Refried beans were runny and cold, rice tasted Like stir fried rice with addition of enchilada sauce, and the most expensive fajitas $26, way over seasoned, drowned in half melted cheese, and the standard size you get for $17 dollars everywhere else. New place in the area, we are just visiting relatives. Apparently, it used to be a Johnny Carinos. We went with my brother and his wife. A large place with lots of tables and booths to choose from. It's not overly decorated. Separate bar inside, they have some good looking margaritas on the drink menu. The squeeze and I shared the large plate of house fajitas. It came out sizzling of course, and it came with a plate of the usual Mexican restaurant fare, rice, beans and lettuce. I did not take a pic of the rice and beans for that reason. We ordered chips and salsa. The salsa had great flavor and had a little bite to it. There was a separate bowl for each of us, which meant we could re-dip. The fajitas were very good, nice flavor. The peppers and onions had a little char on them, and the shrimp were done perfectly. They were very hot. We got two tortillas each wrapped in foil. My sister-in-law got the small order and had three tortillas with hers. ? The rice was actually better than most places. Since we had the plate full of fajitas and another for the beans and rice, I would have thought they would bring us plates to assemble the tortillas on. We ended up using the plastic dish and foil. That was kind of a bummer. All in all, a good meal and Marisol did a great job. She didn't bring the food out, so I can't blame her for the lack of plates. read more

We went to Nacho House for lunch with my coworkers and had such a great experience! The restaurant had just opened, and the service was impressively fast right from the start. They brought out free chips and salsa as soon as we sat down,just like a true Mexican restaurant should. And the salsa was amazing. It's honestly so hard to find authentically spicy salsa in Utah, and they absolutely delivered on that!! My friend and I love to share family-style, so we ordered the Elote Dip, grilled chicken quesadillas, and the Southwest nachos. Everything was perfect for sharing and honestly so satisfying. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor, and the quesadilla cheese was thick, melty, and perfectly gooey. They definitely do not skimp on portions or quality. The nachos were super fresh and loaded just right. We both ended up taking home full to-go boxes because the portions were generous and filling.What really stood out was the hospitality! it felt like we were being welcomed into someone's home. They really wanted you to leave full and happy. Also, the seating was so comfortable. The chairs have armrests and felt cozy and supportive, which made the whole lunch feel even more relaxed. Was happy to see this location get a new tenant. Nacho House sounded good to me so my wife and I gave it a shot. They have not dramatically changed the interior from when this location was a Johnny Carino's. When I was there, late January, they didn't have the staff to use all their space as an entire half of the seating area was empty and they were three parties deep on the waitlist, and growing. I got the Large Chimi Ranchera. Based on the description I was expecting a significantly larger portion. What I was served I would describe as two large (maybe even jumbo) taquitos. Neither was as large as any Chimichanga I've had before. In fact they were not as large as the burritos you'd get in a bag of store bought frozen burritos. I'm not one to fixate too much on portion size, but I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting to have some leftovers for later. I'm far more concerned with quality and good flavors over portion size. The food didn't taste bad. I ate it, but it's not my style. I got ranchera which I think of as being a zesty tomato-based sauce sometimes with some spiciness. What I got was more of a creamy, cheesy sauce. I'm not suggesting anything related to cleanliness or hygiene, but I was not feeling too well later. I think it was the creamy sauce that just didn't agree with my stomach. Pretty unpleasant and why I have no plans to return. This is a place I wouldn't go back to even if I was in a group and they all wanted to go to Nacho House. I don't know why it's called nacho house when there are only about 4 nacho options. It is more of a Mexican style restaurant. I got the supreme nachos and was disappointed. It was half shredded chicken and half ground beef. I felt like it was very dry nachos. Not much, if any sauce. I would've preferred a lot more sour cream and pico. My daughter got the shredded beef kids nachos and it was a good portion. My husband got some kind of fish tacos and he really liked them. They were spicy, but tasted really good! Always a pleasure coming to this restaurant. Their other location is a 3 minute drive from our house and we go to it quite frequently. It's amazing. So we thought we'd check out their new location in West Jordan. So so good. You can't go wrong with the Fajitas Flamigo. And they have the best ground beef burrito I've ever had. Then you throw some of their famous white cheese sauce on top and it's perfection. Best Mexican restaurant in Utah, hands down. You won't be disappointed, I promise. It's called Nacho House, so try the Nacho's, right? The chips appeared to be "restaurant style" in the sense that it says so on the bag from the local supermarket. The flour tortillas that came with the fajitas seemed to be local supermarket fare too. The refried beans on the side of the mains seemed to be from a can as well. We got the Elotes dip, because we are huge fans of Elotes. This was a cheesy/beany dip with some corn thrown in. I didn't pick up any Cotija or Tajin notes whatsoever. I also tried some Chimi's, and they weren't bad, but rather than the sense of a fresh tortilla that was deep fried, it seemed more like an oddly breaded and probably frozen... thing... that was reheated. The service was second to none! My wife ordered the large Bacon-Wrapped Chimichangas, which came with one chicken and one steak, and they were outstanding!!! Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the Nachos Fundido, which were also really delicious. For dessert we ordered the churros, and they were absolutely amazing! We got to try out an upcoming dessert they will call their House Cake (a Cajeta cake with ice cream and caramel sauce), and it was amazing!!! read more

It's a shame this place's quality is going down. We first tried it a couple of weeks ago. We really loved it and have been there to eat and pick up food twice or three times a week. The last 2 times we picked food we were very disappointed. The flavor is NOT the same. Huge difference from the first visits. I also ordered online yesterday and had to wait additional 45 minutes after I arrived when the food was supposed to be ready. The food was not good at all. I regret I advised some of my friends to go when we first tried it. Apparently other people have noticed the same issue, as I heard it from some friends too. It's a shame there is no consistency. Our waiter, Skylar, needs to take a customer service course. I can't remember being treated as rudely as I was treated by this waiter. When I asked about the chips and salsa, he literally retorted that we had to order first. A simple, "yes, those will be served shortly" would have been so much better.
