My autistic daughter who is 3 was never able to sit through a cleaning until our first time here today at Kids First Dentistry! The staff went above and beyond to make my daughter feel safe and comfortable. Her twin asked a lot of questions and instead of brushing each question off the staff took their time and answered every single one. We are truly impressed and are very happy we found a great fit for our three kids!!

Such a great dentist! Great with kids. The staff Is very nice and Dr. does great work and if very nice as well! So glad we found them :)

True to their name: Kids first. My daughter is very happy and does not feel scared to go to the dentist anymore. She now looks forward to her dental visits.

This place is AMAZING! The ENTIRE staff is really incredible! We loved Dr. "Raj" who took the time to make both me and my daughter feel comfortable and eased our minds about her teeth. She ended up getting two extractions. The dentist and assistant were so understanding and allowed me to be by her side every step of the way. No other dentist even comes close to Kids First Dentistry!! Thank you KFD!

If you are looking for gentle yet quality dental care Dr. Yasalapu at Kids First Dentistry is the place to go. From walking through the doors you are greeted by a clean waiting room with plenty of toys, and gaming systems. The front desk staff were super friendly and the wait time was minimal. Once called back the assistants actually seemed to enjoy their job as they took the time to make small talk with my very nervous daughter and to ensure her it would all be okay. The dentist greeted us and I never left my daughter's side. Whenever my daughter would start to get nervous and start to squirm or whine the dentist would stop and let her recoup and even let me sit right next to her to calm her. This by far has been the best dental experience, I definitely recommend this place!

It's never a good sign if you are not allowed to be alone with your unconscious child. Especially if they are special needs. If you feel this review is paranoid, please read the reviews below mine and use Google as a way to search about things like this. Update: Unfortunately, Due to Covid and many changes within the healthcare system, it's difficult to be in the back room with your child while they are under anesthesia. This is incredibly frustrating as you can't trust everyone with your children. Even licensed professionals. I encourage everyone to do as much research as you can on the places you consider for your child's care. Read reviews and ask around to get a better picture of where you are taking your child. I will leave a link below on how to report concerning behavior regarding a licensed professional. Even if you don't get justice for what happened to your child, reporting them is a step in the right direction to help establish a pattern. I specifically…read morechose a pediatric dentist expecting kindness, warmth, and patience for a child naturally nervous at a first appointment. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite--from the front desk to the dentist. A few days before our visit, I spoke with the front desk receptionist over the phone. She came across as sharp, indifferent, and irritable. Against my better judgment, I brought my son anyway, hoping she was just having a bad day. Upon arrival, she was stern, unfriendly, and completely unwelcoming--even when I smiled. I tried to chalk it up to "maybe another bad day," but this was just the start. While waiting, we watched a "1st dental visit" video on YouTube, which helped my son get excited instead of nervous. I didn't expect balloons, stickers, or fanfare--just a smile would have been enough. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff followed the same pattern. The tech who called our name had no greeting, no smile, and no warmth. The x-ray tech was harsh and condescending, repeatedly saying "don't bite down" without explaining what she was doing. My son's curiosity quickly turned into fear. The dental assistant was completely disengaged, no greeting, no explanation. When she tried to use the dental brush, my son screamed out of fear, and instead of comforting him, she condescendingly closed the door and forced him to hold the instrument, telling him it "didn't hurt." This was deeply upsetting and made my son feel unsafe and unheard. Finally, the dentist arrived, wearing the same stern, tired expression. No smile, no reassurance, no effort to calm my son--just straight to business. My son went into full panic mode, and the staff simply shut the door, offering no comfort or distraction. This visit was supposed to be a positive introduction to dental care, but it was instead stressful, cold, and upsetting. I regret ignoring my gut feeling after that initial phone call. I will not return, and I hope management seriously examines the culture of this office--children deserve far better. Takeaway: A simple smile goes a long way. I don't know what happened the day of my son's visit but regardless of what happened, if anything, that's personal business that should remain in the back office, the faces of the staff represent the business. FIRST IMPRESSIONS last and I will not visit this place again

I have been a patient for twenty years, and in the last month, I have had to reschedule two appointments due to long wait times (30 then 40 mins). Their most qualified and efficient hygienists have retired or moved on. The kiosk check-in system is also faulty and does not always go through to the front desk, so they think you're late or a no-show unless you speak to the receptionist. There is also now a host standing by the kiosks... why? I am disappointed because I pay for PPO just to continue going to CD. I vote for them for Bakersfield's Best every year. And I have referred all of my friends and family to them throughout these years. But I won't be doing that anymore. Will report back if things improve.
