I was craving for Greek food and I decided to tried out. Small restaurant with a great decoration, great menu and an amazing service. Impossible to not fell in love. Their menu was attempting, and I was not sure what to get until the waitress came along and started to do some recommendations. She was so friendly and helpful. I ordered Salmom Dio Souvlakia which it came with two skewers, spinach risotto, greek chips and tsatsiki. What a wonderful meal. Loved and I wish I could eat more but there was no more room for more food. After I ordered my food, the waitress started to talk about the wine and which wine will harmonize with my meal. And she was right. Anyways, I hope you have a great experience like I did have. Cheers

What a gem in the North Burnaby area! Olove offers a bit more than your typical greek restaurant. The fish roe dip - Taramosalata was refreshing, smooth, tangy and goes well with their pita What's different with their souvlaki dinners is that they are served with Risotto, and Fries. I like that I got to mix and match my skewers - prawns and wild salmon The ekmek dessert was presented differently, in a custard style in a glass Can't wait to be back to try the other dishes! The staff were also very helpful. And the chef owner also stopped by to check on our meal

We noticed another Greek restaurant in the neighbourhood. They've been around since the summer of 2018. We checked it out on Yelp and there were many good reviews. They also are apparently authentic. We'll have to pay them a visit. We're so used to the regular Greek fare, so how will it be different? I'm intrigued! We decided to venture there finally. I love the decor, simple, clean lines and tastefully done. Quaint...not a big restaurant but nice. Normally they would have more tables, but with Covid, they had to take out a few. We went in just when it opened and had our pick of seats. We knew what to order right away as we reviewed their menu beforehand and decided to share the Kalamari $14 and Dio Souvlakia (selecting a prawn and lamb skeAwer) $23.50. Hubby immensely enjoyed the side of spinach rissoto ("The best I've had!) and the prawns were very flavourful. Mmmm.... The lamb o ren the skewer was very tender also. It's a nice change to not have the regular sides of the Greek salad, pita, rice and potato. That's a lot of carbs! I asked about the fries which sat in oil, and the owner said that olive oil is something Greeks use when they can. They were nice fries but I wasn't used to the extra oil used. Olive oil is a healthy addition! Also they don't use frozen fries. It's a process for them to prepare these fries, as we found out! We finished dinner off with Baklava and since hubby loves his custard, we ordered the Vanilla Custard Coconut Dessert (which has a lot of coconut) $7.00 each. Both desserts were nice to finish off the meal with. The owner came over and we got a little history about authentic Greek cuisine and her many years and experience in the restaurant industry. A lovely person to chat with...very personable. A seasoned professional. She explained that with Greek cuisine, when family and friends come together, they have tapas. A little bit of this and that...a variety. I'll be visiting again to celebrate a friend's birthday. Looking forward to it! UPDATE:. I came here for a 2nd visit. I had the Moussaka, as did another person in our group. Served in a tall, round dish. We both enjoyed it. Someone else ordered the Goddess Bowl, which looked appetizing. Also ordered, was the roast lamb. We were all satisfied and full! 2nd UPDATE: My 3rd visit in three weeks! We started off with the zucchini chips. It was okay. Wanted to try it anyways. Hubby enjoyed the lamb chops but he thought it was not as juicy as he would have liked it. The Goddess Bowl didn't look like much but actually it was very filling. My friend had it last time I visited. It looked delicious, so I decided to try it. I love the infusion of different ingredients. I would definitely recommend this dish! We also shared an extra skewer of the oh so yummy prawns.

Amazing service with professional and friendly staff. Small restaurant and usually always busy so highly suggest anyone to make a reservation first! Nice atmosphere and volume can get a bit loud throughout the night but it's okay. Good for small to medium group, elders, children, dates, or by yourself. Their drinks are good, their cocktails are not watered down or too sweet. Their ingredients are fresh and the food tastes great with good texture. The portions are just right. A very good impression and wouldn't mind going back again one day. Would definitely recommend this place if you're craving or just want to try Greek food.

Olove definitely stand out from the many Greek restaurants I have been to in the past. The some of dishes you find here are more unique. The pita they use are not the fluffy thick ones, but thinner and less doughy. I like these thinner ones much more! And some other dishes that stood out to me included the lamb shoulder, which was super tender and saucy and the ekmek dessert (an absolutely delicious and light custard dessert with syrup soaked Phyllis stripes. It was also really nice how restaurant let you pick the mix of skewers you like in the the solavaki plates. Great way to try a little bit of everything! And solavki plates event have risotto which was a really nice treat!

Ahh what I didn't know about traditional Greek food, I learned at this new addition to North Burnaby. This 5-month old family-owned restaurant was packed when we arrived for our reservation on a Saturday night, and given it's not located in the main restaurant strip in the Heights, we took it as a good sign. Despite being extremely busy, our server was on the ball and friendly. After putting our orders in, our drinks and food arrived in timely fashion (either we got lucky and all the other tables had already been served or the kitchen was just that efficient). What can I say? The food was absolutely delicious- fresh, flavourful, piping hot, and beautifully presented. I'll spare you the details so you'll have to go try this place for yourself. As one of the last tables to leave for the night, we were treated to shots of ouzo (dessert for me!) on the house ^_^ We chatted up a storm with the the husband-wife duo who owned the business, letting them know it was some of the best Greek food we'd ever had. There's no doubt we'll be back soon.

North Burnaby's newest 'secret' dining hotspot! We know this won't be secret for long... We arrived early for a dinner on Wednesday night. The owners Irene and Nick, warmly greeted us at the door. The place is absolutely beautiful! The decor, lighting unique wall paintings (by their son) are all stunning. This is not your typical Greek restaurant. The plates are absolutely beautifully arranged. This is not your typical rice, potato & Greek salad restaurant. Sheri was our server and she was fantastic! She offered great tips about the items we were ordering. We had, and would highly recommend, the Saganki, Bourekakia, and Yarides Youvetsi appetizers. We also shared the delish Beet Salad and the Roast Lamb. All of us eat out very frequently and this is a restaurant we'd highly recommend you visit. But, please ....don't go on the nights we are there as we would like to be able to get a seat! One of our dinner party is celiac and emailed the restaurant about gluten-free options. This was the response she received within minutes of sending her question via email: "Hi, We do have many gluten free items! From appetizers like saganaki, prawns youvetsi, octopus, bourekakia, kounoupithi to main dishes like souvlaki, roast lamb and roast chicken. Three of our salads are gluten free, and all of our dips (except Taramosalata) have a gluten free option when ordered with sliced cucumber instead of pita. There are many things to choose from. Currently our dietary restrictions are listed on our in-house menu only, but we will have an updated online menu up shortly. Thanks, hope to serve you soon! Stathis Olove Online Manager" All in all... a great dining experience from the response to our online questions to feeling like we were dining with people who really cared about their customers dining experience. If you are craving Greek....head to Olove! Deanne, Leah & Dai

Organic beef meatballs in an amazing tomato sauce with Greek fries in an infused lemon, olive oil, herb sauce Lamb souvlaki with greek fries

Our go to place as the food is seriously AMAZING prepped by Chef Irene. The owners & the staff are great. Owner/chef Irene is seriously passionate about what she serves as she selects the finest & freshest = tasteful ingredients to compliment each dish. Every dish we have tried is so delicious from the organic meatballs in a delicious grilled tomato sauce, kalamari (the best ever), souvlakis, roast lamb souva wraps, Greek chips, ekmek dessert, etc. Make sure to take a look at the pics! It's been awhile since I've tasted such fine tasting ORGASMIC food! The food is tapas style so easy enuff to share! Highly recommend! We always look forward to our next visit! Thank you Irene & Nick for this hidden gem .

    Chicken souvlaki

This place is very much overpriced. Alleged organic ingredients do not justify inflated pricing, period. My family and I ordered takeout and were astonished at the size and portioning of meals. The owner - Irene - qualified the cost and amount of food by claiming there are overhead and labor costs involved. Pictured are the souvlaki ($23 plus tax) and cauliflower dish ($10 plus tax). We paid $83 dollars for those dishes, two orders of hummus, and a salad with falafel. Do not eat here; it is a major and total rip off. Btw, the owner also claims that Cristos up the street is filthy (per her lawyer); well ya, it may not be the cleanest but it's also not rip off city. So this is an update regarding the owner's response... Firstly, Irene most definitely stated that Cristo's was filthy (she did so in front of the person I was with). I have no reason to state otherwise. Why would I arbitrarily name a Greek restaurant in the vicinity (there are numerous others)?! Secondly, there was no refund offered. As a matter of fact, I was told, "I don't know what the problem is; the prices are on the menu." She then stated something to the effect of "the chicken is weighed, it's 'x' ounces." Furthermore, I myself said I would bring the food back, but decided not to as my 85 year old grandmother was too hungry to wait. The justification for the cost is absurd. The portions are minuscule to say the least, organic or not. I find it absolutely appalling that you would try to save face on Yelp by stating you don't speak on other eateries. Stop lying, Irene. You know what you said. A whole other person heard you as well. The fact that you would purport to call a customer a liar is ridiculous. This marketplace is not akin to a free for all, so I suggest you all find a new approach when it comes to pricing and portioning. Lastly, potatoes and vegetables are a Greek staple re: entrees: replacing them with risotto and chips is an oddity (but one of course, that helps your bottom line). You aren't fooling anyone with your facades.

Wonderfuly light and flaky phyllo filled with layers of warm spinach. I was pleasantly surprised how warm it stayed and long the pastry remained intact and not soggy. My partner had the Greek Ribs & Chicken which came with all the Greek fixings ( rice /Greek salad / potatos / tzatziki & pita). The ribs has a nice seasoning run on them but like most Greek chicken ( I found it was quite dry). The potato's were not heavily lemoned either. It really was just a roast potato. We also had a Baklava. This was over sweet & heavy with what I found similar to the taste of black licorice or ouzo. Personally not a fan. We lucked out and got a seat to eat but most people appear to be doing take out orders and pickups here. Food takes a while to be ready so be ready to wait and eat with people sitting or standing waiting for their food. There is small side table, window counter and larger side table but there is definitely not too many places to sit. I'd recommend just puting in an order before showing up to save on waiting time. Staff was friendly despite how busy it got. Located on Hastings St. Plenty of street parking & side street parking and definitely transit friendly.

I have seen a lot of good reviews about this place and convinced our party of 8 to come try it…read moresince it's in our neighborhood and we have been looking for a new local Greek restaurant since Panos on Marine Drive closed down. Sadly, we were sooooo disappointed! We came on a Saturday evening at peak time, around 6:30pm, so granted, we expected it to be busy. We were sat nearly right away in comfortable booths with tables. The waitress brought us menus and water. So far so good! We ordered our food, nothing crazy, several got the special of the night, lamb souvlaki with potatoes rice and pita. A couple ordered the seafood pasta, one asked for red sauce instead of cream sauce and two asked for veggie lasagna's but they only had one order available. When we asked about the beers on menu, we were told each one was unavailable except for Heineken and the seasonal beer. When we asked what it was, she didn't know. She then brought the can of beer over and said she wasn't sure what type it was. Fair enough! She was young, seemed new and not quite trained with alcohol so no big deal. It gave us a giggle. It was a Granville Island radler btw. I ordered a Heineken and my friend ordered the yummy sounding spicy passionfruit margarita. My beer came fairly quick but no margarita. Then the young waitress came out to say that our food would take a bit longer to come out since they were a bit slammed with orders and asked if we wanted any appetizers. We decided we'd be ok, and decided to wait. One hour later!!!!! I'm not joking, one hour later, the margarita drink came out. Again, we noticed very young and probably newly hired staff attempting to make drinks. When this $19 drink came out, it looked like the rim of salt was touched with fingers and a lot of it was missing. However, my friend desperate for a drink or morsel of anything, decided to just have it as it came. She said it was delicious and the best thing she had. One hour and a half later!!! Our food came out. My medium rare lamb was cooked through and the pasta with red sauce came out with a cream sauce, but there was NO way we were going to send anything back as we were pretty hangry at this point. The potatoes were delicious, the rice extremely plain. All 8 of us agreed that for the price, service and quality of food, we would not be returning, although my friend said if the passionfruit drink was on the happy hour menu, she would consider it. All in all, very disappointed.
