Nabil is a truly fair and honest businessman. Out of 10 "electronics repair" businesses I called he was the only one who responded saying he could do the job. That made me apprehensive from the start that he was the only one who would attempt making the repair so i had my guard up big time but let me tell you it turned out to be one of the best experiences I have ever had procuring services of any kind! You see the key to my car is an electronic key that emits an ultraviolet light to unlock the steering column and allow you to start the car (a way overly complicated anti - theft system but that is another whole story). A very tiny but critical component on the circuit board of that key (my only key so my car is completely useless to me without it) broke off rendering the key a useless key chain ornament that did nothing when I stuck it into the ignition. It wouldn't unlock the steering column or allow me to turn the ignition to start my car. I called around before finding Nabil's Electronic's Repair and I was looking at a minimum $400 to to replace the key and also need to have my car towed to the dealership so they could pair the new key to the car. Or a locksmith specializing in my make of car said he would come to my house and do it for $500. Basically $500 anyway the cookie crumbles for a new key. Repair was my only option but nobody wanted to touch this job despite my offering to sign to indemnify them if they couldn't fix it. Everybody I talked too said they could not get that competent new anywhere. I just wanted someone to try in hopes of not losing the $500 two weeks before Christmas. Nabil not only fixed my electronic key (it is working perfectly now) he was able to take the broken component itself, repair it and then supplant it back to the circuit board in perfect working order. He even fixed a non essential button on the other side of the board at no additional cost. Moreover, I told him upfront how much a new key would have cost me and he didn't use that against me in the pricing of his services in the least. He shredded the cost of what it would have cost me to replace by more than 90%. His work and craftsmanship showed he was a true tradesman and on top of all of that he allowed me to take my key home to test it to make sure it worked before he required payment becasue he stated from the get go "I do not want to charge you if I cannot fix it". Every other person I know would still charge you for labor whether they fixed your issue or not. So as I read some of these other reviews and see some of those with negative comments and low rating I ask were you really fair to him? I would suspect you were not. I had trouble with my Garmin Oregon GPS's port when connecting it to my computer to download files. After doing research online, Nabil explained exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. I asked for a quote to fix it, and he quickly responded and let me know the cost. It was reasonable and I sent my GPS to him and he had it repaired within a day of receiving it. After a couple of weeks, I still hadn't received my GPS back, so I contacted him and he showed me the USPS tracking number which showed it had been shipped back to me shortly after he received it and repaired it. Long story short, the USPS lost my package in transit and after lots of back and forth between myself, the post office and Nabil, the post office said I was out of luck and they wouldn't honor their priority shipping warranty or refund me any of the cost of my GPS. Although he would be shortchanged in the process due to no fault of his own, Nabil refunded me half of the repair cost. Fast forward to today, two months later, and my GPS finally arrived via Priority Mail. The Post Office customer service sucks, but Nabil is a man of his word and does quality repairs. I will definitely do business with him again, but choose another shipping service next time. Thanks Nabil! (I don't understand the bad reviews due to him working out of his home. As an international customer, I recently employed Nabil's Electronics Repair to repair two generations of Garmin GPS units that I owned...Both units had the typical power cord socket issue and Garmin customer service was no assistance in finding me a repair solution other than to replace it...Nabil fixed both units at the quoted price...The total turn around time for repair and shipping was less than three weeks... I am very delighted with this business's communication and professionalism and I could care little that the gent works out of his residence...In fact, I believe, I got better service from a home based business that what I would have received from a "big box" or chain store repair service.. I sent an e-mail to Nablis Electronics to find out if he could possibly repair my Garmin Approach Golf GPS unit. I sent it to him for evaluation and estimate and got a returned response within a short period of time. He gave me what I thought was a fair quote on repairs with a promise not to charge me if he could not fix it. I sent my Golf Gps unit to him first class mail and got it back fully repaired within a week. He even drove around for several miles to a few different golf courses to insure that it was working properly! This Garmin Golf GPS was given to me as a gift from my wife a few years ago and means a lot to me and that is why I wanted it fixed instead of buying a new unit. My Garmin GPS had a battery terminal break. Garmin refused to even discuss servicing it. This model GPS is a specialty high accuracy unit that costs $500 new. In desperation, I searched the internet and stumbled upon Nabils Electronics repair. He runs his business very no frills, and has some slightly unconventional methods, including just contacting him via email (he is right on top of email by the way), giving a quote in response, and then having you mail the item along with payment ($50 in my case). I realized when I mailed it that it was very possible I would never see my unit or the $50 ever again, but I had a good feeling about this one. Right on! My Garmin nuvi 2595LM stopped charging. I found Nabil's with google and youtube. I called and was provided very succinct information. Not pushy, or a bunch of fluff. I was told he'd be able to repair it as it is a common issue, but not likely to happen again after the repair. I shipped it via USPS priority mail on Tuesday. He received it Thursday and diagnosed it and had repaired it by Friday. I received it in the mail today, Monday. Quick service, fair price. It is good to support small businesses. I didn't have to pay until he had diagnosed the issue. I would recommend his service. It saved me from purchasing a new GPS unit. I'd say, "I'll use him again," but I believe I may not need to after this repair. read more

I sent my Garmin GPS from upstate New York to Nabils Electronics Repair to be fixed. Within one week I had my GPS back in perfect working condition at a very reasonable cost. I am not sure why another reviewer gave only one star just because Nabils is a home based repair service. I wish there was a reliable repair service close enough to where I live so that I could have dropped off my GPS instead of having to pay seven dollars both ways for shipping. My Garmin Nuvi 1450 GPS would no longer charge. Narrowed the trouble down to the mini jack. Did a little searching and Nabils came up. Got a very quick reply each time I emailed. Like the other reviewer, I had my fixed GPS back in my hands within a week. The charge was less than half what Garmin wanted ($110) for the same work. The microphone on my baby monitor stopped working, so I called Nabil's Electronics to inquire about repairing. I dropped off the monitor around 4:00 pm and was surprised to receive a text around 8:30 the next morning saying it was ready. I was very happy with the quick turnaround time, pleased with the great customer service, and thrilled with the extremely reasonable charge for the repair! I found Nabils online. I spoke to him on the phone and agreed to mail my Garmin to him. I prepaid him with paypal. He repaired it and returned it for the quoted price. The whole transaction using USPS priority mail was about a week. He returned it to me priority mail which was included in the quoted price. I live in Washington. I had a very good experience. My Garmin had a broken USB port, and my map subscription was worth too much to simply buy another unit. I mailed it with tracking, he had it repaired within a day of receiving it, and I had it back in my hands 6 days later, repaired, for a reasonable price. read more

My Garmin Oregon 450 power on/off switch failed recently. He was able to search and find a suitable replacement which actually works MUCH better than the original. He has repaired my previous Nuvi 2595. I HIGHLY recommend him. read more
