    Mess that MyClean cleaner left behind

    The cleaner did not follow the instructions and left the trash piled high in our trash room. It spilled everywhere and caused damage. MyClean is sketchy and shady in many ways. For example: - they cancel the appointment the afternoon before your cleaning appointment (like 2:10pm) and give you only until 3pm to respond. otherwise, they will send you an unvetted cleaner, or you are charged cancellation fee. (that's a crazy small window to respond and good luck if you have a real job) - many of their cleaners don't speak English - they treat their cleaners really badly (pay minimum wage while charging expensive fees to customers) - customer service talks like a bot, and is not interested in making things work I was their customer for 4+ years, and after recent experiences, we cancelled subscription.

    We made an appointment with MyClean for a 3 hour apartment cleaning. What we were left with when we got back home was inappropriate and unacceptable. Absolutely nothing was done or cleaned whatsoever - in fact, our place actually looked worse. She didn't even attempt to wipe a single thing down or vacuum. Instead, she left our place dirtier than before we left and left behind tons of long black hair all over our apartment (yes, even all over our kitchen countertop). We haven't found a single thing in our 600 sq ft that even looked like it was touched or cleaned in any way except for the 20+ long black hairs. So disappointed and disgusted. Would NOT recommend this business at all.

    I got a move in deep clean for an old 2 bedroom and MyClean only half delivered. This apartment was nastyyy - spiders everywhere, grease everywhere in the kitchen, dust, and stains all over the apartment. They booked a 6 hour session but with only one cleaner. I was immediately doubtful that she'd be able to tackle it all by herself. She arrived early so I was hopeful that this would be a great experience. But immediately I had to go out and buy cleaning supplies for her because she forgot somethings. She ended up doing a great job on the bathroom floor and really got all the dirt and stains out of the grout. But that was probably the most impactful thing she did because she had to spend most of her time there. She kept asking what else she needed to clean even after the initial walk through which seemed odd. I expected a professional to have a mental checklist just from experience. And apparently they don't dust the tops of door/window frames. So much for "deep" cleaning. That's literally where all the spiders are living. In the end the results were subpar, as I went around doing some extra cleaning I found hidden stains and details that the cleaner missed. One was the top and bottom of the microwave. I added some pictures of the bottom since I already wiped down the top of the microwave door. There were also still small stains in the bathroom and the inside of the cabinets were not cleaned at all. For a deep clean that's shocking. Having a clean place to put your dishes seem like a standard necessity. The cleaner also didn't manage to get the sticky grease off the cabinet doors and handles. She must not have had the right supplies to cut through the grease. Also disappointing. It felt like most of the things I really needed done weren't done well. I was sympathetic to her, she worked really hard so I gave her a pretty good tip. But I completely fault MyClean for sending only 1 cleaner. I'm writing this review because I'm so frustrated that I just spent over $400 and still killing myself cleaning right now. Oh and also I was told beforehand that the cleaner would be using a UV light to kill any bacteria/viruses in the apartment. She wasn't even given the equipment to do so by the company. So pretty much if you're moving into a typical old/nasty NYC apartment. These guys are not going to get the place back to livable for you. But I really don't fault the cleaner. She's only human and she can only do so much in 6 hours by herself.

    Beware of this service. Do not use. They do not take responsibility for damage done & you end up incurring costs to repair yourself. They claim to use eco cleaning supplies, but that is a lie. It is an agency and while most agencies have insurance to cover damage to clients. We reached out following our move our clean immediately (within the next day) that the cleaning person had not only used a substance that stripped the chrome finish on the range unit but they had tried to use something that scratched the surface even more. I offered suggestions how to remediate the issue such as purchasing the new panel...but stress the importance of remediating the damage created during the cleaning. They gave me the run around for the past week asking me to fill out a form then another form when today they replied: Thank you for your patience while we looked into this. We spoke with the cleaner regarding this claim and we do not believe the cleaner would have caused this. Our cleaners are equipped with a standard cleaning kit that includes: a duster, dust pan, flat mop Swiffer, microfiber towels, magic erasers, sponges, all-purpose cleaner, bathroom cleaner, disinfectant, and glass cleaner. All of our cleaning products are non-abrasive. The cleaner said she used dish soap and her sponge to clean the stove. Why would you hire a company that offers a service and doesn't take responsibility for the damage they have caused?

I spent weeks trying to schedule a cleaning with this company. Everything proceeded normally until I disclosed a fragrance-related accommodation need and offered to provide all cleaning products myself. After that, the job was repeatedly described as a "special need cleaning," concerns were raised about whether the cleaners would accept it, and I was told I might be better served by another company. I was asked to confirm the appointment by providing my address and cleaning information, which I did. Later, after the cleaner agreed to take the job, the appointment was given away because I did not respond quickly enough to an additional confirmation request that I had never been told to expect. When I objected to the way the situation had been handled, I was told that the company would not be cleaning my apartment. What concerns me is that the entire interaction changed after I disclosed a disability-related accommodation need. Before that disclosure, I was treated like any other customer. After that disclosure, additional barriers appeared, the job became a problem, and the service was ultimately denied. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone who may need accommodations, nor to anyone who believes that people with physical differences should be treated with the same respect and access to services as everyone else.

    I hate coming home to a mess. It stresses me out…read more But between managing a busy work schedule and trying to fit in quality time with my kid, my free-time is limited, and spending weekends doing chores like cleaning is not something I particularly want to do! So I didn't ... and surely enough, despite my efforts to try and tidy up here and there, the mess built up. At first, I didn't really notice it, but then little by little, the place became unmanageable. It got to a point where I hated going home because I felt like I was walking into pigsty and it depressed me. After trying to ignore the issue, I reached a point where I decided I needed to do something because ignoring the problem was not going to fix it; and if I wanted to change the way I felt about my messy home, I needed to either spend the time cleaning or spend some money hiring a professional to help me. I'd never hired a professional cleaning service before and practically speaking, I initially had three concerns: (1) where do I find one? (2) can I even afford it? and; (3) can I find a trustworthy company where I feel safe entrusting them with my keys to come in and clean my place while I'm not home. As for my first question, I literally didn't know where to start. Eventually, I managed to find my way to Yelp and looked up services that are near me. I'm in Edgewater and based on my location, it recommended 4 places, so I requested a quote from all 4. Express Cleaning Team was the last to respond to my query but I'm really glad they did because it solved my second concern: cost. I originally had an idea of how much I wanted to spend but after receiving quotes from the first 3 services, I was left feeling disappointed because it was WAY beyond what I wanted to budget for a weekly appointment. It turned out that ECT's rates are so reasonable and affordable, my only regret is not having looked into this much sooner. All I had to do was to fill out their booking form on their website. Once I completed their dozen or so questions, I was quoted less than $100 a week to clean my two bedroom/one bathroom apartment. Now that I knew there was a service near my home that fit my budget, the only thing I had left to determine was whether I could trust them enough to give them a copy of my keys to clean the apartment when I'm at work. I wanted to make sure, so once I got an email confirmation from Jimmy, I asked him if it were possible to meet someone from the company on a weekend when I was home. Despite being outside of their business hours, his wife Fary graciously agreed to come by on Saturday to meet me and personally clean my apartment. I mean, how amazing and awesome is that?! It was her day off, but she still nonetheless took the time to come to my home just to meet me, give me the peace of mind, and did a truly AMAZING job. I didn't stay the entire time she was there but when I came home later that night, I was left speechless. I was so stunned and grateful for the care and attention that was clearly spent because everything was perfect. Honestly, it was like every little thing was carefully put in its place and every surface was expertly cleaned. You could easily tell how much care and attention was spent making sure I came home happy. If you're reading this review, you may be interested in hiring a cleaning service but have similar concerns about actually hiring one like I did. If so, I hope this helps in your calculus for reaching a decision. I was very pleased in my decision to hire ECT and I'm certain that going forward, I will actually want to come home instead on being depressed whenever I walk through my door.
