**Second update, first update and original review below. As promised, I always update my reviews. Happy to put this back to 5 stars. My new glasses came in less than a week after the rush order, and the gentleman at the counter (poor guy definitely remembered me) was very helpful and felt really bad about the overall snafu. Glasses are correct now, I can see! Conflict was handled quickly and I'm glad the service level was great despite the obvious frustration! --------- Lord help me...right after my glowing post some craziness happened. I hope it's corrected soon. So I picked up my new, stronger lenses and sunglasses. Upon popping in (with some audible Trouble) my new lenses, I was handed the most painful glasses I've ever worn. They asked ME if my vision changed; can't they look that up? Yes, I say, But this is just extreme as far as changes go and I can't really see well...I was asked a few times by the guys that were there if it was just my eyes needing to adjust and was reassured it would feel awkward and even disorienting for a bit so I took these on good faith and left. I could see much better and easily in the shades, and was hesitant to wear the new regular lenses because it felt like my eyes were crossing and I was on some very strenuous psychedelic trip. After 30 minutes I knew something was very wrong. So I called and said I needed to come back. Lo and behold they take the glasses, place them on what I assume is some kind of machine to test them, they were the entirely wrong prescription I already waited 2 weeks for. THANK GOD I kept the old lenses they offered me, rather than toss them, Or I'd be up creek with no glasses except shades to use. Also, let me just say that I had at this point now worn 3 different scripts in one hour: old, correct, and incorrect. I had a horrible migraine as a result and as someone with MS, vertigo is a commonality and mine was raging as a result. "But your sunglasses are right, right?" I have no clue, they feel different but normal as far as what I expected, should you really be asking ME? I wish they'd taken the time and care to test these out when I said I felt weird instead of sending me on my way. Would've been common sense and saved me now 2 extra trips and more waiting for the correct glasses. A rush I'm told is at least a week, so we will see how fast that means. Coming up on 5 days now. Disappointed that the lackadaisical guys couldn't have made this easier or done more. read more

Dr. Paul Colbourne is the best eye doctor I have ever used . He always takes the time to teach and show me proper eye care. I have been going to him for about 15 years or so and highly recommend him! His staff are top notch as well. read more

Dr. Green and her staff were amazing. I drove over 30 min to this location because it was the only My Eye Dr in the area with a 4 star rating. I see why. The front desk and office staff were very nice and friendly. I was there with two kids and we had multiple appointments throughout the day. They were very patient and professional with my children and they worked to consolidate my appointments so we didn't have to keep coming back. I didn't even ask them to do that. It was very kind of them. Dr. Green was very patient and thorough with the exam and we did not feel rushed. As long as she is here this will be my new eye doc spot. read more

This review is restricted to my experience yesterday walking in to see if I could get my eyeglasses repaired... While in Colorado, I noted that one of the small soft silicon nose pads was missing from my glasses... Saturday morning - I drive over to Centreville, VA to see if my eye doctor is open - I did not call ahead as I had another errand in that general area that needed to be done and I knew for sure the other place was open. Turns out - my place was closed (they are only open on Saturdays twice each month). So on the way home, I was looking for any eye glass place - I seemed to remember Vanessa writing a review for My Eye Dr. - so I headed there. Walked in - was greeted immediately and asked if I needed assistance - even though the lady was working with another customer. I told her what I needed - she asked me to take a seat - a moment later, a gentleman named (either Brent or Brant) came out. I showed him the glasses and he told me no problem. I asked how much for the repair/replacement - he told me "no charge." A few minutes later he came back with my glasses - he went ahead and replaced both nose pads so that they would match. First time here! My husband and I loved our experience! Got myself some sunglasses and they turned out so good. The store manager, Joel, really was attentive and helped me decide which Raybans to choose, what lens options to choose. A very productive and fun visit! Definitely recommend. read more

My first time here I was very happy I love how they have check in on your phone and tablet instead of a bunch of papers good job guys I'm all about saving a tree. Staff very friendly the eye doctor made me feel very comfortable and educating me on my vision and how important it is to get checked every year. Highly recommend this place. read more

Most of the staff is very friendly, especially the guy who works at the front counter, the girl who does the preliminary eye testing and Dr. Angela (I *think* that was her name-- I don't know, I left with no paperwork). The manager, who is VERY pushy (and very loud when it comes to one on one conversation), *is* pretty accommodating.. definitely trying to get people in by offering up coupons and discounts. I'm not sure I'll be coming back as I wasn't really given any information on my eyes after the initial check-up... just pointed toward and almost strong armed in to buying a $380 pair of "computer glasses." I ended up leaving with a $150 pair of sunglasses that were originally $189... but I later found at Sunglass Hut for $139.95, so, I don't know who the bigger loser is here... me or them. They have the right idea, just the wrong way of going about it. read more

I had my eye appointment here. I needed a new prescription. The staff was kind and courteous, they engaged my 2 1/2 year old daughter, and even complimented her on her dress. They even gave her a FREE, yes you read correctly, free pair of sunglasses for children. They fit her perfectly and she loves them. I loved the Doctor, she was extremely nice and caring. I have been to this location twice and both times I feel like they got one over on me. The first time they insisted that I had to get the deal on contacts and that it was part of the insurance then once it was time to process the order they informed me I actually had to pay and their prices were 3 times over the normal market price. That was my first visit. Since then I have gotten about 4 texts saying its time for my next visit. Luckily the first time I fell for it and made an appointment the person working called and said it wasn't actually time for it according to my insurance. This time I received a phone call from them saying I was due for my next exam on my insurance. I go in for my appointment and the first thing I say to them is "I have no money with me, this should all be covered by my insurance" They say its no problem and start the appointment. It wasn't until the end when I am ready to walk out the door they inform me I am actually too early for my appointment according to my insurance and they need a form of payment right that instant..... I literally made a point to say I have no money this needs to be on my insurance... Why would you wait until after to tell me I actually am not covered by my insurance. Eventually the lady understood I literally could not pay and told me to call back... when I would be busy at work. Eventually they called me, with a slight attitude, and asked for my credit card info so they could close the transaction. Thank God I was able to find some spare money or my account would have been over withdrawn. My Eye Doctor seems Very deceitful. I definitely will be looking for a new doctor asap. One that listens to its patients. read more

This location is really small and has a terrible selection of frames. I waited over 45 minutes for my appointment with the Doctor, which I understand to a point, but I had to sit and listen to the employees talk and text. They were really all very unprofessional and treated customers with disrespect and rudeness when discussing pricing options for different products. The doctor was very kind and thorough. I took a brief look at their frame selections and I was so shocked to see the cheapest pair of no-name frames was around $200! At LensCrafters, Coach frames are less than that! I asked for my prescription and took it elsewhere for frames. read more

I've been to multiple locations for My Eye Dr. and I'll have to say that this location (Bristow/Nokesville- near target) location is my favorite now, solely because of Arvin. He is SO incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful that he made this visit VERY pleasant. He explained everything very thoroughly and the service given was 5 star quality. Love Dr. Coulborne and Javier, who has left since my last visit. However, merger with myeyedr is not a customer bonus. I got new prescription sunglasses and the insurance benefits were only partially applied by the office. I spent more than an hour with my insurance specialist who called the store to inquire and received the response that he could not tell her how the benefits were applied, that he just pushed the buttons and also told the agent there isnt a store manger. (?!?!?) Bristow location referred us to corporate billing who the said "oh, that's handled at the local store," but that no benefits were applied. After yet another call to the store, with insurance and corp billing, the, ahem, store manager is supposed to apply benefits, credit me, and call me to review. I will give that 24 hours. I think i am not the first to complain that in-network insurance benefits were not being applied to purchases. read more

My Eye Dr. is convenient, attractive, and comfortable. Dr. Bishop is kind and professional. Even though I only see her once a year, she remembers me and treats me like a regular. She explains things very well so I feel like I understand what is going on. All the office staff members are friendly and professional as well. All in all a positive experience. From the time I made my appointment to the time I picked up my glasses, this location of MyEyeDr has been fantastic! Dr. Bishop made me feel very calm and explained everything about my eyes and what I needed to keep an eye on as I grow older. As I was picking out my new glasses, they fixed 3 pairs of my reading glasses and their missing nose pads. They gave me honest opinions about several of the different frames I had picked out and helped me chose the right one. I love them! My contacts arrived about 3-4 days later and my glasses a few days after that. You are not another patient at this location, you are treated like family. I had a great experience at MyEyeDr! I brought in my prescription that was a little less than a year old and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Everyone looked very busy, but when someone got free, he helped me out. The turnaround was very quick even though I know that labs can have a long turn around time (much faster than Kaiser and Hour Eyes). I ended up getting a pair of Vera Bradley glasses that I really like. I'll definitely be returning and have recommended MED to my family and friends. read more

I had a fantastic experience at the My Eye Dr in Manassas. I went because I purchased an amazon local deal. I was able to make an appointment online, which was very convenient. They sent me several reminders, including a text message the morning of. I was late getting to my appointment, and they were still able to fit me in, even though it was a busy Saturday. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and as an added bonus, the eye doctor I saw was the same eye doctor I saw when I was a kid! They had a great selection of eye glasses, and the staff was helpful in finding the right frames for my face. I would highly recommend visiting this location. read more

The only reason why this place got 3 stars is because Dr. Bishop was so nice. The staff stick to you like leaches after your appointment, incessantly trying to upsell. The woman helping my Mom was literally two inches away from us and followed us around the whole store. When we moved, she would too. Lady, get a clue... If we picked up a frame that was less than $250, she'd say - "Oh you don't want those." That kind of behavior is extremely unprofessional and annoying. However, as I mentioned before Dr. Bishop was very friendly and helpful. We went here with a groupon, thinking it would save us money. It did NOT! Spent $60 on the groupon. The groupon included an appointment and $225 towards glasses and frames. We still ended up spending about $250 additionally. So that means we spent around $310 of our own money and the glasses/frames were around $500 . And they weren't even designer. All the frames there were pretty pricey. Selection wasn't that large or impressive. Not worth it, even with a groupon. read more

Once again My Eye Dr in Manassas, Va has been very well deserving of this review...first of all, If you are reading this head over to the Manassas location and let Alex, Valerie, Diana & the rest of the staff help you in deciding which frames look best on you. What I like most about this location is they are HONEST. If the frames just don't seem to fit you as a person they will tell you. I would rather be told " those don't look good" or to be sent away for humiliation. All my future eye care needs will be handled at this location. Great job guys/gals!!!! You are the best!!! I didnt know what to expect going into my appointment since I hadn't had my eyes checked in almost a decade. The staff at this location wete beyond caring and professional. From the moment I walked in, to the woman who conducted the screening process, the Doctor was very feindly and willing to explain things thouroughly. The best was the woman at the end that really made me feel like the frames I picked made me happy. Everyone waa great. I definitley will be referring my friends and family here. read more

I have been going to MyEyeDr in Manassas for the last 3 years and have also taken my teenage son there. We both had great experiences with the exam and getting eye wear--all the staff are extremely helpful and knowledgable--and we both found glasses that we love. I was just in recently and am excited to receive my new pair of glasses and the custom clip-on sunglasses that they are making to match the frames I ordered. The last 2 times we have gone there, they found a way to bait and switch. I have my eyes checked there, but I refuse to buy glasses from them anymore. The first time we had a problem, my husband's glasses broke from a defect. When he bought them (Oakleys), he was told they had a lifetime warranty. Then they broke. Suddenly, they had no warranty and My Eye Dr. wanted him to pay for another pair of glasses. My husband called Oakley, and was told the frames were no longer available, but they were indeed under warranty. After having Oakley deal with them, he got another pair of a different brand (Stetson). I don't remember who footed that bill. This time they were going to put new lenses in my husband's existing frames and charged him for the new lenses. Lo and behold, the frames are no longer available! My husband went in and told them we ordered glasses online and wanted a refund for the lenses. He was told, "That will be very difficult." WHY? Next contact, the BBB. read more

The customer service is very bad. I had called to order contact lenses then stopped in to pick up a week later. The manager told me they had ordered but were not in yet and he would call me later to let me know when they would be in. He never called. I then stopped back a week later to see if they had come in. The girl working the front desk said that they had not been ordered but they would order and give me a call. Again they never called me. Not a good sign when the manager lies to customers and they aren't capable of doing something as simple as ordering contact lenses for a customer. read more

So I went to the Bristow location this morning for an Exam. As I am waiting to be seen I overhear an elderly woman's conversation with one of the optician. Apparently the woman had already purchased a year supply of contacts but was unhappy with the way she was being treated by the optician so she informs the optician that she doesn't want to purchase the HD eyeglasses that the woman seemed to be trying to push on her and that in fact because she was so unpleased with her visit, she wanted a refunded...(What I observed), as soon as she told the woman she did not want to purchase the more expensive lens, the optician's attitude DID A COMPLETE 180. She became very short with the customer. The woman also made a statement about how the woman who had previously been assisted by the optician didn't have insurance and consequently seemed to paying less money than her. As she is trying to explain that although right at the moment she paid 3 dollars less than the woman who preceded her, she had to pay insurance all well; ergo she was paying more money. Instead of being sympathetic the employee cut her off and just kept repeating no thats not true..I spoke to the woman while the employee went off to get something and she explained to me that not only were they rude to her, but when she requested her prescription, the employee tells her that she can not have it today because she scanned it into the wrong patients file...the woman left FURIOUS saying I am going next door to TJ Maxx when I come back I expect to have my prescription..the employee told her no she can't do that. To avoid dealing with this employee's nastiness I completed my exam and off the bat requested my prescription in order to take my business elsewhere. Not to mention the back and forth that went on about who was going to do my pretesting..The optometrist seemed irritated that I waited so long and she had to pretest me because no else had or would (i guess). She apologized to me which I accepted. I have been going to My Eye Dr. since HS but honestly after my unfortunate dealings with the Woodbridge office and my experience today at Bistow, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more
