Fire amy she is so bad. everyone else there is good except her and she made my nails 3 times shorter than I wanted them and they are SO thick it's hard to do literally anything

Hands down the BEST nail salon in north county. I've been a regular here for almost 1.5 years. They are kind, clean, quick and professional with prices you cannot beat. Trust me, I've been to many salons in the area. Every time Linda does my nails they are perfect. John, Ben and the rest of staff are wonderful too. Their waxer (I can't remember her name) is VERY good and the only person I trust with my brows. Thank you NC for making me look good!

If you need a full set of acrylics this is the place to go to! I have been loving my two recent set of nails from "The nail master John" (my nickname for him) and cannot recommend him enough. I am very picky at where I get my nails done and really pay attention to the technique of not only the nail polish application but the prep work of the actual acrylic. I always get so many compliments on my nails and John always executes my visions perfectly. read more

I have had many dip polishes done on my nails and it's a process that takes some time and practice. Although very nice the person who did my nails had little knowledge of what he was doing. My nails are lumpy, I have missing polish on the corner of one of my nails, they are way to thick, and the top coat has bubbles. Honestly they look like I did them myself instead of a professional. I couldn't be more disappointed and especially with the price I paid to get them done. And then they rushed me out of the chair to get the next person in while I was attempting to put my shoes on. The reason for getting the two stars is the salon was clean and the people seemed very nice other wise a goose egg. Would I go back - no! In fact as soon as I can I will go someplace else to have my nails redone! read more

This place hires manicurists who do not have licenses the poor girl did not even know how to make my nails the same length! And when I asked to see her license, they scrambled for a long time and I think they brought me someone else's because the names didn't even match. I was having a gel mani and she used regular nail polish ! When I kept trying to explain to her that she wasn't using the color I chose (as well), she didn't understand and the manager took over. Open on Sunday...Yay. I got a eyebrow wax and a pedicure and both were good. The technician was a little rough and didn't seem to speak or understand English so I was kind of concerned about what I was signing up for. Fortunately I received the base manicure which is what I wanted. He did use rubber gloves during the pedicure which always bothers me. Doesn't feel the same. I guess I get it though. I wouldn't want to be touching anyone's feet either. The main draw to this place to me is the Sunday hours. And they have plenty of choices of the bright orange that I always wear. A lot of shops don't carry it. So this will be on my pedicure rotation. read more

Always good! Yan and Natalie are both great nail techs, and the price is great. The gel polish stays nice for at least two weeks. It's better to make an appointment, but they can usually take you as a walk-in. read more

I have gotten my nails there quite often, and have been extremely satisfied, yet not today. I had an appointment, arrived 5 minutes early, and no one acknowledged me. The owner was at the check-in desk, and I gave her my name and appointment time, and she walked away. I sat down waiting 15 minutes, and still no one greeted me. I LOVE this place and Yan and the rest of staff are fabulous! Yan has remembered me every time I come in for a pedi even though it has been years since she has serviced my needs. They are thorough, kind, prices are great and by far, this is the longest-lasting pedicure I have ever gotten. I keep coming back because it lasts almost a month or more! I have not had a bad experience here, ever and have never witnessed poor service or an upset client. Check them out, you'll love it! read more

I went to this place on Friday to get a manicure and pedicure. There were many things that were not good about this place at all. They did my pedicure first and made me wait an hour while they did everyone else that came in after me and then did my manicure. For the manicure, it looks ok but they did not fix my cuticles when I asked them to. The WORST thing was that their machines and practices were very unsanitary. I got athlete's foot from going to their business. I've never gotten athlete's foot before and I strongly recommend not going here for pedicures. read more

I waiting for almost 40mins to be helped (I wanted a gel pedi) which was fine had they sat me down with some water while I waited! Instead I sat on a waterless seat... then when I was finally helped, I asked for the Deluxe pedi but I'm confused as to what was "deluxe" about it since she just painted my toes, no massage or callus removal. I wanted a relaxing time, but I definitely did not get it. My nails were not done that great. It was a mediocre job and the place wasn't even packed. Very disappointed. I'll go back to my usual place. read more

It was for a full body wax, but when I called to make the appointment, Minda just kept saying "it's soooo much work". I told her that it's fine, I won't buy it if she doesn't want to do it. She said she would still honor the deal but kept repeating it's so much work and would take hours and that Groupon was supposed to take the ad down. It felt like she wanted me to offer to pay more, but I just said it sounds like she doesn't want to do it so I can go elsewhere and she said she would prefer that. I think turning someone away in that way was unprofessional and it made me really uncomfortable that she kept telling me how much work it is. She had to even out my nails and get the cuticles in order. I had cut my own gel covered nails prior and that was a mistake because it made them more uneven Jennifer spent a lot of time getting my toes in order. My appointment was at 4:15 and I didn't get finished till 545 pm. I left my Stanley there , and Jennifer called me and waited for me to return to pick it up which was after closing . also a quick note: Jennifer take Venmo or cash.

I came here a few times before, and I usually have Nancy take care of my nails, and I always have great experience. But today was a whole other level of experience. I took my friend to treat her to her birthday. Before we get sitted. I went to their restroom, and when I came out, I saw a huge mouse under their lunch table, biting on a used buffer. There were 3 small silver trash bins, one was a bit open, and I saw many used files and buffers in there. I am hoping they are not reusing those ones on their customers. So gross and unsanitary!! I will not be back!!! The tech worked on my nails was Lili or Lily. She was awful. She not only cut me in a few places, she painted all over my skin. She did a pinching motion to massage me, and oh boy, it hurts!!! My friend also had a bad experience with her technician. Her lady rushed through her pedicure so fast and went to the next customer. I think her pedicure lasted about 14-16 mins. We can't relax because the other technicians in the salon were speaking loudly and laughing at something. It was a hectic, disappointing experience. Mouse, reused files/buffers and got cut. I came home and removed my polish from today because it was uneven and all over my skin. read more

I wish I could give Yan 10 stars! First of all, she's an artist. She is also such a professional expert and has such an incredible understanding of nail aesthetics. We spoke about the three components of applying false nails- the application of the acrylic/gel, the nail filing/shaping, and the final step- colored polish. She absolutely aced every step! She is my favorite nail tech that I've ever been serviced by over the years. She's also such a sweetheart and very friendly. I've been here a few times, but I'd especially recommend her to anyone who's interested in getting their nails done. She's always improving and working on her game, and -that growth mindset will take her far in the industry. overall- I was very impressed by her knowledge and immaculate execution. She's well rounded and I'll be visiting her for ALL of my nail needs. who cares about the facility when the service by Yan is worth so much more than she charges?? The prices are very reasonable and budget friendly. -what I asked for: a natural nail shape and a color matching my skin tone -what I recieved: a natural nail shape tailored to my fingers + hand shape, and a color perfectly tailored to my undertone. read more

First and foremost, the owner here is rude and obnoxious! Natalie or Kim messed up our appointment every time! Stop answering the phone if you can't take down the appointment properly!!! We sometimes waited 30 minutes or more because she didn't write or forgot whose appointment to take down. Her husband John also messed up our appointment many times. He would ask us to wait for 5 mins, then another 5 mins, ended up to be 30 minutes to 45mins. Sad to realize we will never come back! They really need to hire a cleaner or do a deep cleaning before and after the salon open. It's super dirty!!! The spa chairs are full of dusty and powdery from the fake nails they drill, and the spa chairs jet are disgusting with broken parts that cut my wife feet. Most of the staff are rude and seem to bad mouth the guests, except the young lady who speaks English very well and only works on the weekends, wish we got her name. She has only been working there for a short time. She did an amazing job on my wife pedicure, gel manicure, and facial. Thank you for making our last visit so relaxed and lovely!!! read more

I took my mom and sister in law here for our birthday celebration. Amy did my gel manicure and pedicure. And I can't remember the other two ladies who worked on my sister in law and my mom. My sister is half Vietnamese, half Indian. Amy was speaking Vietnamese the whole time we were there with her colleagues. Laughing and having a food time, I was actually happy to see how happy they were at work. After we left is when I found out she was making fun of an elderly customer in the salon. From what my sister in law said, they were all talking so much shit about the elderly customer. Things I will not want to repeat on here. However, my family, friends, and I will never support this business!!! And we will never be back!!!! Shame on them for making fun of customers!!! What is so funny about hurting someone else!!! I just moved to North County and have been in search for a new nail salon. After a few disappointing trials at other nail salons I am happy to say I finally found my go to place! For me customer service is such a big factor in determining my loyalty to an establishment. Here at NC nails I was greeted immediately and offered a cup of coffee(Keurig yay) and given the newest issue of "people". Another plus was the selection of colors and variety of brands. I am partial to OPI or Orly which they had both. Very clean and they played pandora in the background. The owner(I am assuming he was the owner) was present and very friendly. You could tell he takes pride in his establishment. A basic pedi will run you $19 while a gel mani will run you $25. Super reasonable! read more

My husband is in the military so i have moved quite a bit in the past 5 years and i have to say this salon is in the top 3 ive ever been to. I walked in on a saturday with hopes of getting a mani-pedi at any point that day and the manager, Yen, while working, shuffled her day just enough to fit me in 10 minutes after walking in the door. I thought she had rescheduled another client to fit me in, which is understandable, but it ends up she didnt take her lunch in order to take care of me. On top of that, she did a great job and left me with complimentary cuticle oil out of her pocket to upkeep my brittle nails. I cant say enough good things about this salon. I will never go anywhere else as long as im in san diego. read more

I came for the first time on Saturday to NC's Nails to get a pedicure/ manicure. The pedi/mani was OK, not that great. However, I discovered a diamond in this place, Nancy!!! She did my facial, omgoodness what a gift!!! She was so knowledgeable and so great to talk to. She also lifted and tinted my eyelashes. She was honest about the Lash extension process and maintaining, which I appreciate so very much. She explained carefully about all the options I have to choose from, the pros and cons of each service. She's so helpful, knowledgeable, passionate, and kind from the beginning. I called and made an appointment to see Nancy. The owner said she was there, but when I arrived, Nancy wasn't there. They insisted someone else can wax for me. I was a bit skeptical, but since I am already there, I will give it a try. Omgoodness, it was a mistake!!! The tech burned one of my brows and part of my lip. She kept apologizing, I asked her if I could see her esthetician license. She refused to show me her license and walked away. I told someone working at the front desk of my experience, and they kept speaking to one another without acknowledging my concerns. I paid and left without wanting to be there any longer. The service here was awful!!! They spoke in Vietnamese to poke fun at the clients. I am a business owner and value and worship my clients. And yet, the people here are mean and rude!!! My techs were Ckin (chin) and Linda. They were spoken harshly at one of client before me. They were laughing and poking fun at the client weight. Awful place to come!!! It's beyond dirty. There are bugs/roaches crawling in the restroom and on the walkway. They have some small trash can labeled "trash," but those trash can contain reused files/buffers and toes separators. I can't believe I have been going here for the last two years. No, thank you!!!! I was here over the weekend with my girlfriends, I had an awful pedicure from one of their tech. She cut me and didn't even acknowledge or clean it properly for me. I was still bleeding when I got home. However, my friend had Nancy, and she said it was one of the best pedicures she had. So, not everyone here is bad. After asking me how much shorter I wanted them, she actually handed me the nail clippers and suggested that I clip my own nails. I declined because I was there to receive a professional service. During the manicure, she accidentally filed into my skin, causing it to bleed slightly, and then immediately applied alcohol to the area, which was quite painful. She also grabbed the wrong polish color and generally seemed distracted and careless throughout the appointment. To top it off, the service ended abruptly. There was no hand massage or lotion application, which has always been part of my previous manicures. Instead, she put a small amount of cuticle oil on my nails and told me to rub my own hands together. Overall, the entire experience felt uncomfortable from start to finish. I felt judged for wanting shorter nails, and the service came across as rushed, inattentive, and unprofessional. I've had much better experiences at this salon in the past, which made this visit especially disappointing.
