He is very professional and knowledgable about the human body, as well as massage techniques that are effective in healing any soreness, pain, or tightness that you may have. Finding someone who has 5 stars for every single review is pretty unusual, but Charles is definitely deserving of them! He certainly knows his stuff (muscle groups, injury assessment, etc) and has a fantastic demeanor. His massage technique and hands are AMAAAAZZZING. I have been to him twice and fallen asleep on the table both times, which would probably be an insult to anyone other than a masseuse. He is professional, considerate and very talented. In the past, I have been extremely particular about who is giving me a massage and have left some massages early if the masseuse is not giving me the right vibe or the massage is not feeling right. Charles is amazing. He has the rare ability to do much more than basic massage, more like deep tissue body work, but give you a totally relaxing experience at the same time. Charles is excellent, he focused on the trouble areas I indicated and even clarified how the work he did on my back would benefit my knees. It usually takes me ~20 minutes to get relaxed and settled into a massage, which is why I typically opt for a 90-minute. However, just a couple of minutes into my massage with Charles and I felt like I was floating off into the clouds. He was really great at easing into the work, and then really working out my back issues. He's also SO nice. What a plus! My posture was better afterwards, and I felt like I could breathe better! The 1st two experiences I had at lakeview body work were great so I decided to join the massage club/package. I noticed immediately after joining the club that it was extremely difficult to book a "club" massage. There were never any appointments after work or on my off days available. There weren't appointments available ever. when I tried to book farther out like 2 or 3 months I was told they only post about a month or 2 out. I stalked the calendar constantly! I told Charles about my difficulties and my calendar stalking multiple times as he charges you monthly whether you get a massage or not, he was very unhelpful with a resolution to this issue. There just weren't that many time slots available, ever. After multiple Emails back and forth and very little effort on his part I quit b/c at this point I was out 2 massages and the charges for both of them. I also noticed after the 1st 2 massages they did not seem the same, he didn't listen and focus on the areas I needed to like my neck and shoulders and he was only using 1 hand at a time which I found strange compared to other massages I have had. I just had my first massage with Charles. I was referred by my physical therapist who was helping me recover from chronic headaches due to not so great posture and sitting at a computer all day. My progress stalled and she suggested I see Charles to help with some muscle issues. He was so great and accommodating and able to fit me in within a week. When I arrived, I noticed how peaceful and amazingly gorgeous the office area was. He was very friendly and had already talked with my doctor, so he knew what my specific issues were. The actual massage room was peaceful and beautifully decorated as well. The sheets on the massage table were the softest sheets ever. Seriously. Just before the massage began he explained to me what he would be doing and that if it ever became too painful to let him know. He magically found all the tense/sore spots and did an awesome job of applying just the right amount of pressure. Hard enough to get out knots and tension but not painful. It was so relaxing. I was face down on that little donut pillow and I was scared I would drool all over his floor LOL. When it was over I felt like I could just melt into a puddle. I already scheduled my next massage with him. Charles knows what he's doing and he does a great job. He's really friendly and patiently answered all of my questions. I've been going to Charles for over a year now. I first started seeing him when he was at another spa and followed him to his own place and then to a better location. He's hands down the best massage therapist I've ever been to, and I've been to dozens, all with good reviews. They're generally nice for the most part but either totally incompetent or just flat out not worth going back to. You know what I'm talking about, even with a Groupon, Gilt City, or Living Social, you're thinking, this is so not worth the money. He doesn't skimp you on your time, he doesn't randomly walk out of the room in the middle, and he's not poking you with his elbows. He's as talkative as you want to be whether it's silent, talking the entire time, or anything in between. He tells you what's wrong with you and gets rid of whatever pain is bothering you. I sit in front of the computer all day everyday, so I have neck pain. I go to him regularly to relieve it. His fingers work their magic, and I'm all good. And I keep coming back for more like a drug addict. The only thing that's changed is that I get longer massages and get them more frequently, just cause they feel so good. He's right next to Wellington Brown/Purple in Lakeview, so he's conveniently located. He's open Monday from 12 pm to 9 pm, Friday from 10:45 am to 9 pm, Saturday from 10:45 am to 9 pm, and Sunday from 2:30 pm to 6 pm. You can schedule online 3 months out, so as long as you either schedule ahead of time a little further out or check for cancelations more last minute, you can get an appointment. You'll get an automatic email for your appointments and cancelations and a reminder. I schedule all 3 months out. He has a 24 hour cancelation policy. He's competitively priced. Your first massage is $39 for 60 minutes. If you prepay, a 60 minute massage is $60 and a 90 minute massage is $80. I started with the 60 minute massages, but now I'm all about the 90 minute ones and have been for awhile. It's totally worth it. Once you try him, you've found your masseuse. read more

Charles is an excellent LMT; he's extremely knowledgeable, responsive to feedback, and can apply lots of pressure (if needed). In addition to regular massages, which are great, I've done all 10 sessions of structural therapy, which fundamentally changed my body for the better. The 10 sessions of structural therapy systematically work through the body's myofascial system (ligaments, muscles, tendons, and surrounding connective tissues). Some of the sessions were painful during, some of the sessions were painful after, and some of the sessions were fine, but after all the work was said and done, I was more flexible, had greater range of motion, had better posture, and felt more loose and limber than when I started. Moreover, all of these changes were visually evident in the before and after photos I took. If you're thinking about structural therapy, I highly recommend talking to Charles to see if it's a good fit for your goals and interests for bodywork. read more

I've never had a massage before, and Charles was really helpful in explaining everything he was doing and making me comfortable. He also didn't need any direction, I told him my shoulder and neck was bothering me and he took over from there. He was very intelligent and give me advice on how to mitigate some of my pain, and also life advice in general.
