Sometimes it is awkwardly quiet in the store. I prefer kid to kid though in Aurora over my kids closet. They have lots of options I found plenty of clothes for a good price. For improvement they need to do inventory checks on what they have. For example they may have a lot of shoes in one size but not the other size. Or lots of one type of shoe but a variety of types of shoes. It just does not feel that whoever runs this store really has a passion about their store. read more

Walked in for the first as costumer and oh boy did this place completely disappoint. First, the young lady that was working said completely NOTHING the entire time I was there (no welcome, no hi, no do I need help etc). Also, if this place is 2nd hand clothes/donated clothes... why is a USED item... 5.99$... when you can buy NEW clothes for 5.99$ and let me confirm that was the cheapest thing I saw there... I was hesitant to leave a review because I sure do want to avoid the competition of finding awesome things here for my kids, but this store has definitely earned the review! I've shopped here at least 5 times, if not 10. Every time I've been in the attendant was so friendly and helpful. We find great clothes for fantastic prices. I bought my kids entire back to school wardrobe here. And it was a very nice wardrobe, Under Armor, Nike, Champion, all in amazing condition for about $5-7 each. Less than a quarter of what I've paid at sports stores for the same thing. These clothes look great! I've had to make a return before because one item had a subtle stain I didn't see while I was in the store, and another was just too big for my kiddo (he wasn't with me when I went shopping). The return process was easy: return with the receipt and tags within 7 days, and you get store credit. I'm telling you if you aren't at least browsing this store from time to time for you little kids' clothes, toys, and shoes you're missing out on some fantastic deals! Kids grow through clothes so quickly sometimes. Why continue to buy brand new clothes all the time, contributing to environmental concerns, and buying from foreign made markets, when you can buy local right here?? As a seller... I came in here for my first time ever to see what I can get for some of my daughter's shoes. I took in 2 bags of shoes (mind you some of them still brand new with tags on them). While, I was there I was looking at baby clothes while the lady at the cash register (her name is Marissa) was checking out another lady. For whatever reason Marissa was doing a phone order and reading the lady's card number aloud over the phone. I was checking out the baby clothes (next to the register) and took a video of them to show my cousin how nice/cheap the baby clothes are because she is due in a month. As I got to the counter to give her my bags of shoes, she (Marissa) accuses me of recording her while giving the other customers card number over the phone. I was so caught off guard. I absolutely was NOT listening in while she was reading off the card number. The fact that she even assumed that is outrageous!! I came back to pick up my shoes and she didn't purchase a single pair of shoes and didn't give me a reason as to why not. The shoes are great shape and like I said some of them completely brand new. I had new sandals in there and you would think she would take them as summer is around the corner. Definitely, NEVER coming here again! read more

Looking at the previous reviews, I'm surprised at the lack of positivity. As a buyer (not a seller), I frequent this consignment store and absolutely love it. Recently, I was able to pick up a pair of shoes, a set of pajamas, and two pairs of shorts for my 18 month old for around eight dollars. I end up saving so much money buying here. The quality of the clothes are usually like new. In some cases, you do see slight wear, but the store seems to be good at stocking well-kept clothing. With any consignment store, the stock can be hit or miss. Additionally, I am not looking for the hottest name brand items. If it's cute, I'll pick it up. Kids outgrow them so quickly. They also have clearance sections where it seems the out of season clothes are marked down. I was able to pick up a toddler hoodie for 99 cents in the summer months. As far as customer service, the young girls who work there seem to do a good job. I haven't had any issues, but I haven't had the need to speak to management. I'll continue to shop there as long as they are at Southlands. read more

Loooove this store. Friendly and helpful staff... and let's not forget the very affordable prices. I've never seen a cleaner and more organized consignment store and the quality of the clothes is very high. You can tell that they carefully select the clothes they resell and I can appreciate that. As far as the consignment (selling) experience, I find it silly how many people will leave a negative review for something that has nothing to do with the buying/customer experience. The way I see it, let's not forget that what you sell/donate to the store, you're helping another mom in need. Let's not forget that there's a lot of financial expenses to keep the lights on and payroll paid at a retail space in Southlands. With all of the empty spaces in this once-filled shopping plaza, I'm glad they're here! read more

Unfortunately they did not have what I was looking for. Clothing for babies is limited. When I went to use the coupon for checking in with yelp the cashier told me they could only take the discount off the cheapest item. Seemed like a silly policy when we are talking about secondhand clothing but what are you going to do. The staff was helpful. read more

If you are looking for well priced gently used kids clothes, this place is hard to beat! I have a 3 month old and we were determined to get most of his stuff used as we'd be living on one income. We shopped Craigslist, offer up, consignment stores and thrift stores. My kids Closet had the best prices on clothes with the best selection out of all the consignment stores and we're often in line with Goodwill. We will be shopping here for years to come as kids grow so darn fast! I'm lucky if I've gotten my baby boy to wear outfits twice! read more

Unfortunate experience. Sellers perspective. Now, I typically give my daughters stuff away. I enjoy "sharing the love" and "paying it forward" to my friends and family. For the first time in my life, I decided to see what one of these stores would give me for a batch of 3T / 4T stuff. Tons of Gymboree and some Hanah Anderson, Naartjie, and Gap clothes. There were a few carters, but only 2 outfits. Please note that I have clothing OCD and my stuff is PERFECT and if it had a spot I can't get out....I usually throw it away. (I understand that I have issues) I went in with about 5 big bags of neatly folded clothes, outfits together and about 8 items with tags. Not one stain, spot or mark of any kind. Most had been worn once or twice, maybe even 3 times...but not likely. So after the young ladies looked it over, (I left and went back 20 mins later, I am a snob and would never shop there.) They offered me $38. Now, I understand the concept of this store......but seriously......$38. There were a few things they didn't want, understandibly...but I think I will get my kicks out of "paying it forward" to family and friends next time. It wasn't worth my time, gas, or frustration (and now long review) for the $38. I did browse the store for a moment when I first got there, and it doesn't seem as if they care whether a dress is from CIRCO (target brand) or Wal-Mart or was $55 from Hanah Anderson. They buy and sell it all at the same price point. (I also thought everything was WAY overpriced for "used" clothing) **** Take a coupon to Kohls and pay less than this store!!! *** Surprising to me.....but maybe I am just dumb to think they would pay me more $ for higher quality items. Please don't think I was hoping to get $250 for my stuff....I am not crazy.....just OCD. Just sold some items here today that were left over from a garage sale. I thought the money I got for the items I sold was a fair deal. I will say, the percentage that they take off for getting cash versus getting in store credit is pretty steep(why I took off one star) I would of taken the store credit but unfortunately we are moving out of state. Still happy with the money I got for the items they bought and not having to move those things with us. Barbara was the lady that worked with me today and she was very helpful and extremely nice! As a mother of a toddler and an infant, and as a person who shops at Southlands multiple times a week, this should be a regular stop for me- but it isn't, and there are a number of good reasons why. For one, when this place opened it seems like it more or less bought up every piece of clothing they could get their hands on, meaning a lot of the infant and toddler clothes here are just boring and uninteresting- TONS of Carter's and Circo and brands that just aren't worth a second look. They're cheap new- why bother to buy them used? They're only a little cheaper than they were new, and they aren't much to look at. There don't have much in way of brands I would actually be interested in like Gymboree, Janie and Jack, Children's Place, etc- to me those are brands well worth buying used, but you have to look through 30 throw-away items of clothing before you find one. Another problem, also because they bought up way too much stuff indiscriminately when they opened, is that now they aren't accepting much of anything in terms of infant or toddler clothing, meaning what you saw when you were there last month is exactly what you're going to see this month, and next month, and so on- there's no point going in regularly to see what's new, which, to me, is half the fun of a consignment shop. Now, to its credit, this place has a nice little area for toddlers/kids to play in while you shop around a bit. This is a big bonus if you have an impatient little one. However, they also have a big TV in there for the little ones to watch, but more often than not it is not turned on, and they don't bother to turn it on when you bring your kids into the play area, so it's sort of wasted. Another point is that some of the times I have been in here, they have had 93.3 on the radio. Now, I love 93.3, don't get me wrong, but it is hardly the most appropriate station to have on in a shop where you are likely to have your kids with you. Some of the language is, in my mind, too strong to have on around kids, and some of the content is not child-friendly either. All in all, I'd say I wanted to like this place, but I just don't. Maybe give it a shot once, but if you don't find anything you like, don't count on anything better showing up down the line. read more

They give you peanuts for your clothes, whether they are gently used or brandnew with the tag. Even when trading my clothes for their stuff I left feeling like I lost $$. I will not be going back. I would rather donate to charity. Most of their clothing was for babies, limited stock for mid ages. I was disappointed with their trading program. read more

As a mother of 5 ranging from 15 years old to 6 months, I just love this store and their adult store. My oldest are to big for the kids store now but it was really helpful to sell their clothes along with other 3's clothes for store credit and be able to buy at both stores. I even got Miss Me's for my 10 year old! Something I would not normally buy but big sister got some at the best friend's store too. I love the variety of brands, I can shop all the stores in one place. Oh and the staff was very helpful too! read more

WAY over-priced for consignment. From someone who buys and sells a lot of consignment and shops on ebay, I know my prices. I was very excited when they first opened up, but really wish they had been more selective on the clothing they chose to accept. I will NOT buy used Circo or Kohls clothing, just silly. They should have focused on more name brand clothing, especially considering their location at Southlands mall and them being in-between a Justice and Gap clothing store with GYmboree right down the street. They are too stuffed right now b/c they accepted everything when they first opened and priced their clothes too high. I hope they make some changes as I would like to see them be successful. read more

A seller's perspective-- Very disappointing experience. My daughter just switched to juniors and was ready to thin out her closet and part with "kid" clothes. We read the website, which said they will look at anything, anytime as long as it's clean and in good repair. I spent a couple hours sorting, ironing, and folding the outfits that had the designer tags they said they sell. I also brought in a very nice high-end boutique silk holiday dress (worn once, retailed for $150) and a brand new, designer ankle-length winter wool coat (tags still on $277 retail; my daughter never got to wear it). Considering that wholesale is roughly 50% of retail, I was expecting an offer of about half of that. When I walked in, I was told they didn't want to see any of the girls clothes I brought. They were only interested in boys jeans that day. So much for all the time I spent getting the girls clothes prepared. They were, however, willing to look at the dress, coat, and the boys jeans I had. I had to fill out a form before the teenager working would even look at the clothes. She came back with an offer of $16---for everything. I declined, knowing I could not only sell these items for more than that EACH on Ebay, but that I could even donate them and get more value on my charitable tax deduction than what they offered. Too bad, because they are beautiful items that someone could have gotten a really good deal on. I would rather donate them and let someone get them from Goodwill than be ripped off so the store could profit. I understand they need to have their margin, but this was simply ridiculous. I wasn't looking to "cash in," but I did expect fair value. Additionally, when the girl handed me the items back, she didn't bother refolding anything; she just flopped it all down in a pile and walked away. I was left standing at the counter, trying to repack those items and everything they didn't want to see without any space to do it. Another cashier was kind enough to offer to help. The store was hot and stuffy and dark. It was a warm day and they didn't have the lights or air on, just a fan blowing behind the counter. I was actually surprised that Southlands Management would allow a store that dingy looking on the inside to be on the Main Street of the mall. Such a shame. Great idea, but the bad management in evident in the lack of buying knowledge and ability to use the utilities on a busy Saturday afternoon. If you are looking to "turn your closet into cash" as they advertise, beware. Call before you go to any trouble, and don't expect to get much more than enough to buy lunch for you and your kid when you leave--and maybe a cookie, if you're lucky. read more

I have had mixed experiences here but gave it 4 stars anyway because we don't have many options for consignment in this area and they beat the other stores I've been in. It seems like the other reviewers reviewed soon after they opened. I've been in several times over the last few months & my kids usually find more than enough items to use any credit we get. My kids are 6 & 9. I think they're getting more picky about what they take & thus the selection is better. I do feel that their prices are high & if I wasn't using store credit I wouldn't buy much. Used jeans for the same price as new ones at Target are not appealing unless they're really high end brands. read more

I went here to sell some of my daughter's clothes. I usually just donate them and after this experience I will keep doing just that. They took 2 pairs of Gymboree denim shorts, 4 Hanna Anderson dresses, a Hanna Anderson sun hat, and a Gap shirt. The paid me $7.20. Really, less then a dollar per item? All of the items were an excellent condition as I know they don't want worn, ripped, stained items but this was less then what I could of sold them for at a garage sale. When, I was browsing the store I didn't see anything that great and was surprised by the condition of some of the items. Don't bother bringing your clothes here to sell, it is not worth it. read more

I never post reviews, but I'm really hoping something will change at this store. To start out, my oldest is 12 and I have rotated her clothes for new ones at consignment stores all her life. So, I love these places! I was so excited, when this place opened so close to home, but I have just about given up on them. #1 complaint, I've tried to sell my stuff 3 times now. They only accept very specific items on any given day. All three times, I called to see what they were accepting. All three times I separated that out of my stuff, I hauled my 3 boxes into the car, down the mall, and into the store. All three times they were accepting different sizes than when I called hours earlier. This is just not acceptable. I'm fine if you look through my clothes and don't want them, but to haul all my stuff in, AFTER calling, just to have to haul it all back to the car without it even being looked at is just rediculous. They need to be specific about what they want, maybe post it on their website daily and STICK TO IT! But really, they should just accept all sizes, seasons at a time. Also, they aren't accepting long items until late August?!?! I'm shopping for school clothes right now, I don't need any more summer things at this point! This place is a joke! To their credit, I have bought quite a bit of clothing for my children, but after that, nothing new seems to be in. Their prices are a little high on like target and walmart brands. I can buy them new for that price. Don't sell that crap to me used! Overall, I'm just very dissapointed. I was really hoping to find the resale experience that I'm use to, close to home. The girl working there was very nice, but this place reminds me of the Aurora Mall.. it's like a piece of the Aurora Mall in Southlands. I will not be going back. Here's why- I went in with a tub of name brand summer clothes, all in excellent condition. They took about 6 outfits. I could get $20 cash or $40 in store credit. I decided to look around first and then decide. Here it is the middle of May, and their racks are full of winter clothing! All name brands yes, but most looking worn and old. I took the cash.The girl told me they don't take Walmart, Target, or Old Navy brands, but I would much rather buy a generic brand cute outfit in excellent condition than an old looking name brand outfit. Target and Old Navy have some really cute stuff! I have been buying name brands and generic brands for over 10 years now (with 5 kids), and the generic brands even seem to hold up better than some name brands. And to support other reviews, their prices are outrageous for what they are selling. I don't know how they are managing to stay in business. Don't waste your time and money here. Cotton Kids in Parker, and Little Tykes in Aurora are way more worth your time. read more
