A standard bitewing X-ray didn't provide adequate imaging to diagnose the cause of the infection that was present. I was quickly scheduled at this office, and seen within just a few days of being referred. Dr. Rosenbaum was very attentive and focused throughout my exam, and clearly explained what the cone beam scan indicated. (The tooth was cracked and needed to be extracted. He also offered his opinion that there was no need for an expensive implant to replace the tooth - which I really appreciated.) I received a referral to an oral surgeon, and as it turned out, I could be seen by that practice within 24 hours due to a cancellation. North Shore provided same-day turnaround in getting me a copy of my scan, and helped me to coordinate this with the oral surgeon's office. Bravo! I am very appreciative of the professionalism and efficiency of this team, and have no hesitation in recommending them.

However, I was really disappointed that I never had a chance to speak directly with the endodontist--neither before the procedure nor after. As the parent and the one financially responsible, I expected at least a brief conversation with the provider. Not just out of curiosity, but because it's essential to understand what was found during the evaluation, what the procedure would entail, and what to expect during recovery--especially when it's the patient's first time undergoing something like this. Handing over a few papers is not a substitute for direct communication. This was a significant investment, and I was there to support someone who was nervous and unfamiliar with the process. The lack of engagement from the endodontist made it feel transactional instead of caring. When it comes to specialized care, trust and communication aren't extras--they're expectations. I left feeling like I wasn't treated as a partner in the process, and that will absolutely influence where we go in the future. Warm office, but a cold and impersonal experience where it mattered most.

I inspected the crown and it didn't look damaged. (Props to my former work friend's husband. Not a former friend, just a friend who is now retired. Anyway, her husband created the crown). Luckily, they were able to cement the crown back on, and I just have to lay off the hot bevs, crispy crunchies, and sticky caramels for 24 hours. One of the first things that Dr Gary has told me before was that you should never go to a dentist that personally does the teeth cleanings themself. The hygienist should be the one taking care of that because it's specialized. This office has a great staff who are always kind and welcoming, they know my family by name and always ask about how we're doing. They take the time to get to know you, not just take care of your teeth. I like the personalized experience. They recently updated their imaging equipment to digital decreasing the radiation exposure by half of the standard machines (I guess they listen because when I first started with them years ago - I told them I really didn't want to get zapped by radiation so often - so if they could make do with the existing x-rays from my dental record transfer). The digital scan revealed some wear and decay on a tooth that my previous dentist filled - but never showed up on lower resolution scans before. We cleared that up on the next visit a week later - quick and fast and without pain. My experience has always been good with this practice - they are professionals, personable and welcoming.
