There were lots of flavors to pick from but the college student hidden inside me insisted on these flavors. The strawberry has a soft jam filling and yummy crust with the strawberry glaze. The cinnamon had a hard cinnamon sugar mix inside with a cinnamon glaze on top of the same flaky yummy crust. The crust is really good, good enough to eat plain! Flaky and crispy and delicious. I think the strawberry filling would be amazing with something like cream cheese or Mascarpone to cut the sweetness ,speaking just for myself. The cinnamon is good as is. Maybe spread the filling more evenly. But well worth calling and ordering and definitely will be popular with kids , young and college age and anyone who's holding a coffee cup.

Park Edge sells it in logs rather than the squares I'm used to seeing. My husband thought the chocolate was a bit thick but I'm under the believe if you're eating chocolate then there's no such thing as too much. Personal taste. We got the dark chocolate and it was excellent, creamy and smooth with a bit of a carmel flavor on the sponge interior. We also purchased some sugar free chocolates which is what I normally eat. Today I tried the peanut butter filled. Lol you don't want to eat too much of that at one sitting. The chocolate was just as good as the regular which is no small feat. Cuccidati Inc. had a booth at the event ... and they had me at the word "cuccidati". :-D LOVE these cookies! If you are unfamiliar, cuccidati are iced-and-sprinkled fig-filled Italian cookies. They're like a soft, delectable, gourmet, top-shelf, high-class, prettier Fig Newton, but way better, haha. Whenever I see an Italian cookie spread at a gathering, I always b-line for dibbs on the cuccidati. And Cuccidati Inc.'s cuccidati did not disappoint! These were a bit different from cuccidati I've had before. They weren't quite as sweet, not as thick-white of an icing as usual. And the filling seemed more natural, like more purely fig, as opposed to the more artificial extract flavor of some cuccidati. I do like the creamier cuccidati filling I'm used to, with more of a jam consistency. But these were good too, you could feel chewy bits of real fig fruit in each bite. If you prefer a cookie that isn't too rattle-your-teeth-sweet, you will probably enjoy Cuccidati Inc.'s cookies very much. We spoke with the owners when we were at the fresh-air market, and they were very sweet and friendly. They of course bake their namesake, but also bake many other cookies too. They don't have their own storefront, they sell by order, or at local venues and events. They had a big banner hanging out front that said they sold Buffalo's famous sponge candy, so I knew I had to stop in. This small family-owned candy shop looks like it's been a neighborhood staple for years. It's been open since 1947! The sweet older lady at the counter was very welcoming to us as tourists, and even offered plenty of free samples for us to try. Now that I've tried it, I will say that sponge candy isn't my favorite. But we wanted something uniquely Buffalo to take home, and ended up purchasing a few variety bags. They also sell chocolates in pretty little designs and cookies too, all handmade! I couldn't resist a flower-shaped chocolate on a stick, which set me back about $2.50. I enjoyed it on the plane and it was very good chocolate. If you want to support a local business and shop local, Ko-Ed Candies is the place! There's limited street parking and it's located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, so be aware that it may be difficult to find a spot on busy days.
