I went to lunch with close friends and was told by the parking attendant that parking was "free" and that they "work for tips." However, as I was walking into the restaurant, I was immediately approached by an attendant named Eric who asked, word for word, "Would you like to take care of that tip now?" I was surprised and uncomfortable by being solicited for a tip before I had even entered the restaurant. I am usually a generous tipper, but the interaction felt pushy and inappropriate. Unfortunately, when we left, Eric was waiting in the parking lot and approached us again. He ran up to my car and repeated, "Would you like to take care of that tip?" The second interaction felt even more uncomfortable than the first. I was born and raised in Manatee County and am very familiar with the parking situations on the island and the etiquette surrounding tipping. In my opinion, if tips are expected to this extent, it would be better to charge a parking fee rather than repeatedly soliciting guests for gratuities. This experience left a negative impression and affected an otherwise enjoyable outing. I hope management addresses how parking attendants interact with customers, because experiences like this can reflect poorly on the business and discourage repeat visits. read more

Absolute worst service in my life. Sat at a table for almost an hour with nobody acknowledging us. The host claim she didn't know we were there because she didn't see us. The servers made comments and laughed at us from across the room. It is clear this establishment does not care about hospitality, people service, or money. The atmosphere, live music, staff, and location of Island Time is awesome. Beyond that, the food was less than desirable, even for a beach town. I can't 100% say there is better food in different locations around town, but if you're looking for a fun vibe, this could be the spot. Personally, I would skip the fish tacos, they were tasteless and super boring. The fried grouper was pretty tasty, but there is better in other places around town. The shrimp caesar is also pretty good, nothing amazingly amazing, but still better than the tacos. Honestly, if I'm back in town, I'm probably skipping this spot. read more

My family went here on Christmas Eve and absolutely loved it. It was a little later at night, but we were able to be seated in a timely manner and place our order quickly. There was even live music with a musician using a 12 stringer which was really cool. I love that we were able to place our drink and food order in a reasonable amount of time and everything tasted fantastic. My sister-in-law and her husband went back multiple times throughout our stay here and really enjoyed the bar. If you are in the area, I do recommend that you check this place out. One of our favorite bars to visit when we are in the area. There is live music every night. The staff is friendly, as well as the clientele. My favorite drink to get is the orange crush (there's a grapefruit crush, as well). Freshly squeezed juice, with the respective vodka flavor and a topper of soda water. So glad to see them back up and open especially after last year's hurricanes. Pop in and support them!! read more

Atmosphere and live music were great. Service was helpful and quick at first but then went missing... Food is typical bar food. We were notified that they didn't have shrimp, so that took out part of the menu. Prices were what you would expect for touristy town. Beers were warm, but it was extremely hot out. This was my first time coming to this bar. The atmosphere and music was on point. I am from the carribean and I have to say their ghost pepper wings was the hottest I have ever eaten. So if like like hot this is the place to get wings. Our waitress was amazing as well! read more

Live music, outdoor seating, large bar. Food is decent for a bar. Server got busy and at one point we didn't see her for a while, although she had come by to check on us twice before that. Music got a bit loud and so we left. The place is a well known spot for tourists and the prices reflect that. read more

CHEESEBURGER TACOS. 5 stars. They are delicious!! And my absolute favorite. Other items we have tried: Fish and Chips Lobster Roll Bang Bang Shrimp Grouper Sandwich The Cuban All of these are great!!! They have an extremely large selection of alcohol and always have specials. I love their frozen drinks. They have live music almost every night, so keep this in mind if you want something romantic, or have small children. It is very loud. BUT SUPER FUN! read more

You know you're coming to spend money, but the vibe is fun making it worth it. The server was quite clueless and forgot basic stuff. He rarely came to check on us. Food was average the nachos needed longer in the oven or broiler the cheese was still clumpy and cold the grouper tacos were cooked well but lacked flavor and my wife and daughter said the poke was just ok. Service was good and the location across the street from the beach is fantastic but it's pricey for the quality of the food you get. read more

Great atmosphere, terrible service. The hostess sat us down immediately, more than 20 minutes passed by and we had no one come take even our drink orders. Multiple servers passed by, the hostess passed us a few times and deliberately ignored us. I went up to ask if we had a server and the hostess responded "uh where are you sitting, I can send someone" as of she didn't sit us at that table? Waited another 5-10 minutes and left. The experience doesn't match the price. Service was mediocre and inattentive. The $15 coconut shrimp appetizer came with only five small shrimp--not worth it. A basic burger also costs $15, with extra charges for cheese. Portion sizes are small for what you pay. Overall, it feels like a tourist trap banking on location rather than quality or value. Had a decently big group but no orders were right. My friend got rice and beans as a side after he asked for fries and his shrimp taco was completely wrong. I personally had a completely drenched bun once we got our food after 45 minutes. The servers were not kind or apologetic. Even at the end we got charged for 4 meals when only ordering one. Great atmosphere.. the Buffalo Egg-rolls and the pretzel sticks were AMAZING. The employees were great from the host to the waiter. Being a sport bar/grill they showed every sport on the tvs. We're die hard soccer fans We were able to watch the champion league (Manchester unit vs Intel) game!!! 2nd Floor is a more fancy restaurant opens at 5pm with amazing views of the beach. Service took a while, food was terrible. we have 3 kids - we got the Caribbean bowl, fish and chips, coconut shrimp, and chicken tenders. My daughter liked the Mac and cheese, but mostly the food was bland and not seasoned well. This was my first time in this restaurant, we came in with our soccer team, 9-boys, with parents & Grand parents, l know we caught the Manager off guard, he was understaffed, and had his young hostess deputized for waitress duty. We ordered our lunch first, and received our lunch on point, (1) order of coconut shrimp, and (2) order of fries, that we gave to the boys, they demolished, and a side cole slaw. Great location. They offer a variety of food. We ordered a grouper sandwich and the island burger. The grouper sandwich was exactly what I was hoping for. I got it blackened which was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The bun was soft and fresh. The pickle was crisp, the tomato ripe, and the onions thinly sliced. It came with a side of slaw which was just ok and a side of tartar sauce which complimented the sandwich. I had a bite of my husband's burger which was cooked medium to his liking. It tasted delicious with bleu cheese crumbles and onion rings. The fries were also really good. Nice and crispy and seasoned well. Eating here was a nice ending to our short and sweet beach trip from Orlando to Longboat Key and Siesta Key. read more

They took forever to even take our order n then they was like talkin how they ain't have any chicken french fries. then proceeds to bring out sum loaded fries. then there were paper in the burger and that was the last straw. would not recommend for people under 17. read more
