This was not our first time ordering from Mr. Baker we usually stop in and pick cakes straight from the display case but this was our first custom cake experience, and it was so easy from start to finish. When we went into the bakery, we were given a card with the email address and told to email the baker directly. I emailed that Saturday while still in the store, and by Sunday morning I already had a response from Victoria. She was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process! I sent her inspiration pictures, and she quickly provided three different quote options. All of the inspiration cakes I sent included fresh flowers, and Victoria explained that we would need to bring our own flowers to the bakery the Friday before pickup so they could safely place them on the cake the next morning. Everything went smoothly, and when we arrived to pick up the cake, it looked absolutely stunning! The flowers we brought in were beautifully arranged, and the entire cake looked elegant and professionally done. We ordered vanilla cake with buttercream and their Strawberry Chiffon flavor, and both were AMAZING. Everyone at the bridal shower kept talking about how delicious the cake was! So many guests had never heard of Mr. Baker before and wanted to know where the cake came from that we actually brought extra business cards and handed them out during the shower. Thank you so much to Victoria and the entire team at Mr. Baker for creating such a beautiful cake and making the process so easy. Everyone there is always so kind and welcoming, and we will definitely continue ordering from them in the future!

I ordered a strawberry matcha latte, an almond croissant, and a strawberry croissant (for my sister). Two employees were working, and the service was very kind. However, I found the quality of the drink and food to be mediocre. The strawberry matcha was decent and visually appealing, but aside from its cute appearance, nothing stood out in terms of taste. My almond croissant was hard to bite into. This was disappointing as it was flavorful. I'm not sure if it was because I went in the afternoon, but I had to bite and chew harder than expected. I've never had that experience with a croissant before. My sister had no issues with hers, so I'm perplexed as to what went wrong with my croissant.

When the employee (a younger woman with glasses working around 2:00 p.m.) finally brought out the new trays, my wife requested one. The employee refused, telling her she had to take the older bread first because they needed to sell those ones off. She had an attitude for no reason. This was confusing and rude, especially since they usually yell "fresh bread" to encourage customers to grab the newest items. To make matters worse, a man walked in just two minutes later and requested three of the exact same fresh breads, and the same employee gave them to him without hesitation. The inconsistency and blatant lack of customer service were incredibly upsetting. It is disappointing to be told you have to take "old" product while others are given the fresh items you specifically waited for. Sad...what a waste of time coming here. We ended up not buying the bread. lol and the manager just responded in a typical way but offered no free bread for us to return...that would be the proper way to operate.

I honestly saw the prices and saw what people were walking away with... it turned me off. But my husband got a a breakfast burrito and French toast... we got the breakfast burrito and I took a bite. It was good, but definitely not worth the money and the 45 minute wait. Then we waited another 15 minutes... the French toast still hadn't come out. So my husband went to go ask and they said another 20 minutes... okay so one hour for French toast? Then we waited 30 minutes... we needed to leave so we went inside to see where it was at... girl at the counter said another 15 minutes! Like what! So I was mad now at this point. I stood there right in front of the counter making sure they can see me because everyone who ordered French toast after us had gotten theirs, ate theirs, and left already!! So she finally put it in a to go container and just placed it in a bag and threw it on the counter. Didn't even look at us! So you know what! Forget this place. This place is meant to look trendy and take your money! That's it! They have a sign that says "Want better, not more" Yah well we did want better, but we got more bs from another wanna-be brunch spot

That smell, that warmth, that feeling of home--it's something you don't forget. Alebrijes Bakery is the only place I've found that truly brings me back to those memories. From the moment you walk in, it feels authentic. The bread is incredibly fresh and tastes like the same recipes I remember as a child--nothing commercial, nothing rushed, just real, traditional pan dulce made with care. Even though my grandparents have recently passed, this bakery has become a place where I can still honor those memories. It's local to my home here in Rancho Cucamonga, and now I get to bring my own children in so they can experience the same flavors, smells, and culture that shaped my childhood. That old East LA Hispanic tradition still lives here--and Alebrijes is keeping it alive. This place has become part of our family traditions, and I'm so grateful for it.
