Dinner platter #1 ($59) and Kalamaria entree ($24)

This is the cutest Greek restaurant in New West! We stopped by for a late dinner (~8:30pm) and were promptly seated. I'm pretty sure we just missed the dinner rush as there were still an influx of customers waiting to be seated and the restaurant looked quite full. On Friday and Saturday nights, Stefanos has a live band starting at 7pm. We were seated right in front of the band and was able to enjoy the music! The atmosphere was lively and the restaurant had patrons from all walks of life who weren't afraid of showing off their moves on the dance floor. Between the 3 of us, we ordered a Dinner Platter #1 ($59) and a Kalamaria Entrée ($24). Each came with rice pilaf, potatoes, and Greek/Caesar salad. For the dinner platter, the highlights for me were the meatballs and moussaka. I'm not usually a fan of ground meat but this was delicious. The chicken souvlaki was on the charred side and was seasoned well. The shrimp was also quite juicy but standard. For the Kalamaria entrée (Calamari), it came with just the body of the squid (no tentacles) - I personally like calamari that have both the body and tentacles, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The squid wasn't tough at all and the batter was thin. The potatoes was flavourful and had more of a lemon-y taste. Out of all the meats, I think the lamb was my least favourite as it had a strong gamey taste. I found that the dishes were super reasonably priced as well -- the three of us were super full after the meal. Waiters were super nice and constantly came around to refill our water. I would definitely revisit this restaurant if I am in New West again! Lastly, if you're not too into loud music, I would recommend sitting further away from the band as it did get quite loud and was hard to hold a conversation. For us, we just enjoyed the music and ate!

I phoned them around 1:30 pm To make sure, they will open for lunch and will serve happy hour meal or not?! My hubby and I went there Around 2:35 pm. They gave us window seats. Only 2 tables of customers there, including our table, not busy. Our waiter gave us alcohol menu and dinner menu, after we sat down. I tried to ask For lunch menu, but the waiter told us, they don't have lunch menu on holiday. But someone who answer their phone at 1:30pm. They serve lunch at 2:30 pm? Our waiter said, " you can order roasted lamb, we can split it into 2 dishes for you, but we will charge you $3 more" Then he left. I tried to order their appetizer...Steamed mussels, but our waiter told us, they sold out.. so disappointed So, We ordered chicken livers And Red sangria to start, after 5 minutes. Chicken livers --- deep fried onions on top, But not crispy --- 8 big pieces of tasteless oily chicken livers --- with thick and tasteless tzatziki --- we don't like it Red sangria --- tasteless and too much ice Pita bread --- look oily and pale, when they served --- but surprisingly.. it's fresh, hot and Crispy, after you bite on it We tried to ask for happy hour menu around 2:45pm. Our waiter said, " you only can order after 3 pm. The food item with green logo will charge half price, but of course Half portion of regular size" With unhappy voice. After we checked their happy hour menu, not much Greek food, look like pub's menu.. Then we ordered roasted lamb @ 3 p.m. with our waiter. The waiter tried to take All the menu from us And leave, after we ordered the roasted lamb. I told him.. I still need to order more food Later.. then his service changed From impatience services to good and fast services. After the roasted lamb showed up... --- the roasted lamb was crispy And tasty outside, juicy and soft inside --- their rice is made with tomato and herbs, But too hard for us and tasteless.. --- My hubby and I had one Scoop each and leave it aside.. --- roasted potato was too hard and tasteless Our waiter and another Lady showed up every 5 minutes for changing plates, refill ice water and Asked us, " how's the food?" After my hubby ordered more food ... Kalamari --- so fresh, hot, crispy And tasty Kalamari --- we like it Hot wings from happy hour menu --- look spicy to me, when they served, because they put a lot of chili on top --- but it's not spicy at all, Just sour, but too dried Mixed satay From happy hour --- look messy when they served --- got 6 small pieces of Tasty juicy chicken --- 2 small pieces of Dried chewy beef --- 2 small pieces of tasty and tender Lamb meat with a lot of dried Rice and pita bread --- we like the lamb and chicken meat We had a lot of rice leftover, Because it's too hard for us. We just pack the pita bread home. My hubby likes the Pita bread, but we cannot finish it. We just pack to go. I paid $78.70 + 20% tips For their good services We will go there again for roasted lamb and kalamaria.

My partner and I use to go to Stefanos 15 to 20 years ago. Six years ago he had a bad fall and now has a brain injury and is in a nursing home. I decided to come for dinner tonight unfortunately on my own but it is exactly how I remember it. The only sad part is he isn't with me but as soon as I walked in it is how I remember it. I plan to go again in the future. The food is good and so is the band. The nicest part was I knew most of the band members.

Hello, we ordered $250 dollars worth of takeout from them, to dine at home unfortunately the food was very subpar! The chicken was very dry, the salad had no dressing..... will not be ordering from them any longer!!!!

I came here for lunch and it was quiet on a weekday. The place is huge with a lounge on the ground level and the restaurant above stairs. There is an elevator if you need it. There is also a small area for the band and probably dancing too if you are inclined. Food wise, the lunch menu is definitely much more affordable. I had the prawns and scallops which cost $15 on the lunch menu but $28 for dinner. That is quite a big difference if you are budget conscious. The prawns and scallops tasted ok, not as sweet or flavorful as I would have liked. But then again I noticed most places in Vancouver had this same issue for seafood. The highlight of the meal would be the potato and pita. The potato was amazing - fluffy soft and full of flavor with the lemon. The pita was wonderfully fluffy too, perfect with the tzatziki. I would come back again, but likely for lunch as it is just so much more economical compared to dinner.

I'm suprised Stefanos is averaging only 3 stars out of 5. I was pretty impressed by this place. The food itself was delicious. I would give it 4 stars for the food. The roast lamb was tender, moist and seasoned well. The roast potato was cooked well and flavorful. Now the atmosphere and staff is what boosted this place to 5 stars. My friend had her wedding lunch at Stefanos and everything was handled wonderfully. The staff were personable, helpful and full of smiles. They accomodated our group quite at the last minute as well, but everything went smoothly. The wedding took up a little more than half the restaurant on the second floor. We had microphones for speeches and a dance floor for people who want to let loose. Everybody that attended the wedding had a great time. Not a complaint from anyone.

Came here for a birthday party. (disclaimer: we had a set menu) Parking is available all the way along Columbia. The restaurant is located on upstairs of the building, so you do have to climb 2 flights of stairs. Something to keep in mind. The interior is quite spacious, the the exposed roof and skylights. Makes the place look quite nice actually. I liked it. The night I was there, they had a live band who played rock classics. They were pretty decent. I had the prawn dinner. These were nice and buttery, but unfortunately the prawns weren't fresh - they tasted like something out of the supermarket. My friends were raving about the quality of the lamb and I tried a piece - this was decent as the meat was nice and tender, and they didn't go crazy with the seasoning. I would recommend the lamb. The feta salad on my plate was decent though. It's nice to know that there are some decent food options in New West. But you may want to think twice about ordering the shrimp here.

The washroom is clean but it's dimly lit and only has a single stall. There's an unnecessary mirror in the stall so you can watch yourself go if you're into that sort of thing. Automatic soap dispenser and we'll stocked paper towels. 3.5 flushes out of 5.

Came here for dinner ouple of days before Christmas. If you love antique homey decorations, you'll enjoy this place! The ambiance was quite the show. Dim lights, with many props and dolls surrounding the dining area. They also had a dance floor/stage area with disco lights! I had their appetizer platter: spanakopita, meatballs, calamari, and deep fried zucchini. The deep fried zucchini was the best in my opinion, crisp on the outside.m, juicy on the inside. It also came with pits bread and hummus and tzatziki. I then tried the roast lamb. As usually, Greek servings are huge! The rice pilaf is unique, it's tomato based! The lamb was very tender and juicy. I enjoyed all of it. Overall, great place to be! Service was attentive and lovely too!

Wonderfuly light and flaky phyllo filled with layers of warm spinach. I was pleasantly surprised how warm it stayed and long the pastry remained intact and not soggy. My partner had the Greek Ribs & Chicken which came with all the Greek fixings ( rice /Greek salad / potatos / tzatziki & pita). The ribs has a nice seasoning run on them but like most Greek chicken ( I found it was quite dry). The potato's were not heavily lemoned either. It really was just a roast potato. We also had a Baklava. This was over sweet & heavy with what I found similar to the taste of black licorice or ouzo. Personally not a fan. We lucked out and got a seat to eat but most people appear to be doing take out orders and pickups here. Food takes a while to be ready so be ready to wait and eat with people sitting or standing waiting for their food. There is small side table, window counter and larger side table but there is definitely not too many places to sit. I'd recommend just puting in an order before showing up to save on waiting time. Staff was friendly despite how busy it got. Located on Hastings St. Plenty of street parking & side street parking and definitely transit friendly.

I have seen a lot of good reviews about this place and convinced our party of 8 to come try it…read moresince it's in our neighborhood and we have been looking for a new local Greek restaurant since Panos on Marine Drive closed down. Sadly, we were sooooo disappointed! We came on a Saturday evening at peak time, around 6:30pm, so granted, we expected it to be busy. We were sat nearly right away in comfortable booths with tables. The waitress brought us menus and water. So far so good! We ordered our food, nothing crazy, several got the special of the night, lamb souvlaki with potatoes rice and pita. A couple ordered the seafood pasta, one asked for red sauce instead of cream sauce and two asked for veggie lasagna's but they only had one order available. When we asked about the beers on menu, we were told each one was unavailable except for Heineken and the seasonal beer. When we asked what it was, she didn't know. She then brought the can of beer over and said she wasn't sure what type it was. Fair enough! She was young, seemed new and not quite trained with alcohol so no big deal. It gave us a giggle. It was a Granville Island radler btw. I ordered a Heineken and my friend ordered the yummy sounding spicy passionfruit margarita. My beer came fairly quick but no margarita. Then the young waitress came out to say that our food would take a bit longer to come out since they were a bit slammed with orders and asked if we wanted any appetizers. We decided we'd be ok, and decided to wait. One hour later!!!!! I'm not joking, one hour later, the margarita drink came out. Again, we noticed very young and probably newly hired staff attempting to make drinks. When this $19 drink came out, it looked like the rim of salt was touched with fingers and a lot of it was missing. However, my friend desperate for a drink or morsel of anything, decided to just have it as it came. She said it was delicious and the best thing she had. One hour and a half later!!! Our food came out. My medium rare lamb was cooked through and the pasta with red sauce came out with a cream sauce, but there was NO way we were going to send anything back as we were pretty hangry at this point. The potatoes were delicious, the rice extremely plain. All 8 of us agreed that for the price, service and quality of food, we would not be returning, although my friend said if the passionfruit drink was on the happy hour menu, she would consider it. All in all, very disappointed.
