Waiting room crowded and not enough chairs. Wait time to see Dr. was long. Still a good experience. Great front desk staff.

Procedure performed on the wrong eye.I had my first LASIK procedure with Dr. Mark Whitten in 2005…read morefor vision correction. Naturally, about 15 years later, I needed another correction and returned to Dr. Whitten for a consultation. During that visit, he recommended monovision, given my age at the time (late 40s). He explained that this approach would allow me to balance both near- and far-sighted vision without needing reading glasses, which many people begin using in their 50s. However, after the procedure I immediately noticed difficulty seeing clearly. Over the following year, I continued to struggle with my vision--particularly problematic in my work as a professional photographer--and sought evaluations from multiple optometrists and ophthalmologists. I then discovered that the LASIK procedure had been performed on the wrong eye. When I returned to see Dr. Whitten, I learned that neither he nor his staff had ever determined my dominant eye prior to surgery. In fact, my old patient notes from 2020 confirm that no such test was performed. Despite this, no apology was offered for the mistake. During that visit, I was seen by John Rogers, a technician and former Senior Surgical Consultant at TLC Vision. His background includes attending Computer Tech of Pittsburgh, but he has no formal education or degree in optometry or ophthalmology. He suggested inappropriate options such as cataract surgery (for which I am not a candidate) and during the same visit Dr. Whitten suggested undergoing yet another LASIK procedure (a third) to correct the issue or resorting to contact lenses--the very reason I had LASIK in the first place. This experience left me with the strong impression that the practice prioritizes business and profit over genuine patient care and vision correction. I regret not doing more thorough research before returning for a second procedure, as I have since learned of multiple malpractice lawsuits filed against Dr. Whitten, including Jamie Domeier vs. Mark Whitten, David Cantalupo vs. Mark Whitten, and Liesl Nichols vs. Mark Whitten. I also couldn't help but notice the promotional posters displayed across his offices, highlighting his LASIK surgery on Tiger Woods in 1999 as a marketing tool to brand himself as a "celebrity" doctor. Unfortunately, beyond the image, his apparent lack of attention and care for patients has led to a troubling number of lawsuits.

My recent experience here was incredibly disappointing. I received Lasik surgery when I was an…read moreolder teenager (college age). At that time, my mom handled most of the paperwork/scheduling etc. The surgery went well, and 10 years later I started experienced some vision changes. I recalled that there was a "Lifetime Guarantee," so recently I followed up and requested a consultation for an enhancement. My mother recently passed away, and I haven't been able to find any paperwork for my procedure (which was 15 years ago). I called the office, and they were able to find my file. They asked me how long I'd been going to the eye doctor, and I said about 5 years (since I had a baby and my vision declined). I arrived at the consultation, and it went well. Friendly office staff, etc. I was excited to find out that I was eligible for an enhancement in both eyes. As I was about to leave the appointment, they sat me down with someone to "review paperwork," which is when she informed me that since I hadn't had a full vision evaluation annually since my surgery, I wasn't eligible for the "Lifetime Guarantee" and that I would be charged $3,000 for the enhancement. I asked why it was expected to go to vision appointments annually when you have perfect vision, and she said "company policy." I understand that they are legally in the right, and I'm sure I was informed of this as a teenager; however, I feel taken advantage of. It felt like an ethically ambiguous money-grabbing situation. The surgery went well and I'm sure Dr. Whitten is very skilled; however, the follow-up experience was poor. Be cautious.

The staff is friendly and the doctor who was there (Dr. Kim), was awesome. I like the new Dr as well but Dr. Kim definitely made an impression on my boys and I. I live over an hour away from this place. Does that tell you anything? I think the staff is wonderful with the kids. They laid the groundwork with my son to not have a fear of the dentist and has kept his teeth in great shape despite his addiction to marshmallows (prizes for potty training). The dentists are grads from UPENN (currently the top dental school if not one of the top 3) and everyone we have worked (great hygienists and assistants) with have made this place awesome- Which is more than I can say about those Chain Pediatric dental offices that employ dentists who are not pediatric dentists at all..... Unlike at KOOL smiles or whatever it is called, they wont "YELL" at you child to calm them down by scaring them. They use this awesome reward system (token to get a prize for being good) at the end to pick a toy in one of the dispensers. ALSO, the cute ship for kids to play in at the corner of the waiting room - PERFECT. Kept my kids busy for my 5 min wait (which is forever in kid time) As for scheduling, I don't mind scheduling in advance for the appointments I need (Sorry, Angela C.), but when I've needed to reschedule, they were fine with it as long as it wasn't a last-minute thing (I changed it a week or two out). My son hasn't needed it yet, but they offer DVDs for kids to watch during their procedure...(healthy teeth thanks to this place) The office is a building shared with an orthodontist on the other side (uhm.. can we say perfect transition to the tween years?) the ONLY drawback is the distance... but it is worth it for us.

My husband and I are in the process of building a home in NC and that means that many decisions are being made remotely, long distance, and without being onsite. Shortages and delays are common place these days so it shouldn't have been a surprise when we needed to change our countertops from those we originally selected. Cord's Cabinetry carry the same brand countertops offered by our kitchen contractor in NC. I had to visit the Cord's showroom three times in the span of just a few days trying to select a quartz that was readily available ..... in NC! Maggie was there each time and always greeted me with a smile! I explained that I was there simply to look at their displays and that I would not be a customer so I didn't expect anything from them. I didn't want to take up their time, just take up a little space while I looked at their samples. Maggie smiled, nodded, and proceeded to help me find several options that looked nice with our cabinets. She extended this time and assistance THREE TIMES!! You see, after the first two visits whenI took a list back to my contractor in NC, I found out that those quartz products would not be available in time for us. Even when I walked through the door the third time, Maggie came out to greet me and continue to offer suggestions, pull samples, put samples away, help me with photographing options that we were interested in ..... Maggie was what all customer service should be!! If we were local and needed the services offered by Cord's Cabinetry .... I would have no hesitation in contracting them to work with us on our project. You shouldn't either!!

So before I begin, keep in mind that I gave this company several chances to make things right over…read morethe last 3 weeks before writing this. Today was the final straw. So here goes my experience: About a month ago, I went in person to Cord's Cabinetry and asked how much it would cost for measurements of my kitchen so that I could deliver them to my designer. I could have easily taken these myself but my designer said to have them professionally done so that the schematics would be correct with no room for error. So I gave my information to the front desk at Cord's Cabinetry to a lady named Karen who was very kind and accommodating. She said I would receive a call from Mr Cord and could plan a date and time from there. About 5 days later Mr Cord called me back and we set an appointment for a weekday morning before I had to be at work. He came in and did the measurements, I handed him $150 cash which I'm certain they did not report to the IRS as revenue as I did not receive a receipt, and then he left. About a week later, I received an email with an estimate and these pictures (and yes, they were sideways in the email just like they are here). I kindly replied via email saying: "Tue, Feb 15, 5:01 PM to karen Karen, I was hoping to get the measurements so that my designer can do her thing, then I can get back with the cabinets we end up going with etc. Regards, Aaron Krahling" She responded saying that they do not give out the measurements until you make a deposit on cabinets from them, basically extortion in the form of keeping my measurements in order to force me to pay a deposit on cabinets that I hadn't even had the chance to give the measurements to the designer for. This is when I started to get angry. I paid $150 for something that takes less than 10 minutes that I could have done myself and now they won't give me the schematics. I responded letting her know that I needed the measurements to give to my designer. They basically reiterated their statement saying that they would not release the measurements until I made a deposit on cabinets that once again, I had no way at all of knowing what I needed other than what they showed me in the sideways attached pictures. So now I'm pretty upset. I try one last email attempt and Karen responded saying that they do not give out the measurements because then someone could take them to another cabinet company and not use Cord's for the work. Mind blown at this point and at my boiling point, I responded again saying that I paid for measurements and would like them. They wouldn't give them to me and still have not to this day. They finally did give a design of what they could make the kitchen look like but will not release the schematics of the kitchen even though this is what I paid for. Maybe they do good work, I don't know, but this is wrong. When someone pays you for something, you give it to them, not try to hold it hostage to force them to buy more products. I mean, what if I was trying to plan this out for a year from now? The whole thing just doesn't and didn't make sense. Finally, I went back today in person to try to talk to them and they once again said that they do not give out the measurements and I should have told the guy measuring what I wanted if that was the case. I'm not sure what other reason I would ask for measurements for? At this point, I'm so pissed off that I raised my voice and they basically said to take them to small claims court, so I guess I'll have to waste a day of my valuable time just on the principle. I was very angry and I guess next time I see them will be in said small claims court for not providing the service that i paid for. So simple, so sad, STEER CLEAR!

They charged exactly what was discussed/contained in their brochure. They did not charge extra for delivery. They leveled the shed with cinder blocks (our yard is not level). The shed was built to our exact specifications and they placed it in the corner of the yard that I asked them to with about 12 inch clearance from the fence. We compared the price of the shed to two other competitors and they had the best price for what we received. I could not be happier with the entire process. The same gentleman who sold us the shed delivered it. He was courteous and conscientious during both. He did not rush the delivery process as some companies do. He verified with me throughout that the placement was correct. The only thing that may turn some customers away is that they do not deliver on the weekend. This was not a big deal for us. If you want a shed and live in Southern Maryland, this is the place to go. I do not think I could have built the shed for what they charge and it is in my back yard a week after the order. Great company.
