We have shopped here for years. Bought a sofa and pair of chairs here last Saturday. Going in tomorrow to pick them up. Store has always had a great selection of furniture, art, lamps and accessories. I've always found something to buy when stopping in. I really like how they have a price tag on each piece and the dates that the item will be marked down with the new price. I do have a gorgeous sofa to sell and six linen dining chairs Id like to consign. I sent an email with photos on Saturday to the owner asking if she would consign them but I haven't heard back. They are closed on Sunday. FYI. The reason for only four stars is because there is no implied expectation of help (from the store) when picking up the furniture. We rented a box truck for easy pick up. Once we arrived we had to ask for help loading. They also don't offer any shrink wrap or protective wrap- which is a staple for every furniture store I've ever purchased from. The furniture at Avery Lane isn't cheap- even though it's used, it is still rather expensive- we spent over $3500 this visit and wasn't offered any type of help moving /lifting the furniture into the box truck until we asked. read more

Avery Lane's promise of stellar customer satisfaction seems not to apply in every situation... the chandilier I purchased was misrepresented as something that was in good working order for a 12ft ceiling. When I went to have it installed and pulled it from the box (Avery Lane employees took it down and boxed it for shipping) I realized it was cut to fit an 8ft ceiling and damaged. Power cord had electrical tape holding it together. After contacting the manufacturer, i learned the only solution was to spend over $500 to get parts and pay an electrician to re string it in order for it to be functional. When I contacted the store, both the salesperson (Jamie) and owner (Darlene) said sorry but they would not be responsible for the issues. I am out several months time and over $900 in additional expenses. I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service of Avery Lane and question the integrity of the store. I will not be shopping there again. read more

This post is in response to more of Darlenes lies. It's bizarre that she continues to make the same statements and claims accusing me of coming on the wrong day and she doesn't have her facts straight . This is why I had to leave because she continued to accuse me of things that I didn't do or say from day one. I hope that she can prove what she's saying because I'm tired of being attacked by her and targeted. I told her I did not come on Saturday and she continues to tell me that I did. She needs to prove that I came on Saturday then. I know I didn't come on Saturday and I know that she approved that I could come on Friday and I did exactly what she said. My driver that delivered my items is my witness, I have text messages proving that we came on Friday, my call records also show proof that I called Avery lane, and the photographs that I sent to her are dated on Friday afternoon. Just because she forgot to inform her warehouse she has created a complete smear campaign targeting me from the day I arrived after she approved it. She must not speak English because she continues to claim that we delivered our furniture on a Saturday, then she acts like I was electively complaining... when the truth be told that after she sent me her reprimanding email for coming on the wrong day which she had her facts incorrect. I was simply reaching out hoping I could speak to her asking her why she kept accusing me on coming on Saturday because I didn't. ...she's the one that told me to come on Friday. . I have a witnesses and proof that I never came unannounced on Saturday to drop off the furniture. I came on Friday immediately after speaking to her. She even asked me to send her some other photos of items that I was interested in consigning and I did that too and they're dated on the day that I talk to her.. my phone records would prove that that is the day that I spoke with her also. The paperwork that I filled out in the warehouse is dated on Friday not Saturday and yet she continues to insist that I was doing something wrong. Any normal person would question why she sent me a reprimanding email telling me that I came on the wrong day and that's what I tried to do.... She refused to answer the phone and now she's trying to make me look like some raging client trying to clarify why she even sent me the letter in the first place .., just because she has a memory loss and forgot and she cannot take any responsibility here is the problem. I have proof of what I'm saying and she doesn't. She's crazy to keep saying I came on a Saturday. She's a liar . This is why I left because I cannot, nor did I need to be accused of something I didn't do. I know for a fact that she had approved for me to come on Friday I have proof . I didn't come alone. I had a driver that came with me as a witness so she can stop talking about Saturday and blaming me on something that I didn't do. That would be the best place to start. .When we arrived at the warehouse, they didn't know we were coming and the warehouse said that this happens all the time people bring their things in and they don't have any record of it. I'm the one that should be in fear for my life because I've been defending myself from her false accusations and she better be able to prove what she's saying because that's why this whole thing has gone on. She's such a coward and cannot accept responsibility for the fact that she simply forgot to inform the warehouse that she had approved that I could come. And now she's dancing around it continuing to point the finger at me and thank God I got out of there. Darlene completely forgot to tell them it's unbelievable how she is unwilling to accept responsibility. Continues to blame me on something I didn't do when I know I have proof. I have witnesses and a contract her warehouse gave me to fill out.. it's dated This is bizarre she has targeted me and wouldn't be able to prove anything she's saying ... She created this whole smear campaign against me for defending myself... She can continue to talk about her stellar reputation however since we're all human, except for Darlene... she is totally unable to accept responsibility for her own actions or non-actions. So for the record, there's nothing to dispute if she doesn't have her fax straight in the first place . I did not come on Saturday. I have a witness. I came with a driver and I signed the form once she gets her story straight she might be able to make some sense . This is exactly why I left because we kept going in circles. She kept telling me I came on Saturday. I know I didn't come on Saturday. I know that she approved me to come on Friday and here we are. It's crazy making.. It's even crazier that she decided to post her response saying the same thing I would like for her to prove that I came there on Saturday. I know I can prove I came on Friday. read more

As someone who has been to Avery Lane over the years, I feel it has gone downhill as they have expanded. I think when it first started, the employees were friendlier and prices were more reasonable. The quality of the consignment furniture is still outstanding. However, as it has grown, the prices have become way too expensive and the customer service has declined significantly. I see in some of the other reviews, there is some acrimony over the owner and other employees. I understand how the owner can come off in a certain negative light to some individuals. However, in my brief interactions, she had never been impolite or rude. Her employees, however, have been less helpful over the years - that much, I can attest to. Sometimes, when companies start to get a taste of success and growth, they lose sight of what made them great - i.e., the simple things: good prices, kind customer service, and quality products/services. They get greedy and lose their footing, so to speak. I think as individual humans, we do the same thing. But in my opinion, that's the most important time to re-ground oneself and stick with the principles that drove your success. In Avery Lane's case, it was quality consignment furniture at a good price with great customer service. In my opinion, as Avery Lane has grown, they have lost some of that original appeal. And, since there are plenty of other consignment stores in the area that deliver quality consignment furniture with better prices/service, it's just easier to shop elsewhere. read more

Masks are optional and apparently, so is the customer service. I work at a higher end furniture consignment store in Park City, Utah. I love to see other sister stores and I appreciate them as well as the work that goes into every detail. My father and step mother will soon be moving to Scottsdale and I have been on the hunt for a fun store that they will be able to use to help furnish their new home. I walked in and nobody was at the front. As I walked on in, a lady was working at a desk to the left. I greeted her, made eye contact, said hello but didn't receive a word or a smile in return . I walked every inch of the store, it's just lovely. Unfortunately, not a single soul smiled nor said hello. Maybe it was because I was wearing a mask and they were not ? I spent an hour at the store in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon. There were at least three items that I was interested in for myself and others that were on my parents list. I don't know why but when I had a question, I couldn't find anyone around. As I left the store, the ladies sitting behind the desk watched me leave.
