A great little place to grab lunch. The service is fast even during the lunch rush. They are well staffed and have a pretty large space. Getting a table for a larger party is hard to come by during lunch, but tables vacate quickly enough that we could have lunch in smaller groups of 4. The dishes were unexpected but good. We were looking for a lunch option after visiting the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins. Found "My Grandma's Empanadas" was close by and opened due to testing extended hours on Fridays. As we like to support local when we travel, we went here. All of the employees were very kind and helpful. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner's daughter and she was a delight. The food was very good as we tried 4 different empanadas, our favorites were the spicier ones. The apple dessert empanada is a must. Portions are very good size and affordable. You can purchase empanadas individually ($3 each) or in combos that include a drink and a side which makes it an even better value. We shared a 4 empanada combo with the wedge salad with balsamic dressing, that was a great choice as it was delicious. In total, I would highly recommend this as your lunch choice when visiting the Aviation Museum or Robins AFB. Great people and fantastic food! read more

Had lunch with some coworkers here. Everything seemed promising from the amount of customers they had lined up. I ordered chicken, beef, and guava along with a side of their imported salsa. All tasted okay, but the guava was my favorite. The amount of filling compared to how they looked threw me off. Their dough seemed to be very thin which is how they plump up so big. I'm a regular here and often bring new people to try this place but after today, I probably won't be going back much, if at all. I like supporting small local businesses but I was shocked at how rude the owner was to my friend who asked her a simple question. If the menu or rules changed then just say so, don't be nasty about it. Rather than saying "oh I'm sorry, my employees were not supposed to do that before or we don't do that anymore," the owner decided to say "well I've only been the owner here for 8 years and we've never done that" in a nasty tone. Wellll, obviously y'all have because I go often with my friend and she always gets extra stuffing in her avocado and we've been coming here for years so that's not the customer's fault if your employees were doing something incorrectly. My friend Lynn knew the lovely young woman who owns this great spot. We went to lunch there and when I say spectacular I mean it.customer service is awesome but not to be outshined by the quality and tasteful food. Such a nice surprise for me. Came here on lunch from Robins AFB. We came at the perfect time, soon after the line was almost out the door and I can see why. Customer service was superb, they were quick and super helpful as it was our first time here. I ordered the 3 empanada combo with drink and side. The chicken, beef, and apple were AMAZING. Nice and crispy on the outside, soft and tasty on the inside. I will definitely be back. I loved the touch of local pictures and that home style feel. I'm assuming "grandma" was the one we saw behind the bar area actually hand making these empanadas. I did it. I fell for their 4.5 star rating. If you're looking for a traditional Spanish empanada, this is not the place for it. Very much lacking the Spanish sabor. I ordered a spicy beef empanada for a whopping $3 each and let me tell you, I ate halfway through it before I even got to the filling. The "spice" gives off a strong vinegar/tabasco type flavor so if you're into that, you'll love it. Want salsa with your empanada? They charge 50 cents for a small 1oz container of habanero salsa so multiple containers sure add up (see pic for what looked (and tasted) more like a spicy apple cider vinegar than a salsa.) One thing I love about their restaurant is the fact that their meat and produce are locally sourced. I love that they support local farmers and the local economy. read more

Based on the people I was with and the bite I had, the empanadas are decent. The servers were very friendly! Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the decision from the owner to not replace the empanada I had that contained only one apple slice and barely any sauce. She told me all of their empanadas were based on weight. Even after I squeezed out the inside of the empanadas to illustrate the lack of filling she just shrugged her shoulders. Visiting some friends in Perry, they recommended this place after hearing friends and neighbors raving about the empanadas from their food truck. Trusting their judgement, we drove to the restaurant for the unique offerings. I did not know how may ways empanadas could be made, but this place enlightened me to the sweet and savory options possible. Even though I was intrigued by the sweet empanadas, I decided to play it safe with one beef and one chicken empanada as part of the 2 empanada combo. This is a great deal, with a choice of unique side and drink; I went with the stuffed avocado and was happy I did. As a bonus, this meal sat well as we went to play golf in the heat immediately afterwards. If you're near the Air Force base and hungry around lunchtime, give this place a try. I had spicy beef, goat, and bean empanadas with the rice. My husband had the mild beef and marketfresh with the plantain chips. My brother got a spicy chicken, spicy beef, and an ATW (chorizo) with the stuffed avocado. And my mom got the soup and a wedge salad. It was all EXCELLENT! I really enjoyed all of mine, the goat tasted like a cross between shredded pork and beef. The spicy beef was not too spicy and the bean also included salsa like stuffing. My hubs said he wished he would have gotten a pork one and felt that the marketfresh needed more feta. My brother's favorite was the ATW. In past visits, I have also heard the restaurant owner belittle, yell, argue, and mistreat employees. Aside from this, Rikki Waite, the restaurant's owner, openly supports Trump on Facebook. Think about how this is a restaurant founded on another country's food and culture, with family members being immigrants, yet makes public statements. The food was fresh and excellently prepared, the service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I had more empanadas than I should have, but I don't even regret it! And honestly I want to thank them for some of the most delicious empanadas I've ever had (especially the dessert guava-berry n' cream one). This place had such a comforting ambiance with local paintings and graffiti wall art despite it being a hole in the wall in front of the Warner Robins Air base! The food came out super quickly, I'd say even quicker than Jimmy Johns. It was warm and fresh! My favorite was definitely the beef empanada where they had the option of either a mild or spicy (I went with the mild). It had a good kick to it that made you want more (and the prices we're affordable between $2-3) And the customer service was just the cherry on top! They were okay. My dad brought hone about 12-14. Had beef, chicken and pork. Very different from the empanadas I had in Puerto Rico which I was obsessed with. These were not filled completely. The ones we had were filled at about half way. The first bite or two was hollow with just crust. I ate 4 and I wasn't full. The flavor was okay too. My day off consists of coming here to have lunch with my hunny off base and ordering a #3 with 3 spicy chicken empanadas, half an avocado and a Mexican coke. I add extra spice and there is plenty of different hot sauces to choose from for that extra spicy flavor. The portion is small for the price but local and fresh can cost. The best deal is the half avocado with the combo. This place is satisfying without being overfilling. FYI : This is american cuisine with influence from Panama heritage.
