The smoked sausage is seasoned after it's smoked and hits with a little heat, but not too much. Overall, pretty decent value and great tasting meal. We'd return if back in the area. Oh, and it's off the main path of Pigeon Forge, so not too busy either. I would have given 5 stars if the window seat we sat at had been wiped clean. We both ate about half of the sandwich and then switched so we could try each others. Both were very good. We dined in so there were sauces on the tables. One was a sweet type sauce and the other was a mustard/vinegar type sauce flavor. We liked both of them. Meat had the right amount of smoke, wasn't over powering. Many dined, and they left delighted! A little rearranging on the patio led to a a long table, seating 11 hungry folks of all ages. The menu was varied from chicken tenders to, brisket, dumplings, ribs, pulled pork and catfish. The young and the old all left happy and very full. The brisket was of particular note among dinners as was the less expected, but equally enjoyed delight of 3 catfish fillets, well fried and seasoned. Nearly every side dish was sampled by this crew, with the Mac and cheese, collard greens and baked beans all receiving positive chatter. Forks could be seen passed around, sharing tastes of yummy bites as those involved shared their gastric enthusiasm. The notable loser among the bunch was reported as the green beans. One diner was quoted as saying, "Well, those were entirely tasteless. Better add a whole lot of salt and some bbq sauce or just walk them back up to the counter." The pulled pork sandwich was good, my husband ordered pulled pork to go, we heated the pork up in our toaster oven the following two days and it was delicious. For sides we had baked beans. Slaw, Mac n cheese, and dumplings. Crowed ranking was unanimous that the dumplings were excellent! I loved the baked beans. We ordered the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese, brisket with fries and cole slaw, sausage with green beans and many other side dishes. I'll start with what went right, it's a significantly shorter list. My son's chicken tenders were actual chicken breast tenderloins, not the processed chicken we see so often nowadays. The mash potatoes and gravy paired together very nicely, wish I had ordered the bigger portion. The sausage link was also not bad. Now for the cons, my brother in law ordered the chicken sandwich, he received a pulled pork... significant mix up I'd say. The Mac and cheese was "Kraft Velveeta" standards at best, and I was disappointed in myself for ordering a large. Our ribs were very tender I must say, but that could also have been from the 1:1 fat to meat ratio. They were out of brisket, on a Sunday afternoon... the sausage link sandwich was also a disappointment in that they just put sausage on a bun, no condiments, pickles, not even a little coleslaw on top. Just a dry bun with meat, I'm not trying to be unreasonable but for what they charge I think they can do better. Lastly I'll comment on the establishment. Upon arrival you'll notice just how compact the setting is. There's not much room to sit, and considering the proximity of the exits to the front counter it doesn't allow for much space to maneuver around. I'm not in the business of restaurant design, but maybe putting the front counter significantly away from the entry/exit doors would alleviate the congestion. read more

The sides include fries, baked beans, green beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens. We ordered the chicken and sausage sandwiches with fries, collards, and macaroni and cheese. The meats were very flavorful and of the sides, we both agreed that the collard greens were the best we had ever had. The portions were generous and the prices were fair. After going on the smokey alpine coaster in Tennessee, we went to Boss Hogg's BBQ for dinner and ordered the brisket sandwich ($18.99), and half chicken ($14.99). Both came with 2 sides, so I chose the fries and mac N cheese, while my friend got the mash potatoes and cole slaw. The brisket was very dry, so I had to drench every bite with Bogg BBQ sauce to save it. I don't like doing this because I like to enjoy the natural flavors of the meat, but it was too hard to swallow otherwise. The fries were very crispy with a soft interior. The texture felt like it was double fried, which was very good. The mac N cheese on the other hand was mushy and did not taste good. Ate 2 bites and did not want any more. My friend said her half chicken was a little moister, and sides tasted standard. When eating in you just pay in the front after ordering, sit anywhere and when your order is ready they will call your name and bring you your plate. The staff were young and nice.
