Not a bad way to get to the slopes for the day, but I found the particular bus I was on rather uncomfortable. I'm relatively tall (for a female.. probably close to average for a male) and could not get my legs under the seat in front of me. The seats are so close together that my calves would hit the seat when I tried to straighten my knees, so I had to sit there with my knees against the back of the seat in front of me the whole 5.5 hours. Arriving at a ski area with sore and tired knees is a bad way to start a ski trip. The "host" was a nice enough guy and had a movie to plan on the way back (one I wanted to see, in fact) but the screen nearest to me was broken and it blocked my view of the only other on in front of me. The bus was on time and the driver seemed skilled enough and I appreciated the friendliness of the host, but there were enough inconveniences and disappointments that I can't *highly* recommend this as a great experience, though it was probably better than driving up and back in one day by myself. read more

Went on the trip to kirkwood on 3/27. We got to the meeting point in milpitas at 5am and waited until 5:20, 5:25 (i was a bit annoyed that they told us to get there at 5:15 for departure at 5:25 but weren't there until almost 10 min later. Though i kinda understand that this could happen since we werent the first stop). I think we got to the resort around 10:30? We stopped somewhere on hwy 88 coz we had to put on chains which made us go slower... :( though the bus driver and guide both seem very professional and capable. Ron, our guide is funny and nice (nothing against Ron but I was secretly hoping we'd get Byron since I've read he gives out snacks :p But oh well) The seats on the bus was a bit cramped though. It didn't help that I forgot my neck pillow. :/ We left pretty much on time. Though my friend got lost in the snow and didn't make it back to the bus on time and got left behind. But the bus stopped by first aid to see if my friend was there. Ron also checked back with us a couple times during the ride to see if we've heard back from my friend. Overall I had a satisfying experience. Beats Reno Tahoe ski bus any day! I'm quite a fan of taking buses esp when the weather isn't optimal for driving or you can't find enough ppl to go with you, or everybody is too damn lazy to drive. Though you do have to pray that none of these happens (Which I, unfortunately, was not able to avoid...): 1. Someone near you with terrible BO that just gets worse on the ride back. Went to Northstar with them on Sunday, Jan 8th from the Milpitas location. This was my first time using a ski bus, and I was pleasantly surprised. If you want a cheap, no frills transportation service to Tahoe, then this is the place for you. I think your experience depends largely on which tour leader and driver you get... our TL's name was Thomas (I think...). Anyways he was quick and to the point, courteous and was able to answer questions. He wasn't particularly warm or friendly, but hey... it's 4 AM, all strangers, he got the job done. A couple of people we're late... around 4:20 AM he started calling to find out where people were (4:30 AM departure). We ended up leaving around 4:32 - 4:33 as soon as the people showed up... it was nice of him to find out where they were and wait the extra couple of minutes. It was easy to board, just print out boarding pass online from your account or show them ticket on your phone. Ride there was good, made 2 stops afterwards to pick up more passengers. The bus clean and comfortable, much better than something like southwest airline seats... I was able to fall asleep within 30 minutes and then didn't wake up until we were passing Boreal. Next time, remember to bring a pillow though especially if you have 2 seats to yourself, you can prop up against the window. We ended up arriving at Northstar before 9 AM, according to my season pass tracker I got on the Gondola at 9:10 AM. The bus is quite organized... has a luggage compartment for each stop, so it makes sorting much easier and you don't have to worry about people taking your stuff when they depart. When we got there, everyone unloads and goes. Tour leader was good with people who bought tickets through them or rentals, gave them all the vouchers pretty fast. On the way back, meet up time was 4:15 PM. He advised we get to the shuttle pick up around 3:50 latest, which is what I did and got me back to the bus at 4:10. (good advice)! Water and a movie was offered on the way home... the ETA to arrive back in Milpitas was 9:05 PM but we actually arrived close to 8:30 PM. The movie was 2 fast 2 furious, not great selection but was good enough to keep my attention for 20 minutes before I fell asleep again. Overall, not a bad way to travel. I think I paid $48, which is cheaper than the $60-70 I would have spent on gas to drive. I would take this bus again if I'm snowboarding with 2 or less people... with 3 or more people I probably would just drive (quicker, cheaper, more convenient). This definitely is the way to go for a day trip, especially if you are planning to go alone. Also, for people who are iffy about the drive during the snowy season, this would not be a bad alternative as well. Would have gave it 5 stars if -tour guide a bit friendlier -snack or food -movie selection (no choice, just whatever guide put in) Will definitely use again if needed. Overall, a better than expected based on some of the reviews on yelp. First, the good. The bus was decent. The wifi didn't work and there werent any power outlets but it was clean and relatively comfortable. The legroom was tight (I'm 5-9) but I got the front seat and nobody sat next to me so it turned out pretty good. The bus arrived to pick us up on time. The price was very good. $55 round trip is an excellent price. The ONLY negative is that the driver got lost. The tour guide fell asleep and the driver took a wrong turn. Apparently he wasnt using his GSP. We had to stop at a gas station to ask for directions. And then everyone with a smart phone felt Magellan-like and wanted to advise the driver on how to get there. We lost about 45 minutes and arrived at the mountain around 10:30. There wasn't any fog, snow or otherwise inclement weather so this wrong turn was totally a result of an unprepared driver. We only lost 45 minutes and the tour operator offered to let us stay on the mountain a little longer to make up for the time. Overall I will probably use Nacski again BUT Nacski should require that the drivers become familiar with the route the night or day before. This obviously has happened to other tours. This should NOT be part of the Nacski experience. Otherwise, this was great trip. Last suggestion for Nacski: please add a pick up location in downtown San Jose. If you add one near the University, you may increase the students using your service. read more

I take Nac-Ski 90% of the time I take buses up. Mostly I like their simplicity and their cheaper prices. If I go to smaller resorts like Sierra, Kirkwood, Sugarbowl, etc I will be paying about 90 bucks, as opposed to the $120 dollars you would pay at Bay Area Ski bus for pretty much the same thing (minus some snacks). Also, I really like the fact that they do not stop for dinner, I'd much rather go straight home and be back in Milpitas by 8pm than stop at a fast food joint and be back closer to 9. Some cons are that sometimes the bus can be very uncomfortable, and sometimes the tour leads pick awful movies on the way back, but you'd probably have this problem at other buses. They also used to leave later, like 5:30am, which got us there around 10am, but have since adjusted many buses to leave earlier which is nice. Overall, it's a solid choice and probably your cheapest option. It has everything I want, just a bus to get you there and back with no BS. The comfort of the bus (leg room) has been an issue at a couple points though. read more

After reading all of the 2018 reviews I was very nervous about my trip. Maybe the company is going down hill? I booked online on Friday 3.23.18 for a Sunday 3.25.18 trip to Northstar. Everything online went rather smoothly. There was something funky about PayPal when trying to buy but I figured it out in a few minutes. I arrived at Milpitas pick up location at at 4:15am. The bus was already present. 4:25 I boarded the bus. Greeted by the tour guide Jerry and the driver. At 4:39am we were on our way to pick up others at San Mateo and later SF. I slept most of the way up. There was a driver change in Sacrament (so I overheard). Some people complained but I can only imagine that the first driver was up way before 4am to get our bus ready before we boarded. So it's reasonable that she didn't drive us all the way up to Tahoe and back in one day, right!? An hour before Truckee there was Chain Control so the driver put on our chains in a reasonable time frame. We arrived to Northstar safely by 10am ish. Tour guide provided a bottle of water, Goyourt, and a granola bar as we arrived. At 4ish PM we all met up at the bus. Put our gear on the bus. We left Northstar at 4:31pm. The ride home was smooth. Jerry put on 2 movies. Bathroom was clean with TP but no hand sanitizer (bring hand sanitizer!). I arrived at Milpitas parking lot at 9:30pm as scheduled. Great experience. Thank you! read more

For the price you pay, the ski shuttle is a great deal. If you're planning on sleeping during the ride I definitely recommend bringing earplugs or headphones, there's bound to be a few annoying chatterboxes in a seat nearby. Nacski goes straight to the resort and back without making any stops. They also don't serve any hot chocolate or snacks like the other shuttles do. If you prefer just going and leaving without the frills and time spent on those extras this may be a choice for you. I'd give this bus 4 stars but am giving it 3 because the tour guide, who was quite friendly, decided to play 2 religious films on the bus ride, they were also quite loud so it was impossible to tune out. I have nothing against religion, I just think that on a public bus like this with a large group of people from various backgrounds, forcing people to watch Christian movies is not appropriate. read more

NAC Ski is great if you're looking for a no frills single day ski experience. You pay online, get on a bus, and ski. That's pretty much it. The NAC Ski experience starts online. You get to pick the resort you want to ski at, the kind of package you want, and where you want to be picked up at (typically about three cities). The website isn't highly intuitive but it's simple enough to get around if you know how to use Facebook and email. My friend and I decided to go to Kirwood and be picked up at Milpitas in a Big 5 parking lot. The bus met at 4:30AM. I was a little weary of leaving my car in a parking lot since it'd be easy pickings for a thief since they knew a bus full of people would be gone all day. Luckily my car was still there when I got back. Our tour lead wasn't the most charismatic guy to do the job but he's essentially just another skier who wants to ski too. He did his job duties and nothing more. Surprisingly he remembered my name throughout. Weird but good. The charter bus holds three compartments on the side with each one for each city. The seats are two each side with a small television every four rows. They also have lights and air a la airplane. A emergency bathroom was in the back in case anyone had to go. The ride is your typical bumpy bus ride but at least the driver was good and we made good time. It's a pleasure snoozing your way up to the ski resort. The time really flew by in Z-mode. Once you get to the resort you unpack your luggage and gear up. The tour lead then brings you your lift ticket so you don't have to go pick it up. Strangely he didn't bring us our metal tags for our lift tickets so we still had to go pick those up. Skiing was great. Since it was the end of the season skiing some of the lifts weren't open but we managed to find a side of the hill that was really fun to ride. Pickup is simple enough. Everyone on the bus made it back on time. The tour lead handed out some free bottled water so that was nice. The bus next to us had an entire table of food but I couldn't really complain. My friend told me that when she went her tour lead gave them free breakfast and snacks. I didn't expect anything free outside of what I paid for. On the way back two DVDs were played. One was "How Do You Know", a Reese Witherspoon romantic comedy and "Shanghai Noon", an old Jackie Chan film. "How Do You Know" is a horrible horrible movie. It actually made the trip feel a lot longer. I brought ear plugs in case the trip was noisy but instead I used them to block out the horrible script! "Shanghai Noon" isn't a bad film, it's just so old. Couldn't we have gotten a choice of films or at least some good ones?? ____ I still enjoy driving up in a single car or SUV up to the snow because it's a much more intimate and adventurous experience. But if you want to ski without worrying about sleep deprivation or driving I would recommend NAC Ski. My overall experience was a good one. read more

Much smoother and better than expected. I took the bus to Squaw a few weeks ago as a last-minute day trip. The bus arrived in SF on time and left expeditiously. Parking near the bus stop is ample/free on weekends. Byron was our group leader, and he did a tremendous job and had a great attitude (even had fresh-baked goods for us on the way up and back). We arrived on-time at Squaw, and we were able to hit the slopes within 10 minutes of pulling up (since they had lift tickets printed and ready to go on arrival). The pick-up and ride back went smoothly (showed two recent movies). Pros: cheap, fast, great way to avoid the driving hassle to Tahoe, doesn't stop for dinner (unlike Bay Area Ski Bus), good discounts on lift tickets, great for last-minute trips Cons: seats are a little cramped Overall, a great experience and hassle-free. read more

$86 for a round trip from SF to Kirkwood including the lift ticket was not too shabby! The weird thing was that after they picked us up from SF we backtracked to pick up the San Mateo people then headed across the San Mateo bridge up to Tahoe. Seems counterintuitive to drive south then drive north but I guess the bus depot must be in SF or something. No big, I was sleeping anyways but had a mild jolted awake panic moment that we were being kidnapped... I managed to find a seat towards the back with longer than the norm foot space which was... AMAZING. Those extra inches made my nap up so great and I arrived at Kirkwood completely refreshed and ready to board! Look for it!! One thing to keep in mind with NACSki is that they do not provide any food at all. Granted it is cheaper but it does get a little sad when you're walking past the cook-out and kegs of the other buses. Remember to bring food!! All in all a smooth trip to Tahoe with no complaints =) I would prefer Bay Area Ski Bus or Tahoe Sun and Ski Tours but NAC Ski gets the job done! read more

This concept is pure genius! I had been out the night before, taking advantage of half-priced drinks at this club in San Francisco. My friends somehow managed to get a completely wasted Marilou out of the club, into the car, and back to San Jose. After some cleaning up and some Cup-o-Noodles, they had me dressed and piled into the NAC SKI bus in Milpitas by 4 AM! I slept the entire way and by the time we reached the resort, I was ready to board my brains out! After a full day on the slopes, we crawled back into the bus around 4 PM. Slept most of the way back, too... The staff was super friendly (the guide loved to make fun of me for some reason), the seats were comfortable, and they even played movies to and from the resort. You can assemble a package including the bus ride, lift tickets, rentals, lessons, etc. Everything is pretty reasonably priced. I've heard of other buses that include amenities like breakfast or dinner stops or hot chocolate, but that also includes an increase in price. I'm comfortable sticking with NAC SKI. Best choice if you want to focus all your time on the snow. Weather was great. Sunny. Not snowing so the trip on the road was smooth sailing. Usually the hubs and I would make our snowboarding trips a huge deal where we have to pack for the weekend, rent a place to stay, drive up there with multiple pit stops...ugh. But with NACBus, everything changed for me. All I had to do was pack my gear and food, and that's it. Cheryl was our organizer/lead person for Kirkwood and she did an amazing job informing us of all the details during the trip. She handed us heathy organic snack bar and juice box for our light breakfast about an hour before arriving. Then handed us our tickets when we arrived, we geared up, and on we went with our day in the snow. On our way back we watched 3 movies (Despicable Me 2, Inside Out, & The Art of Flight). She also handed us a full bottle of water (not the small size bottles). Only real con I had was that the seats were uncomfortable. They were stiff and narrow. Plane seats are more comfortable than this bus. Tip: don't forget your headphones like I did otherwise you may be forced to listen to a child announce to the whole bus that she sees snow, and anything else that pops into her head, and your neighbors whispering loudly all while the rest of the bus is dead quiet trying to sleep. List of must items for the bus to maximize your comfort: - headphones/ear plugs - sunglasses - food/snacks - tissue (you never know if the bathroom will run out of toilet paper) - blanket (if you're the type that gets cold easily) - Good hand lotion because cold air will dry out your hands until they turn into sandpaper. - wear jeans on the bus and put on ur snow pants at the resort. I kept slipping in my seat. Also a dedicated bag for your skis/snowboard/gear is a must if you care about it not getting scratched up since your stuff will get tossed around on the bottom of the bus. You're also allowed to keep items on the bus which will be locked during the time you're on the mts. You can't access it during the day, so if you need to access stuff, you need to rent a locker. When you choose to ride a bus with strangers, you should already have certain expectations. Overall, good trip and experience. I paid for what I expected (no frills, well organized round trip ride and tickets). We had some delays but that is to be expected but it really wasn't too bad. It was great not having to drive and that I get to sleep in my own bed at the end of a day. Just don't forget your headphones. --- Second trip went even smoother. Heat on the bus was on so it was super comfy. The driver was able to get us there in time and took him 3.5 hours to get back to my drop off location, which is insane timing! Fastest getting home from Tahoe ever. Wish I had cash because he deserved a tip for sure. read more

I'm never booking with NACSKI again! I was going to use this bus service for the first time but it was cancelled the day before due to "rain" in the forecast. Because of this last minute cancellation over a trivial reason (it's a SKI bus, worse inclement weather often occurs.) It was too late for me to make other arrangements and I lost the cost of the lift ticket I purchased in advance and had to miss out on an event being held at the resort this particular weekend. From now on, I'm sticking with the other bus company, they go rain, snow or shine and cancel last minute ONLY if the road is completely closed. The other company's buses also routinely stop in East Bay cities, as apposed to NACSKI. read more

FIrst time I went to ski Tahoe via the bus, and I would say it's just so-so. Overall, NAC ski did it's job, but it could be better. Pros: Sleeping on the bus was great. The tour leader was Nick. He was OK. He gave he right amount of info, but he wasn't super enthusiastic about the whole trip. Read the rules and info from a clip board, so it sounded robotic. The driver drove well. No stops other than putting on chains. He was faster going back, due to less traffic. Got back to SF 835 pm. Pick up and drop off in SF/Berkeley had no drama. Very smooth. Cons: The Bus - It was dirty, random old snacks and stains everywhere. PA mic didn't work. TV for movies didn't work. Bus had a large crack across the windshield in front of the driver's visual. 35+ mins to put on chains!!!!!! WTF? it should take only 15 mins if you practice. People are laggers; ridiculous. I got back to the bus 410pm. We were instructed to be back by 415pm and leave by 430pm. The last person got back 435pm, didn't leave until 450pm. 3 stars for getting the job done. -1 star for chain delay. -1 star for dirty bus. +1 star for getting some rest and drama free pickup/drop off. Not sure if I would do it again. Driving your own 4wd SUV I think is better as long as you have a friends to share the driving and gas. If you don't have a car, then NAC ski will do just fine. read more

This was my first time in 10 seasons as a boarder that I decided to take up a bus vs. driving up for a suicide day trip. For me I like to board a little sloshy so the drive back is always such a struggle on the body. So a few of my friends and I decided to take the bus on Sunday 3/28/10 to Sierra at Tahoe. It was awesome that we could all chill on the bus and not have to stress about driving or making pit stops etc. On the way home after a long day of boarding and drinking the ride home was so quick since we all passed out! Definitely worth it for $45! The only negative I would point out was that the bathroom I don't believe was cleaned or sanitized before this trip. Unfortunately, we were sitting right next to it on the way up and it was just rancid every time someone wanted to use it. I think I almost threw up in my mouth 3 times. Luckily, I believe they sanitized it before the ride back. Overall, it served its purpose and a means to an end. They got the job done, but I was looking forward to more of a social/fun party bus. Age group wise, I feel everyone on the bus was between 18 and 30 with the exception of 1 family. read more

Great, affordable bus service with lift ticket to most good mountains near Tahoe. I've used NACSki several times this season and a few last season with most trips being smooth and drama free. Their buses are clean and up to date and drivers are fast - but not too fast. ;) I've used other services before (Tahoe Snow and Sun and Bay Area Ski Bus), but NACSki is still my favorite. See below for competitive analysis! NACSki doesn't provide all the frills as they don't make a stop on the way home, nor provide food. BUT I appreciate that as I'd rather keep the cost down and get home soon after a long day of boarding. The tour guides are cool and they're pretty quick about delivering tickets once at the mountain. One thing I wish they changed was the boarding pass situation. Their website is easy to use, though the printing the boarding pass process after purchasing your ticket is kind of annoying. After purchasing, you have to log back into your account, find the trip and print it out. Why not print directly after purchasing? I actually wish you could just show the pass on your phone or give them your name to save some trees. COMPETITORS: Tahoe Sun and Snow was cheaper, but it was an old bus with an even older driver - so slow! Was on the road for 13 hours that day with only 4 hours of riding. Worst ski/snow bus experience ever, but to their credit, it might just be a one time only thing. Bay Area Ski Bus is more expensive, but they do provide breakfast on the way up (yogurt, bagel, juice), snacks/drinks for the ride back. But I think the difference in price isn't worth it - if you're not too lazy to bring your own food. read more

Well I finally gave it a try and had a horrible experience. On my way to Heavenly, the tour guide made several mistakes in her announcement. Unfortunately one of them is critical, she said the bus leaves at 5pm (later I realized it is 4:30pm). When I showed up at the parking lot at 4:30pm, I saw the bus leaving. I immediately picked up the phone and called the driver-Ron Stein. Well instead of stopping and let me on, he argued it was my fault and therefore I have to live with the consequence. Did I make a mistake, yes. I did not double check the critical departure time. But I sure feel the operators do not care about customers. He could have easily helped me, but instead leave me stranded in a dark and cold to prove he was right. read more

Just took this on Sunday to Kirkwood. The bus was on time and we loaded our gear onto the bus. Sleep a few hours and arrived at Kirkwood around 9:30am. The trip cost me 89 bucks, 45 for the bus ride and 41 for the lift ticket, I think if you book earlier its even cheaper for the bus ride by a few bucks. Make sure you're on time since the bus will leave, I noticed some people who were on the bus in the morning did not make it back with us, not sure if they left them there or not. We got back a lot faster!!! I think for a day trip this is a very good option. We watched Star Trek on our way back, but I assed out after a long day of snowboarding read more

Took a shuttle up to Kirkwood on Christmas eve, and everything went smoothly. The bus driver drove quickly and safely, she knew exactly where to go, and she changed chains quickly. NAC ski also gives you a little snack on the bus ride. After this experience with NAC ski, I would definitely ride with them again. read more

The tour leads make all the difference. It is too bad people blame NAC for the weather. And let's face the fact that the driver comes from a contracted company like Bauer. NO ski bus company Owns their own busses. So, keep it in perspective. You way $45-55 for the ride, so its efficient and inexpensive and you can sleep. What are your expectations up front? Cramped! It's a bus, what did you expect, it's a bus. Mall bathroom...hello again, bus. This isn't a 747 to the mountain. Of course it is a long bus trip in bad weather, this is why you took the bus... Or by yourself an Outback and hit the road. If you like a simple, no song and dance trip to the hills, here it is. Yes, they don't do the after party and dance fest before you return, but isn't the point to go skiing? The buses have gotten pretty nice this 12-13 season with Bauer and others doing some upgrades. I've been on two trips. I love this service for the simple fact that there's no way in hell my tiny Toyota Yaris city car would survive a snowy drive to Tahoe. The NAC ski charter buses are average. The seats are kinda small but the headrests are curved so at least you can sleep. Your drive will mostly depend on your driver...first trip was hella slow but on the second trip the driver hauled ass there and back. Your gear goes under the bus and there's overhead storage for your backpack, etc. Some main differences between NAC Ski and the Bay Area Ski Bus begin with snacks. No snacks or red bull with NAC Ski but you can bring your own and eat/drink on the bus. The no snacks also keeps the price lower. If you purchase tickets together NAC Ski is courteous enough to reserve seats together for you- this is really helpful if you're on one of the last pickups. Here are my helpful tips: Bring booze and snacks Sit in the first or last row-there's more leg room a small blanket will keep you cozy, be a pillow, or shield you from annoying people get to the bus early- it will leave without you This is a great way to squeeze more boarding/ski time into the season. read more

I was very impressed with how well the people of NAC SKI worked with me, even though it turned out to be a disastrous day. I decided that I wanted to go skiing at Alpine Meadows leaving from Milpitas the night before and they were able to fit me into the trip last minute. My tour leader was Bill and he was very enthusiastic and very helpful with any questions, especially considering that this was my first bus trip. The bus left on time and it was nice and quiet so I was able to sleep on the way up. We made it to the mountain in good time and got on the slopes quickly. About halfway through the day I got injured on the backside of the mountain and I was taken to first aid by ski patrol. I was very impressed with how TL Bill handled the situation. He did a great job. I injured my knee early in the afternoon, and he periodically checked in to make sure I was doing well, or to see if i needed anything (food or drink). At the end of the day he helped to transport me via wheelchair to a shuttle, and ultimately carried me onto the bus. I am really grateful that he took such good care of me, and would have been in dire straights without his assistance. I was made comfortable on the bus and the drive home, though stuck in traffic, was entertaining and went by fairly quick with the help of a couple of DVDs. I really would recommend NAC SKI to anyone who wants to go up to the snow for a day or two of skiing but either doesn't have access to a car or doesn't want to drive. This can be a pretty tough ride. 6-hour trips, crowded bus, small spaces, bus toilets, multiple stops. I've done this twice, and both trips, it took about 6 hours to get to the resort (approx. 10:30 arrival time), and about 4 hours to get home. On the first trip to Northstar, the driver went the wrong way. On that same trip, we left the resort 30 mins after our scheduled departure. The bus comfort on my second trip (to Northstar) was horrible. There was hardly any leg room, and the seats were very narrow. The bus for my first trip was a bit more spacious, but there was a steady stream of cold air coming from the vents the entire time, so it was cold as balls. NAC Ski does send emails the night before about your bus (model, etc.), but seems to be confused as to what is considered, "comfortable." They often mention whether the bus has leather seats. Comfort on a bus is not solely dependent on whether the seats are leather. Also, no wi-fi. And if you need to contact Customer Service for anything, good luck. I contacted Lost & Found, only to receive a response 2.5+ weeks later. read more

Here is the updates. I filed a claim at Paypal on 11 days ago. Within the awaiting 11 days, Nac Ski has no response at all. Today I got the email from Paypal indicating that the refund is issued. No one from Nac Ski tried to contact me from email, phone or even Paypal message. I had a good customer service experience last year. This year, there is something definitely changed in Nac Ski and customer service is horrible. read more

I did a trip to Kirkwood (Lake Tahoe) from El Cerrito last month. A same day return trip ticket cost $45. We were the last stop before the long drive to Tahoe and the bus was running late, however the tour leader phoned ahead to let us know they'd be 5-10 mins late. The bus was clean and comfortable- enough so that you can sleep as most people did. They drop you off and pick you up from next to one of the ski lifts which is great. The movie on the way back was a bit loud though they do warn you about it beforehand. Other than they don't have a Berkeley pickup location which would be ideal as I live in Berkeley :) Overall if you're travelling in a small group or by yourself for a day trip it definitely beats driving! read more

I'm sorry to say that we had an awful experience with NACSki; I organized a ski trip to Kirkwood for 50 people who work for a a well-known large company in the Bay Area and at 5am on a Saturday morning in January, the NACSki bus never showed. I am typically understanding and I've never written a review like this in my life. I gave myself a month to think this over to make sure I wasn't just reacting in the moment AND most importantly to allow for plenty of time for NACSki to redeem themselves. However, my colleagues and I still have not been refunded for this trip and I cannot continue to allow a company to treat their customers this way. I have had to proactively reach out to Charlie numerous times (shouldn't it be the opposite?) and have been assured timelines for refunds that have come and gone. I have asked to speak to his management with no response. My colleagues have tried to call and email with no response. They have recently reached out directly to members who signed up but this was only after 3-4 weeks had gone by... and still no refunds have been processed to date. This is unacceptable as is all communication to our team which has taken zero accountability for this issue. They continue to blame the bus company, and although that might be true, our group doesn't care who's at fault. We organized it through NACSki and therefore, they need to take accountability... which means refunds processed, not continued emails apologize/blaming the bus company without any action. I realize that voicing this complaint and these concerns will hopefully make others' trips more enjoyable... and will hopefully trigger Charlie and his team to make things right for my colleagues and I. Took a trip to Northstar on Sunday 12/27/15. It was perfect trip in all respects. Bus arrived and departed on time. There were plenty of seats. Seats are comfortable and clean as whole bus including lavatory. Temperature inside adjusted just right. There was no traffic on the way up to Northstar so it took us about 4 hours. Weather on Sunday was perfect for ski. No wind, not too cold. Surprisingly no much crowds. We took off at 5PM. Arrived in San Francisco around 9PM despite really heavy traffic in Sierra. We gave a good applause to the driver - he was phenomenal. Thank to our guide Bill. He was informative and helpful and he is nice guy. read more

Do not use them! The company I worked for booked them for a trip and verified multiple times that the bus had been confirmed. We arrived at 5 am as planned and recommended by our verified ticket confirmation from NAC Ski Bus and the bus literally never showed up. After waiting for almost an hour some of us ended up having to drive ourselves to the resort. Others went home very unhappy and discouraged. NAC Ski was super unprofessional in the aftermath and never reimbursed some of my coworkers for the lift tickets also bought through them even though the tickets were never used as they didn't end up going. You are literally better off just driving yourself to Tahoe. read more

I finally got to try this and I think it's a great thing! Its so convenient and affordable! This is how it all started. My friends live pretty close to the De Haro pick up spot so we gathered there for the night before the trip. Didn't know if there was any parking out there so we decided to cab to the spot. It looked like everyone drove and found parking, so we'll know for next time. The bus got there within' 5 min. of the 4:30 (crazy early!) pick up time. We loaded up on the bus and took off. It took too more stops in Berkeley and Walnut Creek and then up to Tahoe we go! The best thing about this ride was I got to sleep! Usually I'm one of the drivers going to Tahoe so it was an extreme plus! We stopped to put chains on but still got to Kirkwood at 9:30. They also gave us water which I didn't expect but was very nice of them Coming back they played three movies. The ride was that long, but hey, I slept through 2 of them (Transporter and The Mummy). We were the last stop of the night and ended up back at the drop off point by 9:30. It was a long day but taking NAC Ski made snowboarding easy. I'll definitely use it again. read more

I love the NAC ski bus. I love it because it leaves from a better location (South Station) than the ski market bus and I also love that it lets people who don't have cars go by having a later departure time. It lets you take the first train and make it to South Station on time. Other ski buses leave at 5am before the T even runs, which makes it hard if you don't have a car. But NAC, it lets you take the T, which is helpful. It's a great program and I just wish they have more trips!!! read more

What a deal - the bus fare pays for gas, and the lift ticket is basically half the price you'd pay at the resort. And you dont' have to worry about parking or driving home. Why we never did this before is beyond me. We had a great experience - the bus was on time, and got us at the resort in 3hrs flat! Our team lead was very friendly and helpful. The ride home took us a little over 3hrs - not bad with a movie playing. Luckily we sat closer to the front so the audio and tv screen was big/loud enough to enjoy. They raffled off a few things on the ride home, which was a nice touch. Next trip, I'm gonna master that tongue twister and win myself a beanie! read more

Since Tahoe is so accessible for bay area folks, I usually do day trips so that I have the rest of the weekend to run errands. This usually designates someone in our group to be DD. I've only done one trip, but it was great! I took NAC ski to heavenly. The buses don't have trouble getting through the snow and my trip left on-time. Once we got on the bus, it was lights out. We could sleep the entire trip without having to stay up to hold the obligatory conversation to keep your own driver awake if you were to drive yourself. Once we arrived, the bus drops you off at the closest parking lot on the california side. Pick up at the end of the day is perfect. You don't have to wait for a shuttle or make the long hike to your own car. You can grab a drink guilt free and hop back on the bus for the ride home. The group votes for a movie, so you can watch a movie on the way back or catch a nap. The volume is a bit loud for those that want to watch the movie, so bring ear plugs or noise limiting headphones if you want to sleep. I did the SF pickup down at 17th and deharo. There is plenty of street parking in the area, but make sure you get there early enough to read the signs carefully. You also want to get there early because most bus trips sell out and you don't want the last seat by the bathroom! read more

Took Nacski to Northstar the day after Christmas and it's definitely the way to go for a daytrip. Trips range from $40-46 for a roundtrip bus ticket and they also sell discount lift tickets. The bus picks you up in Milpitas at 5a, San Mateo at 5:30a, SF at 6a, then takes 3-4hrs to get to Tahoe, could be more depending on traffic. Make sure to bring headphones because some people will talk pretty loud at 5a while everyone is trying to sleep. The bus is a secure place to leave your stuff while you're skiing or snowboarding but there is the possibility that someone else is sitting in your seat upon return. Open seating. Some people are rude and don't come back to the bus on time which may cause a delay in your departure. Our tour lead was good about calling these people out and telling them they were really inconsiderate. Not sure at what point the tour lead will leave people behind. The tour lead plays a variety of movies on the bus ride home which definitely helps pass the time. read more

We went to Kirkwood on Sunday 3/27. 10 minutes before the time we were supposed to leave and no bus. We started to worry, but the bus came and we left right on time (or maybe a few minutes late). There was a guide who was really good. I think his name was Ron. He was funny and when we had to pull over to put on chains, he tried to keep us entertained. The bus left Kirkwood a few minutes late because one of our friends was MIA. Ron told us that we had to leave because by law, we had to be off the road by a certain time. He did everything he could to not leave our friend behind which we really appreciate. He told us leaving a person behind was never something he took lightly. There are plent of tvs and we watched a movie on the way home. The bus itself was clean, but the seats didn't recline very far. It was an uncomfortable ride, but not bad enough for me to stop using Nac Ski. Great service. read more

Tried it once - never again. The bus was more 60min late, then had a mysterious driver switch midway. Then the bus engine wouldn't start after the driver swap. Arrived at Heavenly 11:30! Once we left chain control was enforced, but the driver openly admitted that they had never driven with chain nor knew how to put them on. After wasting 3 h trying to figure out what to do the control was lifted. We arrived back in SF around 1:30am! It's a ski bus: you should expect/hope for snow: have snow chains, know how to put them on and know how to drive in those conditions. Absolutely joke!!! read more

I had gone on this company earlier this year. We decided on Potereo Hill pickup. We ended up waiting half an hour longer in the early morning with no one to confirm. The bus was even later when it got to the East Bay. When going down our bus broke. Instead of getting another bus when ended up wasting 3 hours of our day at Sacramento waiting for them to fix a broken part. We lost 3 hours of ski time and was not reimbursed. We wrote several times to the company as the guy instructed, but nothing. All we get is SPAM about monthly specials. read more

Reasons being: 1) cheaper than bay area ski bus (basb) 2) EXTREMELY NICE STAFF!!! the tour guides are awesome! 3) nice relaxing ride....don't have to worry about paying for gas or getting tired when driving home 4) they have a very good rewards program 5) have more trips every weekend than basb The only negative thing i can say is that the bus ride isn't very comfortable if you're sitting next to a stranger....so bring a friend! =D read more
