Was a great visit to Superbaba for lunch on a Saturday! My friend and I got the chicken and beef bowls which came with delicious sauces, paired with a fresh salad on a bed of rice. The chicken I had was extremely tender and juicy and I really enjoyed it. The ambiance and staff were both great. The only thing I wish they could've had is a more traditional experience, where you could select the ingredients/toppings you want in your wrap or bowl along a display counter.

Finally made it here after reading all the good reviews. Did not disappoint! I had the chicken bowl with added crispy eggplant. Large portion and quite filling. All the veggies were fresh. Lots of sauce with the herb yogurt and sumac mayo, and they use chicken thighs so there's nothing dry about it. The pickled cabbage adds a nice sour flavour as well. Crispy eggplant is a few dollars to add on, but worth it if you're hungry. It tastes like tempura with the thin and crispy batter. Inside is clean, bright, and open. Order at the counter and they call your number when it's ready. Seating is somewhat limited for the amount of people coming in here. The tables are bolted down so it's not ideal for big groups. Makes an excellent takeout meal though. Parking is metered in this entire area now. Some meters are only $1/hour if you go west of Main St towards the park. No liquor license.

This is a great place for a quick and relatively inexpensive meal that will fill you! I came for a nice solo dinner after being in the area, and found it was pretty packed on a Friday night. I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl, which comes with a garlic sauce on top, half lettuce/salad, and half rice. With the busy evening, it took maybe 10 minutes of waiting, which wasn't too bad. The chicken was so fresh and delicious! It was marinated very well, and the meat stayed tender. The garlic sauce was divine. I liked the cucumber and tomato salad in the corner, and the lettuce leaves were alright too. I didn't love the shredded beet pieces, because they were very long and were going everywhere. Also don't love the taste of raw beet, but that's my personal preference. It just felt like there was so much beet. The dish filled me up and then some! Though I found I had a slight stomachache on my way home... not sure why. I will still come back! But I think I will take a small break for now. I'd come back for a fried eggplant snack, though!

When I first discovered this place, I thought it's just another medieval restaurant, as there are so many around now. But I was wrong; this place is different. I can say I was blown away. I was quite skeptical looking at their price and portion; it is more expensive compared to ones such as Donair Dude. However, I was very full and had to share a bowl with my girlfriend. Their chicken and lamb are not the normal ones you'd taste; I love how they use thighs only to keep the meat moist and juicy. On the other hand, the lamb was very flavorful, and since it came in a nugget form, it was also able to stay juicy.  The fluffy pita was my favorite part; it was indeed soft and fluffy, something I've never had before as a pita. It also has a unique flavor to it--a little sweet--and we loved the flouriness from each bite.  You will be surprised at how this will taste when you order it! Something we'd definitely order again!

Recently got take-out at Superbaba on a recent visit back home to Vancouver. I get the comparison (in some other reviews) to Chipotle...but with a Mediterranean flair! I had the chicken rice and salad bowl, with a side of fried eggplant. This bowl was so hearty and filling I could barely finish it. The bowl packs a punch of flavors, and with all the fixings in the bowl - red pickled cabbage, salad, tzatziki, rice, and protein - it's easy to have the perfect bite each time. The fried eggplant was delicious and crispy, and don't skip on the fries either!

On my list of places to try, I finally got the chance on a Saturday afternoon. I walked in and it was bright inside with quite a few place to sit. It's an order and pay first kind of situation. I decided to get takeout. I had the falafel wrap and the chicken bowl. Falafel wrap- it was delicious. Plenty of filling inside the wrap and it kept well when I transported it for takeout. All the flavours of the wrap went well with each other. The pickled cabbage added crunch and a refreshing aspect to the fried falafels and cauliflower. Chicken bowl- also delicious. Portion of chicken thighs was generous and I opted for half rice and half salad. There was plenty of tomato and cucumber salad and pickled cabbage. I also added hot sauce ($0.25) to the bowl. Everything was tasty and I liked all the textures and flavours. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch and filling. I'd come back again!

I'd been meaning to visit for a long time and found an opportunity this weekend for an early dinner. You order at the front and find your own seat. Their website also makes it very easy to order takeout. I got the chicken bowl with half rice and half salad (this is the default but you can have full rice or full salad). I also got a side of fried eggplant. The portion size was great, I couldn't finish everything. The chicken was flavourful and went great with the yogurt. The rice was great too. The eggplant was amazing, very crispy and light.

Incredible tempura-fried eggplant. The bowl contains pickled cucumbers and a jammy egg that truly make the the whole plate special. Unassuming. Delicious. Clean dining room and fast lunch service. Fantastic!

So good! The wrap is my favorite, I have been a fan since they had their food truck in downtown Vancouver around 3 yrs ago I love the pita, it has a bit more of chew while still has a soft texture to it. I got the chicken wrap and it was delicious The wrap is filled with chicken thigh, fries, cabbage, pickled turnip and sumac mayo Can't go wrong with the wrap!!

Overall, I enjoyed the food profile, though the service could definitely be improved. It was challenging to get the server's attention, and some cutlery was missing until we asked for it. My friend and I shared the Mezza Sampler - Hot ($32), which included 2 falafel, 2 kibbeh, cauliflower, and halloumi fries. Each dish was quite good, but the highlight for me was definitely the fried cauliflower. It was served with tahini, tzatziki, and pita bread. I'd recommend this more for sharing, as it can get a bit greasy. Our other friends ordered the Lentil Soup (small - $5), served with bread crisps, and the Batata Narra ($10), which are potatoes in a tomato chilli sauce. They said both dishes were good, though the Batata Narra wasn't spicy at all.

It would have been nice to have some Arabic or oriental music playing in the background. Maybe also some rose saboun in the bathroom would have been nice!! (Ok I'm overdoing it...just sharing my two cents!) Overall food was good, but I think service could be improved. We ordered the cold mezze sampler platter for 3, and we were a party of 4 adults. The portion was good and everything was delicious. I'm GF, and they serve the dips with lettuce for free (or you can order a side of cucumbers for a small charge). The presentation was lovely. The only thing I didn't like was after a while all of the dips just get mushed together and you kinda don't know what you're eating anymore...Also we all loved the jalapeno hummus the most. We asked for arak and it wasn't served the right way...Our server forgot to bring an extra empty glass so that we can mix the arak with water (in the proportional way that we'd like). I asked for an empty glass for mixing in addition to another drinking glass because mine was broken (crack was big and the glass should be chucked out). Server forgot to get an empty mixing glass. We ordered a taouk pita wrap, but we got served a taouk platter instead. Anyhow she just wasn't very attentive. The mixed grill mezze platter was mostly yummy except for the kafta. All of us at the table couldn't have more than a bite of it. The meat was undercooked, and the taste of the lamb was too strong and off. Definitely didn't taste like the kafta we know. The chicken and the cauliflower were delicious. I'd be tempted to try Nuba at another location and sample other things off their menu. Happy eating!!

I shared the haneeth and saltah with a friend as well as got the kunafa and bint al sahen for dessert. The lamb was very tender and fell off the bone and the saltah came in a bubbling pot. I think the presentation of each dish was beautiful and was representative of its quality. My favourite dish was definitely the haneeth; it had a good combination of meat, rice, and vegetables. My reason for the missing star would be price point (total came around to $55 per person) as well as flavour as I'm used to having very flavorful dishes from other cuisines. I had to get some kvass and pickles, too. I would get the dumplings, wrap, and kvass again in a second. Not that everything wasn't delicious, but my stomach is only so big and I need to try everything else on the menu. Khinkali is effectively a gigantic soup dumpling (HIGHLY recommend, but don't eat the stem!), and the meat in the beef kabob was similarly spiced. I fell in love with the lavash bread - it wasn't like anything I'd ever had. It was light, flaky, and I didn't feel overloaded with bread eating it like I do with most wraps. Kvass is slightly alcoholic, and it's technically a cereal based fermented drink, so it tastes a carby.
