I started coming here after departing from 24 hour fitness. I was at 24hr fitness for over 10 years and I just had enough with the one at hermosa. It wasnt well maintained, dirty. Bathrooms smelled like horse manure. Filthy all around. Dont even get me started on the sauna. Mold and tore down all bad! Ive had the same experience with other neighboring 24hr facilities as well. Anyways, everything is clean here and just better options plus more. Highly recommend it here and they have a cryo chamber! Just costs a lil extra. read more

Good location, hours, classes. I like how there are a lot of free weights; machines and there is a large variety of cardio equipment. The tidiness of the gym could be improved; meaning, people do not always re-rack their weights and I am always having to hunt for certain plates. The restrooms could use some work, and I honestly, I have been to gyms that are way cleaner, but I guess that's what you get for a busy, popular gym. They honestly need more cleaning staff, and paper towels in the restrooms. But, these are all issues that you may see at other gyms. What I do NOT like is how pushy they are trying to get you to sign up for personal training. I asked for help on a machine that wasn't at my old gym, and next thing I know, the person signed me up for a free fitness consultation. So, I showed up. I already know what I need to work on and I am not new to exercising. I follow a certain plan already, and I am on a specific workout plan through my trainer that is provided by my health insurance. I switched gyms because I wanted one closer to home. They try to sell you on personal training, but I already have a program through my health insurance and they are VERY PUSHY about trying to get you to sign up. I told the sales man that I could not afford it because it isn't in my budget and they just won't stop. Besides, I get training for FREE. Why would I want to pay for extra? Well, he scheduled me for a follow up in 2 weeks. I find out a week later that he reschedules me TWICE without even asking me if I was available! No text, no email, NOTHING- just a notification on my UFC gym app. What the hell? I don't do this with my own private clients for my job and assume they are available to meet with me. I have to work at the time he rescheduled me for and I CANNOT miss work. I canceled that second rescheduled time and I am seriously not interested anymore! It's like I am not important so he just changes my appointment time... TWICE. That's probably better anyways because I did better on my own and it's too much stress and pressure to deal with. Now I just plan to work out and not even bother with personal training. Personal training is good for those people who have NO CLUE what to do. I join UFC Gym Torrance mainly to watch the fights, like I did on 9/19/2026. However, on that evening the closing Manager decided to close the gym right at 8 pm when the main event (Van vs Pantoja) was about to start. This caused a disturbance from about 15 - 20 members including myself. She said she was new there and she didn't want to be left there by herself. I told her this has never happened, where you'd kick out all members BEFORE the main event is concluded. She should call her boss and get a proper instruction, but she didn't and insisted on closing the gym at 8 pm. Please be sure this is communicated and doesn't happen again. read more

On Saturday 9/12 the employees decided that turning off more than half of the gym's lights off 11 minutes before closing without warning was a good idea. I was in the lifting section of the gym and was in the middle of lifting at one of the racks. I could not see myself in the mirror to see if I was lifting correctly nor safely see where to put the barbell on the rack. This is the earliest time they've done this. My back started hurting later from not being able to see myself in the mirror to lift up properly. While it looks brighter than it is in my photo because of my camera settings, I was on the right side where it was almost pitch black that I could barely see where I put my water bottle on the floor. I could have also tripped over the bottom part of the rack because it was that dark! It took a bit for my eyes to adjust to the darkness so I can exit out. read more

I've been going to this gym for years and I think I'm going to have to find a new gym. They often have events here which means part of the gym gets closed off and people can't access certain equipment. The issue with this, is there is usually no announcement. Posting on social media is not the same as sending email announcements and even setting up a notification on the app! When they made equipment upgrades, we weren't even notified. Imagine showing up to the gym to workout and you can't! Sometimes no one shows up when the when the gym is supposed to open, like today, which means I can't workout. It's been 30 minutes and still no one. This has happened too many times for me. A lot of us get up early to go to the gym to start our day and can also ruin workout schedules for people like me who are bodybuilding. read more

I cancelled my UFC GYM membership in January 2026 but later discovered that I continued to be charged after the cancellation. After contacting the gym, I was told that $150 would be refunded. However, after reviewing my charges, I calculated that I had been charged $209 since March, including a $59 charge on July 2. I emailed management on August 14 regarding the discrepancy and did not receive a response, so I followed up again on August 17 and submitted the issue through UFC GYM's corporate Contact Us page. My concern is not simply that a billing error occurred, but the difficulty I have experienced getting the issue fully resolved. I would have appreciated more timely communication and a complete review of the charges once the problem was brought to the gym's attention. I am still awaiting resolution and will update this review if the issue is addressed and the appropriate refund is provided. read more

Bad management makes this place unsafe for women: I went here for about a solid year and it was just okay. I like the gym itself although it could be kept cleaner. However, the general manager, Cres, makes this gym a bad and unsafe experience. There was an incident where a man came into the women's locker room and wouldn't leave. Despite multiple women, including myself, telling Cres what happened, the man was allowed to retain his membership and there were no repercussions for him nor did Cres take any action to ensure incidents like this don't happen again. I have escalated this to UFC corporate but they have had zero response. So while I like the space and the people there, it is just not a safe space. (Additionally, Cres lied about several things when I was signing up in addition to making inappropriate comments comparing me to his ex-wife. I chalked this up to him just being a salesman type but the locker room incident speaks to his lack of integrity.) read more

While the gym itself has made some improvements, the lack of staff professionalism on the weekends is quite frustrating. Each weekend, paying members stand around waiting for an employee to open the door. This is quite frustrating considering a business must be open during posted business hours and like myself, plan ahead to be here. Managers should really consider changing the employees on the weekend as it seems they can't meet their scheduled hours, weekly. Surprised they haven't been fired yet. Not to mention, being diabetic and having to leave the gym at a proper time to eat a meal, this is very frustrating. The craziest part is when the staff does show up, at 6:21, they are not apologetic and rather said "yeah, I'm late," when asked if the gym did in fact open at 6. Pros: The HIIT classes are great--I genuinely enjoy them. I just wish there was a bit more variety in the class offerings. During busy hours, it does get very crowded. I understand that's common with most gyms, but since this is a smaller space, it makes it harder to access machines when you need them. Cons: My biggest concern is cleanliness, especially in the women's restroom and the HIIT workout area. On multiple occasions, I've walked into the bathroom and found dirty toilet paper on the floor, overfilled sanitary bins with noticeable odor, and not enough stalls to accommodate members--I've even had to wait in line several times. The HIIT mat area is also in serious need of a deep cleaning. It often feels unsanitary, which takes away from an otherwise great workout experience. read more

Warning! Do NOT leave your credit card on file with this gym! They will charge you unauthorized fees, and when you try to resolve the issue, no one takes responsibility. You'll be passed around from one manager to another, and nothing gets done. I was a UFC Gym member for three years and paid my membership in advance. I also lost a significant amount of weight and decided to sign up for month-to-month personal training, which I continued for nearly a year. I was very happy with my trainer during that time. However, when I decided to pause the training, I was told I needed to submit a 30-day cancellation notice. I completed the cancellation form well in advance--nearly 50 days ahead--requesting to stop the service on September 28, 2024, while still using a few leftover training sessions and continuing to visit the gym until then. Despite this, I noticed a charge for October. When I spoke to my trainer, Jonathan, he assured me the cancellation had been processed and said the charge must have been a mistake. He promised to take care of it. To my surprise, I was also charged for November and December. I tried calling the gym and spoke with managers Cress and Andrea. They asked me to email all the texts and communication I had with my trainer, where he clearly confirmed the cancellation was submitted on time and that he would request a refund. Still, nothing happened and they were telling me worst scenario you can use The three month training anytime you want! After two months, I visited the gym in person to follow up with the refund, only to be told there by 3rd manager ( lady that I don't remember her name) was a problem because the system showed that all three months of personal training sessions were marked as "used"--which is impossible, as I hadn't stepped foot in the gym since mid-October. My membership also expired in December, so there was no way I could have used any sessions in November or December and I told her to simply check the system to see my membership wasn't scanned at front for months as she promised to do but still nothing. To make things worse, it seems my trainer either quit or was fired. Every time I asked them to call him or check with him, they said he wasn't there. Finally, I had to dispute with my bank and the retuned just one month. Bottom line: This gym has no accountability and terrible customer service. I would strongly advise against leaving any payment method on file with them. read more

This is an update to my previous review. I attempted several times to cancel my membership and was told I had to come into the gym in person, which is ridiculous in 2025. I canceled my membership online anyway, but they continued to bill me and eventually sent the account to collections. I had my attorney handle it, but no one should have to go through all that just to cancel a gym membership. This place is shady with their billing and I would never sign up here again. God please fix things here! I don't feel like I am getting what I pay for here sometimes. Why don't they you guys close at 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday? This gym has a Covid schedule that never changed. Why is that? Other gyms are open ... why not this one? Also. Please repair the showers or hangers outside showers while charging members regular maintenance fees. The hooks are there for a reason... why don't they hold up clothes? Why do they announce that the gym will close in 45 minutes when it open for another hour? Are people really off the clock at 8 pm and therefore everyone must be out 5 minutes early. However my biggest gripe at the moment is the mismanagement of the PA system and music. What do you guys do to make sure members find this place enjoyable? Play something ez listening. Buyer beware, this gym will scam you. I would zero star this gym if I could. The positive reviews are mostly clients posting positive reviews for their personal trainers (who generally seem to be great people) and "friends" of the gym. Dig through the reviews and you will find the truth. I signed up last year and paid for 3 years up front. I was explicitly told by paying up front that I was taking all of fees, and I would owe nothing during the course of my membership...which is why I paid up front. Spent the next 9 months dealing with broken equipment and subpar conditions, in a wildly overcrowded and borderline unsafe gym. If they want to run a class, they will push you out of your space in various areas of the gym. They close whenever the employees want, and not at posted hours. When they finally upgraded equipment earlier this year i started getting daily calls saying I owed a $60 "enhancement fee". This continued for months, despite me explaining the situation to multiple people. I went in today to use the gym and scanned myself in at the front, per usual, since they don't have anyone dedicated to greet you. It's usually for the best, because outside of coaches, the staff is usually pretty rude. I was working out for no more than 20 minutes when I got a voicemail from staff saying they saw that I had checked in and I needed to pay a late fee. When I left I called to explain the situation again and was told that not only did I have an enhancement fee, I also had a service fee and a late fee. The employee, Corinne, was extremely rude, demeaning; and spoke over me. When I patiently explained the situation again to her, she cut me off and asked if I was going to pay the fees or not. I told her to simply refund my remaining membership, at which point she told me I would have to come in to the gym to cancel. I asked to speak to the general manager, Chris, but he refused to take my call, even after calling back and listening to a recording of Dana White on loop for 10 minutes say how awesome their facilities and staff are at the gym. This place is a circus, uses old school predatory gym membership tactics, and the staff is just about the worst. To top it off, before I left the locker room wreaked of vomit when I went to wash my hands. Pretty sad that a franchise owner pays a lot of money to license this business and this is how his employees are representing him. Check the reviews, this story is common. There are plenty of gyms in the South Bay for this price, spend your hard earned dollars somewhere else. read more

Registering and opening up an account is easy and you can do it online but when it comes to canceling it's a different story. I called in September to cancel my membership since I moved and there's no UFC location near my new residence. They told me I had to show up in person. When I reminded them of the new guidelines in California that gyms have to abide by they told me they would cancel it. They didn't and I was charged again, I called back and they told me I had to submit my cancellation in writing. I submitted my cancellation in writing and was still charged for monthly dues + $118 members fee. I've tried to get a refund for at least the members fee but they keep declining my request. Gyms in California are supposed to have a way for members to cancel easily. If you can sign up online for an account you should be able to cancel online. read more

Update: downrating from 3 stars to 1 star because previous inconvenience of the gym closing based on the whims of the employee working that day added with the gym closing unannounced anywhere, not even on the front of the entrance on random holidays like father's day, employee retreats, etc. makes the gym unreliable and elevates the inconvenience to a deal breaker. Bay Clubs sends special hours emails to their members and posts them on each location's website so that people don't have to waste their time driving there to find it closed. Employee's closing a little early is different from being closed completely without any notice. Time to check out other alternate gym chains. 24 Hour Fitness is old and nasty. Worse than UFC Gym. We're not asking for much. Just be open. In the few minutes it took to update this review, I saw multiple people checking the door, as confused as I was. Why not stay open 24/7 like Planet Fitness that's literally in the same mall, around the corner? Not as stinky as other UFC Gyms and they close 15 minutes early because management is cheap and won't pay their employees to close after guests leave. They expect them to kick people out before they close so they can stop paying them exactly at close. read more

The gym itself is great. The gym has new machines and is always clean. Sometimes a bit of a wait on machines but it depends on what time you get there, just like any other gym. I've noticed the busiest times are 5-8pm. I really enjoy this gym. The only turn off is that some of the front check in people tend to have an attitude. As if you asking for help or checking in, is such a chore for them. Some of them as far as not even acknowledging you or even looking up at you as you are standing right in front of them or say hello to them. I don't have a specific name because this lady doesn't wear a name tag but she's usually always working the front desk. Maybe she should be moved somewhere else if interacting with members isn't her thing. I've spoken with other member of the gym and they've mentioned they feel the same way. Great Gym Overall, But Disappointing Customer Service Encounter I've been a member of UFC Gym Torrance for over five years and have always enjoyed my time working out here. It's been a fantastic place to train, and I was excited to introduce my wife to the gym as a potential new member. Unfortunately, our recent visit didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped. While the gym itself remains a great place to work out, we had a pretty disappointing experience with one of the sales representatives, Alfonso. We stopped by so that my wife could try out the gym with a guest pass before deciding to join. From the start, Alfonso was very pushy about signing up right away. We mentioned that we'd like to complete our workout first and then handle any paperwork afterward. He insisted that he'd be too busy later, but we noticed he wasn't actually busy at all--just sitting around. On top of that, he came across as quite rude and a bit shady, making the whole sign-up process feel unnecessarily pressured. It's really a letdown to see a gym I've loved for years have this kind of customer service issue, especially when it comes to treating potential new members and their family with respect. I believe with better customer service training, the experience could have been a lot better. I still think highly of the gym as a facility, but I hope they address these customer service concerns so that all members and their guests feel welcome. read more

After many ignored attempts, I talked to manager Cris and he said I will not be charged until they figure it out.....that never happened and I was charged even though I was not attending while waiting for a solution. been here for 3 years, served me well for the most part but left for a change of scenery. it was nice that they upgraded their equipment/added more racks and it ticks all the boxes (especially cross training equipment like jump boxes) for me as a gym, but they got really sale-sy over the years. trying to sell their training program, their protein powders, their bcaa etc etc. one particular trainer didnt take a 'no thank you' so well in not taking a training program and kept selling me things that I don't need or asked for. there is a super high turnovers for trainers trying to make bank and not taking the time to understand the goals and composition of an individual. it was great during off hours, not crowded but rush hour is a disaster for parking/crowd. the classes are nice to see but they should have a dedicated area away from ppl who are not taking the class, it's kind of a free for all and you have to avoid getting hit. the price is a bit much for the basic plan of just gym equipment when other commercial gyms offer the same if not more, and not even transferrable to other ufc locations. cancelling was easy, but ppl in the front desk can have attitude and are rude. I was about to snap back when a lady couldn't find my # when searching for me in the system and she told me no that's incorrect -- like lady, I've had this # for 20 yrs.. you're gonna tell me it's not correct? its you and your system that's faulty. and they wouldn't erase my info credit cards on file when I requested, which i'm pretty sure it is illegal, well I had to block them from charging me 'by accident'. luckily, I didn't have to interact with them as much for my time here. also management needs to tell more ppl to rerack or put away their weights. I've seen other gyms are more considerate but idk why this gym breeds pretty egotistical ppl who don't take more care of the equipment, like their gym equipment is always breaking down and need to be fixed and there was a busted mirror/and or wall for a time, bunch of haphazard loose equipment thrown in the cross training room. and this gym doesn't have a set price for their membership, which is a big no no, you have to negotiate a deal or a membership-- hate that. otherwise, this gym was literally within 2 miles from my home so I would come back again for the right price but needed a break from this gym. Been a member at this gym for over 10 years. Yes, they finally updated all equipment and added new stuff. Still suffer the same old problems. It seems no one puts weights away off the equipment they use, they just throw weights on the floor and leave em wherever they please, and good freaking luck finding dumbbells. And don't get me started on the people who drop weights and seem to attempt to break things. Does anyone who works at the gym do anything other than stand around, speak to a few people here and there, and generally act unfriendly. (Lawerence in the AM is the exception - that dude is always hustling and the best dude around.). Maybe, and I'm just saying maybe, have your employees walk around and ensure people put stuff back, clean off bars, and help the occasional young kid/old person who could use a hand. Complaint: From 4:20pm Sunday to 4:40pm Sunday there was a member of this gym harassing me and my handicap patient who was parked in the handicap legally. This member who is apart of this gym made contact with me in front of this gym and was verbally attacking me for 10-15 mins, staring and then starting to harass and verbally attack and when I told him to leave us alone he didn't listen and he kept verbally harassing and slandering and abusing me and my care patient who was cleaning her front seat out. He was all up in our business and was yelling and screaming in front of the gym! I told him I will complain and he said he didn't work there but he was a member so the establishment should find him and reprimand him for the ongoing harassment and bullying that took place right in front of the gym! Why did he think this behavior was ok? It isn't. It's against the law to harass someone who doesn't WANT to make contact! I'm giving the gym 1 star because no one came to our rescue to tell him to stop and they see what was going on thru the front! They just let him do this for 10-15 mins. I recorded the entire thing on my iPhone if needed for proof! We were just parked and minding our business prior to him staring and harassing! He used abusive language. Not cool! Updating. Recently An employee let me know that all paper towels were out - bathrooms and gym wise - because the shipment had not arrived. Why are we not ordering supplies accurately? Okay fine - so maybe this was a fluke. Fast forward a few weeks. Shipment came and went - all out AGAIN and now guess what.. paper towel dispenser was removed from the bathroom! Are we trying to save a dollar by not providing gym goers with paper towels anymore? Hand dryers are disgusting germ wise. Cleaning machines with paper towels is a big part of attending a gym so this is not a small issue. read more
