So my girlfriend is addicted to Ole Smoky Moonshine. We were riding through Gatlinburg, I usually won't even stop here because they are one of the most unfriendly cities for motorcyclists. They won't even let you park in most of their garages and if they do, they want you to pay $20 per bike (same as a car) but put all the bikes up to four in one spot. This is completely unfair to us. That being said, we tried to find in town parking but struck out so we parked outside of town and walked in so we could do a tour of Ole Smoky which is great by the way! They have a couple spots so we were walking over to the second location from the first when I spotted Myron Mixon's Restaurant on the walk..I had no idea it was here. I wasn't even hungry...but being a huge fan I had to stop and get some legendary barbecue. I was prepared to bust my gut for this place. Did you know that Myron is the most winning barbecue pit master in all of competition barbecue?? I did. And while I don't expect competition style barbecue at a restaurant I had high expectations of this place and I was not let down. I got the three meat pit master combo which was $28. It came with pork belly. I added brisket for $6 and a bone beef rib (Dino) for $18. I got sweet potato and creamed corn as a side. Arianna R was our server and she was spectacular! On top of her game, constantly checking in on us, never letting our drinks run dry. The food was simply amazing. I hate Gatlinburg. I would never come to this city to vacation or visit on purpose. But if I was driving or riding through, 100% of the time I am going to stop and eat here. It is really worth it especially if you love barbecue. The pork belly just melted in your mouth with that sweet squishy caramelized fat flavor explosion that it should be. Definitely get it 10/10. The brisket was juicy, had tons of flavor from the bark, a good smoke ring that you could taste, and just the right ratio of fat to meat. 10/10. Now...the Dino rib...holy crap. These are hard to find at restaurants. Even more difficult is finding good ones. This one blew me away. It's like a steak but it melts in your freaking mouth. Smokey flavor, perfect amount of fat, and it just came right off the bone but stayed firm. 15/10!! Worth the extra $18 (these things are usually $35 by themselves at other places). I don't know how they made this cream corn but I need to find out. It was the best cream corn I've ever had. The sweet potato was like a dessert. GF and I shared this meal and we should have not ordered dessert but we had to. She is gluten free and everything we had was gluten free. We got the apple cobbler with ice cream for dessert and it put us over the top. Being from Texas, we know good BBQ, so we don't give that compliment lightly. My wife and I stopped in for the first time on Monday night, December 8, 2025. We're big fans of barbecue, and this place did not disappoint. The menu offered an excellent selection, and we decided to split a three-meat platter with brisket, pulled chicken, and smoked wings. This is located almost directly across the road from the chair lift, Gatlinburg Sky Park, so it's a busy section of town. It's upstairs, so enter from the street and immediately go up the stairs. We went for a late lunch/early dinner, so the crowd was thin (just the way we like it). Soon as we were seated in our booth, a girl asked if she could take our picture. We were both so stunned, we just kinda said "ok", but I was wondering "why is this person taking our picture?" It got worse - she asked us to do different poses and kiss each other on the cheek. From a socially anxious perspective, I was sweating by this point. Later she returned with copies of our pictures, offering to sell them for 2 for $25. We bought them because "vacation" but I was so not prepared to have my picture made! Things looked up after the initial awkwardness. We both did the 2 meats + 2 sides: brisket and smoked turkey and our sides were fried okra, baked potato, Mac n cheese, and fries. SO. GOOD. We had such a good lunch on our first day that we came back on our last day in Pigeon Forge and enjoyed this joint again! Gatlinburg is a short drive south from Pigeon Forge. My wife enjoyed the pulled chicken sandwich with peach bbq beans and slaw. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and peach bbq beans. All was amazing. Got the three meat with two sides and upgraded to the ribs for one of the items. The burnt ends, chicken wings and ribs were all really good. The baked beans was really good. The potato salad was also good. Not happy about not having Texas Toast anymore. Three little hush puppies aren't the same as a good slice of Texas Toast. It is a little pricey for the amount of food that you get. Indoor and outdoor seating. It's upstairs but there is an elevator but there wasn't anyone downstairs to help operate it. They charged me $1 for extra butter for my baked potato. It wouldn't have been a problem but it tasted like the baked potato had been sitting around all day. I've been coming to Gatlinburg since childhood and I don't think I've ever experienced service this bad. I gave it two stars because the food was decent. The meat wasn't the best bbq that I've had but it certainly was not among the worst. The wait time for the food was horribly long. We were sat at our table fairly quickly and the restaurant seemed to be bustling with people but the servers were moving quickly so we didn't think much of it. However, we should've known that the experience was doomed from the start. As soon as our server asked about drinks, it started. I asked for a strawberry lemonade, she said "no, you can't have that." I laughed thinking she was joking, she stared at me. I waited for a follow up statement, none came. After asking follow up questions, she told me they didn't have any lemonade. Moving down the table she finished taking the orders. When she came back with the drinks half of them were wrong. She also brought a coke for someone who ordered a sprite because they were out. The person told her she didn't want the coke, she proceeded to offer her lemonade...which prompted me to inquire about how they suddenly acquired lemonade they were out of 10 mins ago. After much confusion, we decided to just order. When the food arrived...the orders were wrong. Sides were switched, sauces weren't labeled, special instructions skipped. It took over 40 mins to get everything corrected. When the checks came...you guessed it, they were also wrong! The whole ordeal left us all frustrated and ready to go home. This is also a restaurant that will nickel and dime you. They charge extra for bbq sauce and butter. I would absolutely not recommend going here. read more

As we wondered around the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area, we found the perfect time to stop in. It was a late lunch-early dinner situation where there weren't many people in the restaurant which was great we thought! It was very clean inside and the workers were all busy with various tasks. They were all very kind in welcoming us in and letting us take our time reading the menu. There was a girl on the street at the door handing out coupons which had a coupon for us to get a free Tumbleweed Onion. That was super cool! My husband has been really into smoking meat lately, so this was definitely on his list of things to try! We both ended up with hefty trays of meats and sides. I enjoyed the mac and cheese and pulled pork. The bbq peach baked beans are definitely interesting with the peaches in them, but they were good. The meats were all pretty good. My wife and I were in Pigeon Forge on business and I found out that Myron Mixon opened this new restaurant 15 minutes down the road from our hotel in Gatlinburg. I've watched Myron on TV and read his books for years, so we had to go. When we got there, we had to walk up a flight of stairs to actually get into the restaurant. Be aware, it's a long staircase to get up there, and there is no elevator. The restaurant itself is very nice. All wood decor and they had some nice country music playing. It's a very nice atmosphere. Our waitress Aylin was great. Very attentive. We ordered the 3 meat Pit Masters Platter. You have your choice of a quarter chicken, chicken wings, jalapeño cheddar sausage, pulled pork, or smoked beef aka bologna. This platter is $27 and comes with two sides. Now here's the catch. For a $3 upcharge you can get brisket, or baby back ribs. For a $9 upcharge, you can get a beef rib. Now of course I wanted the brisket and the beef rib and my wife wanted the baby backs. The sides we got was the bbq peach baked beans and the roasted sweet potato. First, the brisket was amazing! I got a mix of lean and moist brisket. The lean brisket are the slices that come from the flat. The moist comes from the point. This has more fat which makes it more moist. Both selections were awesome. Great smokey flavor with a nice bark. My wife had the ribs. They were very tender and again, these had a nice smokey flavor with a light coating of a very flavorful bbq sauce. The beef rib looked absolutely amazing. It had a great bark and was very tender. For my first bite, I took my fork and got some meat and a nice chunk of the bark. As soon as I took a bite, I spit it out. That perfect looking bark was nothing but salt. I'm sorry but it was horrible. It was like the salt was concentrated. On to my second bite. I scraped off the bark and took a nice chunk of meat and this time I just took a small piece of the bark. Now the beef rib was amazing! The perfectly tender meat with just that little bit of bark was great. Perfect smokey taste. Just beware of all that salt. Now for the sides. I see a lot of the reviews talk bad about the beans. "They are too sweet " etc. People, it's right in the name of the beans. BBQ PEACH BAKED BEANS. There are peaches in the beans. These are not the typical beans in tomato sauce and covered in brown sugar and molasses. Myron Mixon is from Georgia, The Peach State. Have an open mind. These beans are actually really good. Give them a try. The roasted sweet potato comes with a cinnamon butter and a maple glaze. My wife doesn't like the taste of maple so we had the maple glaze put on the side. Good thing. The sweet potato with the cinnamon butter was very good. I tried the maple glaze on it and it just didn't go together. The glaze is more like a glaze you would put on a donut. It's good, just not on the sweet potato. I had more to say but yelp said my review was too long and wouldn't post it. All in all, Myron Mixon Barbecue Company is pretty awesome! With a couple minor adjustments I made to my own plate, it was really great. We will definitely be back our next trip to Pigeon Forge. read more

I had the three meat plate and the website showed large portions. So me and the hubby decided to share this. When the food came out we had 3 pieces of burnt ends, one slice of brisket and three ribs. Two sides Mac and cheese and load tater salad. When I saw the portions I was really shocked and was like this doesn't match the pictures. The wait time was long also. But I knew bbq can't be rushed. When we got our bill it was $91.00, plus a customer service charge, like wth is this for. I paid with cash. That's the 3 meat plate with up charges for brisket, ribs and Mac and cheese. One beer and one margarita. Can you imagine if we would've order two plates. Do not come here if your own a budget and not wanting to splurge for mediocre BBQ. Was expecting more for the 5 time bbq champion. The place wasn't too busy but I did notice another table having issues with their bill as well. Maybe they need to train the servers better to answer any and all questions they may have.
