EYE EXPRESS IN WINTER HAVEN IS A RIP OFF they sure know how to jack the price up when I went there to purchase a very medium price eye glasses (by the way the frames were $115 just about the cheapest ones they had so that wasn't what jacked the price up). The total was $439.00 THEY TOOK MY INSURANCE OF $200 and then wanted $237.00 more from me and at this price it DID NOT including the eye exam. I walked out and went else where. "Eye Specialists" is where I finally went and received glasses for HALF THE PRICE AS EYE EXPRESS wanted and I even got the NON GLARE which wasn't included at Eye Express BUYER BEWARE! ! ! ! read more

Usual eye exam and recommendations. Service was great, everyone was kind and helpful. Let's talk about house keeping. This is an area that could use some improvement. No soap in the restroom. No hand sanitizer available to the general public. In the midst of flu season I would think a medical clinic would be over encouraging washing hands and keeping germs at bay. Not here. This place is just awful. I scratched my eye really bad a couple of weeks ago. My primary care provider, referred me to them. Dr Katie gave me some drops. I asked her if I needed a referral to see an actual eye dr. She said we would wait and see if the drops would help. Well, they did not, so I called to ask for a referral from her. She refused to refer me to a specialist unless I came back to her for a follow up. I told the office lady, that with the Holidays coming up, it would just make sense to get me into a specialist right away. She suggested to the receptionist that I go to the ER, which is where I went when I first hurt my eye. I went to urgent care prior to the ER as well. I just felt I should see an actual eye Dr. At this point. I called my primary who said that they would call them, because the only reason they recommended me to them, was that they would refer me out.. The receptionist was rude, and I felt that they just could care less. I should have known better, a year ago, I ordered a pair of glasses, and it was like pulling teeth to get them. It took over a month, and had to keep calling them.. Horrible service!!! Thought I would give them another chance. Big mistake.. Will be going to a different Eye Dr for sure. Guess "Dr". I have been a patient since 2001 and was very happy with the service UNTIL it became My Eye Dr then it became about money and NOT service. I had an appointment in January 2019. I have had medicare and MVP for six years and both paid ftheir share of the eye exam. In June 2019 I received a bill for $120 for the January appt. When I checked there was no claim submitted to medicare or MVP. I called billing at My Eye Dr and explained that they had mot sent a claim to be paid to either of my insurances. NOW today, September 4 I am having pain in my right eye and called them for an appointment and they could see me tomorrow. Great! But then I received a call later today saying that I have an outstanding bill from January 2019 of $120 that must be paid before I can be seen. I went to my medicare and MVP claims received and NO claim sent from My Eye Dr for January 2019! Cancelled my appointment - time for a new eye doctor! read more

I have been taking my children and myself to this place for about 7-8 years now. Always professional, clean, and patient. The prices are about what you would expect for a middle to higher end boutique. That's not to say they don't have cheap frames and lenses, they do, but their price range runs the gamut. This is not an assembly line for patients, they take the time to know your name, and bring you exceptional service. I have bought everything from sport lenses, sunglasses, contact lenses, and have never had a problem. They also have an amazing policy on broken lenses (for anyone reading with kids). I went in 2015. They made me pay oop $75 when I told them I didn't have copay they said if insurance covered they would reimburse. It is now 2017 I still have not received. In these 2 years I have called or stopped by. The front desk continuously told me it would go against my frames or lenses. I kept telling them I don't have a script because my readers were fine. My last call last month I was told again a manager would call me. No calls. Not a professional company. read more

No wait for the eye exam. We were actually early and they managed to speed up the process and took us right back. I felt like I was able to ask all the questions I could think of. Went over ever little detail and then off to get glasses. Looking at the selection very nice sales representative helped get me the right pair for my face. She took the time to explain cost and how the insurance would cover, got me the best without costing me a fortune. Now the fun begins, I was told they would be in on the 19th no phone call. So on the 20th I call didn't want to make a wasted trip. They are there and ready for pick up. I get there at 4 sign in and wait. After 50 minutes I see other people who came in after me being seen. Go to the sign in sheet my name is marked off and someone wrote next beside it. Questioned the fitter, was told those people had requested them. No one ever mentioned that was an option I so would have set an appointment. Then while standing by the sheet I still get called over. A very nice man, another customer stated no she is next pointing at me. Took about 1 minute to find the glasses and 1 minute to put them on my face and read a piece of paper and I was out. The pick up process is truly ridiculous. read more

These people are completely unhelpful. I understand them needing to see his glasses to prove they're broken, but why can't we just bring them when we pick up new glasses. I dropped his glasses off so they could replace them, they said they'd call when they're ready, and I told them if new frames needed to be picked out that any the same size would do. when I got home that day from work my son had a note saying he'd failed his vision screening at school and would have another a week from that one, so I was all "thank god I dropped his glasses off" but now his screening is tomorrow, they still haven't called, so I called. Instead of calling me to let me know it was mandatory that we pick out new frames they just didn't call us. We both work and have one vehicle. it's virtually impossible for us to make it here, especially since it's a half an hour drive each way and apparently we're going to have to wait to talk to an associate and all that crap. I don't understand why ordering a replacement is so difficult. It should just be "hey I need these replaced" then you bring in the broken ones when you pick up the new pair since that's when you pay for them anyways. also I've asked them to email me his prescription twice, and they confirm my email and agree, and then I never get his prescription. I hate dealing with these people and am searching for new options. read more

went into eye express this morning because my son lens needed to be replaced. Rhonda (winter haven office) looked on the shelf behind her and said we gonna have to order your lens cause we dont have it in stock the price was gonna be $58 so i walked out and came back in and got a gentleman this time and he indeed found the frame and only charged me $41 and told me that my glasses would be ready in couple hours. Wondering what was rhonda going to do...pocket the difference or what? read more
