This is the type of restaurant that would normally be added to my "tourist trap" one-and-done list based on the patio seating, shark decor and sticky floors...however, after years of visits, My Village Pub has truly become an MVP for us. Took a hungry bunch of high school rowing team members out to dinner here...my son picked the spot. Pretty darn good choice! The ten of us were seated without much of a wait. Our server was pleasant, and quickly took out drink orders. Once that was handled, the lads made varied selections off the menu. The food came in a bit, and none of the boys complained at all. From burgers to wraps to pasta and fish (I had the delish fish and chips), everyone was smiling, and the portions satisfied their big athletic appetites. Was in the area and was looking for a place to watch the Barcelona vs Real Madrid game. Asked the host if they could accommodate us with a TV to watch the soccer game during busy NFL Sunday. He was able to sit us outside and put the game on! My wife ordered the Mahi tacos, I ordered the Hangover Burger with fries. Food came out relatively fast, even on a busy Sunday afternoon! My family came here as a very last minute dinner and it was a really nice surprise. We did have a little wait so maybe see if they take reservations, but overall the staff served us very fast. We ordered the grouper and shrimp tacos with guacamole and it was delicious. My ceaser salad wrap and fries were also really good. I do have to say it didn't really taste like ceasar but the blackened chicken was so good I didn't care. We also ordered their frozen drinks which were very good and I felt the alcohol halfway through my Bushwhacker. Overall 10/10. read more

The only good thing was the food. It started with being sat first at a dirty table, but we asked to move. Think scraps of food on the table, dirty napkins on the ground at the seats. We waited about 10 minutes to be greeted by our waitress, Amy. (sp?) We ordered drinks (which took too long as well), and shared appetizers. Honestly, the food was on point and was the only quick thing that happened. That's why we put "maybe" as a place to dine. But it would be a last resort for us to have to eat there again. We had the burger sliders, avocado eggrolls, queso dip and some fries. The fry season was really good too. But we had to go get our own side dishes since our waitress didn't check back at all. Not to mention our silverware rollups were dirty as hell. The whole experience wasn't awesome. At all. I wouldn't recommend. There are so many other places- I would avoid if possible. And then when she dropped off our check, she said she would just wait for it while she stood there and we read the bill. Ambiance is okay and server was nice. Unfortunately the food and overall service is meh. We were sat inside, near a kitchen entrance and restrooms. During our meal, at least 3 employees hit my chair on their path to and from the kitchen. For my meal, I ordered a burger, well done, with a side of fries. The meal came out with a side of chips and a burger that was near raw. Informed our server of both issues. I was brought a plate of fries - which is all I was able to eat. This was not our first time dining at MVP, but it was probably the worst to date. Maybe it was just a one-off. Took almost 15 minutes for a server (Piper) to greet us. At that point, we were ready to order and all she wanted to do was take a drink order. She returned about five minutes later to take the food order. We have five people in our party. After about 20 minutes, four of the entrées were delivered (we ordered 2 salads and 3 burgers). One of the burgers came out wrong (had onions when we asked for none). It took at least another five minutes from my other daughter's burger to come out. It was SO GREASY SHE DIDN'T EAT MOST OF IT. But the server was nowhere to be found. By the time the food arrive all our drinks were empty. We had to request to the server multiple times to fill drinks. For the most part, the food tasted good however it was not a good experience. Not sure if the server just had a bad night, but definitely was not on top of things. read more

Go to MVP a lot when we are in siesta key. Bar staff is awesome! We went March 30 at 5:20 to get our fresh catch cooked. We have done it before and they do a good job. Got seated at 6:05 and was informed we can't cook your fresh catch between 6-9. Nothing was said to us when we put in our name at 5:20. When we talked to the manager he was a complete jerk and informed us that it was after 6:00 and his grill was full. Best part to his explanation was that it was raining and no one was sitting outside which is over half their seating. Won't go back with our fresh catch again. Siesta's MVP is everything you need/want in a beach adjacent sports bar. Outdoor seating, TV's, traditional bar food, lots of cold drink choices, a reasonable price point, and friendly service. We arrived, sat down, chugged a few margaritas, and were off to the races. Our young server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed; she even entertained my father in law while he was making small talk (much appreciated). We tried the wings, egg rolls, burger, reuben, cheese steak, and (always glad they have them) onion rings. All dishes were hot, well-prepared, and flavorful. The (full) cheesesteak was definitely the standout sandwich because it was simple. Steak, veggies, and cheese. Why complicate a masterpiece? Yes, parking is a nightmare on this Sarasota strip. My wife and I stopped in here for something different one night when in Sarasota. Loved the sports bar type atmosphere. I was not expecting much from the food, but was very pleasantly surprised. My wife and I split the pretzel app. It was huge and beer cheese was really good. For my meal I had the MVP Mac Burger. It was like an upscale Big Mac. So much flavor and the burger Pattie's were cooked to a perfect medium rare. It it very filling, but tastes so good, you can't not finish it. read more

They have a nice patio outside by the street, as well as indoor with TVs/Sports Bar. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We got a variety of items, salad, burger, avocado rolls, and a bowl. Food was tasty, salad and avocado rolls were the winners, burger was pretty good, the southwest bowl wasn't as good but ok. It's a nice spot. read more

Had an absolutely horrible experience today at the hands of Lena and the hostess. These two seemed to be new to the service industry and also quite young. They demanded that our party of 6 be split up into two tables of 3, seated right next to each other, but that could not be pushed together. When we asked if we could all share one table they both decided to cite company policy that they could not have more than 4 people at a table despite the fact that there was another table of 7 sitting right next to us on the patio. Additionally, half of our party got service right away, but we had to ask somebody to go get our server (Lena) because we were kept waiting twice as long as the other half of our party. Lena was a petulant and power hungry teenager with an attitude problem that then ignored us so long that we had to get another waiter so was lovely.
