I can't believe I just found out about this place a few months ago. This is definitely the type of restaurant you can go to for a special occasion. I was here for NYE with my family and we were not disappointed. Everything was really good and service was great. My favorite part is the ambiance of the restaurant. There is no where I can begin on saying how much fun I had at MyMoon for my wedding this past weekend. Ruggero and his staff was so attentive and caring as if one of their own was getting married. They made the day go on without a hitch. Ruggero and the staff went around asking people how they were doing and if they needed anything. I was shocked, but at the same time I can say I am not. I cannot count the number of times I got a compliment on how nice the place was and how GREAT the food was. If you are looking for something that is cozy, unique this is your place. The atmosphere is incredible when you walk in you feel like you've entered a secret gem. The decor on the inside is breathtaking and the seating and lighting on the outside can make anyone fall in love. The passionfruit sangria was yummy. However the service was mediocre. Our waiter was whispering the whole time and didnt know how to assert himself or smile. He had no personality at all. My date said his food was okay but the paella was the worst paella I ever had. They under cooked the rice so much so that I was having difficulty chewing it. When I expressed my concern to the waiter he stated, "this is how we make paella here." Even with all that I loved the venue so much I would definitely return but just for drinks. read more

I have been going to MyMoon for 2 years now.. I think that says a lot right there... to go anywhere over and over again for the drinks, food, atmosphere, the staff, etc.. is monumental and especially in place like Willyburg where the choices seem endless. Whether be for drinks alone, drinks and bites or full blown dinner... i have tried it all. I have never been disappointed and to the contrary.. extremely satisfied!! I have brought many, many people and everyone is always impressed. For a place that has been in the area for close to 10 years now, it still seems like a hidden gem. Came here for bday dinner last month. Everything was perfect! The ambiance in this place is incredible and the service they provide is really impressive. They were very accommodating all throughout the coordination process for our party of 12, flexible on the prix fixe menu and all. Our wedding at MyMoon was amazing, and exactly what we hoped for. The ceremony was beautiful outside and accommodated our guest list of over 140 people. The food was also really good, and we loved the family style option so people could sample multiple dishes. One thing to be aware of is that they can be strict on the timing. We paid for a 5 hour open bar but our ceremony got a 30min late start due to our shuttle getting stuck in traffic. I asked for the end of the party to be pushed back 30 minutes but they did not allow it. I understand they need to run a tight schedule but it would have been nice if they were a bit more flexible for us! It would have been nice to have an extra 30 minutes for our night. read more

Weeell... Nice place to sit; high ceilings eat up the noise otherwise typical of New York dining experiences. Starters quite decent: tuna especially. However the entrees, chicken and hake weren't up to much. When everything in your plate is so tender, the overall impression is of warmed baby food. The flesh and veg all blur into the same samey textures. Pretty to look at but after that first bite with the eye there's not much bite left for the tooth. read more

It is slightly difficult to find as the area is filled with industrial abandoned warehouses and such .... but this place really is a hidden gem. High ceilings, ambiant mood lighting, incredible decor and artwork as well as an open intimate floor space. Im not sure about the whole story behind this place. I think it was once an old water tower/warehouse which was converted to a restaraunt but restored to preserve the industrial elements. The bartender had explained the whole story to me but at that particular time the drinks were just kicking in and too strong to really put together. Do try the specialty drinks on the menu . . they are quite pricy but are really strong and taste incredible. The food is mostly turkisk/medditeranean fare. I reccomend trying the appetizer dishes as mostly all of them are really excellent. Dont forget to ask for the turkish bread it's amazing. If you have a large group it is reccomended to have reservations as they seem to have difficulty seating large groups without one. It's a great place when you want to have a night out and not feel like your surrounded by everything that is New York City. **Hint - Come in the summer and ask for one of the table canopys outside in the open-aire courtyard. it's a great place/atmosphere to enjoy the summer weather and have a drink with a date or a group of friends. read more

Good place to meet up with friends who live along the L train line. They don't ask for prix fixe if you're 8 people, like some places in Manhattan. Interior looks cool, but we prefer sitting outside, weather permitting. Mosquitoes were bad last time, though. Food is good. Tuna Tartar, salads, grilled fish. Service is okay - depends on the guy waiting on you. I like that they have Turkish wines, some of which are really good. read more

My wife and I recently got married at MyMoon and it was a wonderful experience. The manager, Kenan, and his crew made everything easy, and they genuinely care about make your special day amazing. All of our guests loved the space including the beautiful upper patio used for the ceremony, the spacious lower patio used for the cocktail hour, and the great indoor space for dinner and dancing. And the food was excellent (I finished my plate which is not easy for the groom, but it was that good!). This is a great wedding venue for couples that want all the ease of a place that knows how to do events, without the wedding factory quality of a classic event hall. read more

What a beautiful space! Indoors & out. It wasn't hopping on the week night that I went, but a great bartender fixed some delicious drinks for me. Ask for a strawberry and basil gimlet--it will not disappoint. Even though it sparked a very bad allergic reaction for me (yes, I am allergic to strawberries, so it's pretty much all my fault), it was one of the best drinks I've had. They have a great top shelf liquor selection at reasonable prices. I got there after the kitchen closed, but the menu looked really good. Plus, Turkish people rock, so the fact that it's Turkish-owned is a big plus. I'll definitely be back, with friends, to sample the food. read more

I've only been once, on a weekday about an hour or two before closing, so it was only a handful of people there. I enjoyed the ambiance more than anything else here. I had a few drinks at the bar + the tuna tartar (it's ok if that's what you're in to). A girl friend brought me here after dinner so we could continue to chat, and catch up. I must admit, while there, I spent a great amount of time thinking about how great it would be to come again -with a date..because this is a great place to have intimate conversations and look hot in the candlelight lol. read more

This place is gorgeous and delicious. To start, I dont know how they made this place. I sit and eat delicious tapas with my husband and wonder how they heck they found and mounted these massive Game of Throne-sey artifacts. Not cheesy though, somehow. And then theres the food. Order: patatas bravas, croquettes, anything really. Food is cooked to perfection and adorned with care. You cant go wrong. We go here about once a month. And they staff is friendly and listens. Everything at MyMoon was beyond our expectations (which were high) - Ruggero was extremely helpful, responsive, organized and friendly; the space is unbelievably gorgeous - both inside and outside; the food was absolutely delicious (our guests continue to bring it up when we see them); overall, everything went so smoothly that we able to relax and really enjoy the experience, thanks to Ruggero and the wonderful staff. First of all, the most important thing: the food. Horrible. Seriously over-priced kids' meals. The presentation on the plate wasn't even nice. Then there's the service. Wow. I suppose the one good thing I can say is that it was truly entertaining to watch in awe... the mixture of total disregard and inexperience. At one point the manager even came up and asked how everything was; we very politely said that we were having trouble getting helped, and his reply was: "Well, at least the food is good. that's what counts, right?" and proceeded to walk away. haha. Great stuff. The atmosphere is cliche Williamsburg: very trendy and cold feeling. Plus there's a huge communal picnic table that you have to eat at when there aren't any normal tables left. Tapas with great cocktails. You can't really go wrong with the cocktails. I had a strawberry basil gimlet (super delicious...totally recommend this sucker!). We got a few tapas items: octopus (get this!), lamb skewers, and tuna carpacccio (-like dish). All of it was delicious. But my fav, by far, was the Mediterranean octopus. It was made so perfectly delicious...then the tuna. We sat outside. It's a very nice open atmosphere. Though there's a ton of space, it can still seem cozy. read more

The side room was the ideal setting for a surprise 50th birthday party. We arrived at 6:30pm and quickly found the rest of our party. Tucked away, friends and family eagerly awaited the unsuspecting victim... I mean... birthday girl who arrived around 7:00pm. The staff was attentive and friendly (as long as you didn't actually go into the coat check room, which was awkwardly situated on the other side of the kitchen door). Cute little menus gave us each the option of choosing 1 appetizer (choice of 3), 1 main course (choice of 3), and 1 dessert (choice of 2). After our lady of the hour arrived, we waited nearly another hour and a half to two hours to get our mediocre food that arrived at different times. My appetizer was the calamari, which was decent. By the time I devoured it (I didn't expect to wait nearly 2 hours for it), other people at the table were just beginning to get their eggplant cannelloni. I tried to wait, but when you're so hungry, the most polite thing you can do is offer everyone a taste of your appetizer while you're in between bites. At least I made sure I swallowed my food before I offered, if my mouth was full then that would have been unforgivably poor etiquette, right? So, they finally got their appetizers and when they offered a reciprocal taste to me, I had to decline. Their descriptions did not leave much to be desired ("I don't know if I like it or not, but I feel compelled to eat it, and by the time you get to the last bite you think you want more, it kind of grows on you."). Well... after appetizers, we had our main course. Mine was the salmon (light pink, dry, fishy, slightly overcooked, perhaps prefrozen?). Other people at the table had a paella that they seemed to like. Lastly was desert. Some of the party had what the waitress called a "creme brulee" but the menu described as a cream something. The people who sat around me were absolutely disappointed by this. I had the chocolate soufflé, which I imagined to be some type of chocolate mousse, but in actuality, it was one of those small chocolate cakes that have a bunch of warm melty chocolate when you cut into it. I normally am disappointed by those things, but compared to the faux creme brulee, I was happy with my choice. Don't get me wrong by this description, nothing was BAD. The flavors were just underwhelming. I assume it's challenging to cook for a large group (30 or so) at the same exact time and it was overall a fun night. read more

Food is extremely overpriced for the quantity - I ordered the ravioli and only received 5 pieces in the plate. If it weren't for the bread I ate before the meal, I might've still been hungry after! The tapas & desserts here were fantastic. I really enjoyed the intimate outdoor tables - you can smoke without annoying your neighbors. It's not even *that* expensive for a night out. I come here often with my girlfriends this place has the best white sangria I have ever tried!!! Good service, however food is mediocre.... The steak was good, babaganush was good, fried Calimari was average, foie gras is ok and eggplant with goat cheese was nothing to write home about. For dessert The Chocolate Pistachios raspberries and mandarin cake was pretty good, the Baklava was average( i ve def Had better) The atmosphere is however awesome, especially in the summer when they have outdoor seating. Oh...my....goodness! I had a fantastic time at My Moon! Granted, all of my drinks and food were free (teacher's social). but they had the best Sangria, Martinis, Cosmos, everything!!! Not only that but the food was to die for! I never had raw tuna, or any fish for that matter, and I thought I wouldn't like it. But when I took a bit I was sent to Cloud 9. High ceilings, reminiscent of Buddha Bar, with a non-western, can't quite place it not quite Turkish exactly but still unusual, somewhat Mediterranean exotic vibe meets retooled Williamsburg postindustrial postmodernism. When I went the service was actually quite attentive and friendly, with the caveat that our server didn't know how to pronounce Merlot (he called it mer-lottt) and did not know the difference between rib eye and filet mignon. Servers smile and speak limited English and are not the same as the waiter/waitresses. If you are open to other cultures this should not bother you, and since you are willing to venture into Williamsburg this will most likely make for a fun evening. read more

I was quite excited to check out this place since I've heard alot about it and was soo disappointed by the food and steep prcies. The salmon was apparently too salty and my chicken kebab was dry and boring. Drinks were overpriced, too. I guess you are paying for the ambiance but the food could be just a little better. how can i not review my fave restaurant in williamsburg! :) this place is greatttt... i mean u can go on a first date(and be impressed, or impress!) go out with the girls... and even take your mom and dad and they will think is trendy! Ate here w a good friend. Atmosphere and decor was the best! Can't say enough about how wonderful it feels to have space while you feast! The ceilings must be at least 40 feet high! The old water tower tanks that they use for booths are amazing. I took my parents here when they visited specifically to show them this. The service is always the best. I felt totally taken care of and if anything, adored by all the staff, from the attentive manager, to the busser, to the beautiful bartender! Her drinks knocked us out! Strawberries or mint in any summer cocktail is so refreshing in summer! Now the food: A+ I went with someone that was veggie and we both had excellent options and were able to share many dishes. Beware thou. The olive topenade bread is so addictingly good, one can not stop eating it before your main meal arrives! The special Turkish salad was super fresh and crisp! The feta stuffed pastries were also a naughty yummy party on my palate. The Cous cous is perfect in lightness and taste. My favorite main course so far is the lamb shank. Desert was fantastic as well, although by then my friend was stuffed, so I ate most of it! Yeah! Def worth the $ and time to have a good meal here. read more
