I'm a little upset because I specifically asked the waitress to make sure no pork comes to our table in case it's in any of the original recipes. I ask that wherever I go because we don't eat pork and you never know what may have pork in it. My mom ordered the El Rancho Omlette. My mom asked for no bellpeppers, but right before that, I asked the waitress to make sure none of our orders have pork of any kind. NO PORK for the whole table. I didn't realize what my mom ordered, said round beef, then sausage in the description until I got home to do the yelp review and she didn't remember the name of what she ordered so I looked on my receipt to see the name so I can identify it in the pictures. I dislike it very much when people don't make it a priority to ensure people orders aren't 100% correct, especially when it comes to ingredients they specifically ask not to be included in their food. It is a religious reason and a personal reason we don't eat pork, and it just upsets me knowing it is in our bodies. I asked they waitress if you have a chicken sausage option, and she said no. I said, "What about turkey bacon sausage?" She said no. I said you really need to have other options for people other than pork. She said, "I know." Npt everyone eats pork. I couldn't have the chicken fried steak because the gravey has pork. Besides the highly upsetting experience of us being served pork and eating it even though I clearly asked for no pork. The good was ok, just ok. I got the crab omelet thinking it was going to be amazing because the description said real crab meat. But I actually didn't like it and wouldn't order it again if I went there. I asked for strawberries on my pancakes just like I asked for strawberries to be put on my nieces' french toast. But what I got was a few fresh strawberries, and they got a good-sized pile of whole semi smashed strawberries with the juice oozing on the plate. The price was the same. Why did they give me something different when I asked for the samething for all 3 of us. I'm not happy with that either. My order came with hasbrowns, and my niece ordered a side of hashbrowns, which was almost double what I got. I'm not happy with that either. $100 for 4 people breakfast is a little steep even with today's prices. I would have left no tip if I knew the mistake was made with the pork. I'm giving 2 stars and not 1 star only because the food was ok, not horrible. First and last time, I will be there because of the multiple issues. Not only for that reason, but there are better breakfast options in the area I would rather visit.

I was driving and making a delivery in Motown and hunger hit me something fierce. I'm not terribly familiar with the area so I looked to old faithful...Yelp. I scanned for a few minutes and came up with two places. My Garden Cafe was one and who cares about the other. I arrived peak bfast hours but was able to grab a seat at the counter. It was like entering a room of new oxygen. The hostess and wait staff were all smiles and very accommodating. I was given a menu, what a selection. I opted for a garden omelette w/ ham my version of a Denver omelette, hash browns and they had fried okra which is one of my favorites. The plates flew by they were loaded with breakfast goodness. My omelette came...oh boy what a treat. There were tons of veggies, hash browns were perfect, I like mine only lightly brown and okra...chefs kiss. I couldn't finish it all so had more for the next day. Then there was another layer of goodness...they didn't kill my pocket. If you're in the Modesto area and crave breakfast this place will not disappoint.

My kids love this place! The strawberry jam is their favorite along with the ginormous pancakes. Great spot for breakfast!

What a lovely place, it easily gets crowded though but we were seated soon. Service is quick & the staff are friendly. They have big servings but not overwhelming. The area is clean and noise level is minimum.

Country comes to town (this is everything you would expect if you were in an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies (70s show...research it). The decor is always country and the staff is as friendly as southern living. This day my fiancée trastes us to brunch at this great place (never disappoints). My bride had the usual chili verde (large potion packed with huge flavor). I had the garden omelette (the veggies were fresh and cooked to perfection, plump and full of flavor). I chased it with hotcakes and white toast and blue berry jam (ask for some to go...it's amazing). Oh! Dont drink the water (trust me...coffee is better...lol Bring the family and enjoy some brunch in the country right in the middle of town and remember..."Great CUSTOMERS get great CUSTOMER SERVICE." - Carlo

Chicken Fried Chicken w/ buttermilk biscuit and home fries - 5/5 Huge portions. The strawberry jam was so good. Everything was seasoned well. Located in a somewhat industrial area bordering the countryside, it feels like a well-kept local secret--but judging by the crowd, the secret is definitely getting out. We arrived early and were told that the restaurant would become busy. Sure enough, within about 15 minutes, the entrance was jam-packed with people waiting for tables. We were also told that if we had waited until 11:00, we might never have gotten in! The Biscuit Basket serves breakfast and lunch only, and apparently plenty of people know to arrive early. The interior has a pleasant, country-simple décor that feels comfortable and welcoming. Even more impressive was the exceptionally friendly staff. Our server, Adrian, was personable and attentive. He checked on us several times, kept the coffee filled, and made sure the tea was taken care of. Another gentleman delivered our meals and also took time to talk with us. He asked whether we needed anything else and enthusiastically described our selections as some of their best dishes. He was not merely delivering plates--he was proud of what he was serving and continued selling the experience as he went along. The food was delicious. We had biscuits and gravy, I had an omelet, and we both had fresh fruit. Sharon particularly remarked on the quality of the fruit, and I noticed it as well. Restaurants sometimes serve fruit that is underripe or past its prime, but this appeared to have been selected carefully. Everything was fresh, properly ripe, and right on point. We also learned that the people behind the Biscuit Basket have connections to several other successful local restaurant businesses associated with Dan Costa. That experience certainly shows. From the food and service to the smallest details, everything was done exactly right. The Biscuit Basket easily earns five out of five stars--and deserves bonus credit for getting the entire experience right. It was wonderful to see a local business doing so well, and we will definitely return.

The food was just your typical diner type, greasy spoon kind of place. I got an egg white omelette with ham (looked like cut up pieces of thin sliced deli meat) and asked that fresh potatoes be boiled in water or steamed in water due to food allergy. What I got was fried potatoes. When I questioned the server he just said that's how they come. Do they not have raw potatoes in the back they could have boiled for me?? The taste of the omelette was meh and I only ate 4 bites. I obviously didn't eat the potatoes. The English Muffin felt oily, like someone touched it with greasy hands. I had asked for it to be dry and with no butter. So basically I didn't eat any of my food and will not be back (this was my third time here and none of the other experiences were any better.) Such a shame because it is only 5-minutes from my house. My dad ordered the chicken fried steak and my mom got the taco salad and both of their meals were inedible too. The food here is just BAD. I told the server I didn't like my food and he didn't even answer me. He took away three plates of uneaten food and no one asked if there was an issue and no manager bothered to come over to even talk to us or try and make it right. What a HUGE waste of money. Don't bother eating here...so many other places to eat that are so much better. This place was packed and no real waiting area...everyone just squished together. This is a hustling and bustling place, so if you are looking for a quiet spot, at least don't go when we did. Best part of this place is their wall for taking pictures. I think they care more about making things look IG worthy, than the quality of the product they are serving.

They rolled with it without hesitation, which I always appreciate. My wife was meeting me a little later, and they timed everything beautifully. The food was on the table only about five minutes before she arrived, and with warm sandwiches and soup involved, the timing mattered. Everything was just the right temperature when we sat down to eat. We both ordered the Uptown Gal--roast beef, giardiniera, Dijon aioli, arugula, and white cheddar on house focaccia. The flavors were spot on, and these are substantial sandwiches. In fact, next time we could probably share one. We also shared the jalapeño Parmesan artichoke dip, which was excellent. We enjoyed some there and brought the rest home. The soups didn't have the same opportunity--we polished those off pretty quickly. Very flavorful. The iced tea was clearly freshly brewed and quite strong, which I actually prefer because I can adjust it to taste. It came in a generously sized glass as well. Lucille is a small place, but they've made very good use of the space. The interior is attractive and has a slightly modern, new-age feel. There was a steady stream of people dining in and picking up orders, and it wouldn't take many more customers to fill the place. I also noticed a nice wine selection and an espresso machine. One other thing stood out: the employees seemed genuinely happy to be there. Lots of smiles and a pleasant atmosphere throughout our visit. Excellent food, generous portions, good timing, and a staff willing to accommodate a customer who showed up a little ahead of schedule. An easy five stars from us.
