I mostly love this place although I get ignored more often than not. Ok the majority of the time I am not acknowledged, greeted or helped. But. For what they have, I am happy I found it! Good wholesome food and treats for my dog. I have never purchased cat items but they have them! I have bought toys too but they are not sturdy enough for my pitbull. I once looked for an item they were out of and the girl behind the counter ordered me more, didn't charge me to place the order and then emailed me when it was ready for pick up! So disappointed in the Woke direction this store has taken and pushes in our face as we walk in. This used to be one of my favorite places to shop. I referred a neighbor in February, and they walked out the moment they saw the virtue signaling dog toys on display as you walk in and in the Barkery. I just took my 9 year old Chinese Crested in to get groomed for the first time and am very happy. Becci really listened to what I wanted and even asked for pictures of what he looks like when groomed. He's not the easiest guy as he hates water, brushing and being away from me, but they did a really great job. When I picked him up, he looked and smelled great and everything was done exactly as I asked. I also really liked the merchandise available in the store, lots of cute harnesses, toys and a nice selection of food and treats. I have purchased raw food in various stores all over Scottsdale and this place is by far the best. The best prices and the biggest selection. I'm able to offer my dogs a variety of brands and proteins without breaking the bank. I don't really give my dogs treats due to one's food aggression but I'll definitely be shopping here for treats as gifts for other people's dogs. The staff are always very kind and helpful. My experience continues to be positive with the new owner. I stopped in for Honest Kitchen grain free base mix dog food and some healthy cat food. The owner was very knowledgeable about canine and feline nutrition as well as all of the products she carries. Basically she affirmed everything that I was previously told by my pets vet. The new owner carries a nice selection of good quality pet food at various price points. I look forward to continuing to support this local business. I hope that she will continue to offer training by Brenda of Awesome Mannered Pets, but I did not think to ask her at the time of my visit. I happened upon Kosmos while shopping at AJ's next door. They were very gracious to take my dog in without an appointment. I asked that her hair not be trimmed too short. Unfortunately, when I returned to pick her up, she was cut down to about 1/2." Additionally, her bottom and stomach were shaved to the skin and she was cowering and shaking when I picked her up. The grooming was not complete, as the "gook" below her eyes was not washed away, and for this grooming on a small 10lb dog cost me $57.00. Outrageous. It gets worse. My dog cowered in the car going home and immediately started scooting on the carpet when we got home. She is still cowering, her bottom is raw, and she is afraid to go outside for fear of the cold...even with a jacket on to warm her up. My happy, bouncy puppy is now hiding in my bedroom. What did they do to my dog? I will not return to Kosmos! Very, very disappointing. read more

3 fluffy clean pups and 2 happy owners! We used the self wash and it was wonderful! The staff was super helpful and friendly! Washing our 3 pups in the private self wash area was great. We could have all 3 in there off leash while one of us washed and the other dried. Our youngest didn't like the drier (that's no fault of Kosmo's!!) so we used the handy short leashes on hooks to make sure she didn't jump. And with the super powerful drier it didn't take long. Our 100 pound big boy fit easily in the wash tub and on the great lifting drying table. Both the tub and the lifting drying table were at standing height. Which really saved our backs! Love this place and we'll be back! Highly recommend! read more

I LOVE Kosmo's!! Not only is the staff some of the nicest and friendliest people, but they are super helpful. I have a Great Dane who does NOT like baths or getting his nails trimmed. When I come to use their tubs, there is always someone willing to help me get the giant baby into the one. One time the girl even crawled in and coaxed him up with treats. As far as the nail trimmings, this is one of the few places where Brody doesn't fuss too much and they let me bring him back and hold him while they do it. Also, before I went to feeding my big guy raw -- I was buying giant bags of food twice a month. The staff always brought it to my car for me without me even having to ask. (I'm not feeble at all, but trying to carry a 30lb bag and maneuver a Dane is NOT easy.) The owners and staff are super generous too. I volunteer for a rescue and when I approached them about a possible in-kind donation, not only were they happy to give -- but they exceeded my expectations. Such generous souls. I have been to Kosmo's twice now. The first time was for a self service dog bath. The people working there were very helpful and friendly. When I was done I was looking for a soft flying disk for my border collie to catch. They didn't have any in stock, but when I asked they were more than willing to order one. The second time was to use their grooming services just yesterday. The staff was again very friendly and worked well with my dog. When completed my dog looked clean and very well groomed. I am very happy with the job done by the groomer. I would recommend Kosmo's to anyone looking for self-service or full service grooming. read more

I try to shop local businesses to support my community and because I generally get the best service. Not so at Kosmo's since new owners took over. I went in to buy my specialty dog food but they didn't have the size I wanted. They took my number and told me they would order it and call me on Friday (this was Tuesday). Having not been called I walked in the following Tuesday and was told the food hadn't been ordered but it would "definitely" be in this Friday and I was "promised" a phone call when it arrived. Never heard from anyone. Found a new source that charges $18 less. I don't think Kosmo's will be able to stay open if they lose customers like me. read more

Love this place!!! Everything is new and improved since my last visit years ago. The self wash area has been completely updated and is fully stocked!! I can't wait to go back to give one of my dogs a wash. The staff was very friendly. They helped show me around the store. I ended up buying a cat toy that was suggested by one of the owners. Vicky has been so helpful and in fact has helped me more than anyone else (including my vet) in the last ten years, regarding the concerns I have for my rescue dog, Lily. My sweet dog basically has walked away or eaten very little of any type of dog food I have ever given her. Whatever I tried that she would actually eat, she would later develop digestion problems from. After discovering The Fetching Dog, I was given suggestions of the type of premium dog foods to try with Lily. The change in her eating is like a miracle. Did a great job on making sure the dogs were groomed exactly as requested. The ears were as short as we asked. When i came to get them, the dogs, couldn't be more relaxed. Recently returned after the remodel -- what a difference!! They have really taken this place and upgraded on the side of food/treats, toys, accessories and health products. No more high counter that hides the sales associate, no more large baths taking up half of the store - a cute little nook with two self washes have taken their place - AND the sweet smells of aromatherapy as soon as you open the door which I was told helps to keep the dogs/cats more relaxed during their (potentially stressful) grooming experience; in all, a very open and welcoming atmosphere greets both you and your pets. We recently moved into the area. I just walked in to Kosmo's interested in finding good training treats for our 10 week old Standard Poodles - new to our family as of two days ago. WOW. I not only received excellent feedback on food and treats, but also was given outstanding information on dog training, veterinarians, and dog sitting in the area. All based on information I shared that they felt complimented my specific needs and with no connection/benefit to them. After speaking with one of the owners and one of the employees, I have no doubt that I will use their grooming services and will purchasing my products from them. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that Anton at Lorenzo's Dog Training (highly recommended by an employee at Kosmo's) followed up with me within minutes of my emailing him to schedule an evaluation of my pups this week and to provide me with specific feedback for training. Again, Lorenzo's is not affiliated with Kosmo's but it is always helpful to get a referral from a complimentary business in the space. I am looking forward to getting off to a great start with my pups and really appreciate the people at Kosmo's for their assistance. I rescued my dog from this location over 2 years ago and have taken him back every month or so for grooming with no issues until today. They completely shaved him down for no reason after I asked for a short trim and to not take much off. I've never been so mad!! He is now itching none stop and looks like a completely different dog! Took our Maltese/Shitzu's into Kosmo's for a full grooming....we am so incredibly pleased and impressed with the results. We have been trying to find a new groomer for the past year, since moving to Scottsdale from San Diego, and we have found our home. AMANDA is the best dog groomer we have ever had, she consulted with us and our dogs prior to their first grooming, she gave us exactly what we asked for. Our dogs have never looked better, nor have they ever come home looking and smelling so wonderful. The very best dog wash. It has self serve with everything you need. Just walk in with your dog. They give clean towels, all the good smelling stuff for shampoos and all rinses. Nothing but the best. We used them for 2 years and now we bought a house in North Phoenix and still make the drive out to Scottsdale just to get our dogs groomed here. The staff and owner are great. Most importantly the quality of the grooming is great and our dogs look so nice and leave happy every time. I used to take my yorkie to petsmart grooming, I've always felt like "another number" when I walked in there. Kosmo's however, I feel like I'm walking into my best friends business. Reviewing solely for the self-serve dog wash, which might be the best in town --- Very easy for the dogs to get in and out, lots of room for a person to stand on both sides of the tub (which is great if there is two of you), no upgrades if you want different shampoos, etc. Very helpful staff. And here's the kicker (and an INSANE deal). if you buy a bag of food or case of canned, the self wash is free. That's a $17 coupon, friends. They carry high end foods. My elderly Cocker hadn't been groomed in a few months due to a slipped disc in his neck but Emma was able to bring out his old man handsomeness! I hesitatted about writing a negative review, but after reading one that sounds like my experience I thought it best to. I had gone three times prior, one to do a self serve and two for the "professional cut/groom." I specifically wanted a "neaten" to leave the long hair in place and clean around the backside but leave the pretty long hair cut. NOT WHAT I GOT. The groomer did a total shave it all off leaving non of the long pomerainian fluff!. When I went in to pick up the dog the groomer couldn't greet me "she was too busy" hmm. I was disappointed to say the least - Now after seeing that they do Groupon, which I did not have, I understand the rush job. I will not be coming back. I left a generous tip, even though the more I thought about what I got, the sorrier I was that I did leave a tip.
