I placed an order directly on their website. I waited for at least 15 or 20 minutes only to find that apparently they didn't have my order. We have ordered from them at least twice before, and the food was good. This time the Kachumber salad had no tomatoes and was definitely not as good as previously. My family and I tried Haveli tonight while we're visiting Rochester because a gentleman staying in our hotel got some takeout from here. The food smelled heavenly. We shared the vegetarian appetizer platter, while one kid and I shared saag paneer. The paneer was silky and smooth, the saag was delicious, and the appetizers were crispy and satisfying. My wife and other child each got a chicken dish, which they both raved about. We also shared a plate of naan which was warm, soft, and delightful. Cauliflower pakora was good, even for takeout. Wasn't particularly wild about the paneer pakora, it was a little too soggy over time, probably better fresh. The vegetable samosa was well spiced though! Paneer makhani was a very light (rather than heavy) gravy and was a little milder in spice and a bit blander than I expected. I wasn't going to leave a bad review, but I ordered take out on Saturday 7/29, and your cashier Srijana added $1 tip to my card without my permission, thinking I won't notice. Well I noticed, and I'll be disputing with my credit card. So here's the negative review: 1. I ordered Saag Paneer spicy and with less paneer. It was neither spicy, and it SO much paneer that I had to throw it out. 2. I ordered Mint Paratha, instead I received regular Paratha. 3. On a previous order, July 15, I had ordered delivery through Uber Eats. You didn't include the Salty Lassi that I had made with that order. Mistakes happen, bad food happens. I am forgiving about that. But don't try to steal and cheat from your customers especially if they have ordered multiple times like I have. See pictures below for yourself. We haven't had too much Indian food. The buffet was a good way to try different dishes. I thought $18 was a little pricey for what we ate.

Fantastic lunch buffet. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The naan was about as fresh as possible - brought to our table hot & delicious.

I won't usually leave a review for a restaurant that I have only visited once, but I was only in Henrietta for a couple of days. This food was great. The service was good and personable, along with a pretty good value. I've tried all the henrietta Indian buffet restaurants and haveli is my favorite. I prefer Haveli over Raj Mahal and Tandor specifically. Everything is consistantly good. At other restaurants, it's hit or miss wether every dish will be good or not. At Haveli, you at least know everything will be good. Other places may have a dish or two that are better but I like the variety and consistant quality of every dish. I only come for the lunch buffet given that its far from home. I have heard there is no buffet at night sometimes so definitely call ahead. My favorite dish is the Saag Paneer. It tastes like creamed spinach and tofu with curry seasoning. The desserts really stand out. Best gulab jamun (I probably butchered that spelling) that I've had. Think of a cold pancake ball that's dunked in runny syrup. I'm not doing it justice with that description but make sure to try it and check out the picture I included. The yogurt rice pudding is also good. They regularly have free drinks available. Sometimes it's hot tea, sometimes a yogurt mango smoothy, coffee, or even iced tea. Naan is not on the buffet but they will bring it out for free after you sit. Not much of an alcohol selection but that's to be expected. read more

Waited for two orders to publish this updated review. Disappointed with both orders since Haveli has maintained the quality and authenticity of the food so far but some issues have been observed now. Order #1: Medu Vada (doughnut shaped appetizer) was not cooked inside as the batter was raw and inedible. We had to throw these away. The complimentary rice was not given with our entree. I saw this when I reached home and it was too late at night to return all the way from home to the restaurant to show them, being hungry for dinner time. Order #2: Our usual Paneer (cottage cheese) entree which usually has a yellow curry for medium spice level, had an orange curry this time. This matched exactly with the curry for the other entree Malai Kofta. Both are different entrees. The Malai Kofta (dumplings made of veggies and cheese) were raw in the inside, not cooked fully and thoroughly when fried. The curries were salty. We had to throw it away. Only the Hyderabadi Biryani was the shining knight in armor that saved the day in Order #1 Garlic Naan was good but an Indian restaurant must get their Naan right. read more

We met some friends here for dinner last night, and I can say I was thoroughly impressed! This was our first time coming here, as we usually go to another Indian restaurant, but they are only doing Takeout/Delivery at this time. So we thought we'd try Haveli. The service was wonderful right from the start. The host was friendly, helpful and extremely attentive the whole time we were there. The food was exceptional. Well-spiced, and tasty. I had the Paneer Xacuti, which was cubed paneer, in a tomato based sauce, with coconut, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and other spices. I ordered it 'Hot,' and it was perfect! Creamy, with complex flavors from the spices. I also had an Onion Kulcha, which is basically an onion-stuffed Naan. It was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, with nicely caramelized onions in every bite. The food was all served hot and fresh. Overall, we all really enjoyed our experience here. I have to admit, I was a little weary after reading other reviews, but Haveli really exceeded my expectations! This was "Indian Food" weekend for me here in the ROC. After Friday night take-out at Thali of India, Haveli was next on the list. It was also a lot closer to the expressway to get down to my sister's. Anyways. Since I'm new to Indian food, I looked ahead at their online menu which was very good/informative. This is what I ended up select for my sister and I to sample: Vegetable Samosas - didn't care for the combination of spices, and I think the potato was too heavy for me. Shrimp Pakora - My sister's favorite was very good, though a bit on the salty side. Chicken Tikka Biryani - It was good. I think I liked this dish better at Thali. I ordered to compare. I liked that it had cashews mixed in, but it was lacking in vegetables that I would have liked. It also didn't have as much chicken - so Thali definitely has a better dish for the price. The sauce was better though - had carrots in it. Bhindi Masala - We both like it though it was a quite oily/greasy. I ordered ahead and it was about a 20 minute wait time. Perfect for me to get there from up on the north side of town. The staff was friendly and helpful. I stopped in during the early afternoon, and the buffet was still going on and the place was packed. Had to park in the back, and walked through the dining area in back to get up front. It was really crowded back there which I take as a great sign! I would go back - but I just give it 3 stars because nothing really sticks out to me as extra-ordinary or fabulous. Maybe I'll have more to say if I sit down and eat there. read more

What am interesting clientele this ... uh ... place ... has. When we got there (silly me, I had actually booked a "reservation" online in case they were busy; they weren't) and mentioned the "reservation" to the poor waif pouring the water for the ... uh ... clientele ... the waif looked at me blankly with a "what?" and I repeated myself. I got a "what?" in return. My wife stepped in as I started to repeat myself a second time. The blank look remained. We just gestured toward one of the two open uh ... "booths." In one were two guys of probable Asian subcontinent descent. One was leaving. One was bent over his phone babbling loudly and with a great slur to his foreign-sounding words. Even seated he was bobbing and weaving and it looked like his head was going to fall into his biryani. He was clearly very inebriated. Very. We went to the astonishingly unimpressive "buffet." A few veg things in trays and a few chicken things in trays. Some vague dessert things in another buffet cart. None looked terribly appetizing. The veg dishes like the saag paneer (or a close resemblance thereto) tasted, well, bland and even "stale." Not fresh is another way to put it, and with very little seasoning one not born in that part off the world comes to expect. The lentil preparation tasted similarly, uh ... flavorless. The chicken makhani had a mild, perceivable flavor to it and the chicken was tender. So, there was that. The Tandoor chicken had some red stuff on it but that's where the resemblance to Tandoor chicken stopped. It was dry and strangely devoid of anything you could say was "Tandoor" or "chicken" or "taste." But it had plenty of rubbery "texture." Now more about the guy in the other booth. He eventually turned so his legs were over the edge of the booth facing the aisle. He started bobbing and weaving some more in his valiant attempt to remain upright. And this at 12:15 in the afternoon. Honest to gawd I expected him to come over, ask me for five bucks and vomit on my shoes. Instead, he got up, bobbed, weaved and slurred his way over to the cash register and proceeded to loudly babble away in his native tongue with one of the workers, his audience (everyone in the "restaurant") having tired rather completely of his boring act. Next I thought he would probably throw up all over the cash register because his head kept bobbing low toward it as he regaled the employee with tale after tale of something or other. Eventually he left. I was afraid he would go throw up on my car. He didn't. He's probably passed out somewhere along East Henrietta Road. Or still babbling to himself. Really, folks, this guy was kind of like an old fashioned "floor show" but in this case we didn't have to pay a cover charge for the "entertainment." We frequent Thali of India on Winton road, and you should, too. Not this place. Unless you like mediocre food and risking some drunk possibly puking all over your meal. read more

The food is spot on delicious! The service is friendly and speedy. The ambiance is nice and decorated with traditional Indian paintings and decor. There is air conditioning inside which makes for a comfortable setting. The menu is huge with close to 5 pages of options varying from vegetarian to meat entrees.
