My daughter is one years old and loves this place. The staff are so warm, sweet, and friendly. My daughter warmed up to them so quickly. Couldn't be happier with our membership here. It's been three sessions and I already see a difference in my son (2 years old.) The teachers are wonderful and keep the kids engaged and happy. They always have an upbeat, positive attitude which is inviting not only to the children but to the families also. You can tell they really care. We were on the fence about signing up before we attended our guest class because of the negative reviews on here. But honestly, take a closer look at what the negative reviews say. "I didn't like the birthday party for my daughter." "The parking is difficult." Waa, cry me a river - It's Queens. Of course the parking is difficult. Go find a side street. (Eye roll emoji) Anyway, 10/10 would recommend. This place is a total hidden gem in Fresh Meadows. I feel confident about my son attending school in the fall because these classes are fun yet structured with free play as well as circle time segments. This review is for a birthday party we had here for my daughter's first birthday. We were looking for a place where my daughter could play and have fun, while her slightly older cousins and friends could enjoy as well. And boy was this the place... They offer activities for kids ranging from infants upto about 10 years old. They have trampolines, balance beams, play gyms, a rock wall, and even a zip line to name a few... We saw online they offer a free trial class, as they offer group classes broken up by age. So we took advantage of that to get a better idea of what they have to offer. Needless to say we really enjoyed the class and decided to hold her birthday there. The two girls (who looked surprising young) were the facilitators for both the class and the birthday party. I must admit when I arrived at the party and only saw the two girls I was a little concerned how they would handle the crazy kids in my family. Having said that, I would request them again in the future. They were amazing, great with the kids and very professional. They managed the children very well and was great with every age group there. They managed the use of the activities excellently, every kids that wanted to try it had an equal opportunity (except the birthday girl of course, who had special treatment :) ). Did a free trial class here last Saturday. Its right on union turnpike, meter parking in front or you can pay at the garage (its on the 3rd floor so if you use the garage, its easier to get to). We arrive, pop music playing, teachers very welcoming! My daughters 11 months, so she's already intrigued....lol The place: Lots of bright fun colors everywhere, slides, small trampoline, rock climbing wall, small obstacle things for the kids to play in, small area in front with benches, a coat rack and cubby holes for shoes. They also have lots of hooks hanging from the ceiling so they can bring out swings and hook other stuff up. Its kind of small, but they only let a certain amount of kids into the classes, so its not crowed. The experience: there classes go by age group....so we attended tiny waddlers, which I think goes up to 18 months. We start off sitting in a circle doing some simple exercises, then they get to play and explore, teachers bring out fun stuff like swings, and put up a tent with a maze in it. The crowd was cool, parents watching there kids, teachers were really attentive and great with the kids. They did a short puppet show, and sang some songs with us. My daughter loved it! Why not five stars??? The classes are really early, they don't have afternoon class options. My daughter is not an early riser, and we still need time for dressing and feeding before we go. Had to wake her up, she enjoyed herself but took an extra long nap in the afternoon....lol Seems like a nice place for my daughters 1st birthday! read more

I am so disappointed I need to leave this review. I visited this gym with my daughter. Class was disorganized and all over the place and the instructor kept apologizing saying "I'm sorry, it's not usually like this." Without my consent, they charged me for a months worth of classes without committing after the trial class. When I called to address the charge EVAN hung up on me sounding very frustrated. When I called back he scolded me and told me I was a dishonest person. Unfortunately this gym seems very nice but after the way I was spoken to I will never return. would not recommend! read more

My first day there she allowed in a ton of kids with older siblings who were running around sending the little ones flying everywhere. Her attitude is awful not friendly and certainly not for little ones. Letting in kids who are so so sick coughing with snot flying everywhere I had to leave. She asked me back realizing that This environment was awful. So I come again and this owner is a literal Nazi! My two year old first time there is interested in all the toys bot sitting in a perfect circle which is totally normal. She was insane! She must have some OCD or a like mental condition she kept picking my little girl up making her cry to bring her to this circle which just agitated her. On my way out she tells me the "rules are they MUST sit in circle or parent MUST MUST sit and she will bring the child to you" I said well if the membership is dependent on this I'm not interested she proceeded to tell me how this technique of agitating and forcing 2 year olds to sit in perfect circles is researched 35 years. Then as I walk out SHE STARTS TO GOSSIP to another parent. "This is her third time here ...." I was appalled. Bottom line TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE ps the location you have to walk through a medical building with waiting patients sick in the hallway to get to the room where the gym is. This place didn't feel very welcoming to me. I signed up my daughter to the gymnastics class, which was ok since my daughter seemed to like it. Personally I though the staff was just going through the motions and not very into it. Anyway I was there watching my daughter and I had my 2 year old son with me. You can imagine how hard it is to keep a 2 year old entertained for an hour especially with his sister playing right in front of him. Obviously he couldn't join her (different age group). So in the area where we watch our kids he found some small orange cones and started stacking them and keeping himself busy. He wasn't bothering anyone and no one was around him. For some reason the staff didn't want him playing with the cones. I couldn't understand what they had against my son playing. My son then started getting antsy and I had to take him outside and miss my daughter playing. Maybe if they would have been nicer I would have signed him up as well. On a side note the staff definitely showed favoritism towards some of the kids and the place didn't really have much structure. I don't recommend this place, there are better ways to spend your money. read more

This review is for an overall experience of this place. I signed up my daughter for the gymnastics classes. The classes are standard nothing special for the price I was paying, I was expecting much more but I was very disappointed. The staff is nice and friendly however not very professional. My daughter seemed to like the place and since her birthday was coming up I thought lets do it here. This is where all went down hill. 1 - the birthday packages are very limited and expensive. I was looking to have over 15 kids so i was going to book the $550 - which does not include any themes ($50) and if you are not a member there's additional charges ($49). Also the party is only for 1 hour and half 2- it took them 4 attempts for them to get the correct reservation, they kept giving me the premier package for only 12 kids. 3- They offer 2 hour party slot and as stated on their website it can only be the last party of the day. However when i was on the phone with them for the 3rd time they did not inform me of the extra charge of $125 for 30 minutes. I found out when i received the 4th email confirmation. 4 - customer service and customer satisfaction is definitely not important to them. When I called for the 5th time concerned of the extra charge they just gave me the standard "it is our policy" response. I cancelled my reservation because a total of over $700 for two hours not including the extra food for the adults was not worth it to me. oh and the deposit is non-refundable even if they are the ones that made a mistake I do not recommend this place at all for any type of event. read more

April 2013..... I'm so happy that I found a place that has thought out of the box when it comes to kids. This is a place where kids can truly excerise not only their little bodies but their minds. The dedication and enthusiasm of the staff is so energetic and contagious that I'm always excited in going to any kid/parent event they have. The weekly room changes are definitely creative and stimulating for my kids. The cleanliness of the gym is always apparent. I love that their programs are consistent and engaging with the children. Absolutely love My Gym, and so does my son. A few of my friends take their toddlers there and kept suggesting I try out the free trial class. It was so easy to sign up online. After the first class we were hooked! Every class starts with circle time where staff lead the parents in sitting with their toddlers doing exercises and singing songs with their children. Such a nice way to warm up! Then is a little bit of free time for the kids to explore the different pieces of equipment. The staff then lead us through using new exercises, learning new skills, the time really flies by. Ms. Gabby and Mr. Jermaine are amazing, they are so kind and welcoming to all of the children. They also remember each and every child's name! Love this place. read more

Today you had an open gym for kids to come in and play. You also said that the limit was the first 20 students and after that you could not let kids come in. Knowing that you had a limit you did not put any type of line system in place to ensure that those who got here first can get in. When I lined up, about the 5th parent in line another parent just decided to walk around and get in front of me to sign and she had about 7 kids with her. Not only did your staff not say anything to her but then she proceeded to give me an attitude when I tried to sign in saying that "they believe in the honor system." Apparently your customers don't. I had a really great time with my son's first birthday party here and was actually looking forward to enrolling him in summer classes. But this incident makes me think twice about doing that. read more

You always want the best for your child and I feel this gym meets my standards, especially since they changed Free Play to unlimited instead of once a wk. I recently joined my 10 month old son to the gym and he enjoys interacting with everyone there. The owner is very nice-- not pushy at all. The helpers there are also friendly and I love the fact that they remember all the kids' names. They have fun-filled activities, such as trampoline, swings, slides, sing along, bubble time, rock climbing, and even ziplining! The winning factor for me is that the facility is clean! That's a biggie for me since I am a nurse/germphobic. I plan to be a member here for a while. read more

There really isn't much to do here. They have stations that aren't functional and the only fun thing is the trampoline. The instructors seem bored and don't engage with the kids very much. We tried when my kid was younger and recently now that she's older. It gets boring really fast. read more

I visited my gym today for a class with my 11 months old daughter after it was recommended to me by a friend . My daughter loved it . She enjoyed exploring the gym . The class was very cute . The teachers really do show that they love working with kids and have a variety of different activities to entertain little ones .They offer classes for a variety of ages groups . Only thing that sucks is class schedules . I work 9-5 and there is only one class for my baby on Saturday and it's at 9 am . I'd love to go more often but don't think schedule works well for busy mommies with little ones . read more

MyGym is an awesome place to bring any child. I've been bringing DS here since he was about 18 months or so which I believe is the Waddlers/Tiny Tots class. The class is very engaging as the parents are invited to assist and sing with the teacher. (P.s. make sure you wear a good pair of socks parents. No shoes on the carpet and the little ones are barefoot.) Now fast forward to age 4. We began attending classes again. We felt he needed assistance with following directions and an extracurricular activity wouldn't hurt. In the beginning of the class those that arrive early are allowed to roam freely amongst the gym. (And boy do they roam. It's like watching a comedy sketch in fast forward.) When most of the students are there they call everyone over to the big red circle. This is where they warm up and stretch their little bodies to prepare for the skills of the day. So far we are pleased with our choice over Gymboree. They offer nights such as Parent's Night Out. Which is when parents get a 2 hour reprieve to have ice cream, go to dinner or just have a moment to themselves. He loves it so much that he wishes he could move in. I've noticed much improvement behaviorally and so have have his teachers. (Than again he's 4 years old.) We will continue to attend classes which goes up to 10 or 12. (I'd have to check again.) It's a good way to promote flexibility in children especially boys. read more

The minute you walk in the place has a strong sweat or foot odor. I've been to other My Gyms and this by far smells. The place is spacious. However the class I signed up had so many kids it was chaotic. They started with circle time and afterwards there was free time or if you wanted to participate in one of the activity the leader had. I have been taking my daughter to this My Gym location since she was 7 months old. We started out with a free trial class. I enjoyed how the classes were very interactive and the staff were attentive to all the children. The classes provided here are age specific and are both educational and motivational. Within a month of attending classes I noticed my daughter was able to clap, wave, crawl and now walk with assistance. We recently had her first birthday party here and the staff were amazing with all the children in attendance. I am glad I found My Gym. read more

Not impressed with the way this place is run. First, this My Gym never answers their phone. So, you will never reach a human unless you leave a message and they CHOOSE if and when to call you back. It's annoying. I left them messages and even emailed this My Gym to set up a trial class and had to wait indefinitely for a response. Half the time, they never responded. We used to go to another My Gym and they either answered their phone or returned your call within the day. Not the Fresh Meadows location. Good luck reaching them. Also, they canceled my trial class the day before with some ambiguous message and of course, I had to then call, leave a message, wait awhile for a response, etc before I know what was going on with the class. It was maddening. Finally, it's clear that the "coaches" here are very young. I'm all for youthful energy, but unfortunately the young staff also lack professionalism. PS parking in the lot is $3/hour. That's absurd. read more

Great place for early learning and movement. We have been attending my gym for the last 6 months with my 2 yr old and as soon as we started we felt right at home. Friendly staff and they pay very close attention to each child's specific needs. Meredith, Jamel, Leslie and all the staff are amazing teachers who you can tell have a real love and understanding about children and knowledge of child development. They push your child just enough to step out of their comfort zone without being too intrusive. I also love the fact they have circle times music and puppet theater. MyGym is simply wonderful. We started on a free class- this past winter was very bad and I was looking for something fun for him to do since he seemed to be a little bored with being stuck inside all day and night. We signed up right away after attending the free class, when he was 13 months old ( he started walking at 10 months so he's a very active boy!) and he and i both love it. We are still members. Love the staff, Mr. Jamel, Miss Alex and Miss Vicky are all wonderful, just to name a few staff members. They always greet my son by name and really make me feel like they care about him and his development. Very friendly, patient, and caring people. The place itself is very clean and they change it around all the time so the kids never get bored. They are fair, making sure every kid gets a turn during the activities. They also do promotions frequently like "unlimited classes" for a month (this promo is going on right now) and its great, we go multiple times a week this month and it really makes you feel like you get your moneys worth. It's a really great place for moms (and dads too), its hard to keep friendships and connect with new people when you are an involved parent taking care of a young child- another perk about this place is they do age-grouped classes, where i personally have made several really good friends whom i can really relate to. Can't say enough good things about this place. Come winter, we're hoping to have his 2nd birthday there. read more

This MyGym is the best! My kids have been coming here since my oldest was 18 months old. He is now 10 and in a well designed and much needed class for special needs children. They recognized that there was a need for a class like this and that children with autism should not be left out. I will always be grateful for that. My daughter, 4, has been gaining strength, endurance, and basic tumbling skills all while having a fun time. She looks forward to going every week. The staff are amazing. MyGym rocks! When my son first started, he couldn't even do a roll. Now he is rolling and tumbling and doing dive rolls. My daughter has became more flexible and able to do cartwheels and round offs. Where do I start? I bought a Groupon for this place for $80 for 8 classes. Let me just say I went to two classes and never went back. I cut my losses. One, the location is not that great. Parking is difficult. Two, when you walk in the place smells like feet. I was so annoyed immediately. Not a good first impression. Third, their service is terrible!!! They never answer their phones and they call you back sometimes the next day even though they're open. Also, the two girls in charge of the class that day just said my daughters name when I walked in asking if that was her, I said yes and that was it. No intro, no smile, nothing at all. The class itself was decent but no one really acknowledged my daughter and also no one spoke to us. It was very rushed. My husband didn't want to go back at all but I gave it another try. The second time was okay.... Only difference was there was a teacher that day who was sooo much nicer and friendlier. I forgot her name (Starts with an M I think?, dark skinned) but she was very friendly. She's the reason I gave an extra star. She attended to each child equally and even spent a few minutes with my daughter. The other main teacher was the same as the previous week and she was the same as the week before.... Very rushed and she was reading off a paper to see what to do next. She was reading the full paragraphs out loud and reading it so fast that half the parents looked confused. Oh and I forgot to mention that while I was in that class my phone rang with the gym actually calling me back from a message I left the day before. I didn't even bother answering because in the message I said what class my daughter was in so obviously she didn't listen to the message. Now as for my daughter she had a blast because which 2 year old wouldn't in a place so colorful and full of things to play with? The activities were pretty cool and I really liked how they hung the swings from the ceiling and encouraged balancing with certain activities. The activities were unique and fun. I just wish they were more friendlier and there was a more welcoming environment because that matters to me. They just seemed to go through the motions because they have to. I really wanted to give them a try and hopefully sign my daughter up for the fall but I'll be going to "the Little Gym of Bayside" instead. They are SO MUCH more friendlier and cleaner. They may not have all the gadgets and gizmos but the teachers are great there and so engaging with each child. It feels so welcoming there whereas "My Gym" isn't at all. Wish I had a better impression because it looked really fun and the reviews were good but since not I'll take my business elsewhere. Very disappointing. read more

my 2 girls have been going to My Gym over the years and each and every time they go there, they are just SO HAPPY! AND they get the best exercise they need. The teachers and office staff are amazing and work with each child on their individual needs. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, the place is CLEAN!!!! We also did a birthday party there for my oldest daughter and everyone, including the parents had a blast. In September of 2015, the owner graciously offered the location and staff FREE OF CHARGE to have a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (Light The Night Fundraiser), we we made over $600 for the charity. ALL proceeds went directly to the cause. Great people that work there. That is important to us! :) read more

I absolutely love My Gym. The staff is exceptional. They are extremely loving and caring and make each and every child feel very comfortable. When my daughter started taking classes there, she was extremely shy. With the help of the wonderful staff, my daughter was able to open up very quickly. I will always be grateful to the staff for showing her the love and support that she needed to progress socially. The classes also helped my daughter develop the endurance necessary to live an active healthy lifestyle. My Gym is amazing and worth every penny!!! Cannot say enough about what wonderful experiences I have had bringing all three of my children to My Gym. Classes are age appropriate and so fun and engaging. The staff couldn't have been more professional and kind hearted. When my first two were little, I was able to bring them to a mixed age class which included both...then age 3 and 2. Now that my 3 1/2 year old is in their own age appropriate class with lots of up beat fun, relays, skills I am so excited to see how much fun he has moving and grooving with his pals doing "big kid" stuff.
