Decided to try this place as I heard that it was like an Indian version of Chipotle, and that is a good way to describe this place. I am all about convenience, so I love that this place is good for take out. The set up is almost exactly like that of Chipotle. The menu is simple but inclusive, which I think is good for Indian food because at traditional restaurants, you might not know what certain menu items look like if you haven't seen them before. I got a bowl with lamb, makhani sauce, lettuce, and rice. As a side, I got the vegetable samosas. I also got the mango lassi. The food was very good and authentic. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The makhani was not as sweet as I usually like, but it was good. The vegetable samosas were excellent, and full of potatoes. The mango lassi was thick and rich. Overall, good food and convenient. However, I have to give only 4 stars due to the potion sizes for the price. The bowl was 7.99 plus 2.99 for the lamb, which I thought would be included with the price of the bowl. So for the bowl in the picture, I paid about $11. The whole meal, with samosas and lassi, was $17. There are a lot of traditional sit-down indian restaurants where you could get more food for this price. But, you can't beat the convenience. read more

I saw an ad for this place and it just sounded so good that I went there the same day. It's similar to Chipotle in how you order. I had no idea what I was doing when I went and the workers were very patient in explaining everything. I ended up with a bowl that had quinoa, spring mix and lamb. I can't tell you the rest of my toppings but it was good! So flavorful! I also added on the vegan Mac salad, which was a little spicy but still good. It's excellent for what it is, that being said if you're looking for more authentic Indian or high-end dining this is not it. Sauces are tasty, pretty standard. My good friend introduced us to this place, and I gotta say, it's fantastic, I mean, naan-tastic. Jp, couldn't help myself. But it's really good, like most people have said before me. Parking is plenty, not an issue. It's the pick-what-you-want concept similar to pizza chains. You can order in bowl, roll, or naan taco ($1 extra on top of $8). I went with the garlic naan, lamb, "screamin' vindaloo" sauce (I love spicy with a high tolerance level and it's about 7/10; garlic, ginger, and onion based - all the good stuff), and a healthy mix of veggies. I wouldn't call this traditional Indian, but it's a great on-to-go option for a good, quick meal. They do use their family (Thali of India) recipes for the base proteins and then add some flair with extras by making it a bowl, naan taco, atop fries, etc. I think it's a great starting point to get people to try something new so they can branch out. My favorite is anything with the lamb. I like to get the tumeric rice bowl with garlic naan on the side (they warm it up for you, mmm). Then you can add all the fresh veggie toppings. I enjoy a spicy sauce and opt for the screamin' vindaloo to pair with a cooling sauce like the cucumber raita (yogurt based) and the cilantro mint. Everything is labeled if it's gluten free or vegan, which is awesome. I also enjoy grabbing a samosa or two on the side. The staff is absolutely the best. Everyone is kind and friendly. They offered recommendations for additional toppings and good flavor pairings. While I was sitting down, they came over to see if the food was tasting good and if I needed anything. In a setup menu akin to CoreLife and Moe's, they have a great idea of how to make this work! Channa masala, Paneer, Chicken, Swai fish fry, Beef steak...and more! I went for the bowl, and tried a mix of chicken and paneer, slathered them in Dad's Sweet Makhani on top of a bed of rice and fries with additions of feta and cucumber raita. My wife loves Indian food but it took a bit to convince her to try this fast-casual version of Indian. When all was said and done she gave it a thumbs up and would return (but not to replace a proper Indian meal). We stopped before a movie at the nearby Regal since we needed something fast and with some help from the worker we figured out all of the choices. If you are bad at decision making avoid this place. We were advised to get the bowl and order naan on the side since you get more food that way vs. having an "Indian taco". I still don't understand having a finishing sauce on top of the main sauce (I tried the slammin masala) - I got the finishing sauce on the side and used it to dip the naan. The chicken tikka was good as were the toppings though they were out of a couple options. Overall it was pretty darn tasty for about $10/ person. read more

This place is phenomenal!! Walking in, we were greeted by a group of employees that were smiling and laughing as they explained with great enthusiasm all of our options. They offered up samples and recommended some of their favorites to us. They truly made us feel so happy and excited to be there. Clearly, they must treat their staff very well to be so blissful!! I ordered the chicken bowl with greens and added in the voodoo spice along with a variety of toppings and it had the perfect amount of heat for a spicy Indian fan. The other bowl we choose tamarin rice with a sweeter sauce and loaded it with toppings. We added On a side of naan for $1 as well. I should start by saying that Indian food would not be a usual choice for me. But I heard so many great things on Yelp, that I decided to try it out. Paneer is one of the available proteins, so it sounded like it could work for me. It is just like Chipotle, so I walked up and ordered a "roll it". It's basically a burrito, and the wrap part was very good. I got rice and Paneer as the base. I didn't get any sauce because I didn't think I'd like any of them. I got lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese inside. I wanted a finishing sauce, but I didn't get one, which I will explain later. I also got a side of the Punjabi mac. The burrito was ok, but it was very dry. I didn't really like the rice, I didn't even realize that french fries were an option, but I'd probably do the spring mix if I went back. If someone else ordered it and didn't tell me, if you told me the Paneer was tofu, I wouldn't have questioned it. It tasted very much like cubed tofu to me. It was fine, but it was nothing special. I would have liked it better with some sour cream and guacamole, which is probably one of the main reasons this place isn't for me! :) I did not like the Punjabi mac at all. It is cold, like a macaroni salad, and has little spicy pieces in it, like peppers or something. The noodles did not taste like anything, and I would definitely not get that again. I am glad I came here to try it, and I didn't like the mac, but that's fine. But the main issue I had here was that it was too loud for me to order anything or ask questions. The music was very loud, and the glass in front of the food is very tall. I am pretty short, so it made it impossible for me to hear. The first guy was outside of the glass, and I heard him ok. The two people making my food down the line, I really could not hear. I had some questions about what things were, and the finishing sauces, but I couldn't ask them because I couldn't hear them. The last guy asked me if I wanted it "for here or to go". I literally had to ask him to repeat himself twice. That is the extent that I couldn't hear him. Once I got to the cashier, she was outside the glass, and I could hear her ok, but still not well. She was very friendly and asked me how my day was going, but it wasn't easy to hear her either. I know saying it was too loud sounds kind of silly, but when you go to a new restaurant and you can't hear well enough to order, I think it's a problem. I don't think I'll be back just because the food isn't really my style, but if someone asked me to go here, I'd be ok with trying it again. I've been to Naan-Tastic so many times and I love it. It's so good and delicious. However, after going so many times, I started to notice some things that could be changed. For one, it gets way too greasy at the bottom and maybe this is because the rice to sauce proportion isn't correct, but either way, the grease could definitely be cut down. Second, I've always gotten paneer in the past because it's so good and I love paneer, but this time I decided to get something different. I got the lamb. And the lamb was delicious and all, but it was way too salty and way too greasy. I felt like I was just putting salt directly in my mouth. This also isn't the case with just the lamb, the paneer is way too salty as well but the lamb just made me realize how salty it is. Overall, consider cutting back on the salt and the grease, but other than that keep up the good work! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect coming in. I love the fast casual set up and customizable aspect of the restaurant. Everything is modern and gives Indian cuisine a certain approachability. You don't have to sit down and order from a menu which is super convenient. The flavors were spot on, which is not surprising considering it is the same family that owns Thali of India. You can have things bowl, taco, or naan taco style, with a couple hundred possible combinations of proteins, sauces & free add-ons. Their beer dispensing system is remarkable, and worthy of more study (6-8 beers worth, at least). Back to Mark, he loves what he does, and it shows! This one deserves a five star! My wife and I visited this Chipotle style Indian restaurant/ joint for dinner when we were in Rochester, NY. This place was pouring with people from all the ethnicities. Felt really good and proud to see people forming lines to have Indian food. From ambience to service to the food, this place did not disappoint us. The servers behind the counter explained the serving style and size, she let us sample all of their curries and chutneys. When I went to the counter for an extra naan, they gave it to us complementary (it costs $1) and said we can do this for our guests. We got huge portions of food. I loved their tikka curry. For the meats, go for half and half. It does not even provide two meats but gives a good quantity. I took chicken and lamb and both were delicious. Do not forget to take their pistachio caramel gulab jamun desert. It's a traditional Indian desert topped with pistachios and caramel sauce... yummm!! Do get a picture on the bike and read the description of all the spices used in Indian food while waiting in the line. Pretty good spot, I've always wanted to try this type of Chipotle-style Indian food. I think it's pretty good given the complex cuisine and considering the fast food nature of it. It's hard to pull off but they managed to make it work with the different curries paired with the proteins. For example: Sweet Makahni curry paired with the paneer or the chicken can give you a good chicken tikka/paneer makahni style curry. I did 2 naan taco things, one with chicken and the slammin' masala and one with paneer and the sweet makahni. I added a little bit everything for toppings and added the Rita and tamarind sauce. The Sweet Makahni was a bit sweet for me but it's def a good intro for someone getting into Indian Food. I really loved the Slammin Masala And Chicken pairing. Tasted delicious with the rice and toppings and having the naan to eat with it was worth the price. I think it could be more organized or the menu could be easier understand cause we were with a couple of older people and they were a bit confused but it's just a minor takeaway. This place is great! I haven't had Indian food quite like this. This would definitely fall under the fast food category but with twice the quality and nutritional value. It's reasonably priced too. Paid around $25 for everything you see in the picture. I had a bowl with a naan base, turmeric rice and makhani gravy and chicken (you could substitute chicken for chickpeas curry which I hear is delish. An additional protein is $2 extra so I picked the chicken as my protein and added plain boiled chickpeas from the salad bar instead). They also offer qinuoa instead of rice for a healthier option which I thought was great since quinoa isn't traditionally used in Indian cuisine. Cilantro, mint chutney is a must. So is the chili garlic chutney. I got a lil bit of both. Aloo tikki was good but not great. I found it a tad soggy. I'll definitely visit again though! read more

I think a prerequisite of coming here is to be acquainted with Indian food. There was no line for an early lunch, so the staff was very helpful in stepping me through the process. I chose a bowl with mixed greens, half chicken and half beef, a recommended sauce and variety of toppings. What I got was filling and tasty, a bit lingering on the spicy side, but satisfying for $10. I'm not sure what I'd change the next time. They should have some prefixed combos for beginners where you can subtract something if you wish. I will preface my review by saying that I am Desi, so my experience with Naan-tactic might be flavored by the proximity to my heritage. Naan-tastic is great if you are craving Indian-like food for a slightly lower price than the average Indian restaurant. Portion sizes are definitely smaller than the average Indian restaurant.
