My son loves My Gym. All of the teachers are incredibly warm, fun, and caring. My son has anxiety and has always been hesitant to go upside down, but during the last class, he finally did it with Ms. Gigi's gentle guidance. He was so proud of himself afterward. What really touched me was that Ms. Gigi intentionally didn't make a huge deal out of it, but I could tell she was genuinely excited to witness that moment. We visited My Gym for a birthday party on a Sunday afternoon and had a blast! The play area for little ones is super fun, safe, and inviting. During the birthday party two staff members got all guests to join a circle and okay a few games that were engaging for both kids and adults, I joined in with my toddler and had a great time. The couple of hours flew by while we played. After all the playing we ate in the front area, sang happy birthday and had cake. We have been bringing our now 3-year-old to my gym for about 2 years now and we have thoroughly enjoyed it. We just had our son's 3-year birthday party here and it was fantastic!!! The staff (Aarti, Alani & Gigi) were incredible! There were a lot of kids and they were wild and the staff did so well with them! Friends have recommended this location to us in this past and we have been meaning to try it for a while. We attended a free trial class here this weekend after receiving a promo email and were SO impressed! We weren't super sure what to expect. The class was part teacher-led, part self-play. The 4 instructors who led the class were engaged, enthusiastic, and encouraging. You can tell they love kids! There were maybe 15-20 kiddos. The gym was clean (floors were spotless and the equipment wasn't grungy) and there were hand wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer available at the front. Our kiddo enjoyed climbing on the ladders, the airplane zip-line (so cool!), and just running around with others his age. We are planning to sign our almost 2 year old up for classes in the next month or so! read more

We had our daughter's 2nd birthday party at My Gym in Redondo and cannot say enough good things, or recommend them enough. The process was super simple - we dropped off the plate, utensils, table cloths, etc earlier in the week, and arrived 15 minutes before the party with the food and drinks, and the staff took care of the rest. Keke and Jeremy handled all the kids so well, and truly made our little girl feel like the star of the event. If they had just let the kids do their own thing, and just supervised, it would have been a fun time by itself, but they were so interactive, setting up games, activities, and really being so hands on, that it really took things to the next level. My wife and I were also so impressed how they remembered every kid's name in such a short time. Before the party started, our daughter got to explore the gym on her own, before any guests arrived, which no doubt helped her get acclimated to everything. The space itself was a great place, but the staff truly made the event what it was. We talked to some of the parents who attended with their kids and some of them mentioned they may do that for their next birthday party, with how simple and fun it was. PARENTS WITH 2 CHILDREN OR MORE-BEWARE. This locations does not allow your children of different age to be in the same area during session. I have a 3 yr old and a 1yr old and I when arrived for our session I was told to leave my 3yr old son out in the lobby and vice versa when my 3 yr old was in session, my 1 year old son is expected to wait in the lobby area unattended (considering these classes are interactive) Keep in mind the lobby area has no supervision, no toys and bunch of people personal belongings. By now I'm sure you are thinking NO WAY IN HECK WILL I EVER CONSIDER LEAVING ONE OF MY CHILDREN UNATTENDED IN THE LOBBY AREA WITH A DOOR THAT CAN BE EASILY OPENED BY 1 yr OLD. Perhaps this should have been on the term but it wasn't. I did see the notice on the wall but by then I was already in class with my babies ready to play. This place looks fun, my children were excited to try it out but I just cannot leave one of my children in the lobby area unattended. Either they are together or they are not there at all. Unfortunately arrangements like this, makes it hard for a mother of two or more to be able to take advantage of all the activity this place has to offer. Unless my husband is with me, we are not able to join in on the fun. Which he can't because by the time my husband gets home from work this place is closed . I am assuming they do this to keep small children safe, which I understand. I just wish someone it has communicated this to me before I wasted my time and money read more

My daughter just finished up 5 days of summer camp at my gym and I was really impressed! We have only been here for birthday parties (we don't have a membership/attend classes), but we/she felt comfortable with the teachers-they were very warm, welcoming and personable. They had a variety activities for them during the 3 hours drop off camp (arts and crafts, snack, gymnastics with themed-days), and she seemed to have a great time. They even gave me a credit when she had to miss a day due to being sick. Overall, really recommend this place! read more

This place is pure MAGIC. It's one of things I look forward to most every week. The instructors are full of energy and love for the children. I have never seen anything like it. I can't even tell you how I love My Gym!! (All the locations) we had our son's 5th party there and he literally said he wanted to live there! Every staff there is like a little Disneyland attitude and wonderful. They all are so accepting and loving towards children of all ages, and during birthdays they take care of everything while the adults actually get to eat! Just had my kid's 6th birthday party. Booking was easy and convenient because we were able to text back and forth. They sent me a very detailed email and link to send to guests for waivers. A few days before the party I dropped off supplies and Ashley took her time to listen to me and what my kid's interests were. The day of the party Ashley and Trevor took care of everything. They were the best, so friendly and helpful with me and super attentive and enthusiastic around the kiddos. They really made my kid's birthday super memorable and all of our guests had a great time! If you have a small child that loves to run around and climb and has a lot of energy then this is a great place. I'm not sure why the last review said it costs over $100/month. There is a one time lifelong membership fee when you first sign up but after that it's $75/month for one hour classes each week. We love the staff here. They are so great with the kids and keep them entertained for an hour while for the most part you can chill and let them have fun. The class format starts with circle time and a warm up. They do stretching that's really fun and my son actually does it at home all the time now. Then you do a dance that is fun and has a learning theme. Then there is a long free play period. They have a ball pit, trampoline, several thing to climb and slide down (it changes every week) and they setup different obstacle courses, assisted gymnastics, tents, car or airplane rides and swings. The last few minutes are spent with quiet play where the kids play in a circle independent of the parents and you end with a bye bye song (which my son also sings) a puppet show, another learning song and a hip hip hooray-where you throw your tot in the air (obviously they love this!). Sometimes they even bust out the big bubble machine. I can't say enough good things about this place. We also went to a birthday party here once and my husband said "that was the BEST birthday ever!" I signed up my son, who at the time was about 13 months old, for My Gym classes because he stays at home with Grandma during the week and I wanted to socialize him more with other babies. I don't take baby classes, or spending the money, lightly, so I deliberated for a couple of months and tried out many other gym classes before I decided on My Gym. I also took 2 trial classes here. We love My Gym, but more importantly, my son loves it. He started out in Tiny Tykes for a month to get him used to the teachers and the new setting, and then moved him up to Waddlers. In the beginning he was hesitant and clingy, but definitely curious, and now he's off and away when he goes to class or open play. All the teachers are great, super upbeat and friendly, and so patient and understanding with babies and their temperaments, and I appreciate that every week the apparatus and equipment are moved and changed around to keep things new and exciting. Their activities are fun, music is great, and little skills are taught to my son too, like cleaning up toys and following directions. I also like that there's circle time in the beginning and end, and while there's free play time, it is also organized with different skill stations set up. Other gym classes made me feel like I would've been paying for just all open play with no direction, which is a waste to me. I tried out The Little Gym and Gymboree, and My Gym was far and away the best choice for us and what I was looking for. read more

Another weekend, another kiddie party to attend. If you are a parent, you kow exactly what I am saying... Gone are the days of a piñata, a home-made cake and a simple game of pin the tail on the donkey. Nope, that has all been replaced with destination birthdays. As a parent, there is something very alluring about a destination birthday. First off, you don't need to straighten up your house, someone else is in charge and there is zero mess to clean up. Sure, your wallet is slightly lighter, but you usually still have your sanity after the party, as well as the rest of your day to spend with family vs. cleaning up. I have become quite the conniosseur of My Gyms and all their competitors. This location certainly stacks up against the competition. The play area is large and well kept and the lobby is large enough for people to move around, gather and eat. The staff is friendly and engaging and very focused on the kids. All in all, this gym will run your kids wild. And as a parent, is there a greater gift than that? read more

For all you non-parents, skip this review. It may serve as a planned parenting recruiting video. :-) I on the other hand, was glad to attend a birthday party at My Gym. I've never been to one of these things and I had no expectations (except that part where there would be a lot of kids running around). By the time that we arrived, the games were already under the way. It seemed like a less cheesy Chuck E. Cheese. Although my shy child would not participate in the group activities, I was impressed with the enthusiasm and energy that the staff had. Not to mention, they have the patience of saints! They captured everyone's attention and had them following their directions. If you plan on having a birthday party at the location, the actual area to have your party is small (about 14'x40'). Food, drinks and children in a small area equals devastation. It seemed that the activities at My Gym are most conducive to kids aged 1.5-9. read more

We love this place! The instructors are awesome and my 4-year-old always has the best time. We recently had my daughter's 4th birthday party here and Jennifer and Israel just pulled off the most EPIC party! They kept the fun going for the kids the entire time and took all of the responsibilities of cake cutting and serving the kiddos upon themselves. Thank you Jenn and Israel!!!. I took my son who is 21 months to the free class back in July, it took me a few months to get my act together enough to register him for a weekly class. The staff is great, all very friendly, fun and energetic, my son especially seems to like Sasha. I like that there are usually the same instructors leading the same classes each week, so the kids get to know the instructors and vice versa. They also have a good amount of class times for each age group to choose from. They change out the equipment every week and rearrange the room, so they kids are always walking into something new. The monthly rate for the class is about $80/month, which ends up breaking down to about $20/class. It also includes one day a week of free play for the kids. if you break it down it's basically $10/class and $10 for free play. I think the rate is very reasonable. They are also very flexible with make-up classes, if you miss your regularly scheduled class. We have been coming consistently since October. It took my son a few weeks to adjust to the class, but he really started participating after about 3 classes. He now sits through circle time at the beginning of class and always seems to enjoy the skill/song/dance the kids practice before going into instructional activities. My son will participate in about half of instructional activities the staff leads, ie, practicing forward rolls, zip lining, walking on balance beams, etc. The staff never forces the kids to do anything they don't want to do and if they are not engaged with a staff member in instructional activity they can run around free to do what they like. The instructional part of the class usually last around 20 minutes. My son really likes the swings that they put up about half way through the class. After the structured activities the kids have separation time, (about 5 minutes), when the kids play in the middle of the room with the staff and the parents take a step back and watch. I think it's good for the kids to have a little bit of time during class to play on their own/not with their parents. I am all for my child learning to be independent. After separation time one of the instructors does a puppet show/songs and my son really seems to enjoy that. After puppet shows/songs they do "bye bye hands" which is the goodbye song. It's a great program for anyone with an active little one and I can't see my son stopping these classes anytime soon. read more

We had my son's 4th birthday at My Gym in Redondo Beach. All I can say is that it was a HIT with kids and parents alike. Jason and Lindsay were amazing and were able to group in all of the kids into the activities (the range was from 12 months - 8 years old). They also really know kids; I was having trouble deciding what food to serve and they suggested Mac and Cheese and chicken nuggets. They were right...it went over well with kids and adults. We have been at my gym for 4 years. Started when my son was just 8 months old. He still goes at age 4 and loves it, my difficult 1.5 year old loves it too. Both kids are always so excited when I say it's time for my gym. The teachers are what really makes this place great and each gym manager has been awesome as well. The older kids do more gymnastics and the teachers are skilled at keeping the class organized, encouraging kids to try new skills and respecting their boundaries if they say no. Mommy and me bored me. Music class was repetitive. My Gym is the place for us! I started coming with my son who was 10 months old and we have a blast together. It's a safe environment where he can be active and explore. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and appropriate. I did not understand what My Gym was all about until we tried the free class. We signed up on the spot. It's not cheap, but if you can get there 2x-3x per week, it's more reasonable. read more

Well, we have been coming to this location for almost a year now. My son has been coming to free play the entire time. He is finally at an age where their schedule and ours works, so we will be signing him up as well. I can't say enough, how wonderful this place is. The instructors are so good with the kids. They are truly exceptional people, that love playing with kids. I've been tempted to ask a few of them to babysit for us on occasion. Jason seems to be the senior and a favorite of all the kids. During free play, they all seem to want to attack him or just get his attention. Ernest is a favorite as well. My daughter always asks if he will be there when she goes. Sasha is such a gentle girl, but she has some serious fun. My kids don't seem to ever tire of her endless energy. Chantel (sp?) has been around for a few months, but whe is so welcoming and caring that the kids took to her quickly as well. These are the four we see most frequently. MyGym is our go-to place that always guaranteed a safe, clean and fun environment for kids to learn, gain confidence, move and play. Our family relied on this franchise when we lived abroad, but here in Redondo it is a gem. This location has its perks; its size, convenience to Vons (if you go a drop-off class) but most importantly the in-house kid guru, Sacha. Sacha is what gives this MyGym a huge heartbeat. She is one of the most energetic, genuine and upbeat people I've met in quite some time. She manages this location, but she will thrive in any organization--she is pure joy to watch with these kids. If your child is on the older side, you won't need to worry about them feeling it's too babyish either, they also cater to older groups and do age appropriate activities that get them sweating and smiling. read more

I chose this activity after visiting another music and play class because the other place made me want to fall asleep and couldn't keep my child interested. We had my son's 5th birthday here this past June and couldn't have asked for a better experience! From start to finish the process was so easy. The staff was very attentive and kept the kids engaged the entire time. There was never a dull moment. I don't know how the coaches keep up their energy but they do! The kids were smiling the entire time and very sad to go, of course. For parents, the gym really took over and let you enjoy the party. From the games, to food, to cake time, and even the farewell portion was adorable... they handled each moment smoothly. I've never had more compliments from other parents too. They all could not believe how much the kids enjoyed it and how we got to spend time hanging out with each other instead of watching us run around handling the details. GREAT JOB, MY GYM!!
