Been going for about 4 months now. There has been a huge increase in the number of non PF personal trainers working with 2-3 clients. They take up multiple machines at a time making it impossible to work out. Even when they are not using the equipment they will not share with other gym goers. It's unfortunate that this is happening. I'm really considering cancelling my membership since I can't wait an hour for a private trainer to finish their job at my gym that I pay for. Not super impressed with this gym. It is a very busy location so all the machines depending on the time are occupied. It is a very large gym so there is a lot of equipment. The good thing about this location is that they have a large parking lot which is convenient. What I didn't like was the mat area by the elevator in the basement, looks very messy and not a great area to have the mats. I feel like this gym can be organized a bit different to make it more desirable to workout. read more

I'm not a fan of big box gyms but decided to give Planet Fitness a try since this new location is close to my house and has a huge parking lot. I was discouraged the few times I went to sign up because this location is packed and full of kids. The key is to go during off peak hours! Gym is clean, staff is friendly. Black card lounge has lots to offer, my only complaint is I wish they had a better system to turn on the machines, staff usually forgets to turn it on, and then you have to go upstairs to remind them. read more

I'm very frustrated with PF customer service. I've been charged late fees every month for no reason. Although the billing information is updated and correct, the payment is not charged by the due date and a $20 late fee is in the charged next day. Then I spent over 20 min on the phone with their 3rd party services (ABC) which recognized the issue but informed me that they couldn't process the payment without the late fee. That a note would be posted on my account, and I would need to come by the gym and ask the manager to wave the wrongly charged late fee and process the correct payment. To add a layer of disrespect, at the gym I'm informed by the staff that I need to come back during BUSINESS HOURS when the manager might be able to help me?! WHAT?! It is so unreasonable for them to put me through such a headache to fix their own mistakes. PF advertise less stress, but delivers inefficiency, wrong charges and costumer disrespect. Like someone mentioned previously something is wrong with the HVAC system here the air quality is poor and the gym is always crowded worsening the issue. I genuinely thought it was me despite never feeling like I was going to pass out following my regular workout at any other location. I tried to cancel the account in October of 2024, I was informed by the club to email them. Which I did, they sent no confirmation of cancellation, I repeatedly contacted them via phone and email to cancel, with no response. They continued to charge me for 7 months. I have contacted corporate, customer service, billing department, as well as media team (as per their suggestion), yet they still continued to bill and refuse to acknowledge cancellation in person, as well as via email - which contractually is a legal way to end the contract. Avoid this gym at all costs unless you would like to be taken advantage of. Not to mention the gym was never clean, they rarely ever had spray to clean equipment with, the water stations often did not work. read more

I like the place overall. The quality and amount of machines they have are good. Love the black card member benefits. The staff at this location are very hit or miss. Some of them are nice, others are extremely rude and unhelpful. I just try not to even bother with them most of the time. I wish they would limit the amount of people sometimes, as it gets way overcrowded at certain times. But as for a place to work out, for the price it's excellent. read more

I'm here now . Hordes of teenagers hogging machines on their phones filming and taking pictures , a group was rough housing last week and one of them was pushed into me . No sorry . The teens don't clean the machines or know how to use the machines . No staff walks around supervising or reprimanding them . So they don't pay dues and take over the place . My two adult children were thinking of joining , told them not to bother. If Planet Fitness wants to continue this free summer camp , have set hours because all you are doing is alienating your paying customers . read more

I was so surprised they were able to turn this space into a gym! There's about 5/6 Smith machines and a lot of cardio machines so they really used the space well. The first floor when you walk in is the check in area with vending machines and seating, the basement has the black card area, the bathroom/locker rooms, the circuit section, some ab machines, mats and weights etc. the second floor has all the cardio and weight machines. There's also an elevator and it's probably the cleanest PF I've been to. The whole time I was there I swear I smelled fried chicken. And then I was like wait! It's the butter from the movie theater next door. Somehow it's seeping in Also, To PF, PLEASE GET THE HIP THRUST MACHINE THAT SOME PFS HAVE NOW PLEASE that would change the game fr. This is the worse gym with broken equipment that doesn't get fixed for months. And don't bother paying for a Black Card membership to use the amenities. They don't even check your card for black card status when they schedule sessions in the black card room. I ask them if they want to check my card. Then the say Oh sure! Or they say we memorize who has black cards. This really irks me because why pay for the black card if anyone can use it? I go to the Great Neck gym and they always check your card status when secheduling a message, etc. And the Fresh Meadows club manager is just plain rude and unfriendly. There is not enough equipment here to get a simple work out done. The members are so entitled and inconsiderate when they are into working specific areas of their body. If its their arms, they use the machine for half an hour and some of them alternate between 2 machines and leave their belongings at both machines so no one else can use them. Alot of members carry on conversatons with other members while sitting on the machine. Or they are texting. Working out at this club is a stressful experience and not enjoyable at all. The Great Neck location is the best with more knwledgeable staff and more considerate members. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I went to planet fitness in fresh meadows, and I must say, it was a disappointment. A girl with blonde hair who went by the name of "Kayla" kicked me off the hydro massage bed after I spoke to a rep at the front desk to turn it on for me. I had no issues prior when I went tanning and she rudely kicked me off the hydro massage bed and embarrassed me after I told her I am in fact a black card member and I'd be willing to show her my status. I have never in my life been treated this way at a gym and it's making me want to cancel my membership with planet fitness because of this incident. I hope you can resolve this bc this is by no means a representation of fine customer service. I really am so distressed and disappointed from this occurrence today. read more

This review is for the Planet Fitness in Fresh Meadows. I called over 25 local gyms trying to find a particular machine--a recumbent elliptical cross trainer and Planet Fitness is the only gym that has it. I used this machine in physical therapy and wanted to continue using it in a gym setting. At Fresh Meadows they have 2 of these machines as well as 2 sit down upper body exercisers. My insurance paid for my membership so it was a good deal for me. Even though I went there on a Saturday evening the area where these machines are located wasn't crowded. read more

Was so happy to hear that an affordable gym was finally opening up in the neighborhood, until you actually go and find a swarm of high schoolers EVERYWHERE!!! All weight machines and dumbbells are taken up by the high schoolers, unless you're just going for the treads ( there are plenty available). Planet fitness should really rethink about this free high school program. At least, set a specific time where high schoolers are allowed to go because it's really unfair for paying customers who actually paid for membership and then having no/limited equipments to work with. The Free Membership for Teens is a horrible concept for paying members due to poor mismanagement for the following reasons: -swarms of 14 year olds chatting idly by on machines while not using them -teens taking selfies/filming themselves on equipment while paying adult members wait around to use said equipment -constant overflow of trashcans -the amount of people in here on any given day and time would help buy a Fire Marshal Inspector a summer house from the violations due to the overhaul of maximum capacity occupancy -The stench and lack of respect for the area is visible from the pools of sweat stains and trash everywhere -teens misusing machines (I get so worried an accident will happen while watching a 15 year old attempt to use weight machines while his friends are filming) -staff that seem to always be chatting to themselves while not cleaning or teaching these people how to properly use or wipe down the machines Honestly, if you are thinking of signing up for this PF, wait until the free teen program ends. read more

How is a gym this crowded ALL times of the day?? it is almost impossible to get on any weight machine. The place is full of teenagers jerking around, sitting on machines scrolling their phones, and doing everything improperly, just asking for an injury. The free teen membership needs to be discontinued. It is not fair to paying members or people serious about working out. There is very little gym courtesy at this location in general. I know this is not a gym for elite athletes or anything but people don't seem to understand the basics of not clanking machines, not tying up machines by just sitting there ("oh I have one more set"--sure you do.), and knowing that once you walk away from a machine, it is no longer yours. The Black Card spa setup is antiquated-sign up sheets for amenities?? So basically anybody could go in and hop on anything at anytime. There is no proof of black card membership required (I assumed you would have to scan your pass or something). if you are serious about working out, this is not the place for you. Was being charged with late fees every month because there was an "issue" with my bank account information (yet they were able to charge my credit card successfully every month), when I asked what the issue was with my bank account they refused to answer, stating there was no way to find out, I asked if I spoke your boss or corporate, would they be able to tell me what the "issue" was, she said no, I tried calling corporate at 1:30 on a Friday and the automated message said "our offices are currently closed, we are open Monday-Friday 8-4pm" ....., on top of that it's always overcrowded, even up until closing on weekdays read more

It's an amazing gym, clean, lots of amenities, the black card membership club offers access to massage beds, massage chairs, tanning, and a red light/beauty angel machine. The staff are really great. BYOO... bring your own oxygen Before applying for a membership at this location, you'll need to bring your own oxygen supply because sometimes the gym does not provide that for you. Their HVAC system seems to not be functioning properly fairly often. You end up in a crowded enclosed space, everyone's raised kinetic energy of their heartbeats exerting their own perspirations into the ether. They breathe in the little supply of oxygen from the occasional opening of the front door as another victim enters the suffocation chamber that is this gym. They whisper heat and moisture with every exhalation, filling the atmosphere with more perspiration and carbon dioxide. And without a functioning HVAC system to recycle the air, the viscosity of the atmosphere encapsulates the inhabitants, drowning them slowly. A lack of oxygen shuts down critical brain functions, leaving you mentally impaired, unaware of the very trap you are sinking into. You sink deeper with every set and every rep, further exertion results in further exile. This death trap has manifested shortly after the opening of this location and has been active ever since, it was at the height of its power during the humid days of the recent hot summer. The strongest I've ever witnessed the death trap's power was when the humidity was dense enough to cause water to condensate along all the machinery and walls. Minutes after entering and scanning my membership, a thin layer of slick moisture has developed over my skin. The layer of moisture on my body quickly escalated to liquids dripping off my body. My garments have become heavy as they absorb the excess of liquids. Worst part was, I could estimate that my own sweat made up only about 25% of the composition of the moisture, the rest of it was from the atmosphere of the gym and the other inhabitants. Unrelated but I also saw a worker wiping the piss off the toilets with a towel and then using the same towel to wipe the sinks, counters, and benches in the locker room. read more

This gym is not big enough for the population coming every day. I have to wait at least 10 minutes for most machines. Forget about using a cable. They come as a bunch and don't give anybody a chance ! It's all because of free parking. I live in this neighborhood but I can't properly take advantage of plants fitness in fresh meadows. I've been trying to speak with a manager. When I signed up via the PF app, I, in error, selected the Fresh Meadows location. I'm told a manager could force the change to a different club. I've called constantly to speak with a manager, and left messages to call me back. No one has ever called me back. I got the email address for the district or regional manager for this franchise, and emailed that person, and again no one has gotten back to me. I don't know if its the location or the franchise that is the issue. This has been going on for over 4 weeks. Stay away from this club and the franchisee. Poorly run. read more
