FEBRUARY IS "CAN'T PRODUCE THE GLASSES RIGHT MONTH!" Don't get me wrong. The Zebulon MyEyeDr office has a great staff headed up by Jazzie. But the lab in Greensboro should be leveled. They can't get anything right. My new glasses came in a couple of weeks ago, after being on order two weeks earlier and the lenses were two sizes, that's from a 56 to a 52, too small. Any idiot could plainly see that. So we sent them back...again. And here I wait again... In the past, we have had to send a pair back as many as four (4) times to get them right, where one thing or another was wrong. And that occurred multiple times. I have never had a pair to come in, absolutely ready to wear and correct. We like the Zebulon MED staff, but honestly, how do you people stay in business. FYI, these glasses were over $500 after insurance. No wonder there's a Warby Parker. read more

If I were rating off of my experience with check in it would be one star. My experience with the provider that takes you back to do the tests before you see the doctor was excellent. My experience with Dr. Ward was excellent. And the provider who helps me with trying on glasses/contacts was excellent, all five stars for these providers. I went in for a sick eye visit and he found out what was going on and had a plan of action for me. The problem that occurred at my visit with the front desk: Scheduled my appointment for a sick eye visit and I was called one business day prior (Friday) for covid screening questions and confirming my appointment. The receptionist let me know I would be paying out of pocket due to my insurance and asked if I would like to reschedule it for January. I said no, this is implicating my quality of life, I need to come in and will pay the $100 she quoted me for my sick visit. She then confirmed me for my appointment. I then received two voicemails over the weekend from two other different receptionists saying again that my insurance won't cover and to call to reschedule IF I wanted to wait until January. I arrived for my apppintment Monday and found out that they cancelled it and replaced it with another patient resulting in a double booking for my visit. She condescendingly said they tried to call me multiple times and assumed I wouldn't want to pay out of pocket so they cancelled my apt. Not only that but when I stated this was a sick eye appointment that I confirmed it Friday, the eye examiner later caught that I should not have been put as self pay. That the front mistakenly put that this was a regular eye exam. My insurance covers this sick visit. My appointment cost dropped from $100 to $40 thanks to this provider. I have been with myeyedr for 10 years and this was the worst experience I had. Unfortunately due to the front desk I will not be returning. read more

The last time I called, I was put me on hold and I got disconnected. I called back and asked to speak with an office manager and again got disconnected again. For the last 12 years, I have been going to another location which was closer to where I live. Even when it was under a different name. It seemed like after Dr. Batey ( sp) left that office a few years back customer service went downhill. I will not mention that location but my last 4 visits left me frustrated to say the least :(. After my last visit, I decided that I would take my daughter to another location to look for new glasses. We first went to the Crabtree location and Victoria was awesome and helpful; however, there was not a lot of inventory there for my teen :). Beautiful store, just smaller :). We then went to the Six Forks location and I will always be a patient there moving forward. The manager was extremely accommodating and Stephen ( who helped us) was awesome! Stephen took his time with us on two separate days. He was honest with feedback, fast and efficient. I should repeat that, "Fast and efficient." I cannot say how much I appreciate a place that is on top of things along with offering incredible customer service. This location has it, and I know It is a rare find these days. My family and I will definitely continue going to this location in the future. My past location was only a 5 minute drive; however, it is definitely worth it to me to drive the extra 20 minutes to this practice! read more

Without my knowledge or agreement, the NC Midtown East office put a $29. charge on my bill for "Eyewear Protection Plan". They quickly credited my card for this when asked. It is dishonest to sneak extra charges on a patient's bill. Patients should be informed and agree to any extras. Parking at this location is challenging. The office is otherwise excellent. read more

Had a great first visit with myeyedr. While it did take a few weeks to obtain an appointment (I needed something after 5 PM), the initial scheduling process was simple. I was able to complete the paperwork ahead of time, thanks to them having the forms online. My 5:45 PM appointment time arrived & I was right on time. The office was bustling with plenty of staff & customers. I was helped right away by a sweet young lady, Casey, & she got me checked in. She also had me fill out a postcard reminder for them to send me next year. I waited less than five minutes & was taken back by another young lady (can't recall her name), who was just as friendly. She took my information & noted my history in the computer. She then did the pre-screen eye exam, the "puff" test & took pictures of my eyes (internally). I then was taken to an exam room, where I waited about five more minutes. Dr. Steele arrived & was super nice & friendly. She's very knowledgable & listened to my concerns, as well as my current eye issues. We did the eye exam & we were done in about 10 minutes. After that, I went back out front with the first employee who helped me. We chatted about our "fur babies", while she checked on my insurance allowance. I just needed lenses put in my current frames, so thankfully my insurance covered the bulk of the cost. All in all, a great first experience here. Now to wait the week time-frame for my new lenses. read more

I was very pleased with my initial visit, however, I had to make several return visits, and it always seemed they were after more money. The initial visit was very well laid out. You meet with someone who does some initial checks, then you meet with the eye doctor for the exam, and then you take your prescription, choose some frames and lenses and make your payment and you're on your way. I returned a few days later to pick up my glasses, excited to be able to see better. After a couple of days, it was very clear that I couldn't see better. I couldn't read street signs, license plates, etc. So, I returned. I met with a glasses person, and they were going to re-make the lenses, but I needed "enhanced lenses", which were an extra $47. OK, I agreed. I get new glasses a few days later, I take them, and still can't see. I bring them back. They start telling me i need a pair for driving, a pair for computer, a pair for reading, etc. I say no, I need a pair I can see with. So, they took more measurements, and were going to re-make the glasses again. A few days later, I pick up new glasses. I wear them a few days, and I'm back. This time, they schedule me to see the doctor again. She says she got the prescription wrong initially, and gave me a new prescription. I wait for new glasses to be made. New glasses are better and will do, but I'm not excited about them, the hassle, or the amount of money I've spent for the whole mediocre experience. I did feel like every time I went back due to an issue with the glasses, there was some up-charge option they were trying to sell me, which I really didn't appreciate. I came here because I was having difficulty seeing. Don't try to sell me something additional if you haven't gotten the first thing right. read more

Growing up I AWAYS went to the same optometrist, unfortunately they've been closed for two years and the last place I went to left a bad "sight in my eyes" hehe. Luckily I stumbled upon this wonderful office. First off not only was Dr.Glover was an absolute pleasure, but he made me feel more informed about my eye health and causes for strain, potential remedies, etc etc than I ever had before! He asked relevant questions about my personal and professional life which led to improved and customized recommendations. Once my prescription was set he passed me off to Stephen! Now I'm unfortunately one of those picky, "looking for a certain type of style but have no idea how to describe it apart from big" type of gal so normally I search on my own. Stephen was incredibly patient and diligent about presenting me with styles he genuinely thought I'd like and just like Dr.Glover asked relevant and poignant questions. He described my VSP benefits perfectly and helped me find the almost perfect pair of glasses! Also if you're worried about Covid concerns feel better in the fact that they sanitize every space once a person gets up and provide every customer with an appropriate disposable mask to reduce risk! I normally do not write reviews, but I would hate for someone to have a similar experience. The My Eye Dr. establishment off of Six Forks tries to sell you every insurance etc. making you pay more, but will not honor what your were sold. I purchased a year supply of contact lenses, but when I had to reschedule an appointment, I asked for a replacement pair, which the contract said I would receive. They said they could NOT give me a temporary pair, even though I had paid for the extra service. They said, "Your prescription has expired." I said I am wearing them now, I just need a replacement of the same pair. Also, they must get some other kickback because they were trying to convince me not to use my $100 allowance from my insurance and instead to fill out all this paper work for a $100 rebate. It was a huge hassle and I ended up paying for twice as much. I do not plan to return to this location. read more

I decided to make an appointment with a Mr.EyeDr closer to my home and ended up doing so at this location with Dr. Julia Pridgen. I am so glad I did! The entire experience was satisfactory and the treatment from Dr. Pridgen was superb. She spent time and energy interpreting results and explaining concepts to me that I hadn't received before- She is informed in her profession and I can tell she also has a passion for what she does. The dr. went above and beyond and she really made me feel valued, not just 'another patient of the day'. Other notes included easy scheduling online, multiple reminder messages, breezy check in, friendly in-take employees, and great customer service with glasses and checking out. Susy helped me with fitting- she was an informed sales lady/receptionist who made me feel comfortable and not pushed into something I didnt want. She knows whats up! I am super happy with my vision health check up experience and would recommend this location. A plus! read more

Dr. Boyd is really great at figuring out my complicated prescription and is a sweetheart. That is where the good part ends I have never had a time when I went in, got my glasses/contacts and they were correct the first time. The opticians always seem to miss the mark the first time. Then is when the real problem begins of having to get things corrected with the staff. I have averaged about 7.5 trips there per new set and God only knows how many phone calls/emails to finally get things corrected. The other locations are just as bad or worse. Their issue is a systemic one in that it is not set up to deal with complications or problems, just herding people thru like cattle. read more

I had my appointment rescheduled three times while trying to correct my contacts that bothered my eyes so bad I couldn't wear them. I was nothing but accepting and accommodating to the changes. I spent way to much money on something I can't even wear. Now they are telling me it is not refundable or changeable. Ray at the front desk was nonaccomadating and rude. 4.5 Stars. I visited Dr. Steele for the good ol' annual checkup and thought this was a well run optometry office. The staff is friendly and helpful. The equipment is in good condition and works, as expected. The visit with the doctor was short and sweet - I would have liked a little more time, but not that big a deal. The prices for the basic eye exam are reasonable; I do not know how much they charge for contact fittings. I quickly looked at some frames & lenses for good humor and thought their prices were what I expected, a little higher than the mall stores. However, the customer service seemed better and the staff seemed to take the time to help you with your selection, explain the options, and get to know you and your needs before making suggestions--more than I expect from the mall stores. Parking & hours are easy. There are a handful of eye doctors that work here, so make sure you schedule your appointment with one that takes your insurance and meets your needs. I found they satisfied everything I needed and I will be revisiting in an year. read more

I have seen Dr Steele for the last four or five years. Even though our time together is never longer than twenty minutes or so, she always makes me feel as if we have the relationship of two friends who regularly visit or just had lunch last week. Her eye care knowledge casts a wide net, but she always explains everything in simple terms so its easy to understand. She genuinely cares about your eye health, and wants to make sure her patients have overall care outside of her office for total well being. Great Doctor and staff! Everyone was very knowledgeable and great to work with. I love that I can make an appointment, so I don't have to miss work, due to their convenient hours. They have plenty of options to choose from when picking out glasses/contacts, so you shouldn't have a problem finding something that suites you. The only issue I had was that they dilated my eyes and upon check out did not explain how the rebate worked very well and since I couldn't see anything I am going to have to call to get a better explanation; otherwise they were fantastic! read more

What a great experience David really made a difference here today. I had an issue with my prescription not being just right and he walked me through it and helped me to get it fixed. They stand behind their products and with staff members David you will have a great experience here. The front desk and Dr. and the rest are great too but David was the stand out for me today because he helped me resolve an issue and thus show how he and his company are all about service. Dr. Boyd was a good doctor. She was helpful, validated my concerns and was easy to talk to. The front desk staff, however, was abysmal. Not only did they spell my name wrong, continuously, they also never fixed it. Quite annoying, for someone whose full name is 9 letters long. On top of that, I asked for my prescription to be signed since outside eyeglasses providers require a signature on prescriptions. They didn't do it. Also, I asked for pupillary distance measurements and got a full-blown lecture after. Obviously, I understand the risk of buying glasses online, but if yours didn't cost $485, I wouldn't have to. The woman who took my pupillary distance measurements (her name starts with a T) wrote the wrong numbers in the wrong spots. There are slots for OU, OD, and OS. I had no idea what any of them meant, and it wasn't until I tried to order eyeglasses online that I realized she mixed up a couple of my numbers. Because of both of these things, I required a second trip back to get them to fix it. The reason they are getting a 3 star is because they did indeed get the signature on the prescription and I got someone else to measure my PD and report it correctly. It shouldn't have even required a second time, though. read more

Doctor was fine but this place is outrageous in pricing! They quoted me $864 just for lenses (with my insurance) and $664 without it. JUST LENSES!! I asked for my prescription back to order elsewhere. They did not include the pupil distance (and it was measured). I had to call to ask for the pupil distance. Girl tells me I need to "sign a release" because she "doesn't know if it's(me)". Now how's she to know it's me if a sign a form and fax it back? Common sense has take. A hiatus!! So so. I consider myself an easy patient. I go once a year for contact lens exams, and my prescription is simple (somewhat nearsighted) and has not changed in ten years since I finished grad school. The good: it's a factory, so they can get you in and out relatively quick. Dr. Boyd is a sweetheart. Good selection of frames. Will ship contacts direct and the year's supply always arrives quicker than they say. The bad: It's a factory. I had a minor eye infection, and they were able to get me in the next day (good). But then the prescription (steroid eye drops) cost $367.50! I did not pay it, and called them. They said I could get a coupon, but it took three more calls to get the Rx called to a new pharmacy, and my eye got more bothersome. Luckily it ended up costing $10, but it was a lot of aggravation. read more
