Kisamos platter + rice pilaf and potatoes

I was in the mood for some authentic Greek food and didn't want to drive all the way to Greektown to get some. Upon a yelp search, Kisamos was very highly rated and also located in Steveston, which is close to me. I was quite surprised that I've never heard of this restaurant before. There weren't too many dine-in customers at 7:30 pm (they close at 9), but the entire time consisted largely of delivery orders plus takeout orders. Tables were quite spread out and spacious, which is always appreciated. As a group of 2, we decided to order the Kisamos Platter for 2 ($54.95). They started us off with a Greek Salad and Pita -- both were delicious. I especially loved the salad because of how much feta cheese they loaded on. The pita was soft and tender. First thing I noticed about the platter: IT WAS HUGE. Not only could it feed 2, it could feed us for the next 2 meals!! Honourable mentions: I especially liked the calamari and lamb chops. The lamb wasn't gamey at all, albeit a bit chewy. It was seasoned quite well. The calamari was crispy and super tasty either with the tsatziki or hummus. I think this calamari is a top 2 calamari pick for me of all time. I would definitely return again when I'm in the mood for Greek food. I don't think any where else can beat the portions and pricing of this place. Great dinner choice!

Their food was mediocre...however their service was great! I'm not a fan of lamb however their lamb was tender and moist so I actually ate some! I would not recommend their prawn & scallop dish as I don't think it's worth it.

A definite highlight of the evening is the whole place sang Happy Birthday , twice , for other patrons in the house who were celebrating . This is not a huge restaurant by any means so the feeling of coziness and togetherness is somewhat welcoming . Another reason why this neighbourhood joint is so popular - generous portions at reasonable prices . I mean the two of us shared a kalamari appy and moussaka entree and we couldn't finish both ! The baklava was a bit too sweet for our taste so we might try another dessert next time . If our tummies still have any room left :D

It doesn't seem like there's a lot of Greek spots in Richmond but Greek was what mom requested for her birthday and this was her favourite spot to get Greek from in Richmond so we had to get it. They have an online menu and are available for takeout and delivery. It was a seamless call-in process and pickup as well. Their restaurant space is big and they even have a window for pickup so there's no direct contact with the restaurant staff. You just stick your arm into their window and tap your card and voila, food is put on the table and you can grab and go! Their lamb and keftethes were definitely our favourites of the night. Although the dinner menus don't specify it, they all come with pita as well so it was good that we only ordered 3 dinner sets for 4 people as there were still leftovers!

We were in the area for the night and this restaurant was close to the hotel. We had 2 dogs with us so we're limited to the takeout option There are picnic tables across the street situated on a lovely grass area where we enjoyed our meal. We placed our order and were told to return in 20 mins to pick up but when we did return 25 mins later we needed to wait outside another 10mins. We ordered the lamb dinner and a side of kalamari to share. Reading reviews I heard the Greek Salad was notable, as was the kalamari. I would disagree on both. The Greek salad was mostly cucumber. The kalamari wasn't outstanding, rather heavy and greasy. The lamb was very good. It was the hiloght of the meal. The potatoes were fine and the rice was OK. 1 piece of pita was sufficient for the size of the meal. I was expecting better based on the reviews.

Get the lamb! It was a great find, we actually came in the area looking for a different restaurant which as it turned out was under construction. This place had great reviews and it didn't disappoint. The roasted lamb plate was of course the winner. The meat was very soft and there was a lot of it! The pork ribs were great too. But hard to compete with the lamb. We also loved the owner and stuff, very friendly! After that we walk by the waterfront which was really nice. Lovely and quiet neighborhood.

We've dined in here before pre-COVID and was impressed with the tasty meal and huge portion (at such a reasonable price)! We ordered take out this time around and everything was packed nicely in a paper bag. Portion is definitely smaller compared to dining in, but you will get full from the carbs (rice, potatoes and pita). Taste was decent. They didn't give a lot of meat and some were chewy, but flavour was quite pleasant. I enjoyed the rice though it was a tad oily. The calamari was average to be honest. It didn't really have a lot of seasoning so was a tad bland. My favourite was the pita because they were soft and pillowy. A perfect complement to the dishes. I'm not a fan of Greek salad so I didn't tried that though it looked very fresh.

In my opinion, this is the best greek food in vancouver so far. I haven't tried any other better greek food around here. The lamb is just good. As you may know, lambs usually tend to have a pungent smell, but kisamos taverna served it well. However, the chicken is just okay though. The moussaka is the best in my opinion. The potato and the rice are awesome too. You should try the moussaka! Trust me bro! This is recommended and I will come back to try it'd other food! Cheers!

Sadly, we were sooooo disappointed! We came on a Saturday evening at peak time, around 6:30pm, so granted, we expected it to be busy. We were sat nearly right away in comfortable booths with tables. The waitress brought us menus and water. So far so good! We ordered our food, nothing crazy, several got the special of the night, lamb souvlaki with potatoes rice and pita. A couple ordered the seafood pasta, one asked for red sauce instead of cream sauce and two asked for veggie lasagna's but they only had one order available. When we asked about the beers on menu, we were told each one was unavailable except for Heineken and the seasonal beer. When we asked what it was, she didn't know. She then brought the can of beer over and said she wasn't sure what type it was. Fair enough! She was young, seemed new and not quite trained with alcohol so no big deal. It gave us a giggle. It was a Granville Island radler btw. I ordered a Heineken and my friend ordered the yummy sounding spicy passionfruit margarita. My beer came fairly quick but no margarita. Then the young waitress came out to say that our food would take a bit longer to come out since they were a bit slammed with orders and asked if we wanted any appetizers. We decided we'd be ok, and decided to wait. One hour later!!!!! I'm not joking, one hour later, the margarita drink came out. Again, we noticed very young and probably newly hired staff attempting to make drinks. When this $19 drink came out, it looked like the rim of salt was touched with fingers and a lot of it was missing. However, my friend desperate for a drink or morsel of anything, decided to just have it as it came. She said it was delicious and the best thing she had. One hour and a half later!!! Our food came out. My medium rare lamb was cooked through and the pasta with red sauce came out with a cream sauce, but there was NO way we were going to send anything back as we were pretty hangry at this point. The potatoes were delicious, the rice extremely plain. All 8 of us agreed that for the price, service and quality of food, we would not be returning, although my friend said if the passionfruit drink was on the happy hour menu, she would consider it. All in all, very disappointed.

This is a Persian restaurant that specializes in kebabs, and despite the variety of dishes on the menu, they have few options - chicken, ground beef, salad, grilled tomato, basmati, and naan. We got the #3. Cholo Vaziri which has both chicken and seasoned ground beef skewer served in salad and rice, so we added a naan for $2 extra to try a bit of everything. The chicken is quite juicy and the ground beef is very juicy and flavorful. Rice is perfectly cooked and the salad is refreshing. The naan is huge. The provided tzatziki sauce is quite garlicky and complements well with everything. My only complaints are minor - I'd love more tzatziki (possible with $0.75 surcharge) and parking is almost impossible and spots are very tight. Otherwise, this is an excellent restaurant

Their drinks are both strong and delicious. It's a fantastic opportunity to try something new, especially since you don't get to experience Greek spirits every day. The food was just as tasty. We started with the calamari and the house spreads - we had the hummus, tzatziki, and roasted eggplant dip. It was so good that we had to order more pita bread. For our mains, we shared three different dishes: short ribs, lamb meatballs, and lamb roasted shoulder. The flavors were rich and well-seasoned. That, combined with their drinks, was a perfect match. Don't come here after eating a snack beforehand; make sure you're hungry because you'll be finishing your plate and the person you're with. I would definitely return here without hesitation to try the rest of the menu.
