My Renova Solar System stopped generating power in the middle of May, 2023. After several phone calls to Renova & Sunpower to make repairs, 2 technicians from Renova responded today, 7/20/23 to make repairs. Conner and Daniel called with an eta, promptly arrived on time and spent the better part of the day fixing the issue. They had to retrieve a part from Palm Desert, Conner returned, finished repairs and did not leave till the system was up and running. Kudos to these 2 fine young men with great work ethics. Had a good experience in the sales and install but service issues have been constant right now. We had solar installed in Rancho Mirage a few months back and consistently are getting enormous energy bills and have to call both Renova and the energy co. They keep messing it up and billing us and giving a run around with service calls required to both companies. We haven't even been using the house for 2 months - they tried to say maybe we were using so much energy but that doesn't hold up either. We went with them due to good reviews but so far it's been awful with lots of time wasted and no resolution for months. Beware as they should easily be able to facilitate how to resolve this. read more

It was crew #9, consisting of Landon, Ernie, and the long-suffering Michael - I say that because it fell to him to wait, baking in his car, for the Cathedral City Building Inspector to come pass on the installation. I was so excited to buy my new house in the Cathedral City cove! After completing the never ending stack of Escrow documents I was finally into my new place. Renova has caused many problems to our home since we've had our solar panels installed. The panels have gone off-line twice for about a six month period which has now cost us about $7000 in electricity bills. There was no notification that the panels were off-line. It was very difficult to get Renova to come out and even fix the problem and they have done nothing to try and cover the cost when this was something that was their fault. We have also had roof damage from where the panels were installed to independent roofers told us it was caused by Renova but again Renova except no responsibility I would use another company. read more

As a repeat customer of Renova- 2 separate installations- the customer service has significantly changed- Future Buyers beware!!!!!! I filled out service request 11/25/24 due to a battery issue--and 9 days later no response from Renova despite being told that they had my request and would call me the day I submitted it on 11/25/24. Apparently my account had been blackballed by Renova- and I find out from CEO Vincent Battaglia- after I emailed him about no calls back by his Renova Service- His response to my query--"You sound like a difficult person so you should likely pursue whatever it is that will make you happy. Perhaps you will learn to be understanding and tolerant in the future" Vincent Battaglia Chief Executive Officer Renova energy. The Service dept then did call me and advised me that they had put my Renova acct in suspension -that they could not offer services to me despite spending 60k with them a year ago because I had been "rude" to their employees and threatened a BBB complaint due to errors in billing and lien releases, correct address of installation- all by their accounting arm. News to me! I had seen Vincent Battaglia , CEO on TV being so caring & concerning about their Renova customers affected by SunPower bankruptcy and their obvious investment in Renova and layoff of their employees- so my response to Mr CEO was "Wow your public Persona is a real Act- Renova's true colors exposed! . . . . I advised no response was required as I would use another company- Since they wanted $500 for a service call--Mr Vincent Battaglia responds back- " You're a dick, "MD" ( FYI-I am a retired physician- with a valid AZ medical license). So Please do yourself a favor and bypass Renova Energy-with customer care service seemingly not a Priority and CEO that cannot professionally answer a customer concern- called me a dick! read more

There are few things in life that are truly a win-win situation... choosing solar with Renova is one of those rare cases where you can save money, save the environment and work with a first-class company that knows what service is. From the first moment, I was walked through the process by my energy consultant/sales contact David. He came to my home, answered all my questions and helped me land on buying my system via a loan. The team then surveyed my home and shared with me plans on how many panels, etc. Renova handled absolutely everything - from permits with the city to talking with the absolutely horrible SoCal Edison (that alone is worth a million bucks). Installation was a major task, however, the team minimized impact to my home and within a few days were done. Everything left clean and communication very clear. I am now enjoying a low payment for my system, which is replacing electricity bills that were over $700. It also feels amazing to be producing energy and selling it back to the grid and preventing burning of fossil fuels. They offered me the moon and wouldn't take no for an answer. I went ahead (under my sound judgement) and signed a long lease with Renova. The workers never completed the job fixing the panels to my roof, left my electrical box incomplete, my electricity bills are higher now than when they started. Now Iam getting billed from them. If you are purchasing a property to use a rental be aware that the IRS doesn't allow a tax credit for this. Per RENOVA they dont give tax advice, but as I said to them this is more general knowledge. Both the sales and rep and his manager are touting the company line here. Do your research and look at other companies before you sign the sales contract. read more

Our first appointment to install our solar panels was today and they installed the legs for the panels. Ishmael & Pedro were very hard workers, as well as, very friendly too. The work was done very professionally and Ishmael & Pedro made me feel very satisfied that we are doing the right thing by getting solar now that they both reassured me that the roof will be fine after the solar panels are installed. I had a little hesitation last night before they came regarding the roof being foam. However, they told me how they install the legs for the panels and they also had no problems attaching the legs to the rafters. This did put my mind at ease when they showed me how it works and my roof is very strong. read more

I have had a very bad customer experience with Renova thus far. My experience with them began in August of last year and I am still struggling with them to get it finished. I was first promised that the solar installation would be done by Thanksgiving but, with delays, they then told me definitely before the end of 2023. Well that never happened and so that will cost me because I had planned on having the 30% tax credit in 2023 to use on the taxable profits on investments that I sold to raise the cash for this project. If I had only known that it wasn't going to finish until 2024 it would have been fine with me. I could have planned accordingly. I have repeatedly been unable to get anyone on the phone and am now being told that the most recent representative who was supposed to be handling my project, who promised to call me back 2 days ago, is no longer with the company. And I was told that an EV charger would be included in the project but now it appears that is not true. I thought people should be aware of my experience if they are thinking about going with Renova. If this project ever gets completed I will update this review. Forgot to mention that every time they sent me an invoice I paid it promptly. Approximately $30,000 so far. I wish customer service was as prompt. read more

We have loved Renova and ALL of the various staff/personnel we have talked with or who have come to the house. From the start, it was clear that Renova has a customer-first business model. We just had our Tesla power walls installed last week, to supplement the solar panels we installed last spring. We are thrilled with our experience with Renova.
