I had a great experience with most of the staff I work with i was in quick and easy and the lady who took me back was super nice! however when it was time to pick out my frames there was an older man who sat on the far right at a desk who was so rude! When his coworkers asked if he could take us he paused for a while before reluctantly nodding. He barely acknowledged my husband and I didn't greet us We sat down and he typed on his computer ignoring us for a good while. Before telling us to look for frames. I asked if there were any glasses at the price point covered by my insurance he said "you have $150" There was no prices on any of the glasses. I asked if there were any separated by price point he said "no" abruptly. My husband and i decided to leave, it was discouraging to hear how nice the other consultants were with their clients and then to have someone how seems so disinterested with us. I bought glasses here a few months ago. They became loose so I stopped in today to have them tightened. I walk in and have a seat. No one acknowledged me. I finally ask an employee if someone is available to tighten my glasses. She tells me to have a seat and someone will be right with me. I waited ten minutes. Someone walked in and was greeted. She said why she was there and they told her that Ms. Bree the same person that told me to have a seat) would help her and she did. I walked out. Never again read more

I purchased glasses at MyEyeDr a few years ago. I came back today for an exam and to get new lenses. The eye doctor prescribed new lenses and I told the lady I would like to keep my current frames. She told me the total cost for exam and new lenses would be $944... but with my insurance I only had to pay $362. I questioned why the price is much lower if I don't have insurance. There is a sign on the desk with a cost of $315 for my same lenses with frames. The lady was very nice, but could not clearly explain to me why they were charging my insurance $944, when it would only be $315 for no insurance. I only need an explanation of the cost difference. I am assuming they make commission on my total bill so I felt they were not willing to help me reduce my cost even though I was using my frames. It all felt very dishonest. read more

Here is my experience with the employees at this particular store; The person at the front desk (allegedly her name is Vee) told me that since I couldn't show her a confirmation of my son's appointment that they placed someone else in the slot. The amount of effort it took for me to make the appointment, take the day off, and get my 11yo there wasn't even the worst of it. It was that she was so blaise about it and didn't even check to make sure I had confirmed it or not, and she didn't even get my name. I was so humiliated that I just left. When I got home and calmed down I looked through my phone and saw that I DID have a confirmation, so this Vee lady had no clue what she was talking about. According to her she tried to call me, but I had no voicemails, no text messages, and when I called the manager they just told me fill out a complaint online. The woman I spoke to afterwards made it sound like she shouldn't have turned me away (maybe she thought it I had the appointment as opposed to my son) and said that it should not have happened. So why is it okay to just screw with someone's plans, nonchalantly shrug it off, and just expect me to still want to give you my business? This front desk lady should be ashamed of herself, and I hope that your company does something to avoid treating people this way. Maybe providing some form of sensitivity training, or, better yet, a swift firing will be the solution. Needless to say I promptly left and am never coming back there, taking my business elsewhere. I have been going to My Eye Doctor for years, they started as Pearl Vision as part of Sears, followed the doctors to Hunt Valley. Glasses and contacts for 50 years. My last experience was horrible. I tried computer glasses, was upsold a ton of extras. $600 later with insurance, I was handed my glasses, there was no fitting or follow up to check the prescription, just handed them to me and have a nice day. These glasses do not work for me at all. They cause headaches. I called to explain my concern and was told to sit farther away from the computer. That was it. My son just received his glasses and was told his vision was corrected to 20/20 and he can't see with them. They cause headaches and everything is blurry. I tried to talk to the store about my son and they would not talk to me because he is over 21. Even though he is on my insurance and I paid for them. So we spent $1000 for glasses we can't wear. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

They never answer the phone during business hours and never return calls. Waited over an hour for my scheduled appointment initially. Never got a call that my glasses had come in. I called weeks later and they told me yes they were in and made me feel like I made a mistake by not picking them up already when they told me they'd call me when they were ready. Picked up glasses and when I got home I realized the prescription was way off. Lenses made my vision much worse and gave me headaches. I scheduled another appointment to have it fixed. Received a call days before my appointment saying I can't be seen because my insurance only covers one exam per year. I called back and left a voicemail explaining I just need the glasses fixed And asked if I could still be seen. Never got a call back. Got a call the night before my appointment saying it needs to be rescheduled because the doctor had a family emergency (which I understand) A few weeks later, my son broke his glasses and I called and left a voicemail asking if they have his prescription on file and if they'd be able to order the same frames. Staff and Dr are both great! Not too rushed or anything during any of my appointments that I've had thus far, and every time I call they answer the phone at a unbelievably quick pace! The visit was a total confusion from start to end. They charged me for a medical exam when it was my annual vision exam. They told me the contact lens exam was covered by my insurance and then told me I owed them $150. The eye dr seemed a bit flustered for some reason. He said I had a lot going on. Have had to make numerous phone calls to get billing straightened out. Hopefully the new mgr will get things in order going forward. Would not recommend at this point. read more

I set up an appointment here two weeks ago, and when I show up for it, they say they canceled it because I didn't "confirm" it. The only thing I got was texts asking if I wanted to confirm it and, when I tried to reply, stated I would be charged. I didnt think my entire appointment would be contingent on me replying "Y" to an automated service, unfortunately I was wrong because they went ahead and canceled it. Didnt notify me it was canceled either, just told me when I showed up. I mean what kind of place just cancels your appointment because you didn't text their bot back to confirm the appointment that YOU made. 1 star for sure read more

I came to this location just to order contacts and I still got great customer service although I didn't have my initial eye exam here. They were very professional, helpful, and patient. I really appreciated the time they took out to make sure I was getting the best deal for my contacts and that I paid a reasonable price. They were able to use my insurance coverage AND gave me price match! read more

I had an appointment at the Hunt Valley location to have an eye exam for a prescription for contacts. I was given the eye test and then given a pair of contacts to try on. After being asked how they felt, I responded that I could see fine out of my right eye but my left eye was completely blurry. The doctor responded that she thought something may be wrong with my left eye. She stated that my cornea may be scratched or swollen but was not sure. I was told to wear my glasses for a few days and to come back. When I went to check out I was told that my visit was now a "medical" visit instead of a typical eye exam. I was asked for my medical insurance card not my eye care insurance. I was told that myeyedr does not accept Kaiser insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket for my visit. I had only gone in to get a prescription which I was never given and then charged out of pocket for a "medical" issue that was not diagnosed or confirmed. I paid out of pocket for neither a prescription or diagnosis. Only told to go to a kaiser doctor and come back for a prescription. It's ridiculous that I was never made aware that my visit was now a "medical" visit or informed that a company that states on their website "we accept all insurance" does not in fact accept Kaiser. This is a terrible example of customer service at a business I have received good service at a different location. I will never return to the Hunt Valley location and likely myeyedr ever again. read more

Came to my eye to pick out some glasses. The front desk girl was great welcomed me checked me in and offered me coffee. The manager Tracey helped me pick out the most beautiful pair of Tiffany frames. I was so excited to pick them up in teo weeks. She also helped to fit them on me. Stay away from this place. Doctors are rude. Threaten my son poorly (first time with eyeglasses). We're only concerned with selling us a $400 frame...... Sad. This place is great! I was stuck at work and needed to change my appointment after I had already missed it. They were able to fit me in within the hour. I've been seeing Dr. Bernitt for many years and wouldn't go any where else. My insurance is great so I was able to get a pair of glasses, sunglasses and a year supply of contacts (shipped right to my door!), for a very reasonable price. Everything was explained clearly to me throughout the whole process and was in and out within a half hour. read more

If I could give them less than one star, I would!! The doctor stood me up for my appointment, which had been made over a week in advance! The doctor was a no call, no show. If it had been an emergency, I would've understood, but standing me up was just plain unacceptable!!! It completely wasted my time and put the staff in the awkward position of telling me I had been stood up! In other news, the receptionist was very kind and professional and clearly was the one person there able to roll in on time. The service and selection is good, but the fact that I have waited two weeks (and counting!) for them to make my glasses is absolutely absurd. I have never had to wait this long for a pair of glasses. Luckily my current pair is totally fine - but what if I NEEDED this new pair? I purchased glasses and sunglasses from My Eye Dr. in Hunt Valley approximately 6 weeks ago. The sunglasses are fine, but the glasses have foggy lenses. After trying to clean them with the solution they provide, lens cleaners, and even soap and water, I can not get the lens clean without smudges. I have stopped in the store twice and was told each time that a manager would be in touch. That has not happened. Obviously they are faulty lenses and they don't want to deal with me. I have been wearing glasses for years and have never had this problem! I will never purchase anything from here again! read more

Stay away from MyEyeDr at the Hunt Valley location. The female 'doctor' who works there is extremely rude. Even though I had an appointment scheduled, I ended up waiting for very long time in a waiting area and nobody cared to explain the delay. When she finally started paying some attention, she seemed very irritated and bothered by my questions. At the end of my appointment I was afraid to ask any questions and I just wanted this horrible visit to be over. I ended up with contact lenses that didn't feel comfortable, but I preferred not to go back. Instead I went to the professional eye clinic in the major hospital and highly recommend it. Please, don't fall for a convenient location in the mall area, your eyes are just not worth the risk. Take some time off from work and go to the East Baltimore medical campus where the real doctors work. read more
