They claimed the exam takes 25 minutes, which has not been my experience elsewhere. It is clear they care more about hitting the exit door than helping a new patient who was ready to buy a nice pair of frames. They tried to reschedule me for tomorrow, but I declined. In the past, I had positive experiences here, but my latest visit has compelled me to reconsider…read morereturning. Initially, it took an unacceptable 4-5 weeks for my glasses to be ready. After 3 phone calls, I happened to be passing by and decided to stop in the store. Miraculously, my glasses were ready. (So did it really take that long, I will never know). I tried them on, but I could not see out of one lens at all. John assured me they would send the glasses back for correction. To my frustration, it took an additional three weeks to receive them again. (Or did they, who really knows?) When I finally got the glasses back, I noticed significant distortion while looking at my phone and computer. I go back to the store, and he tells me I just need time to adjust to the progressive lenses. As someone who has used progressives for years, I know how they should perform, and it was clear there was an issue. He asked me to give it a week, which I reluctantly agreed to. (Whatever, I am growing tired of this at this point.) The very next day, I realized my lenses are not transition. I called again to confirm this. When he got on the phone, he informed me that my lenses were clear. I said yes, I can see that. I asked for clarification because I was confident I had paid for transitions. (He never verified) Instead, he says it would be an easy fix and promised to order the new lenses. However, it has now been over a month, and summer is over with no updates on my transition lenses. While I appreciate the staff's "politeness", their commitment to customer service and follow-through is lacking. I am extremely disappointed. With that said, I will never return. I am officially done.

And they were extremely rude. As others have warned - do not go to this place. Most recently however, it might be safe to say that i have fallen victim to their most productive, effective and genuinely kind staff member, Lauren. She somehow managed to exceed all expectactions for a place i already held dearly in my heart. I recommend this place to anyone in need of a new pair of spectacles. Spectacles however shouldnt be necessary to clearly see the level of attention in Lauren's impeccable costumer care - because, just wow, really! This lovely shop/office was suggested through my insurance so I made an appointment. I'd been having vision issues in my left eye for a few months and had been wearing readers from a high-end online store that I thought were pretty fashionable. As soon as I walked into Eyes on Hudson, I realized that this was going to be a VERY SPECIAL experience. The shop itself is beautiful. Gorgeous glasses of all types line the shelves as well as accessories you simply do not see anywhere else. Sweet Tina at the front desk whisked me into my first examining room with a thorough question and answer session that prepared me for my best ever (and I'm NOT YOUNG) eye exam with Dr. Rogerson. Thorough does not even begin to describe the process by which she diagnosed my astigmatism in one eye that had gone unnoticed at previous appointments with other doctors! As if that wasn't enough, it was time to select a pair of glasses. Peering at all of the gorgeous options, I asked the very stylish optician Justin for help. From across the room he appears with a stunning pair of Hunter green frames that I would have never selected on my own-- but look PERFECT on me and I'm not a vain person! How did he do that? I'm never going anywhere else for glasses EVER! When I went to pick up my frames, I also was fitted for contact lenses which was another awesome experience. I went to Eyes on Hudson to fulfill prescriptions for two pairs of very specialized glasses. The…read moreoptician took my prescriptions, but did not do any consultation or measurements at the visit. (I brought my own frames.) When I received the glasses and I couldn't see out of them, I found out from a subsequent visit to my orthoptist and another optician that both pair of glasses we made incorrectly and that the prescription in one pair was way off. When I contacted Eyes on Hudson about the issues, my concerns were met with exasperation and an overall unwillingness to work with me. I have since gone to another optician who specializes in difficult prescriptions. Perhaps Eyes on Hudson is very good for general glasses. But I would not recommend the business if one has any special needs.

When I arrived, Frank recognized me just from voice, as I had called a day earlier to check if appointments were necessary, which they weren't. He inspected my frames and kindly shared that while he could fix them, he recommended just buying new frames from the original retailer, and then he'd swap out the lenses for me, because it would be cheaper than him fixing it. This was really thoughtful of him to consider what would be most affordable for me. In addition to the lens switch, he also adjusted my regular glasses at no charge. You can tell that he has great passion for his work and is constantly busy because customers appreciate the care he puts into every service. He is warm and welcoming to all. Highly recommend a visit for any glasses needs!
