Fun in the sun. Definitely felt like a kid again while visiting this water park. Such a great place to be with the hot humid summers of South Carolina. The price point is not bad for all they offer in fun. Everything from a wave pool, surf tide pool, lazy river and water slides for all ages! They have plenty of places to lay out in the sun or catch some shade either in a Ramada or under an umbrella. Not to mention the lockers and gift shop to pick up anything you feel you need during your visits from bathing suits to towels to flip flops or water shoes. We rode the big enclosed water slides first and it was intense! The "toilet bowl" slide was fun and entertaining g if you wish to ride single or double tubes. Plenty of places to choose from for a icee, cold drink or food including alcohol for adults. Only knock is the bath and changing rooms. They were a bit dirty and do not recommend walking barefoot in there as the floor probably had a ton of bacteria and also noticed standing urine in the showers stalls. read more

I share the same sentiment as another reviewer .. DEFINITELY check Groupon before buying tickets at the park. $60 is way more appropriate than $100 for this. When we went on Monday the flow rider ride was closed due to maintenance. Not all of the slides in each area were operating. The wave pool was okay but nothing crazy about it. The lazy river is lazy in design for sure there's no extra anything asking it. No waterfall, sprinklers or nothing so in the heat it is super hot and pure sun. Bathrooms were dirty. Please please please take water shoes or some crocs or something to walk around in on a sunny day bc you will burn your feet. read more

We really enjoy spending time at this water park as a family. There is something for everyone. Our daughter really enjoyed the splash playground with slides when she was little and now she really likes the wave pool and big slides. We all have a great time swimming in the heated wave pool and going on the thrilling slides. We went on a Monday in June and it wasn't crowded. There were plenty of seats to relax on and the lines weren't long at all. We try to visit this water park every summer and we always have a good time. read more

Bought the refillable cups, could not drink from them they smelled awful like garlic. Drink tasted terrible, managed to talk to a manager they offered refills in a 32 oz cup but did not offer refunds. BAD BUSINESS, if you know you have a problem fix it. On a day where it is sprinkling outside in the summer, Myrtle Waves is awesome. 80 degrees outside. There isn't much of a crowd and none of the slides have a line. It is a perfect place for a rainy day with a big group of kids. read more

The park is only open about three months out of the year. The result is seasonal employees that don't care about doing any good at their jobs. Combine that with the ridiculous prices (No first responder/ government/ or even local discount, only military and senior citizens) and it makes for an extremely mediocre experience. This place is a tourist trap- myself and half a dozen other people waited over half an hour for a terrible, overpriced slice of pizza. You're better off finding a pool at a resort/ air BNB with a water slide. The only redeeming quality was the assortment of slides, however, many of them were out of service. Stop by from out of town with the family, park is small and shaded seats are very limited. We got here when the park open around 11:30 and we were able to find nice shade! Other no so lucky so be aware of the time you come in. They charge 40 dollars for adults, they do have military discount so be sure to ask. Food is very expensive 13 dollars for a 5 pc chicken tender meal with fries and soda, funnel cakes are garbage, waste of moneya! They also say no drinks allowed but I saw people coming in with outside drinks , i will at least bring some water, i didn't try but saw many allowed to bring in at least one drink. read more

The LAZY RIVER is huge, carrying you all around the park center. providing a great way to travel from a ride in one side of park to the other. The WAVE POOL was great relaxing fun The FOOD AND BEER options are extensive, located on the island inside the loop of the lazy river. However the lines are very long and kitchen got backed up when we ordered food. ----------------------------- FAVORITE RIDES: - Lazy River - HUGE! Runs all around center of park. Not only good way to traverse the park, we enjoyed just taking a break and riding the river round and round and round. - Night Rider Tube Slide - fully enclosed slide where you ride tube in the dark so you can't anticipate the next turn. It's a blast! - Rockin Ray Tube Slide - This is an INTENSE and EXHILERATING tube ride. This is large U-shaped pad where you free fall down a steep slope and up the other side of the U. You slide back and forth until you lose energy. This is strictly for double riders. You cross legs together so this isn't something you can just team up with another stranger in line. - Wave Pool - a classic water park feature. Got a double ear infection from this place and so did my boyfriend and he has been here twice and received ear infection both of the times. It smelt like trash it was terrible. Not to mention the hot pavement all the way up to the water slides then they had these mats on the staircase that made your burnt feet feel like razor blades would not recommend going to this place. read more

Month of May is mostly weekends only. Don't let weather deter you! We saw guards in training and walked to the top of any slide we wanted! Our guy is 7, and 44" tall. We rode everything but the 48" single tubes. Going in off peak is key. Had a great day. read more

This was our first time here, when we entered the cashier and who ever walked us over to the Cabanas were extremely polite professional, all of the staff were great couple Of over heated life guards but over all that part was good. As for the cabana., you definitely need one it wasn't wiped down sanitized or swept. I paid $170 near the kids area. The fist water side my son fell and hit his tail bone very slippery grounds almost ruined our whole day. We ordered from the cabana girl hot dogs and French fries the hot dogs were huge and disgusting, cold horrible flavor. The French fries horrible soggy even some were brown totally gross. I got taquitos absolutely disgusting. Horrible food. It was fun until around 12 hit when all the camp kids came, they put all their shoes near the cabana and the next door neighbor kept walking past our area absolutely terrible. The camp kids were so unruly and pushing on the kiddo lines even grown teenage boys pushing and being wild in a kid area. The music is so loud, extreme amounts of kids after 12 extremely hot even with a cabana. I absolutely would not recommend going here unless it's in the low 80's I could've easily gotten sick from the heat. I will not be returning here and would not recommend not my cup of tea. read more

Had to leave them in the car. Then on the lazy river we ask the life guard if certain chairs were available for just anyone and she said yes. We had our stuff there and this man starts moving our stuff off of our chairs. Do not buy the plastic refill cup!!! Spent 25 dollars for 2 of them. They smelled awful like some kind of garlicky chemical and made the drink horrible. Came home and washed cups through dishwasher twice and the smell is still there. Had to throw them away! We bought our tickets through Groupon. Groupon says you can bring snacks and your own lunch so we did. Myrtle Waves does not allow this so we had to take everything back out to the car. Once inside we asked a life guard if we could sit at the 4 chairs along the lazy river and she said yes we could. As we're floating by some man was removing our things. We said excuse me that's our stuff what are you doing. This is also a paying customer. Apparently our seats were at a cabana he paid for. I would have been totally fine if he were nice about it. He was demanding we leave. We explained why we were there in the first place...that the lifeguard said we could sit there......she denied telling us we could sit there. It was the same girl. The man got up on my sis n laws space like he wanted to fight her and I said you need to calm down. He said he can't because he's competitive. The male lifeguard just stood there and was going to let this happen. We just walked away. This has been a crap show since we got here. I won't be back! ZERO stars!!! read more

The good is that it wasn't too crowded on this Sunday in August. We got there soon after opening and there was no line to get in. The wave pool was disappointing as the waves were like gentle to non existent. The lazy river was ok but have been to better. The Arooba tuba looked like a giant toilet bowl and was decent. Didn't partake of food but my companions did. After waiting on line for 15 min, was told they ran out of hot dogs. They do have adult beverages that were a bit pricey but pretty good drinks. As storms were in the area, they shut down all the slides but kept pools open. Was told if lightning strikes within 10 miles, all shuts down. Was a good hot day to enjoy cooling off, def bring water shoes or sandals as the pavement gets pretty hot. They need more shaded areas to get out of sun for awhile. read more

if i had paid full price for this, it would probably only be 1-2 stars. definitely check groupon if you are still planning on going here!! my party of 2 only went for 60 dollars instead of 100, 60 definitely felt more appropriate for the experience we got place overall felt clean and rides were fun. do NOT walk around without shoes, you will burn your feet and the lifeguards dont care. my main issue came from one of the lifeguards being straight up rude despite no one questioning her authority (my partner has an eye injury and cant ride without goggles. no sign anywhere stating he couldn't wear them. we simply told her we couldn't do the ride without it/we were ok with burning our feet more after she told us to remove them and she just threw her arms up in the air at us and repeated herself, as if we didnt understand her the first time). pretty insulting to have a child talk to adults that way for no reason (again, we were not fighting what she said) (also isnt it her job to keep people safe? she showed blatant annoyance with people complaining about their injured feet from the same establishment). we personally wont be back, but this place still certainly has stuff to offer for others read more

I'm giving a mixed review. My partner and I had a blast because = water park BUT I want to say this; for the exorbitant price the waterslides are old, as are thee ammenities. And the "lifeguards" are clearly not interested in helping anyone. I really needed to find the first aid station as I cut my elbow open on a ride and frankly the first life guard could care less and could not even speak English which is a problem when you need first aid in an English speaking country. This is a mixed bag of reviews and a lot of people hating on Myrtle Waves. Is it the best water park I've been to? No. Did I have a great time? Absolutely! Here's how it went down. I hadn't been for years as I no longer live in the area, but my nieces and nephews have been season ticket holders for years. This year they invited me to join them for a promotion they run in August where you can bring a friend on a season pass... Uncle Scott is in like Flynn. Being the Funcle that I am, the kids immediately knew I'd be down for hitting the biggest and worst slides in the park right off the rip. They took me straight to the Rockin Ray. Picture a giant stingray with its wings perched mid-air in water flight essentially creating a giant half pipe. This double rider tube slide is a favorite of my nephew and usually, his sis is too much of a chicken to ride. I gotta say, this slide was more than I bargained for, that initial drop leaves your stomach at the top of the stairs and as you launch up to the top, your brain is pretty sure you're going straight over the edge plummeting to your death. Fortunately, that doesn't happen... often. The rest of the day we hit countless slides, the lazy river, wave pool, and even had lunch in the food court. I thought the prices were reasonable, the staff were chill instead of being on a lifeguard power trip, and the lines were pretty short too. We had a really good time at Myrtle Waves Water Park this past week in Myrtle Beach. If you buy your tickets in advance on the website, you save a few bucks for each ticket. Lockers (the smallest) are $8 to rent for the day. And there really isn't much more cost to it to enjoy the water for the day. Of course if you plan on eating onsite, the Drinks and Food are not bargain priced. But you can always walk out the park, drive to about 100 restaurants or fastfood within a mile, and then come back. That's what we did, and didn't end up spending more than $16 for all three of us. The Wave Pool is pretty cool. The Slow & Fast Rivers are fun. The Spiraling slides, and wall slide are fun. All in all a really good trip. Great for all ages. read more

I went to the water park on the first day opening . There was not enough floats for the lazy river Everything was clean . A lifeguard in a chair at the water waves pool . She blew the whistle constantly but nobody knew what was wrong . Everybody was looking at her and each other. My biggest issue is I bought a season pass instead of beach because of my lungs . VERY disappointed that the rest rooms were so far away into the park . One should be closer to entrance . I have lung defiency and I think it is way too far to walk . Very cheap! We got in for free! Pee in the pool the bathrooms are all filthy! No soap! No hand sanitizer! ! Rented a cabana the furniture was a miss mash and needed replacing! Staff was So so some were fantastic others were high-school kids who didn't give a crap ! My recommendation is go but set your expectations low. I used to frequent this spot regularly as a kid. Hasn't changed much since. It's a water park on the smaller side with rides for a variety of ages. The upside is that the lines aren't overly long wait wise. Plenty of parking. I suggest you try out a deal on Groupon instead of paying full price. They offer food also (pizza, iced, etc). read more

There were literally rusty chains everywhere. Rust was everywhere. The only cold water in the entire park was in the kids section. They were literally pumping hot water into the lazy river. There were bandaids floating in the wave pool. The lines were so long because of the lack of tubes by the time we actually got on a ride we were almost completely dry. The rides were dirty. The rides were great, lifeguards were all over the place so it seemed we'll staffed. All the rides were open when we went. Go early if you want to get a spot under an umbrella. Otherwise the Cabanas were all $100 plus to get in the shade. The concession lines weren't long but so slow!!! The Italian ice was amazing and I think I had 4 of them. They had lockers available for 14 bucks to keep your valuables in. They don't allow outside drinks and they will search your bag. Overall it was a great experience for the kids. The lazy river was my favorite. Bathrooms were clean, and the entire facility seemed well maintained. It's expensive but worth it. read more

Good slides/rides. Gets crowded very quickly as we waited close to an hour for a couple of slides. I'd suggest going on a Monday or Tuesday. Some (not all) of the staff are pretty rude. The life guards at the pool will blow their whistles and smart off to you for practically anything. Very much a case of 20 year olds that believe they have "power" lol. My kid asked if they could get her a float for the wave pool (they were all bunched up in a section that was closed off) and she was greeted with an eye roll and a rude comment by the male life guard. I took my daughter and niece to the park on Friday July 12th 2024 . We paid and entered at 4:44 pm per the receipt we went and paid for a locker , planning to stay until closing. We were able to go to the wave pool and lazy river but the slides were closed. The staff advised because of a possible storm. We were there for about an hour and a half when everyone was told they had to exit the pools. We were told that it was temporary until the lighting passed. We decided to get dinner and wait out the storm. Half hour later we were told the park was closing and everyone had to exit . When I tried to speak to the staff about a partial refund they looked confused . We were there for less than 2 hours so I thought a partial refund was due. I finally was able to speak with a lady who advised she was the manager but never gave her name. She advised that they will not give refunds of any kind but they give rain checks. I advised that a rain check will not work because my niece who was visiting from out of town won't be able to return. The lady who appeared agitated said her bosses have told her not to give refunds . Won't be returning I feel that someone who actually lives in Myrtle Beach a partial refund should have been granted. We were there less than 2 hours and were told to leave the park. read more
