The last time I went to Mythos was years ago. It was located on Lonsdale Ave. back then. Not sure when they moved to this location but I am so in love with the vibe of this new location! It's in a cute house. Feels more spacious, brighter and I love the Greek tunes they play in the background! I ordered the Briam which was baked eggplant topped with mixed vegetables, tomato sauce and feta. It came in a piping hot casserole dish and retained its heat all throughout the meal. It was accompanied by roast potatoes and Greek salad. One of my favourite parts of a Greek meal is always the lemon roasted potatoes. Honestly, I feel that the lemon flavor could have been stronger in these roast potatoes. I could probably make it better myself at home. I still enjoyed the potatoes but I do wish it had been more lemony. The Briam wasn't bad but I wasn't blown away by it. Don't think it's something I need to order again. There was a Mezze taster for 2 on the table. I tried some of the tzatziki and hummus from the Mezze platter with pita bread. Super yummy! I was surprised to see so few Vegetarian symbols on the menu. They have for example, a Veggie Moussaka on the menu but there's no Vegetarian symbol next to the Veggie Moussaka. It sounds like it should be a vegetarian dish. Otherwise, why bother having 2 different versions of the Moussaka on the menu. Spanakopita is another dish which I would think is vegetarian. Surprised there's no vegetarian symbol next to that dish either. I saw Ek Mek on the dessert menu. I never knew about this dessert for a long time but finally got introduced to it years ago at a Greek restaurant in New Westminster and was totally hooked on it. Another long time neighborhood Greek restaurant. I Loved it! Clean delicious dining. I ordered the skewered lamb grilled perfectly medium rare and juicy. Fresh Greek salad and potatoes. We came here for a wedding rehearsal dinner and the food was SO GOOD! We arrived to an assortment of dips + bread and another appetizer that included calamari, lamb/beef patties, and a few other items. Both assortments were delicious, but my favorite item was probably the lamb/beef patties. For our entree, we decided to get the lamb with rice & veggies. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the meat practically fell off the bone. It was even better paired with a few veggies and rice as well. I would 100% order the lamb again! I still love the atmosphere and food at Mythos, but I think they've made a mistake by changing their wine list to Greek wine only. I think it's great to have Greek wine options, but I don't think it should be the only option. Many wine drinkers are particular about their wine and I hope they will reconsider this decision. I'm not going to drop their star rating, but I hope they see this review and see that this decision prompted my friend and I to go to a different Greek restaurant recently that had a more varied wine list. read more

I was craving for some good calamari, and started looking into all the good Greek restaurants in North Van. Based the good Yelp review, I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is very spacious, all the decor are old fashion with friendly staff. We chose a table that's away from others, they have both booster and high chair available at the time for the little one. When the Calamari came, the portion was very standard, and flavor was okay. I expected them to be a little more crispy. Each of us ordered the roast lamb, backed seafood with egg plant, and chicken souvlaki with different sides. The roast lamb were well cooked, juicy, fell off the bones. I asked for baked potatoes and Greek salad, both were very nice. However, my family ordered the rice and baked veggies, both rice portion came out to be very small, almost enough for one person. When the dessert came, the ice cream came in a big bowl, with whipped cream on the top, nothing wrong with that, just there was zero presentation, just like how I would eat the ice cream at home. The mud pie came out as a surprise as I thought it would be a baked Pie, instead of a piece of ice cream cake. Normally at any Greek restaurant, pitta bread is always complimentary. However, when I asked the waiter, he said they have stopped giving out pitta bread complimentary, not even with the meal. You would have to order it. Ordered calamari dinner and lamb souvlaki dinner to go. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived and we were told they make the calamari fresh when the customer arrives so we waited a bit for that. We got home and discovered that they forgot the greek salad with the dinner so called back and we agreed on an alternate compensation for their error. The lamb souvlaki was tasty but at $26 we were a little surprised at the small portion size of lamb. The pilaf and potatoes were cooked and seasoned well in a traditional greek style. Partner's calamari was well received but he was sad about the missed salad which he was really looking forward to. It grieves me to have to leave this review and I sat with this for a while before posting but feel obligated as we are living in a pandemic and safety needs to be paramount and taken seriously. My family LOVEs Mythos. It is the only restaurant on the North Shore that we frequent and it's our go to for all family celebrations. My husband is a senior and immune compromised. He is in the at-risk category and with COVID we are very cautious about our outings. We made a reservation for dinner for two. We were celebrating. We were seated inside with a view of the kitchen. We placed our order for 2 appetizers and 2 lamb entrees. As we were chatting my attention was directed to the kitchen. I noticed one of the cooks with his mask work below his chin. As I observed for a few seconds I was horrified to see him insert his index finger into his nose and dig around. I asked to speak with manager. Older lady manager came to table. She chose to mishandle the situation. Went to the staff to identify me as having complained about a health concern. The cook continued working at his station and my concern wasn't taken seriously. I felt sick to my stomach. Couldn't eat anything. We paid the whole bill (no discount offered) Long story short. We won't return. read more

This was always our "go to" Greek restaurant but unfortunately they have changed their wine list to only glasses of Greek or wine from Spain. My friend and I had a tester of 3 of them and they were all horrible. To make matters worse, they do not offer 9 ounce glasses only 8 and they were $21.00 each! We've been making our way around the local restaurants with weekend take outs lately and this recent find tops the list! Definitely a case of you get what you pay for, we've found the offerings here absolutely delicious! The hummus and taramasalata with pita bread is fresh and flavorful, very addictive and generously portioned. The souvlaki plates are hearty, with lots of flavour again, well seasoned and tender meats and tasty sides. I can see why they're known for their potatos, with a slight zing of lemon among other seasoning. If their meals are this good to go, no doubt it's even better during dine in. The ambiance is nice too, cosy and romantic. When things get back to normal, we'll make our way there, but in the meantime, we'll enjoy the take out! read more

Ordered take out yesterday - no usual pitas with appies ( called later to ask why and was told they do not give pitas anymore unless a big order). Potato's we're very hard and super dry, chicken souvlaki portion was smaller than usually and prices went up for every item although old prices shown on the ordering menue. This is my go-to Greek restaurant. I've been coming here for the past 15-20 years. I usually order the calamari, roast lamb, dolmades, hummus, and the chicken souvlaki. The calamari is always fresh, lightly battered and fried; by far the best calamari I've ever had. The roast lamb falls off the bone and has incredible flavour. The dolmades are a classic and the lemon sauce they put on top really puts the dish at a new level. The hummus is not your standard hummus, as it has plenty of garlic and is absolutely amazing. The chicken souvlaki is always tender and juicy. They usually ask if you want vegetables and rice, or Greek salad and potatoes. If you ask, you'll be able to get what you want. I usually order my entrees with rice, Greek salad (no oil) and potatoes, and they do it for me free of charge. The place can be a bit pricey but you won't be disappointed!!! read more

Response to P.F. update LOL. Ludicrous. Do not make false accusations about me or throw in unrelated comments regarding COVID and Mythos staff to try to evoke sympathy from the audience to save face. I am not surprised with this response. You attack me here as you did on the phone and at the restaurant. I did not throw anything on the bar or anywhere else. I let you know on the phone that I was returning for a refund. Of course the tip should be refunded, the customer should not have to ask. I was never offered a free meal, and I would not have accepted after being treated so rudely. I would never be impolite to the staff and I was not. Of course the staff member maintained her composure. She was trying to calm me (the upset customer) after being treated so rudely by the manager. In this situation the manager was a poor representation for Mythos and the rest of the staff. The young lady that took care of me should replace the manager. She had excellent customer service skills. Too bad she did not answer the phone when I called... But as you made the point on the phone, there are other good Greek restaurants such as Anatoli's in North Vancouver to go to. Amazing restaurant ! My boyfriend and I went there for dinner, at first we weren't sure about the place. It seemed dark and small from outside. However, it has a great and big area and also perfect lighting. We order the dayspecial. Oh man! It was soooo delicious. The dishes are well served and taste AMAZING! I was so full,but the food was so good that I kept eating it! Haha Our server was very friendly and helpful she made us fee very welcomed. To be honest all the staff was nice and polite. I am still in awe of the meal my mother and I just had tonight at Mythos. I had been some time ago when they were previously located up on Lonsdale and we were both in the mood for Greek food. This location used to be where Pasparos was situated for so many years. I ordered the Prawns, Scallops and Beef Souvlaki. The beef was medium rare to perfection and to so much better than anything I've ever had at The Keg or Milestones. The prawns and scallops were amazing. Service was prompt. I believe they need a few air conditioners in the place as it's rather hot inside due to the kitchen but with the windows and doors open it was pleasant​ enough. After many weekly takeout orders, the consistent standouts are their house special Roast Lamb, vegetarian Spanakopita and their Roasted Potatoes. Lamb chops, Tzatziki, Greek salad and rice are great too! Prawns in butter, lemon and garlic are good - a strong 3.5/5, but slightly overshadowed by their top dishes. Tried their most expensive dish, the $28 Halibut which was slightly disappointing. One small fillet cut into 4-5 pieces that came out slightly dry. Chicken skewers are hit or miss. Sometimes great and other times dry. Not a fan of their hard pitas. Perfect order amount for our weekly group of 10 averages $225. For their roast lamb alone, this might be my favorite place to eat in North Vancouver. read more

First off, I've been eating Mythos' food since I was a little girl at their former location on Lonsdale. But the new location has taken this restaurant to a whole other level. The decor is elegant, rustic, classic Greek and pure class. The ambience is lovely. Their outdoor atrium is lovely. The food is absolutely phenomenal. My favorite program is to order a bottle of Retsina, the tarama dip (often referred to as a "caviar dip," it features roe and always has a gorgeous acidity to it... favorite I have ever had outside of Greece, seriously do yourself a favor and order it!) a saganaki (simple, lemony, still piping hot cheese... how can you go wrong?) the lamb, which falls off the bone and comes with classic lemon potatoes that are never greasy and always perfectly crispy on the outside and soft to eat, the proper Greek salad with NO LETTUCE, just delectable cucumber, feta, spices, an olive, and tomato - which I truly believe is the king of all salads. I've also had the Moussaka many times, and it never disappoints. If I can convince whoever I'm eating with to split the lamb and moussaka, I'm in heaven. Warm octopus has a perfect cook on it, beautifully spiced, ridiculously tender. I authentically believe that Mythos has the best Greek food I've had outside of Greece. The recipes are passed down from the owner's mother from what I understand, and it shows. My favorite place to eat in the area, and to be honest, the city. Over the years, we have frequented many restaurants in North and West Vancouver, including yours. We have actually attended your restaurant on several occasions as a couple and with larger groups in the past and had favourable experiences. I wish I could have said the same regarding our last experience. We have always been respectful of others when dining in restaurants given that customers are paying good money to have a pleasant dining experience. No need to go into detail again about the obnoxious behaviour of the two men. Just wonder why you would defend the actions of those two men, perhaps they are friends or family members of staff that work at your restaurant. With respect to the family and couple that asked to be moved, they could not stand another minute of listening to those very loud, foul mouthed men. For you to allege that the family and couple moved because of us is simply a boldface lie. Also, to claim that those two men picked up our tab is laughable. We paid our bill with a gift certificate and the owner took care of the small outstanding balance. We were hoping you would take some responsibility over what we experienced at your restaurant but instead you resort to lying about our actions. I'm sorry but you have lost all credibility. We have nothing to gain by lying about our experience at your restaurant but apparently you feel the need to do so. read more

Disappointing is an understatement. Been coming to Mythos for years, this is our go to place for Greek and for celebrations. Last night 3 girlfriends and I went in for dinner. We ordered our drinks and appetizers, then our meal. Theme of the evening seemed to be the lack of service from our waitress. She didn't ask us once if we wanted another drink (all glasses were empty for a long time and we needed to ask her for water and ice on more then one occasion). Our starters we're delicious, then my main course had a hair. At first when I saw the hair I wasn't too bothered, I understand it happens. That was until I took it off and realized it was not a hair from someones head. I quickly covered it up with the napkin as to not call too much attention to it, also so the other ladies at my table wouldn't loose their appetites. Our waitress was nowhere to be found, called another waitress who then called ours. She came, really didn't seem to concerned or apologetic about it and offered to replace my meal. By the time she came back with my new meal, the rest of my friends had finished theirs (one of them lost her appetite and couldn't eat after what happened to mine). I ended up getting my meal packed up to take home. Then again she didn't come around, we had to ask her for the dessert menu. Come time to pay the bill, my meal was charged and the only deduction was my Diet Coke. I didn't want to say anything, but my friends and so we're all talking and we thought, this is wrong, why should I pay? It was a gross experience, I had to wait 20 minutes for my new meal, I didn't even get to eat with my friends. The waitress came to the table and said she would talk to the head chef as the manager wasn't in. The remedy they offered was 25%off. She said that I ordered another meal, therefore I should pay for it. Then my friend went to speak to another waitress, she came back to our table, I tried to explain to her nicely, we all were talking to her calmly and without raising any of our voices , or tones, but honestly she immediately was rude, started almost yelling, saying we'll how do you know it was a pubic hair? Saying they are a small business and if they have to pay out free meals for every time they had a hair in the meal, using words like "you people", how she needed to attend her real customers. We advised her she shouldn't talk to us that way, then she started making excuses about how tired she was, how she's worked 20 shifts and then started crying. We actually didn't even know what to say. None of us could understand why she was getting so upset for asking her simple questions and explaining our situation. We all left the restaurant flabbergasted, I actually feel I was in shock, I have never been treated like that by a restaurant/waitress, I really couldn't understand her reaction. I literally told my friends, watch the story she is going to spin to her manager. And that's exactly what happened. Today, my friend called and tried to talk to the manager. As we suspected, he told her, all 4 of us started screaming at the server and making her cry. My friend asked him if he wasnt interested in my side of the story. He wasn't. Long story short, in my 49 years have I ever been treated like this in any other restaurant establishment. Yet alone for something so disgusting to have found in my food. I wasn't out for a free meal, I just felt they really should have fixed their wrong but clearly they don't care about their service, how to treat their customers, or even maintaining customers. So, while the food is always tasty (without hairs of course!) the customer service is less then what you would get at a McDonald's. So if your looking for Greek, my advise is Anatoli Souvlaki's, you'll get good food and most importantly, good service from owners that care. read more

I really love Greek food and since I moved to the north shore I wanted to try this place. I read good reviews so we went on a Tuesday. For our surprise, the souvlaki have a discount on this day of the week, which made our dinner even better. The food was delicious. As you get there, they give you a complementary pita bread with olive oil. We ordered one lamp and one beef. They come with potatoes and tzatziki and you can choose between Greek salad and rice with vegetables. We got one each so we could try everything. We also had the house wine (Greek wine). $7.5 for 6oz. The staff was also friendly and very helpful. There were only three people working in the dinning room but they assisted the whole restaurant very efficiently. Customer service: The server was spot on with timing for seating, drink orders, pita bread delivery, etc. The server announced to all of us the specials of the day and one of them is that they have the roasted lamb on special for $16. The hubs and I ordered 1 each. Kitchen service: we placed our orders at 6:53pm. The orders arrived at 7:07pm. Taste, Portion, Price: the lamb is soft and tender and juicy - quite fatty. One of the best greek restaurants I've been to. As you enter, you'll notice the window has over 20 stickers for different diner's choice awards that they've won through the years. Framed photos and newspaper articles about the restaurant and owners line the wall near the entrance. I dined on a Tuesday night, when they have a special on all their Souvlaki dishes for $16 (normally $18-$22), as well as some seasonal dishes. Luckily I arrived around 5:30pm as the restaurant started to fill up quickly, even on a weekday. I started with the Saganaki (grilled greek cheese), which came out sizzling on a hot pan, with half a lemon on top. The combination of cheese with lemon brought out the taste and texture very nicely. Plus it mitigated all greasy aftertaste that a grilled cheese would normally have. It went perfect alone or with the freshly baked bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, that they bring out as you are seated. For my main course, I ordered the Souvlaki kebabs with grilled steak, shrimp and scallops. The dish includes a generous portion of rice, a whole fried potato, Tzatziki sauce and grilled vegetables (zucchini, green beans, carrots sauteed in a light tomato puree). The steak came out perfectly medium, as requested, and the 3 jumbo shrimp and 3 medium scallops were cooked just right. Everything paired nicely with a glass of medium-bodied Malbec wine. The food definitely tasted like home-cooking, and the presentation and waitstaff were very attentive and thoughtful. Perfect for an intimate dinner, as well as larger groups. Portions were just enough to generous, depending on what you order.
