Jason was awesome with our two kids, both with very different levels of enthusiasm and nervousness when it came to biking. In both cases I had taken them out several times and tried to teach them to ride without success. Jason not only has a great rapport with the kids, but he has a great approach where he does a step by step buildup of skills (e.g. starting without pedals), instead of just running along with them and hoping that it 'clicks.' Both kids made tremendous progress in their individual 90 minute lessons with Jason. One took to it more naturally, and was confidently pedal biking after the first 45 minutes of Jason's instruction. The other was not pedal biking at the end of the session, but was much more comfortable coasting on the pedal-less bike while holding his feet in the air, and his nervousness was gone, which I hadn't been able to achieve with him on my own. Jason coached me through the next steps and I feel like I have a solid game plan for the next time my son and I go out to practice biking, and most importantly my son is excited about it, which he never was before. Jason is very sensitive around COVID issues, always sanitizing any of the kids equipment (e.g. handlebars) before and after he had to touch it to demonstrate something or make an adjustment. Scheduling is easy and online, and he was great about last minute scheduling changes. Highly recommended.

Jason was nothing short of amazing! We had been trying to teach my 5 year old to ride a bike for months without success. My son was getting frustrated and discouraged, which is not what we wanted him to associate with riding a bike. Jason has a method that made him feel comfortable balancing, scooting and eventually working up to pedaling. I wouldn't have believed it if someone told me, but no exaggeration he taught my son to ride a bike in less than 2 hours! I couldn't recommend him any higher. Thank you Jason!

Jason taught my 6 & 9 year old daughters how to ride bicycle in about 30 minutes. I've been trying for years.

The old school alternative to the 90'a hip hop with a little splash of country hits different for me and I will speak for myself. There are 3 different classes that have no real distinction other than the strength class does 3 arm workouts. You'll get bored real quick. My grievance with this studio is their lack of communication unless it's time to collect their fees. I sent a request to freeze my membership and then I decided I wanted to cancel my membership altogether. Their policy to cancel requires 30 day notice. I sent my request to cancel on 7/29, 31 days before I would next be billed. I did not get any response. I sent a text message 7/31 asking someone to respond to my cancellation and the person who responded told me that the cancellation begins when the email is sent, not when I get a response. So I thought, okay well I'll just wait. I sent a follow up email on 8/23 and asked to confirm the cancellation and not to charge me on 8/29, no response. Come 8/29, collection day, lo and behold someone responds telling me that I've defaulted on my membership. Their justification is that they are a small business and don't "allow" members to go from a freeze to a cancellation. Said I still need to pay. Their policy does not specifically say that. I agree to pay and finish off my membership but requested they give me in writing they will cancel my membership effective 9/29 and I will not be charged. I still haven't heard back from them. Someone named Josh replied with a blank message. So if you're reading this Amrita, I'm still waiting for that confirmation. Now another, "not in the policy" benefit I was privied to was that I can text after the 12 hour window that I need to cancel my class without penalty. So today, traffic was especially terrible and I was going to be late for my 5:30pm class, so what do I do? I text at 4:30 that I need cancel. I've done this at least 3 times in the past without issue. Surprise surprise, their response received at 5:42pm: "Hi Joleen! Today we started our enforcement of our late cancel policy as you notified us within the 12 hour window. There will be a $15 late cancellation fee. In the future, in order to avoid this late cancel fee, you would have to let us know more than 12 hours in advance. We look forward to seeing you in class soon." Just today they are starting to enforce it. I sent a request asking for them to consider waiving the fee as it's just being enforced today. I think they blocked my number. Message failed to send. The instructors aren't terrible but whoever AMRITA is in the company, don't trust her. I've learned my lesson with this company and I won't be dumb enough to give them any more of my money. Good luck.

I think I was very bummed with this location for a couple of reasons: 1. You have no idea where you are in terms of half way through the class or anywhere near that. At the Alamo location, they have a projector up on a wall telling you the flow of the class maneuver by maneuver. 2. PARKING SUCKS!!!!!! You literally have to pay for parking here and although that may be normal for Oakland natives, it's not coming from more inland East Bay. I actually didn't come with a card or cash so I had no way to pay which led me to going into a liquor store and getting some coins. The machine then ate my coins! Luckily, I asked someone if I could Venmo them the $1.50 but she was so kind and ended up just paying for me. Although she was a lifesaver, I do feel like that should be posted somewhere in the app to let people know. 3. The front desk person was not at all helpful and I felt like I was bothering her when I asked her what I could do about the parking situation. All and all I don't see myself coming back to this location due to the parking situation and the lack of welcoming presence from the front desk.
