I cannot let this pass! I am so extremely disappointed with this eye care practice. Total incompetence. Let me begin with: I have had myopia since I was 12 years old. With Dr. Martinek, I walked into the office having myopia in both eyes, but walked out with a "perfectly healthy" left eye (20/20 vision). But 5 months after that visit, when I could not see at all, I walked in with her "20/20 vision" in my left eye and left with myopia again. Go figure! Meanwhile, she had me on "dry eye" treatment however charging both my eye and medical insurance for unprofessional and incompetent care. I still had to have a THIRD eye exam this year because I could not see after Dr Martinek's second exam. I know mistakes/typos/calibration errors can happen, and I appreciate honesty. The people in this practice, starting with Dr. Martinek, are unable to take responsibility for mistakes but quickly blame the patient. Josef, the optician/administrator, is condescending and disrespectful. It is truly embarrassing. I prefer driving 90 minutes to see my eye doctor in Wake Forest and have positive, respectful, quality care.

I came here multiple times with friends and family in 2008 and 2009. With my friends, we'd go to stores like REI, Great Outdoor Provision Co, and Barnes & Noble. It was around these years that I picked up a MacBook for my mom from the Apple Store. She returned several times for One to One trainings on how to use various Apple devices. Since 2018, I've been going to Friendly Center for Schiffman's Jewelers, for the most part. That's because I got my wife's engagement ring and wedding band from Schiffman's and have returned for inspections and cleanings. We returned just a few weeks ago to see Frances, who just celebrated 45 years at Schiffman's. Last month, I accompanied my wife and sister to Sephora and Anthropologie. Other brands that were or still are of interest to me at Friendly Center include Brooks Brothers and lululemon. There are also a Whole Foods Market and Williams-Sonoma. Friendly Center was sort of patchworked together over the years, so the design and routing aren't ideal and getting around can be confusing. It would be nice if there were maps of the property on-site, but we didn't see any during our recent visit. Also, at the time of writing this review, the map on their website is down. When I expressed concern that my vision was worse upon putting on the new glasses, I was advised that if the situation didn't improve after 2 weeks of constant wear, I should return to my ophthalmologist to get a new prescription. My 'corrected' vision did not improve, my ophthalmologist confirmed the original Rx and I'm stuck with $1300 glasses because that's the price I'll pay to avoid dealing with this business again.

The ladies at the front desk had me checked in within record time. Because I had already completed my paperwork, things went smoothly. I was then ushered to a large, lovely seating area, where many other patients were waiting. The office is massive, containing several doctors, as well as a vision center to pick out eyewear and procedure rooms. My technician and doctor were absolutely wonderful. Initially, the tech took a thorough history and did some tests. She was very pleasant, moved with intention, but not rushed. She was communicative, but not chatty (IYKYK), and had me very impressed. I was well-handled and wondered what was left for anyone else to do. Lol When the doctor arrived, he was even more thorough than the technician. He double-checked her work, then began a discussion with me about my eyes and their health. He did some more evaluation and put me at ease. I remember thinking, "This place is amazing!" At the end, he gave me advice and then said, "That's it," with the most amazingly warm smile I had seen in a while. It was genuine and read like he really enjoyed his job. I mean, WOW. That did it for me, folks. I had already been impressed by the place, but the smile sold me on GO. I am a patient for life! Greensboro Ophthalmology is officially Kiesha Speech approved. I tried 2 different pairs when I first got started and they didn't work. I kinda gave up but also had other concerns( back surgery) that were more pressing.
