On my mission to visit every brewery in the Jacksonville area, I finally made it to Green Room Brewing. My favorite beer was the strawberry lager. I also enjoyed the Mexican lager with lime and the blonde honey ale. Hubby enjoyed their roasted red and the double IPA. They had a nice selection of everything from IPAs to sours. The only thing I would note is they allow dogs inside and there was a ton of hair flying around. If you're not a dog person, this may not be the spot for you. read more

I stopped in for the first time last week. I'm a sour fan so I was happy to see a Watermelon Cranberry fruit on the bottom listed on tap. The bartender was very friendly & sincerely apologized that they were having an issue with the taps that delayed her from waiting on me for a while. She served me my sour but I didn't taste it immediately since I was taking a few pics. Before I took my first sip, a man who I'm guessing is the owner came up to the bar and made a comment to the bartender that the wrong sour was posted. He updated the menu to indicate the sour was actually a Mango Pineapple. No apology was offered for the mistake and I wasn't asked if I still wanted the sour despite it not being what I offered. I had already paid so I went ahead and drank what I was served. I wasn't a fan but honestly there is no guarantee that I would have loved the sour I ordered. Really cool brewery that seemed to be hidden in what I consider a little strip mall. Lots of great options on top and plenty of regulars (always a good sign). The Head High IPA was exactly what I was looking for- hoppy and piney. Happy Haze was a solid NE IPA. The girl working was attentive and quick- impressed for a crowded brewery. I peeked around the corner and big open area with picnic tables and ping pong. Definitely my type of spot for vacation beer. read more

Came to this brewery right before closing time. It's a great spot to chill especially if you're a local. Came in and was greeted by the bartender. Everyone there was super nice. I didn't really explore the place much since I just went straight to the bar, but it seemed pretty big, a chill place to hang. I tried some of their beers and ended up getting their hefeweizen. I wasn't too impressed with their beer, but they did have a nice selection. Again, the place was pretty chill and appeared like a local dive bar. I don't know if I would return just because I wasn't a fan of the beer but if invited, I'd definitely show up to hang out. I always enjoy visiting Green Room, and honestly time always flies by when I am there. 1 drink turns into 4, I always run into someone I know, and the plethora of dogs hanging out is always a blast. It's true beach bar #nojudgementzone kinda vibe. Whether solo, on a date, grabbing a drink pre date, or hanging with a ton of friends green room is a perfect watering hole. Always a nice array of beers which the staff is knowledgeable about, and usually theres a food truck there too. My brewery pet peeves are glasses that arent clean, glasses that smell like a dishwasher, and beer that isn't chilled to the right temperature. Luckily Green Room knows what they are doing and their glassware & beer is always on point & oh so refreshing. After writing this review I think I'll head back there this weekend :-) read more

This open brewery is a great place for a beer with a wide selection of IPA's and other styles of craft beers. They are dog friendly and human friendly lol. There is plenty of space to sit and enjoy your beer flight or pint pour. They do host game day viewing for all the local sport fans. There isn't a ton of parking on site but there is a lot of street parking available and walking distance from a parking lot. The bartenders here are very nice and attentive to all your alcohol and nonalcoholic needs. They do have a kitchen here that I have not yet tired but the locals tell me the food is great here. read more

If you show up at this place at 1:30 they'll turn you down even though they close in 30 minutes. The employees at this brewery are extremely rude and even if you're still in the building, they use swearwords to kick you out. This would be my local hangout if I was a local. Great craft beer brewed on-site plus guest beers. Amazing beer garden. Food truck with rad menu (candied bacon...come on). Games. Did I mention tasty beer? LOCATION AND GAMES: Very close to beach. You just need to cross a busy street. Grab a pint to cool off and play some arcade games, fuse all, ping pong, monster connect four or darts. BEER: Impressed by their beer selection. As a microbrewery, their selection rotates. They also host guest beers so the selection was LARGE. On our visit, the Honey Blonde was my favorite. The Reggae Sour was also fantastic (for those who like sour beers like me). BEER GARDEN: They have a great beer garden out front where you can sit outside when not too hot. It's fake turf, nothing classy but great hangout with patio lounge furniture and bar height seating. A good trailer serves up some yummy treats...including candied bacon. I was so tempted but we were headed out for dinner afterwards. read more

I live in Kansas City a mecca of craft breweries. I grew up during the craft brewery boom so I'm not stranger to craft beer. So when I say the Green Room has great craft beer, I mean it. I'm in JAX two to three weeks a year for work and I take as many of my coworkers there as I can to chat over beer. My favorites: Beerwatch Every Hazy Blueberry Hazy I love that you can buy any food you want on A1A and eat it in the Green Room. The owner encourages it. I recommend Beachside Seafood just down the street. By far my favorite thing about the green room aside from the beer is the regulars. It seems like the GR has a cult like following. I see the same people there on the regular. They all know each other, it's like Cheers. It's dog friendly so there are furry friends every time I visit. Trivia night is packed but outdoor seating is typically available. read more

My wife and I got to try out this awesome place a week ago. The beers are really really good and they have a large selection. The place is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Really nice atmosphere and the service is awesome. Their beers rotate so you get to try a bunch of different ones, but they do have six or seven permanent ones which they listed on their website. They allow you to bring food in as they sometimes have a food truck, but not always. Highly recommend. read more

This was one of the first Jacksonville breweries we tried when first moving to Jax- and it took a long time for us to return. John is the beer guy and I am usually the DD on those occasions because I have no taste for beer. BUT~ I do enjoy cider and I was in luck the last time we were in- they had a cider on tap and I was able to try a sample before buying. Another oddity- I can't seem to drink a pint of cider. Like ever. I can only do short pours. But they were very accommodating and of course- John thoroughly enjoyed his flight. Besides the obvious beer selection- they are very dog friendly, family friendly and just a casual place to hang out. They even have a food truck built in with a deck right out from. The roaming dogs pissing on the floors, drunks shouting nonsense and overpriced warm beer makes me want to just stay home. Sweet little brewery within walking distance of our hotel. There was only one lady working, but she was holding it down like a champ. We were surprised to see that we stumbled upon a trivia night going down and wish we had known to show up sooner to participate because we were unofficially doing extremely well. They had an Empire Strikes Back and Led Zepplin pinball machine, the biggest giant Connect Four we've ever seen out of all the giant ones we've seen, 2 dart boards, a shelf of quite a few board games and a ping pong table where some retired looking gentleman named Rooster was showing thr young pups how it's done. As it's my favorite kind of beer, I tried their sour, which unfortunately was a rotating flavor. It was good, but I don't like when a place has a rotating sour instead of making it permanent. My wife got the Boom Shaka Lager off the strength of the name, she said it was alright. We only had 1 each and then had to rush off to get dinner. All in all, it was definitely a spot we would hang out at if we lived in Jacksonville. read more

After ocean-view dining at Southern Kitchen and unexpectedly crashing a wedding reception at the Casa Marina, we found ourselves "boarding" flights at the Green Room Brewing. This bar reminds me of Sidecar (minus) V-Pizza, hence the BYOF (bring your own food) environment. However, they only serve beer, tap, and wine. During our visit, we sampled the (blonde) Diamond, (pale ale) Pablo Beach, (wheat) Tang Clan, and the (stout) Count Shakula. In addition to the amazing tunes from a one-man band (artist unknown;) amazing conversations with patrons; and playing adult-size games such as Jenga, connect four, and ping-pong.... This is what I call pre-hurricane partying. The staff was awesome, knowledgeable of brews served, and the bar appeared clean. They are also dog friendly as long as if your dog is friendly and on a leash. read more

Have had multiple issues with this place I've tried to overlook because it's a two minute walk from my house, but I'm done now. Bought about $70 worth of canned beers here. More than ten of the $6 cans exploded, in inconvenient places of course like all in my cabinets, fridge, etc. I notified the brewery to which I was told that was my fault for keeping them at room temp, that they always had to stay in the fridge. I store beer from the store in room temp with no issue, I have beers from Southern Swells at room temp with no issues. I gave them a chance to care and they didn't so that's that. Otherwise, the beer is pretty inferior to a lot of other breweries within a mile radius, check those out alternatively. No masks, no cleaning throughout the night , and recently added political messages to their beer names as mentioned by another reviewer, which is real out of place for a brewery. read more

I recently attended this bar for CFB game-day and I was surprised with how good the beers were (Diamond especially) however the parking situation is less than ideal and the space can and did very crowded quickly! I was looking for a place to sit down to drink and watch the football game, but this place is a standing primarily with games setup all through and even a ping pong table with a projector on the back wall. One thing I enjoyed was that since they didn't serve food they allowed animals in, and dogs were everywhere! The bartenders are attentive and helpful, even when busy. The brews are great. I had champagne in the membrane (didn't taste like champagne) and the staple, Pablo beach. Both great. I tasted the honey blonde and wish I would have had one before we left. It was buttery and sweet. There are sets of low tops and high tops, a couch area, bar, and the back room has picnic tables with giant jenga, ping pong, and giant checkers. Coozies are only $2! read more

The giant hole-in-the-wall on 3rd Steet surely pumps out some delicious brews. Their Head High IPA was cold (often overlooked when mentioning beer) and served with a foamy head. The West Coast hop content was excellent, while the malt finish exceeded expectations. The Double Overhead IPA was a punch to the groin...in a rewarding way! The bitterness from the hops made this one of my favorite double IPA's. 9.1%, "Great Scott!" Try one of their special Bourbon barrel treatments, too! Talk about finger-licking good. Green Room seems like a place for the everyman. Friday night was relaxed, dimly lit and a solo guitarist ran threw classic hits like he's been doing it for years. Super chill brewery at the beach! We have been meaning to try Green Room and man were we missing out! I tried several of their beers and liked them all! The high five is a very hoppy IPA in my opinion but the Pale Ale was perfect for my taste. The raspberry sour was amazing!! The perfect mix of sour and fruit.
