrease the price of the lenses from $900.00 to $600.00 and then down to $400,00 and then she asks me what I wanted to pay ..Seriouly!!!... I told even discounted to her low-price offer of $400.00 it was still too high for the lenses that I just bought for $180.00 in June 2024. In ending I went to Eye Mart and got taken care and used my military discount and got the same lenses for about some price but without the car buying hassle ...haha .. Concern consumer. read more

I got my glasses in February in October I noticed the edges were not right they bubbled (looks like to me) I called My eyelab now the new name since i bought them in February not even a year old they will not do anything cuz I didn't buy the insurance for the lenses but, if the frames broke they will fix them for a year I emailed the manager she said to email her I did. no response that was in October I called the company they won't do anything so be prepared to have bad lenses Go somewhere else!! Have to add a star. My Eye lab /Stanton Optical do not deserve any star. Purchase two pair of eye wear at My Eye lab /Stanton Optical. I was told that they had a protection plan for the lens. The cost is $25.00. I purchase this plan. The lens on both pair started peeling. I took the pair that had the worst peeling in for repair. I was told that it was caused by dry rubbing and that that pair was not cover under the $25.00 plan and it would cost me to replace the lens. I explained that I didn't do any dry rubbing, I have been cleaning eye glasses for years and never had this type of problem before. Had the other pair taken in for service because it started peeling (this pair was cover by the $25.00 plan). Was told that $191.44 was needed for lens and $25.00 for the warranty. Spoke to a person who said that I have to pay 20% of the cost. I reply that this was not mention at the time of the purchase. I mention that was fraud. There are many complaints on My Eye lab /Stanton Optical about the service and lens peeling. read more

Update to the Update! Okay. So I had a bit of a meltdown in the store about allll of this. Granted, the store themselves was not completely aware of the extent of my frustrations. Corporate likes to try to be the middleman for some reason. But being in the store where they are able to actually handle it first hand, they did. And they did make things right for me. Though it may be difficult, have patience and use voice your feelings. The people that work here do care. read more
