Came here on a whim while in the area. Starting off, they are extremely welcoming and pet friendly which is always a plus in my book. It's your typical small cafe with cute and cozy decor. I even spotted a few Remys (from Ratatouille) which brought a smile to my face since that's my dog's name! :) We ordered 2 sandwiches, an orange juice and a latte. Careful the prices on the menu is not what it rings up at the register, they charge between 10-30 cents more per item. It's just the principal of the overcharging not the amount that they do overcharge you for. The service is the I don't care attitude at their own leisure cell phone usage at the register while people are trying to pay or order. The poor reviews are undeserved (as far as I can tell... today). The ambiance is bright and cheery. The counter staff was welcoming, if not a bit distracted (by other co-workers). I think one of them might be new, and training. However, the food is lovely and delicious. I really enjoy food that is pretty, especially desserts! These gorgeous desserts are VERY good. Very small inside but that gives it a cozy feel. They have a great selection of savory and sweet pastries, beautifully presented, along with hot breakfast and lunch items and a great variety of coffee choices. It was hard to decide on one thing to order because everything sounded and looked so good. I went with the breakfast sandwich, a Swiss and bacon omelette inside a croissant, with fresh fruit. My mom ordered a spinach and Swiss croissant, (with the béchamel sauce on the side). I also got just one plain hot croissant for my two year old son. The food came out quickly and very fresh. The portions were HUGE! You definitely get what you pay for. I very much enjoyed my entire breakfast. My mom said hers was delicious and didn't need the béchamel (I'm glad I tried it because I wasn't a fan of the sauce either). The omelette was a bit dry, and could have used a bit more bacon. The croissant was the start of the show for sure. I had a bite of my son's plain croissant and next time I'll just get that. By far the best croissant I've had anywhere in town. I ordered a lavender latte as well and thought it was delicious. I'd ask for a bit less sweetness next time but still a wonderful drink. I'd love to try some of the pasties next time! read more

5 Stars for pastries that WOW. I was recently gifted a box of assorted patisseries by a friend and immediately texted her after opening the box to ask where she got these. The box had a pear pastry, blueberry, lemon merengue, and what I think was an apricot pastry. My hubby and I split them all up, thinking they'd last a few days. LOL We were wrong. We finished them in one sitting. We each had different favorites, but the blueberry and lemon were top of my list. What I most appreciated was that these were not overly sweet. They reminded me of pastries I've gotten in Europe, where the palette is more subtle. Overall a big fan! read more

In short, horrible ambiance, bad service and bad & missing foods & drinks. Service was horrible, they weren't rude, but not accommodating either. The ambiance was horrible and it was so hot, although it's t summer it was literally cooler outside than it was inside. As for the food, we ordered drinks and food, the only thing that arrived is stuff from the kitchen (vegetarian crepe with home fries) and the dessert. Which the fries were stale but the crepe wasn't too bad, and properly filled. As for the rest of the food & drinks that never arrived, when I first asked about literally almost the entire order missing (minus the crepe and dessert), he & he knew who messed up, he literally left me to deal with the restaurant drama in the kitchen, like I had to wait for my issues to be addressed. I received the baked items to-go, the drinks were refunded; and yes, they received the tip on the full bill during the ordering process (above 20%). My friends, family and I ended up going to another restaurant to have breakfast and thankfully we received everything we ordered there. read more

I ordered a fruit tart, which was tasty and was topped by fresh berries (strawberries and blueberries). The service and ambiance are great here and they have a lovely shaded courtyard where you can spend time uninterrupted. I will say the European fruit tart at Publix is better than what I had- more diverse mix of berries, and the pate a sucre crust is more moist and tasty and they usually seal it with a chocolate shell. I've visited this place many times and always had a good experience--until today. I had to meet my realtor to sign some documents and brought my 16-month-old with me. My realtor ordered while I got my child settled in a high chair. The food came out quickly, and the restaurant was fairly busy. The reason for my 1-star review is the behavior of the waitress who brought our food--a younger woman with glasses. When she arrived at the table, she held the plates out for us to grab, lingered, looked my son up and down, noticed he had dropped a few crackers on the floor, and then said "oh my god" with a look of complete disgust. I responded, "I'm sorry?" and was about to offer to clean up, but she rolled her eyes and stormed off before I could say anything else. I was genuinely shocked by how judgmental and unkind she was. My realtor noticed what happened and told me not to worry, but it left me wondering how she treats other guests with children. From that point on, I rushed to sign the documents. I didn't eat my food and asked for a box so we could leave. During the roughly 20 minutes we were there, the same waitress came back twice more just to stare at us in a way that made me extremely uncomfortable. I've never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. Had she simply said nothing, I wouldn't be writing this, but after this experience, I don't think I'll be returning. read more

The croissants are chewy, flaky and buttery, so good. The tiramisu was really good, I loved the taste of the vanilla custard vs mascarpone, it had a very good balance and not too sweet. Come hungry to My French Cafe because the portions are generous and the food is great! We stopped by for lunch and had a croque monsieur and a club sandwich. Both sandwiches came with a bag of chips. The club was MASSIVE, you can totally share this. The bread was amazing...had a great crunch and the toppings were fresh. The croque monsieur was great ... can't really beat a sandwich topped with cheese! For dessert, we ordered a chocolate tarte that was just the icing to a delicious meal. It was really rich, so I'm glad we split our dessert instead of getting one each. The restaurant is in a shopping center, so parking is really easy. I spend a lot of money here. In part, because my wife, who used to live in France, is hopelessly addicted to croissants. In all fairness, the croissants here are friggin awesome. Large, airy, crispy and buttery. As they should be. Baked fresh daily, these are the best croissants I have ever had outside of France. And, they are they most expensive. At best $4 each, you may want to get a HELOC before you think about bringing home a box. I was in Paris recently and croissants are $1.50. Certainly the cost of labor and other ingredients cannot be less in one of the world's most expensive cities. But I suppose the lack of competition here is to blame. What are my alternatives? Publix? Ewww fake croissants. Or how about that other local chain "The French Cafe"? Asides from the obvious confusion with "My French Cafe" their croissants are a distant second and they're not even made in the store! I guess I am screwed. In a delicious way perhaps? read more

I would have never found this place if someone wouldn't have pointed it out, its a small little restaurant in the Publix strip mall. I will now be making time to come here - the food was that good. After seeing all of the delectable baked goods, I knew I needed a sandwich on the croissant, which was a perfect idea. The croissant was perfectly baked and had great flavor. After asking the staff, I ended up with the CBR (Chicken, bacon, ranch) and a side salad. This was a perfect meal! The portion was great, the flavor was great, and the salad was an awesome healthy alternative. I know I need to go back because I saw the Caesar Salad and it looked incredible (and it's huge!). At first, he said he'd give us the refund no problem, but as the cashier was giving us our money back, he started insulting us. "How long have you lived in france for to judge a quiche?" "I guess your pallets are too refined for my restaurant." We didn't want any trouble, we just didn't want to eat an old, sad, dry, disgusting quiche, but the owner clearly couldn't control himself. The croque monsier was really sad. It skimped on the bechamel sauce, and the cheese on top was barely melted and the bread, as a result, was soggy. The only okay thing was the veggie sandwich on a French baguette. The bread was crispy and yummy, but the veggies were saturated in either oil or butter, and there was way too much feta. I would not recommend eating here, given how we were treated as customers and at the quality of food you get. Just because someone is French doesn't mean they automatically make amazing French food, so try a different French cafe in the area. read more

Today was our first visit in a little bit and I was reading the reviews as we sat on the patio and I could see the good and the less than good. Food in my opinion has always been very good, delicious, temperature appropriate. Breakfast options I love, the pastries always seem fresh and unique. Price is a tough one. Service is where unfortunately this review is really being brought down on. Started off fine, and overall the staff very friendly in the few interactions I have had. However we were 2 of a total of 5 people (other 3 had been there already) and 1/2 our order came out incorrect; no big deal it happens. But then it took forever to get it back (croissant & cheese, that's all). Eventually I had to go inside to grab it. For an omelette & croissant it felt we waited more than we should have.
