Mykonos in Sunny Isles is a true hidden gem! It's a beautiful Greek restaurant with a wonderful touch of fusion. The moment we passed the host desk, the bartender greeted us with a warm, welcoming smile. The space is incredibly spacious, offering bar seating, plenty of indoor tables, and a gorgeous back patio overlooking the Miami Intracoastal. Most guests chose to sit outside to watch the stunning colors of the sunset, all while enjoying a fantastic live performance by a female vocalist. ​We decided to sit at the bar, where the manager and one of the owners both greeted us with big smiles. They took the time to chat and ensure we were having a great experience--it's so refreshing to see leadership that genuinely cares about their guests. ​Since we were at the bar, our bartender, Jhonathan, took care of us. He was absolutely amazing--funny, attentive, and offered great recommendations for both dinner and dessert. Even while managing our service, he was a total one-man show, seamlessly crafting drinks for the entire restaurant. My friends tried his cocktails and confirmed they were phenomenal. ​For my meal, I chose the Ceviche Gobernador. Because of my allergies, I asked if it could be made with just fish, and the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate. It did not disappoint! Honestly, it was one of the best ceviches I've had in a very long time--truly delicious, perfectly balanced, and bursting with flavors that woke up every taste bud. I literally wanted to lick the bowl! I even went to compliment Chef Miguel, who was incredibly friendly and clearly a master of his craft. ​For dessert, I trusted Jhonathan's advice and tried the Bougatsa me Crema. I'm usually not a fan of custard, but this was entirely different. This restaurant was really cute. When we first arrived I was a bit skeptical but as soon as you walk in, it is cute. We had a standard reservation but they sat us outside. For a Saturday night, they were not busy at all. We had the shrimp to start which was just ok. I ordered the beef kabobs which were good and flavorful. Overall, the atmosphere was good. Our waitress wasn't friendly and seemed annoyed but thankfully we didn't let it ruin our experience. We didn't expect this place to have such good food given the fact that their location: usually, a place has either good view or good food. I visited last week for a friend's birthday and the food is amazing with beautiful views and the aesthetics and ambiance is handcrafted and gorgeous! It was not busy at all and the server was attentive. There were minor issues with our food and mostly we didn't have room for all the food we ordered and of course, traditional Greek birthday tradition of smashing a plate. I feel this may be a tricky location for business but it is easily found with options for valet and parking lot right next door. We went on a Saturday night with a reservation. When we arrived, I thought the restaurant was empty as the inside was empty. Originally we requested an inside table and they did not honor our request as they sat us outside. We immediately noticed that they were understaffed as we saw that the same person that brought out the food was also clearing the tables, there were only two servers, and what seemed to be the manager was hosting and taking food orders. I would not recommend this place. We came across this restaurant while walking back to the car from Gateway Park Market. We walk in and were advised we needed a reservation in order to eat there despite the inside portion of the place being empty, lol. Luckily someone else who worked there came up and greeted us and advised we didn't need a reservation and ended up taking us to a table in the outdoor portion of the restaurant. Still don't understand why the first person you come across tells you that a reservation is needed when there was clearly many empty tables..... waitress also didn't even know they served the Greek beer, Mythos, despite asking another waiter and it being on the menu?! I went last night for dinner with my family and we completely enjoyed it since the first moment we walked in, everybody were so friendly. The environment was fabulous, nice music, beautiful place. Nice location on the beach- outside dining is fun with a DJ. Food needs improvement, meat and chicken was not so good but salads were great. Took a while for the food to come, we were probably waiting about 25 minutes until the salads arrived and 30 more minutes for the meat and entrees to arrive. The outside portion of the restaurant was packed but inside was not even a quarter full. Place is really nice and pretty, and great for appetizers and drinks. Yes, this is a beautiful spot, that is plagued by tiny over priced portions of decidedly mediocre Greek food likely purchased from the Winn Dixie down the road (the tablespoon of hummus we received was definitely the most we've ever paid for Sabra). Food aside - that leaves the service. What is there to say other than a member of our party cut her foot on a broken glass under the table that the staff didn't bother to clean up; before, during, or after. And there was a lot of blood - can't imagine that's up to code. Like I said the spot is lovely, but you know what else is? Sea Grill across the street, same food ambiance- better food. Less dancing on broken glass. That said, pretty sure you can get better quality food at McDonald's, but that's too harsh to McDonald's. Patronize this mess at your own risk. We were at this restaurant to celebrate New Year's. Prior to making reservations they told us that it's going to be $500 a person everything included ( service fee and taxes unlimited alcohol and food and new year show with fireworks). At the time when my friend was making the reservation he was told to do it as soon as possible, because they will run out of space. Sounds expansive, but we were assured that we will be treated as VIPs and our party of 6 went for it. The management suggested we come in for 8pm. Sounded a little early so we showed up around 8:30-8:45. First obstacle we endured was the valet service. They just bluntly said: we had no more room. There's no street parking around the restaurant at all and no stopping signs along the street. I had to go into the restaurant, get the owner and the owner after good 15 minutes argument got the valet to park my car. We finally went into the restaurant and were greeted by owner wife who said just have a drink and you'll be good. In today's world it is highly unprofessional and borderline harassment. The appetizer spread was along the bar and other than little sandwich with lox and hard boiled eggs there were nothing that could be considered VIP. We expected for the kind of money they were charging us , at least red caviar and something better. As we walked into the restaurant main room we saw people just having casual dinner and not dressed for the occasion. The wife of the owner said: don't worry, they will be leaving soon and more Russians will come and we will have our Russian party. We went to our table which was already served with types of food that are called appetizers in any other Greek restaurant. So in a scope of 3 hours between 9 and 12 the only thing that were brought to our table was octopus. About entertainment. The DJ leaves a lot to be desired. He has absolutely no feel for whom he's playing the music for and probably repeated his playlist 3 or more times over the course of the night. Belly dancer was extremely low quality and felt like she's doing it for the first time. The "so called show" were two young ladies that were dressed in extremely cheap looking outfits and were dancing in the middle of the restaurant, but we couldn't call it "show". So finally came time to ring in the New Year. We all were invited to go outside and were told that champagne will be served and fireworks will be shown. This was probably the only good thing we experienced, fireworks. BUT!!!. Prosecco is not Champagne. After midnight it took another 40 minutes to bring main course to the table. This food was at best mediocre and lukewarm. Now it came time for me to pay. One of the waiters came to me and was trying to charge me $1250 for two people, when we were told by the owner $500 all inclusive. Obviously I went to the owner and he had to argue with waiters for a good half an hour until I finally got charged $1000. After all that we waited another half an hour, mind you it is 1:30 in the morning, to get dessert and coffee. That was it . I'm sorry, maybe I expected too much, but New Year's Eve is very important for me, my family and my friends. So now we went to ever favorite valet to retrieve our cars. It only took 35 minutes to get into the car and leave. What I'd like to add, this restaurant is far from first class restaurant, it's extremely far from a good Greek restaurant. The owners are Russian and the staff is mostly Colombian, so don't expect Greek hospitality and authentic Greek food. By the way, about restaurant running out of space, through out the night they were maybe at 50-60% capacity and around midnight it went down to 25-30%. It wasn't celebration atmosphere it wasn't VIP, it was disappointing. I certainly feel that we were taken advantage of in hopes that we would have a good celebration, but it wasn't the case. Next year we'll be doing deeper and better research. Useless to say we'll never set foot in that restaurant and for people that are thinking of going there, think twice. read more

While the food was delicious and the setting beautiful, I can't recommend this restaurant. There are billing issues- lots of them! On our first visit, we were charged for two BOTTLES of sparkling wine, instead of the two glasses we had. Mistakes can happen. On our second visit with our family, the bill was significantly higher than we expected so we looked at the charges for each item. While the items -most but not all- were ones we ordered, too many were not the same as on the menu. It's one thing if the prices are different than what is on their website but to have different prices than what is on the menu is not something we have come across before. When we brought it up, we were told that we must've gotten old menus instead of the new ones. But since there were six of us, it seemed strange that we all got "old menus" so we asked to see the new menus. Our server told us they were inside, as we were sitting on the patio, we asked our server to please get one from inside. He left and came back five minutes later, but did not have a menu. He then said that it was only a dollar here and there. In fact, some items (which we multiple servings) were $4 more. One dish, wish they did not have, even though we were told it would not be on the bill was indeed on the bill. At our first visit, we did not look at the price of each item, but simply at whether the item was correct. We actually never do look at the actual price, only if the item is correct. Well, Mykonos changed that for us. A few minutes later, they came out with a corrected bill, but they made us feel as though we were being cheap. But after adding it all up together with the taxes and the service charge, which was automatically included, it was more like $50.
