If you want to leave feeling confident in your eye exam screening, don't go here. It's a virtual appointment and no eye doctor is onsite. When making your appointment, there is one SMALL check off box and in the fine print it says this is a virtual appointment, no doctor is onsite and we are going to charge you $40+ dollars to screen your eyes with a machine that your insurance will not cover. When you arrive the first thing they say is there is no doctor on site, this is a virtual appointment, and we are going to use a machine to screen your eyes and you will have to pay 40+ dollars that your insurance will not cover. Every person that walked in was not aware of this because it is in the fine print that you check off with numerous other statements. Like most working professionals, we do not want to reschedule at another site where there is a doctor present. We've already taken off a day from work to be here. I was repeatedly asked, "what line can you read?" When only one line was present. There was clearly some IT issue because it was only showing me one line on the screen. This was followed with some laughter and then the correction to show multiple lines. This happened multiple times throughout the screening and I was told, "this always happens." I told four different employees that I had LASIK surgery mono vision many years ago and I wear glasses for distance only at night while driving. I was told it was documented in my chart. I had to repeat it four more times because no one read the chart. Additionally, at the end of my appointment, the person on the screen of my virtual appointment (presumably the Dr) says "wow, you naturally have mono vision. People pay to have this." "No, sir. For the 5th time, I had LASIK surgery mono vision." "Ohhhh", he replies. I did not leave feeling confident at all in having a thorough eye exam screening and have scheduled an additional appointment elsewhere. This was a waste of time and money. read more

Kid needed a eye test for the MVA to complete learners permit. Wanted it quick and made an appointment. We talked on phone asked about MVA form and they said they could get it done right away. Get to appointment and they said 24-48 hours. Then 48 hours passed and called and said it takes a week. What is even more frustrating is that my co-worker had the same issue and had the paperwork completed the same day as their virtual appointment at vision works. Staff was friendly and nice but the ever changing message when I needed the form quick is very frustrating. We have gone there for 10 years and now not sure we will be going back. read more

After a month wait we finally got an appointment, just to find out it is a tele-appointment. MyEyeDr saves money by not having a doctor on the premises. THEY save money and in turn CHARGE you MORE for a teleappointment! There's a $44 additional charge, not covered by insurance, for the the subpar appointment. I was told all this by the receptionist who couldn't be bothered to sit up straight. She was laying over the counter with her head in her hand... Needing an eye exam, I chose this location because my coworker had good words about it and the location is convenient for me...And I can use my companies insurance. The staff was professional and friendly my entire visit. They answered all questions that I had thru the process. I had a few questions because I hadn't had a eye exam in 10 years and not familiar with the events that take place. I thought it made the exam less stressful knowing what to expect during the exam, as each step was explained, why, and what to expect, ie bright light, air, out of focus, etc. I will return to myeyedr in the future. read more

This doctor was one that was covered underneath my new insurance plan, so I figured I would give it a shot. After reading a couple other questionable reviews I tried them anyway. I walked in and was greeted quickly by friendly staff member. My eyes were examined and a contact lens recommended. The doctor that helped me was very nice and seemed knowledgeable.she asked me to put in a pair of contacts. I did. She then asked me to sit back down so she could look and make sure they were in right. Fast forward to the bill. I had a $120 contact lens allowance and a $10 co-pay for an eye exam. I was expecting to pay my $10 and leave with a new prescription and contact lenses. The rude associate that was helping me told me that my total was $190 out of my pocket. Little did I know, the doctor asking me to sit back down in the chair cost me $60 for a "contact lens fitting fee". they slip this in without telling me or giving me an option to opt out. This was not the only upper charge they try to slip in. They automatically assumed I wanted a years supply of contacts. I only change my contacts out every couple months so six months is fine. The years supply is $120 over my insurance allowance. Simple common sense would say to ask the customer which supply they would like. As soon as my lenses arrive at the store, I will be asking for a copy of my prescription/paperwork and taking it to a different establishment next time. I highly suggest anyone considering this place reconsider. read more

This is the worst place to go. I really liked the doctor who helped me, but the customer service portion S U C K E D. I had a follow up, and literally wait for 45+ minutes. And I finally said I was done waiting when two other patients who JUST WALKED OUT of the exam rooms were helped before me. Prior to that, I heard one of the customer service ladies, who was on her way out, tell another I was waiting. The girl she told, just looked at me and went about her business and did some busy work. THEN she went ahead and helped a patient who just walked out of the exam room. Way to go. Definitely going to an "out-of-network" office from now on. RIDICULOUS. read more

I wanted to use my insurance, Davis Vision, and myeyedr was the only place in town that participates with my plan. If I had known how terrible the purchase would have been, I would have just paid the out of pocket price somewhere else! I ordered prescription sunglasses, nothing out of the ordinary. I was told it would be up to 2 weeks until they were completed. It was 7 weeks until I finally received the product. This delay would have been acceptable to me if there was any good reason, or better yet, any customer service letting me know that there was a delay and when I might expect their arrival. Rather, I had to call multiple times to check and the employees would always say, "What's the best number to contact you at?" and would never return my call. Don't waste your time here. Shop for a good deal in another office!!! read more

There is a bit of a problem with customer service here. I've noticed that unless you stand right at the counter (if it's busy), then they'll acknowledge you. Not a huge deal, especially when it's busy; I was greeted as soon as I walked in on non-busy days. My wait time was fairly quick; I wasn't done with my paperwork when they called me in the back! My only true problem is that the office is small and there's not much room to wait if they're extremely busy. I suggest making appointments on non-busy days if you can help it. It is pricey but if you want quality frames, you're going to pay for it. Make sure you have good vision insurance to cover it. Understandable if it's the only network for your insurance, though... Other than that, my experiences with them has been good. The optometrist is friendly, polite and helpful. The technician helped me pick out frames I liked; any other time, I would've been on my own. read more

I was extremely hesitant to change eye doctors but was in a fix and needed sooner than later results. I got an appointment very fast. I went to the location and was given the customary items to find out who I was and what I needed. Dr. Friedmeyer escorted me to the examination room and concluded very professional that I had an eye problem. She gave the location to correct the problem and I left feeling extremely satisfied. I found that my glasses I had were okay for my eyes. That was unexpected. She explained what I needed to do and she made me feel less anxious about that. read more

My eye dr in Lexington Park is amazing! Their doctors and staff know what customer service really is. As far as pricing goes... you get what you pay for. Their quality is great AND they offer warranties to boot! Where else can you go and feel like family? I mean if you're going to Cracker Barrel sure. But My Eye Dr is wonderful in the field of eye care! You only have 2 eyes! It definitely isn't a question as far as price vs quality. read more

I will never ever use this place again unless I'm desperate!! The doctor was ok not bad I no complaints about her. But everybody else who works there suck as far as customer service!! Nothing pisses me off more than getting the run around and that's exactly what they are doing!! My son glasses were supposed to be ready last Friday and they have no idea where they are they have his lenses but no frames! I tried to explain coordination of benefits when you have two plans for vision. They just wanted my money and said they can't do that. Both insurance companies said they could do it. The eye consultant was rude and very short. It was an easy task to complete but they just wanted to charge charge charge. I walked out and said I'm not going to let you take me for a ride when it can be done. read more

My daughter had an appointment on a Saturday at 9:45 am, arrived early to complete paperwork and wasn't finished until 11am. The exam was less than 30 minutes and the other time was wait time. The only reason she waited was because she lost her only pair of eyeglasses. She for warned me since my appointment was today at 5:30pm. I arrived at 5:05pm to complete paperwork. Three individuals who wasn't in the waiting area or building were called before me. At 5:45 I asked for my paperwork and to cancel my appointment. There are too many eye doctors out there to have to wait so long when you have an appointment. If you have an hour or more to wait then I highly recommend the Lexington Park location. 3-22-17 Dr was nice and explained everything. I told her I was having trouble because the glasses were causing scars on my nose and also affecting my breathing. She said the girls can help you by maybe upgrading the padding or something else. The girl I got was rude and didn't help me. She showed what glasses my insurance covered and then disappeared for 10 minutes. I turned to find her and the secretary that answers the phone was telling her she was rude. I told her what I told the Dr. And she said, So what do you want? How about some help! Which glasses are lighter, is there anything that would help by not scarring my face? She asked me if I had seen anything I like and by this point I just want a Rx and will pay somewhere else out of my grocery money.. the lady that was suppose to help me, but I guess she didn't think I was worth her time, not sure if they get commission or not but this lady hurts the company. I went to this location as I had seen the optometrist working here at Walmart, where she used to work. She was as professional and friendly as before. However, I could not say the same about the opticians. The lady who helped me was friendly and had good siuggestions about the frame. However, she tried to upsell me the lens and options beyond what is covered by my insurance. I asked her to explain the difference between what is covered and what she is recommending. The answers were vague - such as the covered lenses are 50 yr old technology. She also suggested an eyeglass insurance which I did not need. Now if you know what you need and knowledgeable about your insurance coverage - this place is okay. However, if you want friendly service with a business that appreciates you and helps you to get the most out of your insurance coverage without upselling you, Go to their competition. read more

Stated glasses ordered on the 4th would arrive on the 20th, when I showed up at 5:50 asking where the glasses were they could not tell me. Clueless about how to track an order. Was told they would be there the next day or day after. Said they were sorry. Did not make any effort to confirm their statements before making them, just like the order. I have zero (0) confidence in them or their supplier. What is the difference in waiting 16, 17, 18 or more days anyways. read more

This location has the best staff! They are very professional. Their selection of glasses is nice, too. The Doctor is very knowledgeable. The only thing I would improve would be the turn around time to get your new glasses it's two weeks. But, I would recommend this location. I was very pleased. read more
