I really wanted to have a good experience with Ken Sporting Goods because we've used them for my…read moredaughter's letterman jacket since her freshman year, but unfortunately there have been problems almost every time. Her freshman year, they spelled her name wrong even though it was correct on the signed proof. They also put a patch on the wrong sleeve and told us we would have to pay for a new sleeve if we wanted it fixed, so we just left it. Now she's a senior, and I was told her senior year embroidery may not fit correctly because the spacing from the previous years was done wrong. We've also had rhinestones fall off within days and had to pay to replace them. The latest issue is what really pushed me to write this review. I was told her embroidery would take no more than two weeks, which would have had her jacket back right before Senior Night. I checked in and was then told it would be ready almost a week later, after Senior Night. The customer service throughout all of this has been disappointing and often rude. These jackets are a big deal to students and families, especially senior year, and I just don't feel like that is understood here. I have another child who is a freshman and already on varsity, and I will definitely be going somewhere else for his jacket.

She's so knowledgeable and patient. She examined my machine and really took the time to diagnose what could be going wrong with it. It turns out there was an obscene accumulation of lint in a spot behind the feed dog which I had overlooked. She taught me how to properly clean, test and maintain the machine. She also told me about which needles to best use depending on the material I'm sewing as well as helpful suggestions like the use of a walking foot for slippery fabrics. Helle is an experienced sewist who has extensive knowledge and represents Moore's with such polish. We lost Joann's fabrics not too long ago so it's crucial that our community has a business which supports the sewing community in the way Moore's does. Do sign up for sewing classes or bring your machine in for maintenance at Moore's. They are a valuable resource for adults and children. I and my son learned to sew because of them and it has freed us in ways I cannot enumerate. Be sure to ask for Helle if you have any specific sewing questions. I'm certain all the staff is marvelous but she is really awesome!

I normally take these things to Things Remembered but was disappointed to hear that they only embroider their own products. After a quick Google search, we found Color Stitches! The owner, Ernesto, took us in the back and went through all the different font styles for us. After picking one, he printed it out and let me place it on the apron exactly where I wanted it. After that, he turned on the machine and stitched away! He even let us watch the process in the back of the store. The best part is, it was only $12!
